"I think swamp skulls are in short supply around these parts."
Glory comments at Thunder with a roll of her eyes. Turning to
Mana, she nods. "I don't think any of us are willing to wait
around for the guard to show up, at this point." She gives a
quick grin and follows behind Mana as he approaches the door.
While he obviously can't get a real good look at the interior,
it sounds like the thieves are just standing around and
discussing something. Which meant they probably didn't expect
their crime to be discovered for quite some time. Possibly they
also didn't realize they'd been leaving a trail either. She
follows Mana and Thunder in, her steps silent thanks to her
experience with the Vigil. Just two thieves, and no sign of any
stolen goods. Glory frowns. They couldn't have left or hidden it
somewhere, the trail led directly to the barn. But where is it
now, then? Glory moves aside to let the others through, glancing
around in suspicious as she moves into a clear firing line to
the thieves... Or tries to, until PLO barges right in and stomps
his way over to the pair, completely ruining any and all
attempts at stealth. She brings a hoof to her forehead and
groans. Has he never heard of subtlety? With a sigh she steps
forward into the light as well, covering the fool in case the
thieves spook and try to jump him. "You can't get away." She
adds, giving them a glare, though not before she turns it
briefly on PLO first. "We've got the door covered and there's
more of us than there are of you."

Re: Weaver
By: Mana Burn Date: March 4, 2018, 11:55 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The two ponies didn’t react to Onyx and her risky scoots, and by
getting closer she’d be able to pick up a little more of what
they were saying even if it did raise some confusion or concern.
Their conversation carried on with them touching on similar
subjects as mentioned before, but a pattern started to show
itself after a short time. Their back and forth appeared to be
fitting in the words “Green Lion”, “powder”, “lock”, “escape”,
“payment”, “guards,” and “job” every other sentence with each
being said slightly louder than the rest of their words. The
chance to share this with the others, who would continue to
struggle to understand from where each of them were, would be
destroyed soon after the realization due to the brazen challenge
issued by PLO.
“Alright, break!” Thunder would say immediately afterwards,
clapping his hooves together and then vaulting over the crate he
had been hiding behind to join the stallion confronting the
thieves. This, perhaps, was the first step in whatever plan he’d
been trying to communicate to Mana, Mana being left to sputter
out an ignored demand for the Pegasus to belay whatever orders
he’d given himself as Thunder put them in motion.
With a flourish, Thunder landed amongst the trio - soon quartet
with the addition of Glory - in the small light of the candle,
nodding along with what PLO had demanded as Mana made a sharp
turn around his barrel to take a position beside him. With a
flick of his horn Mana caused its tip to light up and cast a
focused beam of light in the suspected duo’s direction much in
the same way Foxtrot had used his hoof to lead them here.
“Hooves up, chumps!” Thunder barked, “Where I can see ‘em! No
sudden moves or you’ll get rolling power-bombed through one of
those boxes over there!”
“Calm it down, Thunder,” Mana fought the urge to roll his eyes
at the threat, “lets try and pretend we’re professional here,
eh?”
“Nothing more professional than a perfectly executed
power-bomb!”
The two ponies, now firmly confronted, had not turned to address
the group after PLO had first stepped up. His and Thunder’s
demands would go ignored and for several seconds after their
appearances a silence would take hold of the barn. Then they
both would turn to look over those gathered, look back at each
other and smirk.
From somewhere in the barn came the soft sound of a deep sigh.
Then, suddenly and from the darkness above, something dropped
down directly onto Thunder, it causing a rush of air that
snuffed out the light of the candle and plunged the room into
darkness. Anyone who’d seen it in time wouldn’t get a clear
enough look to identify it yet but would be able to recognize
that it had large wings, while anyone who’d been watching the
pair of thieves near the candle would see that the pegasus’ own
wings had zipped her upwards just before the light died out.
Even Thunder was left in the dark, in both ways, as to what had
forced him to the ground as the wind was knocked out of him.
Mana reacted by attempting to swing his horn’s light towards his
downed friend but would fail to reveal much as his horn was
grabbed and jerked upwards and pointed towards the rafters. Mana
would then struggle to keep the light going at all as his horn
flickered and died out. Immediately after Mana could be heard
coughing loudly and soon collapsing to the floor.
Everything, from the smirks to the collapse of Mana had been
executed over a mere handful of seconds. Thunder, feeling the
weight of whoever had taken him down lift, coughed out a promise
of multiple power-bombs being delivered before the sun came up
while a metallic banging started to come from the center of the
room. Soon the stallion from before could be seen again, and it
was obvious that the sound and a growing blue light was coming
from him though it appeared to be caused by how his hoof was
beating against his chest. A few strikes later and he stood up,
his body looking to blur from the motions before having the
illusion melt away and reveal a full suit of armor. An inlay on
the armor glowed a dull blue and was acting as a source of light
for the stallion, illuminating his immediate surroundings and a
good portion of the barn but not being strong enough to reach
the walls or the rafters above much like the candle before only
a little stronger.
“Come get us.” He challenged back at the group, clear sounds of
his allies moving about in the dark places around them.

