A New Chapter
By: Foxtrot Date: April 27, 2016, 9:33 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
With keys in hoof, a lone unicorn wanders through the streets as
Manehattan's lights guide him through. Looking up, he eyes the
starry night before drawing his attention to a familiar loft.
The brick structure appears to be well secure, certainly a place
of upkeep. Trotting up the steps, he tosses the keys toward the
entrance. A sudden glow surrounds them, gently tilting them
like a stray feather until one finally enters the doorknob. A
twist and click later he enters, entering a vacant elevator and
selecting the desired floor. The soft tunes echoing from the
speaker provide enough atmosphere to be lost in thoughts as the
lift begins. The soreness from his injuries are more prevalent,
keeping the stallion awake past the physical exertion of the
past events. A sudden bing of the elevator brings his focus back
to the task at hoof. A grin emerges on his face as he sees the
safe house, Director Bravo's personal office. Using the second
key, the double doors part to reveal a three story safe room
branding a myriad of deluxe furniture and equipment. Arms and
armor line sections of the walls, computers and navigational
items rest on a quartz stone table. The unicorn advances to the
center of the office, his steps echoing on the shining tile. An
hour of exploring; as well as a hot shower and meal later, he
replaces his attire and equipment. Sporting his green jacket,
Foxtrot reinforces his attire with ballistic plating; arming up
with a new combat machete, he slings his black guitar over his
shoulder and approaches a sleek terminal with the evidence and a
copy of the organization's protocol. Turning on the computer, he
types in a paragraph of code and presses enter. A screen pops
into view, several windows distinguished by a name of the
remaining Handlers of The 26. Taking a deep breath and opening
up his texts, he calls his fellow agents. Only one of the seven
doesn't answer; regardless, the notice must be sent. "Attention
Handlers, this is Agent 04; I have urgent news to relay. The
Directors have been compromised and apprehended to the nation of
Saddle Arabia. They have been given the necessary information
which is still accessible to The 26. I state that the Cole
Protocol be enabled; please confirm?" Six separate beeps go off
before the screens shut down. "Well, that was easier than
expected. Still, we did have exercises like that every year."
Letting out a yawn, and finding that is now 3:00 am, Foxtrot
ends the morning by collapsing on the large cushioned sofas. A
days sleep later, he wakes up and ventures out into the city,
back to the same serenity of the night. He status on his
previous route, trotting back to meet with Broadshield. 'Huh,
it's been a long time since I was a guard, since...' he
doesn't finish the thought, but instead keeps walking under that
starry sky.

Re: A New Chapter
By: Equinox Date: April 28, 2016, 1:26 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Even at 3:00 in the morning, Equinox does not stop or slow down
in their operations. The collapse site of the building is still
nothing more than a pile of rubble, albeit, rubble that has been
thoroughly searched through. Since relief efforts started hours
ago, Equinox managed to find most of the ponies and fellow
soldiers, many injured but still alive, some unfortunately dead.
Those that were found alive lay in stretchers in the Equinox
temporary tent FOB, tended to by Equinox medics, and standard
medics in the area, most of them not knowing of Equinox's
presence, and were believed to be National or Royal Guard. Those
that were killed in the disaster lay in a separate tent covered
in sheets, masking their identity to all but the coroners. Among
the injured and alive, there was also a stray dog, rescued from
the building. It helped to improve morale for the patients and
soldiers there. In the command section of the tent, there were
some ponies present, still busy coordinating the relief efforts,
working radios or pouring over papers and maps.
Outside, workers continue working through the rubble looking for
ponies. Surrounding the area are dozens of foglights
illuminating the area. What was once an impenetrable wall of
ponies with riot shields now stands a chain link fence, what you
would see at a construction site. At random points along the
fence are checkpoints, allowing civilians looking for relatives,
soldiers and relief workers, and vehicles to enter and exit the
area, guarded by some Equinox soldiers.
Broadshield sits silently in his office in the FOB, looking over
a list of confirmed casualties for Equinox soldiers. Out of the
200 or so soldiers that were out there today, 20 gave their
lives for the mission. 20 too many. As he looked over the list
he drank his coffee out of his mug with the text "Fill me up or
buck off". Getting up he made his way outside and continued to
watch over the relief efforts silently. He had been helping with
the relief effort for hours on end, and wouldn't stop until he
had collapsed, from his injuries and exhaustion. As he watched
on he thought of the past day's events, more specifically the
26. 'This is the power of the 26. Their bullshit 'Phantom
Initiative' cost the lives of dozens of ponies, good, innocent
ponies. They probably don't give a fuck about what they did,
what they've done. They ought to rot in Tartarus for what they
did.' He thinks to himself before pausing to take another sip.
'Fox... I've seen firsthand what the Phantom Initiative did to
him, his powers of destruction. We may have taken 5 down, but
there are still 20 other agents and handlers out there, maybe
read and willing to enact revenge for their directors. This
bastards...' He thought to himself, feeling his anger bubbling
up. Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself and continue his
reflection. 'I wonder what will happen now. The other agents and
handlers have no leaders. Do they do what they want? Do they try
to go back to their old lives? I wonder what Fox did to the
others. What will he tell them? That the Directors have been
taken down? There's got to be a protocol for that.' He thinks.
'I wonder if Fox will join Equinox... And if we can trust
him...' He thinks to himself, as he looks up into the night sky
before taking another sip of his drink.

