Re: Weaver
By: Foxtrot Date: December 3, 2017, 2:53 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Foxtrot couldn't help but clench his jaw slightly when he looks
over to the mare falling on her face. That must've hurt. Despite
the urge to help, he knew he had to keep up with Mana and
Thunder on their way to the inn. He keeps pressing forward,
although he knows his sister may lag a bit behind. Despite who
she is, what others would see her as if she *really* was
herself, she wasn't one to ignore a pony in need. Plus, as the
head of a medical organization, any chance to practice her craft
won't be missed. Regardless, she'll catch up. No matter how far
they become, how lost they may be, they always end up finding
each other. The stallion trots close behind the rather comedic
pair, nodding to their responses as he tries not to be audible
in his chuckles. Following Mana's instruction, he tails behind
Thunder as they make their way to the inn. The atmosphere was
rather pleasant, and it certainly isn't because it's out of the
harsh sunlight outside. It's very cozy in here, the fireplace
itself appearing to be spot he'll lounge around during the
evenings. Eyeing up the guests in line in front of them, he
mentally notes them but pays them no mind. Right now he just has
to worry about signing in, finding the room, dropping his things
off, and meeting up with Nivalia and Tinder to show them the
room as well. They have to sign in too, can't forget that.
Actually, since he's here, he circles around Thunder and signs
his name by hoof; usually he'd use his magic, but old habits die
hard.

As Fox went and followed the two stallions further into the
town, Nivalia's attention was drawn to the mare who had just
collapsed onto the ground. Immediately at the sight of blood,
she enters her caregiver mindset. Although another pegasus was
assisting with retrieving the wounded mare's bag and offering a
tissue, the changeling's medic bag opens up. "My, that looks
like quite a spill you took there." A rag emerges from her pack
and levitates over to the red unicorn, dusting away dirt and
debris from her coat and mane. A small roll of her signature
medical wraps floats out. With a pull and a tear, a small
snippet, perfectly sized for the wound in question, gently
hovers over to her. One side is lined with a blue with a thin
layer of gel. Upon application to the affected area, the
recipient would be met with a cooling sensation on their wound
as it is cleaned and sealed under the vanilla colored bandage.
"This will certainly help with that scuff you have on your face.
Although I advise using that tissue to clean up the wound
first." Nivalia turns back to find Foxtrot fading out through
the crowd. "Oh, Tinder. Can you follow behind Fox? He's probably
heading to the inn right now." A smile appears on her face, "I'm
sure you'll enjoy getting there as fast as possible. Don't wait
for me, dear. I'll catch up soon enough." She knows her friend
isn't too fond of the heat, and with today's weather, her well
being is also a priority.

Tinder doesn't seem to be paying a whole lot of attention to
what's going on around her, not even noticing the mare fall. As
she hears her name she looks over and nods, doing her best to
keep up with the disappearing Foxtrot, not wanting to be lost in
the crowd. She doesn't even know why she's here, if she gets
lost she may not find her way back.

“Thank you,” Nyx told the blue pegasus gratefully, taking her
bag and setting it by her. She looked over when the unicorn with
strange green aura approached her as well. Her eyes narrowed
slightly, zeroing in on the levitated rag. She couldn’t detect
any other shades of green… it had to be all of the unicorn’s own
magic. But… how? She was so focused on the mystery, she realized
she hadn’t been listening and only caught the tail end of what
the dark unicorn said.
“Right, of course,” she said, not taking her eyes off the aura
around the offered bandage. She took the tissue in her hoof, and
awkwardly dabbed at the blood, more used to levitation, but
unwilling to show her mixed aura… especially in front of the
impossible mare. “Thank you, both of you. I’m usually not that
clumsy. Regardless, I’m very appreciative of the help.” As she
spoke, she felt the bandage meet the worst of the scrape. The
cooling sensation was of great relief, and Nyx’s muscles relaxed
slightly. “Woah, that feels amazing. Do you work in healthcare
or something?" she asked the unicorn. Glancing back to the
pegasus, she added, “My name is Onyx Lotus, by the way. It’s a
pleasure to meet you both.” She purposefully gave her full name,
as she was known by most ponies as simply “Nyx.”

"Nice to meet you, Onyx. I'm Serenity. Coming up here because my
sister couldn't make it this year." She takes a moment to smooth
down the pocket of her bag. "Glad we could help. Come here
often?" She seems a little antsy to get moving towards the inn.
Just a little, though.