Things went south, fast. Mana and Thunder temporarily out of
commission, as well as things going dark certainly merits more
aggressive action. Cursing in his mind, his back hoof slams the
barn door shut to keep the thieves from escaping. The stallions
front hoof glows brightly as he points it towards the ceiling.
*Pop! Skreeee!*
An orb of magical light flies into the air; the tried and true
flare. One problem sorted, a much bigger one to take down. The
unicorn looks around. He should've brought his weapon, but he
didn't. Now to improvise. His second hoof points to the armored
fiend. Short bursts of magic volley towards them. It won't take
him down, but he'll certainly get his attention. "My thoughts
exactly, mother bucker!"

Nyx frowned at what she heard, something just seeming... wrong
with the whole situation. With the odd repetition and growing
volume, it's like the two thieves were trying to be heard. Now
that Nyx thought about it, the whole trail that had led directly
to the barn seemed a little too... convenient. She barely even
noticed the others confronting the pair, her eyes slowly
widening as one word formed in her head.
Trap.
Everything happened remarkably quickly after that. Nyx's first
instinct was to put a solid dome of protection around the group,
but she knew she wouldn't be fast enough. A simple dome over a
group in an open space, now that would be very easy to do. But
the group had drifted apart, some near the door, others further
in. The crates didn't makes things simpler. Nyx would have to
form a wall that was strong enough, and bring it down quickly
enough to smash the crates in order to reach the ground. Ponies
were moving too quickly, it would be too dangerous.
As she heard movement behind her, she knew she needed to get a
wall behind her. As the flare lit up the barn, she immediately
leapt and positioned herself so no one from the group was
between her and one of the barn's walls. Her horn glowed and it
took mere seconds to construct a thin, but shatter-proof wall,
that seemed to be made of nothing more than golden energy. With
a quick movement of her head, the upright wall, starting sliding
and gathering speed towards the wall of the barn. Any pony
caught between the two walls would be smashed back into the wall
with enough force to break bones, if the targets didn't protect
themselves in some way. Nyx didn't really mean to move the wall
so quickly, it had been more intended as a trap, but adrenaline
was rushing through her veins and she didn't seem to realize how
much power she was using.

Tinder had been doing her best to stay out of the way as they
reached the barn, knowing her sparks might give them away. It's
not till she hears the commotion that she enters with the rest,
wishing she had her magic right about now. With no use of her
magic she grabs the next best thing, the engraved knife from her
bag, wielding it in her teeth as she approaches the crowd. Her
ears on a swivel, listening for anything that might be coming
near her, ready to slash if it does. With all the bodies in here
it is gonna end up being difficult for her to know friend from
foe though...

PLO shouts an exclamation of surprise when they're plunged into
darkness, stepping back from Thunder as something drops on him.
His horn flashes and crackles with electricity, briefly giving
him the barest hint of illumination, before it arcs down his
neck and leg to his hoof which he swings at whatever had
dropped. He finds himself swinging at air, though, connecting
with nothing and shooting out a lightning bolt that sails above
Thunder and into a barrel, demolishing it.
"Villains!" he shouts, wheeling to face the metal armored
stallion again. "Miscreants! Deviants!" He charges another bolt
at his horn, bathing his face in a brilliant yellow glow. "You
vhill submit or you vhill be made to submit!" He touches one
hoof to his horn and it arcs up his leg and down the other to
shoot off in the direction of the stallion.

For a brief moment, Glory thinks things might be going well.
Thunder and Mana arriving to stand alongside her and PLO should
have any regular thieves ready to give up. It should make things
nice and simple, and they can get back the stolen goods from
wherever it's been hidden and take the burglars in to the guard.
They don't seem in the least concerned though, and alarm bells
start going off in Glory's head right before the pegasus leaps
into the rafters and the lights go out. Glory wastes no time in
ducking to the side, toward where she thinks some of the boxes
are, though she has no way of knowing just how close she is to
cover in the darkness. She rips open the still-buttoned shirt
she's wearing and goes for one of her pistols, popping up from
what she hopes is cover just in time for Fox's flare to light up
the armored stallion... and make her miss the glow from the
armor's runes. She wastes no time in loosing her shot, though
the bullet hardly does any more than bounce off the armor, and
spins to face whatever it was that pounced on Thunder with her
other pistol raised.