---------------------------------------------------------
The light whistling of the winds surround Foxtrot as he nears
the site. He hesitates as he scans the recovering destruction
from the fight. The unicorn passes the medical tent, recalling
Nivalia's wraps. 'I still gotta follow up with Niv. She has
more than enough resources to expand her business; if she can
strike a deal with Equinox, a lot more lives can be saved.
'Pressing forward, he nods to passing Equinox guards which
direct him to the main tent. Entering, his finds his way to
Broadshield's office and knocks on the doorframe. "Hey
Broadshield, you there? "

By: Broadshield Date: April 29, 2016, 2:41 am
---------------------------------------------------------
The guards had alerted Broadshield to Foxtrot's presence, when
he had made his way back to his office. Opening the sheets that
separated the two, a small smile graced the commander's face.
"Fox, good to see you, come in." He says to him before making
his way over to his desk. "Well, we have a lot to talk about,
take a seat, please." He says, getting comfortable in his chair
with his cup of coffee. "In terms of the relief efforts, we've
been going well over the last 24 hours or so. We've managed to
find and recover most, if not all of the bodies from the
collapse. As it stands, there have been roughly 30 - 40
casualties, 20 of them my soldiers. Which brings me to the next
point I wish to discuss, The 26. After the operation, I and
Equinox, maybe even all of Equestria has seen the 26 along with
the 'Phantom Initiative' and its capability and potential to
cause undue harm to innocent civilians caught up in their
missions whilst under the effects of the program, which you have
been subject to Fox." He pauses, taking a drink before
continuing. "2 days ago you said that when everything was said
and done, you would contact the others. So now, now that the 26
is effectively no more, what happens to them? Do they complete
their mission and that's it? Do they drop everything and abandon
their mission? Or do they continue to operate on their own?" He
asks him.

---------------------------------------------------------
Foxtrot remains silent as he sits down and listens to
Broadshield, the unicorn's ears folding back when he hears about
the casualties. It's the commander's questions that draw the
former agent out of his stupor. "Yea I actually initiated what's
called the Cole Protocol. It's used in the event that all
Directors are incapable of performing their duties, either
because they died, were arrested, etc. Any agent can enact the
protocol but the Handlers always check to make sure it's
legitimate. After its confirmed, it's just a matter of paperwork
and liability. It's safe to say that a majority of our clients
and agents had no idea of the Director's involvement with the
civil war. With our clients, we erase any and all account
information and communication logs unless they still have open
or pending contracts with us. As for the contracts themselves,
all current ones must be completed; they've already been paid
for it and ate legally obligated to finish the job regardless.
In terms of pending contracts, agents can either decline them or
complete them as an independent party; they would get paid
directly by the client themselves. Finally is just a matter of
dispersing The 26's resources." The unicorn leans back on his
seat as he resumes. "Handlers inherit the safe houses that they
work out of. Field agents get them as well if there's extra.
Finances are evenly distributed as well as any other equipment.
From there... it's up to them what they do next. As for the
Phantom Initiative, I have to follow up with my own Handler to
get more information. Even though the Directors are locked up,
it doesn't release me from the program."