While some ponies are checking in at the desk, a ruckus starts
up the stairs before a stallion trundles down them. He's
sporting a good amount of luggage on his back and shouting back
up the stairs things like, "No. No. No more. I'm leaving. No!"
He pushes his way out the door in a huff, not bothering to look
back once he's out.
"Fine. Then a good day to you," PLO calls after the retreating
pony from the top of the stairs. His jet-black mane is matted
with sweat and his black cloak plastered against his coat. The
heat is bad enough for everypony else, and his dark coloring
isn't doing him any favors in that regard either. Not that his
bearing would betray any hint that it's bothering him. He stands
tall and proud, looking down from the second floor. "Miss
Spirit, it seems that my roommate has left the premises, leaving
a vacancy in the room."

Tungsten hesitates to start getting a room in order, thinking
back on how distressed Brash seemed. The runes she drew have
fully faded into his armor, but the weight was still gone and it
began to cool him down regardless of the heat.
After the minor ruckus Tungsten clears his throat and approaches
the desk, giving the stallion at the top of the stairs a glance
before rolling his eyes back to the receptionist, "Hey, uh,
something on the first floor if you can." Although the pony at
the desk tries for a bit of chatter, Tungsten unintentionally
shuts it down with his low energy answers and quickly receives a
room key.

By: Faded Glory Date: December 16, 2017, 10:27 pm

Faded Glory rubs at her tired eyes as the last of the tourists
heads off into town, grumbling quietly to herself. What was
taking the others so long anyway? It was probably that Day Lily
from Fillydelphia getting caught up in the festivities. She'd
spent half the ride here going on and on about different vendors
and random trivia about the town's history like she wasn't here
to investigate dangerous monster attacks. Glory is so busy
mentally disparaging her co-investigator in fact that she
doesn't even notice her relief arrive until he taps her on the
shoulder. "Yah!" She gives a light shriek of surprise and her
eyes dart around for a moment before she recovers herself. "Oh,
Harvestman. You here to take over?" The stallion gives a nod and
takes a look around the street. "See anything interesting?" He
asks, and Glory hands over a notepad with some basic
descriptions of anything of interest. "A few things here and
there, nothing that really stands out though." Harvestman flicks
through the pad briefly, nodding again. "You look like you're
about to pass out on your hooves. Go ahead and head back to the
Green Lion and lay down for a bit." Glory stifles a yawn and
nods in thanks, turning away to walk down the street. "Next
arrival is still a while off, you probably have time to check a
few of them out before then." She trudges off in the direction
of the hotel, still trying to keep an eye out for anything
strange despite her fatigue. There's nothing out of the ordinary
until she arrives at the inn, where a there is a cart now parked
out front. While this isn't too unusual itself, she makes a
mental note to ask Lily what she can find out about it's owner
later. She walks past and through into the blessed coolness of
the inn, and takes a moment to enjoy being out of the hot sun.
Her enjoyment is short lived however as she almost immediately
notices the pony in thick black armored plates, looking for all
the world like an evil warlord jumped right out of a storybook.
She blinks and stares for a few seconds. Surely whoever is
causing the strange appearences couldn't be that obvious. She
rubs at her eyes again and heads for the alchemist shop portion
of the inn. She certainly can't head upstairs to bed with that
walking around. Glory supposes she could go get Lily to do it,
but the mare was likely to focus so much on Mr Black Knight that
she'd miss any other clues. Like the appearance of their former
number one suspect at the top of the stairs, having apparently
driven off his current roommate with his... personality. She
keeps an eye on the both of them as she pretends to browse,
noting the withdrawn nature of his responses. She'll have to see
if she can pick up a name to get to Lily later.