Re: Weaver

The stallion found the response amusing, or so his grin
suggested. He didn’t appear to put any effort into attempting to
avoid the volley of magic from Foxtrot, merely bracing for and
taking the hits as they came. Under the new light of the flair
it was difficult to pick up that each impact sent a soft pulse
through the armor’s inlay and increased the intensity of its
glow similarly to how he’d beat against it before, though this
would soon be covered up anyway by the electricity from PLO that
arced across his body and lock him in place. His pained and
jittery growl filtered through gritted teeth lasted for a few
seconds as the electricity worked its way through him, it
shifting to a coughing fit of curses as he recovered with the
stallion maintaining a trembling stand. Catching sight of the
wall being sent across the room, the stallion’s face lit back up
and no attempt was made to avoid it. It collided into his side
and continued on to crash into the barn’s wall.
While that was going on, Glory would indeed come to face what
had landed on Thunder. Her pistol however would not as it found
itself clutched in the grip of a claw that threw off its aim and
wasted its shot, the bullet firing off into one of the support
beams for the barn. The claw’s owner, revealed to be a griffon
and explaining the wings from before, attempted to use the now
loose shirt Glory was wearing to her advantage by grabbing the
back and pulling it back over the mare’s head to obscure her
vision. With this window, the griffon used one of her wings to
toss herself into a side flip over the mare, a sword being drawn
from her back in the process which she pointed in Glory’s
direction upon landing. Without taking her eyes off Glory the
griffon whistled sharply and jabbed her other claw in Onyx’s
direction. Obviously a signal, this gesture led to several
arrows being fired from the rafters above.
The Pegasus who’d fled upwards before was the one responsible as
she’d recovered a stashed short bow and was now using it to fire
upon her designated target. They traveled slightly slower than
the average arrow and their heavy impacts and lack of stick gave
reason to believe they were blunted. The Pegasus never fired
from the same position twice, her wings being put to good use as
she zipped about to find new angles and stay mobile.
Meanwhile, pinned between walls both mundane and magical, the
stallion before now found himself bathed in an intense blue
light that overpowered that of the flare and washed over the
interior of the barn. With a groan he shifted, with a grunt he
pressed the magical wall from him and with a shout he was able
to shove it back enough to angle himself into a buck that broke
it away entirely. Free, he rolled his shoulders and kissed the
plate of metal strapped to his front leg before kicking away the
collected debris of several crates and barrels with ease. He
then turned and broke into a worryingly unimpeded sprint back
towards PLO, whatever getting in his way being blown aside as if
they weighed nothing at all while each gallop leaving fizzling
blue hoofprints in the dirt. He did not seem to be planning to
stop regardless what or who he trampled.
Thunder, now managing to force himself back into some use,
winced at a new bruise he was experiencing on the center of his
back as he groaned his way over towards Mana. Checking on him –
a brief pause needed to duck under some flying pieces of wood –
Thunder was able to figure out his condition. Good news was that
Mana wasn’t dead, merely unconscious. Bad news was that Mana was
unconscious and therefore of no help.
“This never would have happened if we’d just stuck to my plan,”
Thunder claimed, his wings extending out with a schwing as he
readied their blades and tried to gauge the situation.

The whole sequence of events from him overhearing the
conversation to the group now at the barn flies by for
Broadshield, almost like he is following the group physically
but mentally he isn't really present. He shakes his head to
clear his thoughts just as shit goes down, sprinting to nearby
cover and drawing out his knife out of his hoof sheath. "I don't
need a gun to kill these guys." he mutters as he readies the
knife and takes off, giving chase to the pegasus with the bow.
"Come and fight me!" he yells as he chases after the flying
assailant, intent with driving his knife through their body.

Nyx didn't even bother to watch the effect of her wall, too busy
trying to keep an eye on the many things happening at once. Her
eyes alighted upon the griffon, and she braced herself for some
sort of attack. Unfortunately, she didn't expect anything to
come from above, and was unprepared as the arrows rained down.
An arrow hit her directly on her shoulder, with enough force
that Nyx had to quickly widen her stance to keep from falling.
Its blunted nature kept her skin from being pierced, but that
didn't stop it from hurting like hell. Nyx breathed a curse,
practically already feeling a bruise blooming as the arrow
dropped to the ground.
A simple golden shield was conjured, and a couple more arrows
thunked solidly against it. Nyx watched the attacking pegasus
dart around, while the stallion trapped by her wall freed
himself. The wall no longer of any use, it disappeared.
Meanwhile, Nyx was crafting a much more advanced weapon. A large
longbow nearly as tall as her was formed, and Nyx nocked a sharp
energy arrow. She narrowed her eyes, still maintaining the
shield and aiming just above it and towards the pegasus.
Nyx had never shot an arrow in her life, of course. But she had
always been great at physics, surely it couldn't be too
difficult. The path of the arrow quickly proved her assumptions
wrong, however, coming nowhere near Nyx's attacker. She frowned,
but kept the energy bow intact. Seeing Broadshield take to the
air, Nyx realized that even if she couldn't hit her target
directly, she could at least try slowing her down and hopefully
help Broadshield. After forming a new, slightly modified arrow,
it flew in the general direction of the female pegasus. Whether
it hit wood or flesh, sparks of energy would burst from the
arrow's tip upon impact.
Nyx immediately formed another arrow, and another, firing them
rapidly. The impacts caused mini fireworks to burst all over the
upper part of the barn, hopefully dazzling the pegasus and
making her slow down a bit. As for Broadshield. Nyx didn't worry
too much, fairly confident the guard could dodge anything that
was sent his way in Nyx's quest to at least hit somewhere near
the bow-wielding pegasus.
At this point, all her constructs were still made purely of gold
energy, but Nyx knew she was burning through her own store of
magic quickly.
