This is where the ceremony will begin with Princess Luna's
introduction and commemorations. Afterward, this will be the
location for casual discussions for anyone who needs space away
from the more lively sections of the castle.

Things are almost ready. Months of planning, weeks of
preparation, days of decorating, all for one night. The sun had
began to set when Princess Luna exited her chambers. Her Lunar
Guards were at full readiness. Most were gathering in the throne
room while the others either took to their posts or guided the
staff to certain areas. She surprised herself actually. Coming
up with something like this, a formal event? Still, it was worth
it. Her guards deserved the recognition; and it was chance to
show the citizens of Equestria the many wonders of the night.
Luna enters the throne room, rows upon rows of chairs were
neatly set up as fresh lavender was placed along the walls. The
princess’s horn lights up as she begins to work her magic. The
ceiling itself begins to become transparent. In moments it
appears as if it was never part of The castle to begin with. The
moon was full and the many stars dotted the clear sky. The scene
has been set. A few of the staff approach her, each holding some
sort of list or scroll. "How are the preparations coming along?"
"It's going well, your highness," one answers, "The dining hall
is set and the food should be ready once the ceremony begins.
The Ballroom has been cleared. The musicians have their
schedules and the DJ has her things ready." They flip through a
few more pages, “Royal Gardens are cleared of loose vegetation
and debris for outdoor activity and the Throne Room…” She looks
up, a small smile appearing on her face. “I see you have that
covered.”
"Wonderful!" A genuine grin emerges on Luna's face. "Thank you
all so much for getting this ready. With everyone's assistance,
this will surely be a spectacular evening! Please, open the
doors and allow the guests to come in. Have the guard stand at
attention along the windows. I need to make some final
arrangements. I’ll make my appearance shortly.” The staff nods
and trots off to their duties. This was certainly going to be a
night to remember.
As soon as the doors open, ponies from all over trot in, each
showing excitement for what's ahead. Although a majority appear
to be Noctrals, the guests are certainly diverse enough for a
good blending of cultures. They are ushered over to the throne
room, where they take their seats and await for the Lunar Ball
to begin.

Ebony had been running around all day. His hoofs were sore
underneath his boots; his dress uniform thankfully fitted to his
physique. Four rows of ribbons and two rows of medals adorned
his chest as his captain rank stands out in gold. The noctral
knows what's ahead, it's just a matter of getting through it.
Still, it wasn't a stressful time; quite the opposite. Glacier
and Avery would be with him. It was a party, plain and simple.
He had been rehearsing his stand up plenty of times. It'll be
funny… hopefully. The Captain makes his way through the halls
and ends up in the throne room. He’s greeted with crisp salutes
from his troops as he trots forward. Making his way through the
gathering crowd, he gets to his designated seat amongst a row
alongside the throne facing towards the crowd. Several officials
and high ranking officers will be seated with him as well.

Originally, she hadn't wanted to go. Number one, it was in
Canterlot. Number two, she didn't like social gatherings let
alone a massive one! Asher had convinced her though, he wanted
to catch up with friends and do his usual socializing. However,
the main reason she was here was because she'd get to see
Princess Luna! Only in her dreams (quite literally) would
Moonlight be able to see her idol, there definitely wasn't
posters of her in her room or anything...
Moonlight trotted along to the throne room in her navy and black
glittery dress, nervous but oddly excited. Asher stayed next to
her as they entered, the two took in the beautiful sight along
with the many others arriving. The two found nice seats and made
themselves comfortable, well...as comfortable as she could be.

Asher smiled with absolute glee as they arrived, he'd never gone
to anything like this before so he was looking forward to all
the ceremonies and all his friends he would see throughout the
night. It was also a nice excuse to try and get his sister out
of her shell, he wanted to her try and make an effort to get out
more and meet ponies; this was definitely a large and unexpected
step for her. Asher knew the real reasons she wanted to come
though, for Princess Luna and to see Schwam again. Though he'd
meet him later, that would be...interesting.
He sat down next to his twin, watching her curiously take in the
unfamiliar sights. The room was bustling with new arrivals like
themselves, and looks around to see if there were any familiar
faces in the crowd.

Orchid arrived in a beautiful navy dress. Her mane was restyled
in a french braid crown and she had a gold necklace with a red
gem matching her eyes around her neck.
Initially she wanted to just curl up in Clarus and just relax,
but she needed to be social. Plus, the free sweets was
incredibly tempting. I mean, royal pastries? That’s like, a
gazillion times better than the ones she attempts to bake… or
poofs into existence rather. Well… She knows how to bake….
Whatever… she CAN if she wanted to… like she has in the past...
but… the ones she dreams up are pretty goooood. Of course she
needs to be in her dream town in order to enjoy them.
As Lucid was lost in thought she nearly walked into a chair and
quickly snapped back to reality and looked around before quickly
sitting down. She felt unliked here anyways… Almost as if she
had messed up everything already somehow.
She just was going stuff her face tonight with everything sweet
on the table and leave… Maybe that’s enough to convince herself
that she was social. Besdiessss...Everypony else probably came
with a special somepony or a date and she barely knows anyone.
It would be too awkward to just butt in somewhere and chat. She
was just sitting there alone, awkwardly and looked at people. If
only there were something she could carry around and pretend to
look at every few seconds.