By: Mana Burn Date: December 17, 2017, 1:52 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
After the exchange at the stairs Spirit smirked and looked back
at the other mare working the opposite end of the counter whilst
retrieving a key for Tungsten and taking his information.
"Hey, Alacrity!" she would call after checking the sign in
sheet, the named pony huffing and tossing a more bothered
response back at Spirit.
"I know! I heard... You'll get your bits later..." Spirit
giggled while Alacrity tried to pretend she didn't exist and
instead playfully addressed the mare browsing the wares of the
shop, "Hello! Finding everything okay? Whatever you might be
looking for I'm sure we've got something. The Green Lion is THE
premiere potion bar this side of nowhere after all. So says this
unbiased mare at least."
"First floor, just beyond the stairs," Spirit returned her
attention to Tungsten, passing on his key for room 103 and
seeming to not be bothered the least by his hurry, "If you need
anything else just let us know, we'd be happy to help!"
Thunder would eye the stallion's armor once more as he stepped
away but let it go since he now knew he was checking in not out
and overheard the general area to search if he felt a need to
find him. Then again this place wasn't all that big so it most
likely wouldn't be too hard regardless of the information. It
now being his turn, he stepped up with a broad smile.
"Hello, ma'am," he'd begin, dragging his suitcase behind him the
few feet it needed to go while suffering what felt like yards of
effort for his admittedly reluctant and mildly lazy ass, "I'm
looking for one of the biggest rooms you've got for a temporary
stay of three and enough breathing room for a possible twenty or
thirty extra once word gets out that I'm here."
"Well, you could rent the building, but that's not covered by
the festival offer and it can get really cold in here by
yourself," the mare replied without missing a beat, Thunder
chuckling a little while Spirit consulted her books, "I think we
may have lost our last triple recently but I'mma check. Go ahead
and sign in for yourself and we'll see what we have."
Thunder did as he was told, jotting down his name and glancing
about the area while Spirit searched for answers. She hummed and
pulled the sign in sheet over to check his signature then
squinted in what looked like confusion.
"... Is something wrong?" Thunder asked after a few too many
seconds went by.
"No, I just feel like there's something... Oh!" Spirit digging
up whatever she'd been trying to remember, ducked behind her
counter and placed two keys and an envelope on the couter before
Thunder, "There ya go!"
"Where did I go?" Thunder asked with a tilt of his head at the
items, "What's going where?"
"Your rooms! Two rooms with two beds each?" suddenly less
confident, Spirit consulted another smaller book she'd been
keeping on her side only to nod and reaffirm, "Thunder, Mana
Burn and Foxtrot, right?"
It was about this time that Mana entered into the building, his
papers once again neatly folded and stored in his saddlebags
while his luggage still balanced on his back. Thunder would
glance over towards him in time to see Mana wipe away a build up
of sweat from his brow and heft his luggage down to give himself
a break.
"Yeah..." Thunder squinted a little and wasn't super thrilled to
hear the names, "When was this reserved exactly? I don't
remember anyone telling me they'd sent word ahead so it's just a
bit of a surprise is all."
"Couple days ago?" Spirit tried, tapping a hoof to her chin as
she attempted to remember, "I remember it was when most of the
current guests were signing in and that it was a stallion? I
think he was orange... No, yello- wait! Orange! I think. Sorry,
we helped a lot of people that day so they all kind of blended
together..."
"That's alright, I'll probably remember who it might have been
once they send me a letter telling me I owe them," Thunder gave
Spirit a smile to relax and took the keys and envelope, "Anyway,
I guess that will just make it easier to get to the fun out
there. Thanks!"
"Yup, just let us know if theres anything else you need!"
Thunder nodded and left the counter then made his way over
towards Foxtrot whom had been joined by Mana shortly after he'd
come inside. Mana was sorting something out in his bag so
Thunder would toss a key to Foxtrot - room 204 - and a question
to both.
"Either of you know an orange - possibly yellow - stallion who
knew we were coming? Seems we had two keys and our names waiting
for us here."
"Absolutely not," Mana replied without hesitation, looking up
from his bag with half-lidded eyes that were not surprised that
something had already gone awry, "this vacation of ours was near
spur of the moment, like a trip to Las Peagsus, remember?
Sending people ahead to secure rooms is very planned and not in
the least impulsive, but I suppose it's not impossible someone
from back home may have wanted to make sure we had somewhere to
stay and sent word. Unless you have a buddy that wanted to
surprise you?"
Mana directed that last bit to Fox while Thunder remembered the
envelope he'd been given. Slipping the remaining key into his
bag - 205 - he tore it open with his teeth to find an extremely
short note.
You be good now, ya hear?
"Oh, this can only be fun." Thunder promised with a grin and
passed the unsigned note to the others.

As Foxtrot takes the keys and unsigned note, he shakes his head,
"Not anyone I'm familiar with. I mean, not having to worry about
getting rooms is a plus. But, not knowing exactly how we got
these rooms somewhat warrants the opposite feeling. Still, it's
just rooms to sleep in, what-" The stallion cuts himself off. He
knows if he finishes that sentence with 'is the worst that can
happen?' then the absolute worst thing happens. "matters is what
we have to do here." Foxtrot slings his ruck sack over his
shoulder again, placing his room key in one of his front
pockets. The note itself is placed in the same compartment. If
it's something important, privacy would definitely be nice when
reading it. Besides, he has to wait for two more mares to
arrive.
