It takes Tinder a while to get her bearing as she stands,
grabbing her knife in her teeth once more. As the griffon speaks
she starts to back up slowly, knowing she can't be of much help
right now, and not planning on letting go of her knife anytime
soon. She heads towards the door, doing her best to control her
sparking horn, not wanting to draw attention to herself.

The energy towels vanished, and Nyx took an automatic step
backwards as Mana was held at knifepoint. The bit of wood under
her back hooves creaked ominously, as it was perched on top of a
significant pile of debris. Nyx's ears perked up as she had a
idea, eyes flicking to Broadshield. She had seen him attack the
pegasus in the air, he clearly knew how to use a weapon. And
there wasn't much Nyx could do with her constructs in this
situation...
Nyx took a quiet breath to prepare herself, before catching
Broadshield's gaze. As Foxtrot distracted the griffin, the red
unicorn clearly mouthed to Broadshield, "Get ready." Then she
raised her voice. "Okay, okay...." She placated the griffin, and
the dome around the enemy pegasus disappeared. Nyx looked back
at Broadshield and she lowered her head as if preparing a spell.
"Sorry to do this," she told him. She took another deliberate
step backward, putting as much weight as possible on her back
hooves and preparing herself. "But it's for your own g- AUGH!"
Even though she anticipated what was coming, she still let out a
cry of surprise is the wood below her gave and she fell into the
pile of rubble. She had expected a fall of a few feet, enough to
hopefully distract the griffin, while still clearly "disabling"
herself before she could do anything to stop Broadshield. And a
few feet is what she got, before she met the ground with a loud
thump. What she didn't expect was the stab of pain that went
through one of her hindlegs. She slowly raised her head enough
to see a sizable splinter of wood embedded in it. She groaned
quietly, and started to pull herself up. Her part had been
played, but she had a feeling all hell was about to break loose
in the barn, and she needed to get out of this hole.

Broadshield can feel the energy flowing through his wings
attempting to staunch the bleeding, he knows that there is a
protective barrier protecting his target, but all he wants is to
get a hold of her. He charges into the barrier, the field giving
way a little bit, but ultimately sending him bouncing off a few
feet away, the right side of his body in pain from not only the
terrible reaction to the unknown liquid, but also from smashing
into the field. Getting back up he punches the barrier twice to
no effect, still seething.
He looks over to the griffon as she is making her demands. His
eyes dart back to Nyx who is healing him and barring him from
assaulting the mare, his eyes shooting a look to her that says
"Don't." As he does that, he sees her mouth a simple message,
but he gets the idea. Turning his body parallel to Nyx and the
archer, while still keeping a ready pose and glaring daggers at
Nyx, he watches as she stumbles back and falls. In that brief
second, he launches himself at the pegasus archer with all the
strength his hind legs and his left wing can muster, a chore
considering what he put himself through. His perseverance pays
off, as he tackles the archer down, immediately turning the
tackle into a grapple, and leaving her in a tight headlock.
"Wingless over here demands that you let go of Mana right now
and explain yourself," he yells out, beginning to tighten his
headlock. "Unless you want my hooves to slip!" he demands. He
knows now that unless the griffon agrees, they are stuck in a
Mexican standoff.

Glory eyes Fox as he rolls over, still not sounding very good...
Whatever it was he did seems to have worked though, and it's not
long before he stands up. With that crisis dealt with, Glory
turns her attention back to the griffin, now holding Mana
hostage. She narrows her eyes, trying to think of a way out of
this mess. But in the end, there's not much she can do from her
present position, and she tosses the two pistols on the ground
and steps away from them. She turns her attention away from the
griffin as Foxtrot questions her, looking toward the two red
ponies and the captured pegasus. She takes a few steps forward
as the shield drops and Broad tackles the pegasus, and she
quickly glances back at the griffin to see if Mana's okay. She
looks back at Broad and her eyes narrow into a glare. That stunt
could have easily gotten Mana killed, but he doesn't much seem
to care. She takes a deep breath, eyes darting back and forth.
Glory had noticed by now that the griffin and her friends hadn't
been trying to seriously hurt anyone, at least until things got
desperate. Now the situation is worse than ever, and she doesn't
even know who Broad is or where he came from. He hadn't been
with the group when they came out to investigate. If he does
something stupid and reckless... "Calm down." She says, looking
back toward Broadshield. "I'm sure we can talk this out without
anyone else getting hurt." She creeps back toward Fox, keeping
her pistols in the corner of her eye.