Re: Throne Room
DIR By: Grace
Date: September 18, 2017, 9:34 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
As was to be expected, Grace was among the first to enter into
the throne room once permission was given. She and her relatives
often tried to be as on the dot as possible for such occasions
with only a few examples of outliers subscribing to the notion
that being fashionably late held any true value. The more time
they had to connect and mingle the better, or so she thought,
her time already having been spent chatting with the most
reputable of available attendees that she could find. Topics
ranged from the sky to her almost too formal dress for this
semi-formal event. Beautiful – and expensive surely – her dress
adhered to her family crest’s color scheme and stood out amongst
the rest as it was meant to. Her mane, not to go unnoticed, was
not in its usual ponytail but instead down and done up in an
elegant style featuring waves and braids that took hours to get
just right. She was stunning, just as she’d been taught to be,
perfectly fitting and shining among the fancier guests that
could afford luxurious accessories and accents to their
carefully crafted appearances.
When the room began to fill up however, Grace found herself
going out of her way to avoid sequestering herself to the upper
echelon alone, regardless of how many waves and meaningful looks
she would receive from her relatives urging her to be shown off
to who they thought were most important. Grace would try to
speak to the commons allowed to track dirt into the throne room
for one night only. Or, well, hmm… Maybe that’s not the best way
of viewing it… She would try to speak to the common ponies. The
consumers. The peasants and such. Would be best for
Exotiquestrian to connect and better build her image with the
mid to lower class. Thankfully, her father didn’t seem to have
had the time to attend tonight, so she would at the very least
be spared the stress that would have afforded her.
After having her fill for early chit chat Grace settled down
somewhere in the middle of the room, mixed with as many
different demographics as she could, and patiently awaited the
official start to the event.

DIR By: Haywire

---------------------------------------------------------
Haywire wasn’t one for fancy pants get togethers, but any chance
to get into the castle – and even better, get a glance at the
princesses and their magical abilities – he would take.
Semi-formal? That was fine, he’d just wash his jacket! And so he
did, showing up in the throne room with his usual wear but this
time absent of the noticeable smell of oil and machine grease.
Was still stained though. Not much he could do about tha-ha-ha-
Look at the sky! His attention was instantly drawn sky-ways when
he noticed the transparent ceiling. Look at that magic
nonsense! Already he was getting a look at what he’d wanted to
see and they he hadn’t even raided their brownies yet!
“Bubo, Delta-Alpha-Niner-Bing-Bong-Doodad!” Bubo, standing on
his shoulder and wearing a tiny bowtie for the occasion, gave
Haywire a confused tilt of his head as that had been totally
nonsensical even for his long time companion.
“… Go check out the ceiling I mean!” a long whistle came from
Bubo in realization before he took to the air and fluttered as
discreetly as a mechanical bird wearing a bowtie could towards
the ceiling, ferreting out a suitable perch gave a subtle wave
that would last longer than the handful of seconds he meant it
to.
Haywire snuck unnecessarily into the rows of seating and did his
best to be weirdly conspicuous with glances over his shoulder
and at those around him as he removed a small laser pointer from
his jacket pocket, using it to direct Bubo’s attention to
specific spots on the ceiling to check its integrity and magic
hocus pocus through the tried and true method of pecking and
crashing into it. Were laser pointers allowed? Haywire assumed
not, but did his best to be as sneaks as possible when using it
and just giving the ponies that probably ended up noticing
accusatory stares until they looked away confused.
He’d only accidentally zap one pony in the eye before secreting
the pointer back into its pocket and whistling innocently while
Bubo rejoined him amongst the crowd.

Heck yeah Brio would be at this whatever it was! Free food and a
bunch of ponies to meet in a castle place? She’d been there
before they’d even planned the thing, they just hadn’t known it,
much like she hadn’t, but now she was. Arriving via the air,
Brio would corkscrew and spin her way through the hall and into
the throne room regardless of the guards’ opinions and finish
with a gosh dang flourish!
“Nobody panic!” she’d announce to… what, like, five or so ponies
nearby that weren’t already busy with their own convos? “I
*have* arrived! I know a few of you must have been worried, but
let the princesses know that I’m here and we can get things
started!”
She’d never met the princesses.
Brio would have preferred to stay in the air up until the proper
start of things, but she would soon be sent into a very brief
tumble brought on by a sudden red light overtaking her vision.
She had no idea what it had been and saw no signs of its source
when she regained control, but it did leave an annoying dot at
the edge of her vision that she had to force herself not to
chase after the first few turns in the air hadn’t gotten herself
any closer to it. Slowly lowering herself down, she’d pick out a
comfy enough seat and only occasionally bat at the nonexistent
dot.

This is not the type of event Thyme would normally attend. Far
too many ponies, who's all too unwanted attention might be
turned her way at any time for any number of reasons. Still,
there's a reason she's here tonight. Two, in fact. The first
being as support for Woodwind, who is not normally one for this
kind of thing either. But it was a celebration of the night,
which he loves, and so he had wanted to be here. The second
being the off chance of catching sight of a certain pony. One
whom she'd recently read about in an old journal belonging to
her great grandmother. A pony who was not only still even after
so long, according to the research she'd done after the fact,
but who was a regular of the castle. A pony who may well be her
own great grandfather, and therefor the only member of her
biological mother's family she would ever get the chance to
meet. If he really is, if he's here. She's not sure she would
even talk to him even if he were here, or what she'd say. It
was, in fact, kind of an overwhelming thought. She's already
scanned the crowd several times, though her spot out of the way,
near the back doesn't afford the best view. She'll have a better
chance once the opening ceremonies are done, and ponies have had
a chance to disperse a bit. Being no longer packed into a room,
even a very large one, with every other pony attending tonight
will also make her at least a bit less uncomfortable. Hopefully.
Until then she'll just have to sit and try not to draw any
attention to herself. She's dressed in a simple, cream colored
gown, which shouldn't be flashy enough to draw the eye. The
wheelchair still makes a few glances almost an inevitability
though. She'll just have to deal with it, like always, and hope
ponies do there best to ignore it, and herself as well.