Broadshield listens quietly to Fox as he gives his response in
the status of the 26. "I see, so they just go their separate
ways. But one thing is bothering me, what about the possibility
of the others trying to retake the Directors, they haven't
exactly been killed, and I don't know how CSF 'Anaconda' will be
able to hold off against them." He pauses before continuing.
"I'll see what we can do about the Phantom Initiative, how to
get that out of you, we may need to go to Saddle Arabia if worse
comes to worse." He says before taking a sip of his drink.
"Anyways, back to the situation on hoof, we've nearly finished
getting ponies out of the rubble, but we've got dozens, around
100 injured, we're barely scraping by with the number of medical
equipment we and locals have combined, simply put, we need a
hell of a lot more if we're going to be able to save ponies. Do
you have any idea where we might be able to get supplies?" He
asks.

Foxtrot couldn't help but chuckle at his question, "I'm glad you
asked; Nivalia's store, The Herbiary. She's looking to expand
her business and if Equinox needs the supply, I can surely pass
the word. Speaking of enlisting assistance, I'd like to join
Equinox." The unicorn pauses as he looks around the office, "I
haven't been a guard since... well, for a while. With the
Phantom Initiative, that's something I have to figure out. The
information I got was basic; I have a lead that could she'd some
light on things. For either of them, I have to get back to
Canterlot."

---------------------------------------------------------
Broadshield nods his head in acknowledgement of Nivalia's and
Foxtrot's proposal to make trading agreements. "That sounds
good. First, we'll order a batch or two of her wares, and
determine its effectiveness in helping injured soldiers and
civilians, and determine any issues that may arise. If all goes
well, we will continue to purchase mass amounts of her items. If
she needs to, I can also send some researchers and doctors from
the Medical Unit in Canterlot to help develop and produce more
effective first-aid wraps, medication and such. To expand on the
deal further, if she needs to, we can also provide alternative
areas to set up, or even expand her business, but I can only
offer these things once both parties are in agreement." He
finishes, taking a moment to pause before continuing. "It's good
to see you've chosen to join up with Equinox, we need more
soldiers like you. As I stated earlier, you have a say in where
you wish to be stationed and which unit you choose to be in. If
I had to guess, I'd say you would want to be stationed in the
Canterlot base, and in either the Combat Unit Performing various
missions, from offensives, defense, patrol and such, or Intel
Unit taking part in mainly solo, tactical espionage operations.
The official process for enlistment takes about a week or so,
but you are now a proud soldier of Equinox." He says, before
getting up and making his way towards the door (sheet) towards
the outside. "I can organize a helicopter to take us directly to
Canterlot, but we won't leave until I would say 10 am local
time, which is good, because I'll need some rest." He pauses
before continuing. "Before we go to Canterlot, I'd like to ask,
what is the nature of this lead in Canterlot that you're talking
about?" He asks

Foxtrot follows the commander outside of the tent as he listens
to him explain the situation. Leaving in the morning was
certainly not an issue for the unicorn; more time to sleep
actually. His ears perk up as he hears the question. "Her name's
Lima, she was my former Handler. She was the one that provided
me with the information about the Phantom Initiative and the
evidence against the Directors. More than likely she's gone into
hiding, so I may need to do some digging to find her." He pauses
as he considers his options on which unit would best suit his
skillset. "I think the Intel Unit would be the best fit. In
terms of rank, do I just keep my previous one or start at the
bottom rung?"

"I see, so 'Lima' as she's known has more information on Phantom
Initiative along with evidence of the Director's involvement
with the Saddle Arabian conflict. When you find her, I'm
assuming you'll enlist her help in getting the whole Phantom
Initiative, sleeper agent crap out of you, correct?" he says,
beginning to slowly walk around the site, giving an indication
to Fox that he is going out.. "As for your rank, you were 1st
Lieutenant, 22nd Light Calvary, correct? I'm willing to give you
that rank once again. With being 1st Lieutenant in the Intel
Unit in Canterlot, you will be given a 15 - 30 pony platoon to
command, and you will be tasked with Intel related missions at
any time, and you can choose to go solo, or take your platoon
with you. Does that sound fair? And was there anything more you
want to ask about Equinox?" he asks him.