“Yeah, because that always gets us somewhere, right?” The
griffin scoffed at Foxtrot’s suggestion, her eyes doing their
best to keep track of as much of the barn as she could, “Dance
around and waste everyone’s time? Not tonight.”
When Onyx and Broadshield pulled their stunt, Thunder whipped
his attention back in time to witness it and dread the outcome.
Almost doing the exact opposite of what the griffin had
demanded, and at the risk of his friend’s life no less, it was
easy to guess why Thunder didn’t look in any way assured and
instead glared at the pair in anger. Snapping back to the
griffin he half expected to see Mana missing his head but
thankfully only caught the griffin rolling her eyes at the
capture of the Pegasus.
“I thought you were better than that, kid,” the griffin said, no
hint of hesitation in her voice as her sword remained against
Mana’s throat.
“It’s an… off day,” the Pegasus choked out a reply, hooves
grabbing the ones holding her head in an instinctual struggle
against the danger.
“Nerves?” the griffin continued, attention shooting upwards for
a mere moment then doing the rounds across the people present.
“Always when I come back.” Forced out after a cough.
“Get a chance to catch up yet?”
“No. They weren’t home.”
“… Do you need me to let go?” the griffin asked, adjusting the
grip on her sword and narrowing her eyes at the others in the
room, wings twitching slightly as if prepping to move her.
“No,” A sight tremor in the pegasus’ voice as the situation made
the possibility of death very real but she still looked
determined and deadly serious even if her face was changing
color by a shade or two from the hold, “Just see to them.”
“Alright,” the griffin’s wings settled, and the blade remained
at Mana’s throat, “I will.”
“Do what you’re gonna do, boy,” she told Broadshield, words
dripping in venom, “Otherwise, the rest of you should listen to
your friend there, though I think we’d all be better off
chatting after you’ve lined up against that wall at the back.”

Foxtrot, rather, the other being occupying his actions, barely
moves at the gestures Onyx and Broadshield were doing. Just a
turn of the head and the sharpen of his eyes were all that's
needed. "Stand down Broadshield! This isn't your op and it ain't
your call." When he sees the pegasus change their colors, the
stallion's words become slightly more intense. The artificial,
digitized tone is more apparent. "You're a professional, aren't
you? Act like one." The construct feels his magic slowly
returning. What matters is who he may use it on when he can. He
turns back to the griffon, "My companion is right though. We're
all adults here; capable of reason and rationale. If you want to
exchange words instead of violence and injury, we're all ears."

As the conflict inside drew everyone's attention, Nivalia trots
and sneaks around the barn. Occasionally she peeks through the
cracks. 'My, have things escalated. The group is still
together, thankfully. Let's see who is hurt. Uh huh... yup, that
wing. The leg... Smaller stuff other than that, good. I got just
the supplies, but...' Her jade green eyes flick over to the
griffon and Mana. 'Those two. Even concealed, I can't risk
going in. Not yet.' A pair of insect wings emerge from her
back as the changeling flies up to the ceiling. 'Let's see
how this plays out. If I find an opening, I'll take it. I just
hope things don't get to that point.'

Broadshield could immediately tell that his actions are
generating a ton of hostility towards him, from all sides.
Still, he doesn't care about what others think of him at this
point. He could say a myriad of things to several creatures
present, but he knows that words of that nature will not
progress this situation past where it is now. "I'm content with
how things are at this exact moment. Are you?" he asks, in a
calm, yet steely tone to both the griffon with her sword at
Mana's throat, and the pegasus who he has in a headlock, her
face slowly changing shade. "I won't do anything to the filly so
long as that sword doesn't move even the slightest bit closer to
that stallion's throat. If you put the sword away, I'll let her
go, no strings attached, no back-stabbing, no going back on my
word, none of that." he says. While yes he was still angry and
pained over the wing, right now his priorities had changed in
the advent of the recent result of the events, and quite
honestly, his and Onyx's actions. As such, he immediately
stopped putting more pressure on the pegasus' oesophagus, a bit
of colour slowly returning to her face, but still held firm and
ensured that the archer couldn't move out of her position. The
second that the sword was put away, he would honor his word and
let go of the filly, but until then...
"Here's a question to start, since you don't seem like the kind
to beat around the bush. Why? What did you honestly hope to gain
by attacking us first as opposed to telling us what you want
from us? While yes, I do concede that some individuals behaviour
in our party were certainly... unwarranted," he says, looking
straight at Thunder and referencing his less-than-professional
entrance just moments earlier, as well as himself, his own
actions resulting in the mess the group as a whole was currently
in, "I certainly wouldn't be calling your instigation to be
professional either. I'm quite sure that most ponies here are
more than willing to talk here," he says, intentionally leaving
the 'most' in that part ambiguous, "As opposed to having to
defend themselves before we get what's going on." he finishes.

Glory stops edging toward Fox as the griffin and the pegasus
have their exchange, and starts to get the distinct feeling that
there's been some sort of mistake. It's certainly not the sort
of thing she would expect from a group here to destroy the town.
She pauses for a few moments, considering the situation. There's
still little she can do here, but... at least she can avoid
making things worse. She starts moving off toward the wall the
griffin had indicated, while still trying to keep an eye on
everypony in the barn. "You guys aren't just theives,
obviously." She says to the griffin and then looks around to
everyone else. "And you also weren't really trying to hurt us.
Take us prisoner, maybe." She stops moving, frowning slightly as
she thinks. "But what would you stand to gain from it? Why go
through the trouble to set all this up? I'm betting you didn't
leave that trail right to here on accident. So why lure us out?"

Nyx pulled herself out of the hole, her energy rope vanishing as
she stood up. She tried to keep the weight off her injured leg,
which had a small but steady stream of blood trickling down it.
Nyx didn't say a word, simply observing as the others conversed
and trying to prepare herself lest the situation get even
messier.
