Finally the two reach Glacier's usual spot, The Golden Lantern.
It has a few patrons sitting outside, while the rest converse
and eat inside. Glacier opens the door for Avery and trots
inside. They certainly get their fair share of stares. "Potema!
Two of your freshest apple ciders please!"
The mare behind the counter laughs, "Sorry lady, but that's
reserved for adults. If your friend is old enough I'll look the
other way for you." The two exchange hugs before Glacier pulls a
seat up for Avery. "Glacy, you're looking spectacular!"
"All thanks to my lovely friend, Avery." Glacier watches as
Potema slides over two fresh mugs of spiced apple cider. "She
and Ebby stopped by earlier today."
"Well I'm glad to have you here, Avery. On the house by the way.
Glacier just paid me back with that eye candy." She jokingly
growls, making Glacier blush a bit. "Anyway, I still got work to
do. You two enjoy yourselves."
Ebony finally manages to pull himself away from the crowds.
Wanting to meet up with Glacier and Avery, he stops by his
mother's usual spots. After some time, he trots over to The
Golden Lantern. A short distance away though were the group of
mares from earlier. Spotting the captain by himself, they agree
to follow him to strike a conversation.

Avery took the spiced cider and sipped on it, "Whoa! This is
amazing! The flavors are so warm and delicious!" She swooned
over the cider and turned to Glacier who seemed like she was
having a great time. "You're really fun Glacier, I hope we can
spend more time together." A sincere, warm smile appeared on the
mare's face, "Ebony is very lucky to have a mother like you."

Glacier looks to her glass as she listens to Avery. "Thank you,
Avery. That means a lot to me. When his father... passed, I
tried to spend as much time as I could with him. We became
closer because of it. Still, we missed him though. I just hope
the lessons I taught him will make him a good stallion. To his
friends, family..." Glacier looks over to Avery, "and to you."
She gets up and stretches, "Let's start to head home." A few
minutes later they find themselves outside. Glacier looks over
to her left, then suddenly stops. Her wing instinctively raises
to halt Avery. She pulls her to the side as she finds her son
approached by the group of mares.
"So Captain, it's been some time since you've been here." The
group of ladies surround the noctral, their backs to Glacier and
Avery. "You seem to keep in shape. Got a few more scars too."
The others giggle and chuckle, not hiding their flirtatious
advances. "Got any under that armor of yours?"
"Certainly," Ebony answers nonchalantly, "my marefriend checks
them out every time in out of uniform."
The mares suddenly freeze in place, "Marefriend? Wait... was she
the Pegasus that was with you and your mother earlier?"
"Of course. She's my special somepony." Ebony looks past them,
spotting the mare in question a short distance away. He couldn't
help but smile as he declares a little louder for everyone to
hear. "Her name is Avery Prose, and I love her so much. In fact,
I should be meeting with her soon."
The mares look at each other, rather befuddled. "Oh. Well...
alright, you have a good evening, Captain." With that said, the
group trots off into the distance.

Avery followed Glacier outside and was rather confused once she
was stopped by the notcrals wing, "Huh?" She followed Glaciers
stare until she saw Ebony talking to a familiar group of pretty
mares. Her heart sunk a little at the sight, mainly because
Ebony was...well handsome and very sought after and she was a
pegasus with big glasses. The noctral mares were very beautiful,
Avery herself couldn't compare with them. Despite her
insecurities, she knew that Ebony would speak up for their love.
And he did...in a slightly embarrassing but heartfelt way. A
smile crossed her freckled face once he trotted over, "You're so
silly sometimes, you know that?" Avery giggled and gave him a
peck on the cheek.

Ebony blushes when Avery kisses him. His wings wraps around her
and pulls her close, "Well, thinking of you makes me do silly
things." He nuzzles her gently before kissing her cheek.
"Dawww!" Glacier trots over and picks them both up in a tight
embrace. "You two are just adorable!"

Avery blushes and laughs at Glacier's reaction, she was really
strong too! She manages to get one wing wrapped around Glacier
in a sort of hug, once her and Ebony are placed back down she
adjusts her dress a bit. "Doesn't Glacier look beautiful Ebony?
She's been getting glances all night!" Avery was excited to help
his mother show herself off, she definitely deserved the
confidence boost.

Ebony takes a step back and scans Glacier's outfit. "Hmmm... I
don't like it."
Glacier looks rather surprised, her ears folding down a bit.
"W-what's wrong with it?"
"Well now every stallion in the village is going to be chasing
you, and I can't hold them off on my own." Glacier laughs as she
pulls her son in for another hug. "Seriously though, you look
amazing mama."
"Thank you sweetie. Avery suggested one as well." She smiles
over to her, "She has such good tastes in fashion. Oh, how was
the meeting, Ebby?"
"It went well, actually. The town will throw in whatever support
it can muster. Now that it's been addressed, we'll have to
venture back to Canterlot."
"I see. Hopefully this thing of demons and monsters will be
quelled soon. The night should be seen as a tranquil time full
of beauty. Not a time of fear." The clock strikes again as the
night sky begins to wane. Glacier yawns and stretches. "Come you
two. Let's head back home."

Avery smiles at the adorable display between Glacier and Ebony.
A yawn escaped her as well, the night and day schedule around
here was messing her time up a bit. "Yeah, I'd like that." Avery
trots along with the two noctrals underneath the stars, it was
quite the interesting night.

The three had finally gotten home. Glacier had placed away her
outfits, and by the time the sun had started to rise, they were
all in bed. The next couple of days were much calmer. Glacier
had made a few more items of clothes for them. Good times,
stories, and experiences are shared before Ebony and Avery find
themselves packing their bags. "Well, this has been a nice
visit. I'm glad you've been able to come with me Avery."
"I agree," Glacier adds as she begins trotting downstairs. She's
carrying her own case full of things as well. "I'm glad I can
come with you to Canterlot, Ebony. It's been years since I've
been there."

"I'm so excited that you're going to come to Canterlot!" Avery
beamed with happiness, "I'm gonna see if I can plan a nice day
for us, ooh! Maybe go to a spa!" She waved her wing, "Okay okay,
there's still a lot of time but still!" The pegasus smiled and
trotted off with the two to the train station.
The three sat in a cabin together as the train headed back
towards Canterlot, Glacier was across from the two taking a nap.
Avery was snuggled against Ebony as usual, but something was on
her mind. She looked up at him, her face was full of admiration.
Back in the village when he claimed his feelings towards her for
every noctral to hear, he said that he loved her. Something
she's been too nervous to tell him before.
"Ebony...I love you. I love you so much." Avery blushed as she
looked at him.
