After some time, Glacier looks over to the animals, "Alright
everyone, I need to get going." The bats and possums return to
the cages and resume their animal activities. "I hope they find
loving families soon."
"With your help, that will be a certainty." Rasha would chat
more, but the display was already drawing a crowd. "Glacier,
I'll chat with you later. You all have a lovely night!"
The next hour would be spent trotting around and socializing
with the residents of Hollow Shades. No pony seemed to mind
Avery's presence. Although they all don't know her actual
relation with the Coldsteel family. A small clock tower chimes
as midnight arrives. A portion of the Noctrals begin to make
their way to the town hall. Ebony himself looking over his
things. "Well, that's my cue. I'll meet you two after the
meeting." He gives Glacier a hug and Avery a peck on the cheek.
A few passing Noctrals take notice amid begin whispering to each
other as they continue to the meeting.
"We'll see you soon, Ebby," Glacier nods, her smile growing at
his affection towards his special somepony. As Ebony trots off,
Glacier looks over to Avery with some excitement. "Now the real
fun begins! C'mon! Let's go!"

Avery couldn't help but slightly blush as Ebony gave her a peck
on the cheek, it was chaste sure but it was still in public.
"Good luck Ebby!" She smiles and waves him off, trying to
pretend she didn't see the glances the village noctrals gave
her.
She turns back towards Glacier, smiling and nodding. "Yeah! Lets
get to it!" Avery was excited to spend some time with Glacier,
she was so sweet and seemed like alot of fun.
The two made their way through the village, Avery spots a cute
looking clothing shop. "Ooh! Glacier lets check this one out!"
The two walked into the shop, a few noctrals were browsing the
clothing racks. Avery smiled, already spotting a few dresses
she'd like to wear herself, but she wanted to take care of
Glacier first. She looked at Glacier and noticed that she liked
the color purple, Glacier looked good in it too. "There's some
dresses over here!" Avery started to look at the dresses, "Did
you have anything in mind?"

Glacier looks over all the possibilities, but it's Avery's
suggestion that draws her to her first choice. "Those? Hmm... an
interesting choice indeed." Her bright blue eyes scanning over
each one. A thin sun dress with a blue lace is plucked up. "I
like this one. But... I want to have a second choice. Any
suggestions, Avery?"
Ebony trots into the town hall. Already it's nearly full. Within
half an hour everyone gets settled in. The elders of the
community go over the usual. Congratulations on small
achievements, event announcements, and basic concerns. Coldsteel
readies himself, he's tonight's main event.

"That one is nice!" Avery smiled, the dress would suit Glacier
well and bring out her eyes. She turned back to the rack for a
moment before pulling out another sun dress, a little slimmer
than the first and it was light purple with a darker purple lace
along the edges. "I noticed you liked purple, this'll compliment
your colors well and it's form fitting." She smiled and looked
around, "There's some fitting rooms over there, why don't you
try these on?"
Avery gave Glacier the purple dress and watched as she walked
into the fitting room, closing the curtain behind her. She sat
on a cushion, waiting as Glacier got changed. A smile crossed
Avery's face, it was fun helping Glacier pick out dresses. She
was more curious to see how she'd look in them too. "How's it
going?" Avery called out to the older mare gleefully, "I wanna
see!"

