Welcome Reunions - Throne Room

With the guests dispersing, Glacier wasted no time flying over
to her son, squeezing him so tight she lifts him off the ground,
and barrages him with motherly love. "My Ebby! Oh sweetie I'm so
proud of you!" Letting go, she wipes the tears from her cheek.
"Oh you look so handsome! Colonel Coldsteel? I have no words."
Glacier looks over to Foxtrot and repeats her greeting. "And my
other handsome stallion! How are you?"
Foxtrot grins and returns his hug in full, "Aunty Glacy! Still
looking as amazing as ever! I'm doing fine, thank you! Oh! And
thank you for the jacket lining. Got it last month and it's
worked wonders!"
"Your socks are still top notch Glacy," a voice calls out. The
older noctral turns around to find a familiar mare trotting over
in her emerald green dress. The both squeal with excitement as
they hurry over and hug. "Aunt Glacy! You're looking so good!
Have you gotten my tea?"
"I've been drinking it since!" Glacier nods, "And the medicine
has been put to good use. The whole region thanks you." The mare
steps over and pulls Fox and Ebony closer. With Nivalia in the
middle, Glacier wraps her hoofs and wings over them. "I have all
three of my bambinis here again. And you're all safe." She's
overcome with a bitter sweetness; she knows the dangers they've
faced recently, and she's grateful they're alive. Tears cascade
down her face as she tries to keep herself composed. Fox, Ebony,
and Niv all return the embrace. After a moment, she lets go and
takes a step back, "Alright, I'm ok."
Now free to trot around, Foxtrot looks over to find a familiar
face, "Tinder! Hey!" He walks over and lightly hugs her, "How's
it going? It's been forever since we've last seen each other."

Meanwhile, Avery stands quietly to the side as the four hug.
Glacier was obviously a huge part in all of their lives, it was
really sweet to watch. Once they were done she trots over and
gives Ebony a hug. "I can't top your mother, but I'm super proud
of you too." She looks over at the unfamiliar mare in the green
dress and offers her a hoof, "I'm Avery, you must be Niv, these
two speak very fondly of you." Her voice was kind and friendly
as usual.

Tinder follows close behind Niv as they walk towards the group,
once she recognizes the faces she backs off a bit, knowing that
Niv is not in any danger here. Her eye's drift around the room
as the lot talks and hugs, not wanting to interrupt this sweet
moment. As soon as Fox addresses her, her ears perk up a bit,
hugging him back tightly, she missed him. "Fox, it's been to
long, I was starting to worry about you." She lets him go after
a moment and looks him over, making sure he's been taking care
of himself. "I've been well, Niv hired me to do security at her
store, so that's been taking up most of my time. How about you?
Where have you been? You must have been busy since you didn't
even come visit."

With a surprised smile, Nivalia shakes Avery's hoof. "Ah! So
you're the Avery Ebby has been telling me about. It's a pleasure
to meet you!" Letting go of her hoof, Nivalia spots a familiar
mare in the corner of her vision. "Oh, I just spotted another
friend of mine. Pardon me." Before she trots over to the others,
Nivalia gives Avery a light hug. A sensational warmth would be
felt by the pegasus until she lets go. "Hey guys, I'm gonna
catch up with someone. I'll meet up with you all later." She
gives Glacier a departing hug and kiss, then trots off through
the crowd.
"Niv! Find us at the Ballroom!" Foxtrot shouts before looking
back over to Tinder, "Well, I'm in the same boat as you. I
signed back up with the guard and have been stationed here. It's
great, but I've already been shot so that's a rough start. Still
holding up well though. But!" He wraps his hoof around her
shoulder, "I'm famished. How about we all grab a bite to eat and
head over to the Ballroom? Colonel Coldsteel has some stand up
to perform for everyone."

"Nice to meet you!" Avery added in before Niv trotted off. She
looked back at Ebony and Glacier, feeling happier than usual,
"Well she was nice!" The mare stood next to Glacier and looked
back at Ebony, "I'm really excited to see what you have in store
for us!"

Tinder smiles and leans into him a bit as he wraps a hoof around
her, chuckling under her breath, "I have a feeling it's not the
first time you've been shot for you to be taking it so well."
She nods a few times as food is mentioned, she hasn't exactly
eaten today, "That sounds good though, I could go for a snack
and a few drinks. I'm always up for a bit of free booze." Tinder
grins at Fox as they walk, "I'm sure this will be amazing, I
don't know if I've ever even heard Ebony tell a joke."

"Oh my son can get the whole room to laugh in seconds." She
approaches Tinder and gives her a gentle embrace, "Tinder, my
family has told me so many good things about you! Thank you for
keeping them all safe!" Her wing reaches up to wipe some tears
away. She takes a step back, "Ok, now I'm getting hungry.
Alright group, let's get going!" With that said, she leads
everyone out through the castle. Despite its size, the older
mare knew each hall and turn like the back of her hoof. Ebony
was saluted by every guard that trotted by him; Glacier couldn't
be any more proud! It would take some time, but eventually they
finished in the Dining Hall and had made their way to the
Ballroom. The room was already becoming populated as music plays
out in the background. A large enough table if found. Glacier
leads the group to it and sits down. Soon, the real fun will
start!

Avery takes a seat next to Glacier, eagerly awaiting
the...well... show? Performance? Whatever it was technically
called, all she knew was that Ebony worked really hard on it.
She planned on laughing at his jokes even if they weren't funny
at all.

Tinder sticks close to Fox's side as they walk, happy to have
him back for a while. As Glacier speaks Tinder's smile grows
wider, hugging her back lightly, "Trust me, they'd do the same
for me, they already have a few times." She nods to the mare as
she walks away, moving back to Fox, "She seems really nice, you
all must be like family." She follows the rest to the ballroom,
quickly moving to sit with her group.

The moment Ebony first said a bat pun made Avery bury her face
into her wing. Of course he had bat puns, what else would he
joke about?
For a second there she was worried that his performance would go
downhill, but was thankful when his friend stepped in. Surely he
stole the show but had helped Ebony out tremendously.
At the end, Avery was laughing alongside Glacier and everypony
else, enjoying the display that just occurred.