"One moment, dear! I'm trying on the one you gave me." A few
minutes pass before she steps out. The dress fits her form very
well and compliments her figure. "How do I look?" Glacier was a
bit nervous; shopping for dresses was something she seldom did.
"Alright everyone! Now that the night's usual business is
sorted, we have a unique topic of discussion." In the front of
the hall was a table occupied by elder Noctrals of the town.
"Captain Ebony Coldsteel has stopped by Hollow Shades to share
his discovery on The Dark Comet." As Ebony gets up, he hears the
excited murmurs of the citizens. He starts to make his way to
the front. Fortunately, he spots Argus, Taranis and Isalia
sitting at the front.
"Thank you, elders," Ebony nods before addressing the room.
"Good evening everyone. I'm here to discuss our findings on the
comet. For those unfamiliar with what's happening, I'll explain.
A few months ago, Equestrian citizens have been attacked by
demonic creatures hailing from Tartarus itself." The hall
reverberates with commotion and concern. Ebony waits for them to
quiet before resuming. "With Luna's guidance and council, a team
and I ventured to the Castle of the Two Sisters in the Everfree
forest. We were ambushed. One soldier didn't make it. However,
we managed to retrieve studies done by Starswirl the Bearded.
His notes helped us tremendously, but most are effective when
one is with the comet itself. Thanks to the efforts of Ms.
Isalia, Count Taranis, and the Royal Scholar Argus here, we've
made progress. Many theories have been tested and shut down.
There are several still possible, but they will simply stay
academic unless the comet itself is found."
One stallion raises his hoof, "What about the creatures
attacking?"
"They have decreased in frequency, but increased in radius."
Ebony reaches into his bag and reveals a large map of Equestria.
It has several marks on it. "The most occurred in Ponyville. But
since the trip to the castle, they've all but disappeared
completely. Sightings from Vanhoover to Baltimare have appeared.
The Lunar Guard has been patrolling these locations to minimize
risks."
The crowd remains silent, listening in on every word Ebony has
to say. That's good, since he still has more to reveal.

Avery looked up as Glacier walked out of the fitting room, "You
look stunning!" She smiled and stood up, "It fits you nicely,
you're gonna get a lot of looks when you wear it that's for
sure. Good looks of course." She gave Glacier a kind smile
before give a 'thumbs up' with her wings.

Glacier can't help but blush at Avery's compliment. "Well, if
you say so. I'll take it! Now I'll try the other one." She trots
back to the changing room to switch attire. Several minutes pass
before she comes back out, looking rather confident in her
choice.
After presentations from Argus, Taranis, and Isalia, several
theories are discussed and debated. An air of excitement fills
the room. The hours seem to fly by. Overall, Ebony had to quiet
things down. "Everyone, please! I'm glad you all are as
passionate about figuring this out as we have. However, this
will remain academic unless we find the comet itself." He
returns to the map, "We have three places in mind which we will
send teams to. Hopefully we can find it for study and discover a
way to stop the demons from attacking us!" A round of applause
roars through.

Avery smiled and nodded her head profusely, "Ah! You look so
good! I love both of them! Okay, keep that one on!" She tore off
the price tag on the dress and took the other one that Glacier
had tried on before. Avery gave the tag and the first dress to
the batpony at the register, "It's my treat." She gave the
cashier some bits and took the bag with the dress in it, giving
it to Glacier.
Once they stepped back outside Avery looked around, "Well, why
don't we go get something to eat? Gotta show yourself off!"

Glacier takes the bag and gives Avery a tight hug, "Thank you
sweetie! You're making my evening too pleasant." Letting go, she
leads her outside. "Come, I know of a place that we can dine."
Avery's suggestion seems to work. The older mare certainly
receives some double takes from the stallions that trot by.
"Avery," she whispers with an expression of excitement,
"It's working!" Glacier couldn't appear any happier and lively
at this point. Her trot goes into a strut as she's filled with
confidence.
As the chamber quiets down, Ebony raises his hoof to silence the
murmurs. "Everyone, thank you so much for your time. The Lunar
Guard could use all the support it can muster. We've come a long
way since Luna's arrival; lets not stop now." With the closing
discussion done, the meeting ends, and everyone starts to vacate
the building. Ebony receives more than his fair share of
compliments. Once it's all done, he trots outside where several
ponies request time to talk of random matters.

"I'm sure that you'd get the glances even if you didn't wear the
dress, Glacier." Avery smiled as she trotted next to the
noctral, she was glad to see Glacier perked up and confident.
While Glacier led them to the eatery, Avery glanced around at
the different buildings and structures. There were a lot of
trees and foliage, but it was still quite the sight. The
noctrals were so lively too! She still received some curious
glances but still smiled as they walked.
