Glacier regains her composure, "Oh, Avery, there's no need to
apologize. Seeing my son with somepony that makes him happy
means the world to me. Besides you two look so cute." The mare
leans forward, "In fact, when Ebony tools me about your
wardrobe, I had to see it for myself. The only things I've worn
were uniforms. I'd love your help to pick some clothes to wear."
Ebony stacks the plates onto each other, "Don't you knit though,
mama? Why not make yourself something?" He scoops up the cups
and plates and takes them to the kitchen.
"I've only learned to make scarves and hats so far. Which by the
way I have several for you both." Glacier looks back to Avery,
her voice more hushed, "Hey Avery, how about tonight we ditch
Ebby and go to the market. I need help looking for something fun
to wear."

Avery smiles with relief at Glaciers response to her
relationship with Ebony. She smiles even more when Glacier
mentions her wardrobe, "Oh! I'd love to help you pick out some
clothes! You'd look so lovely in a dress or a nice blouse!"
Her eyes wander back towards Ebony as he talks to his mom, he
was so sweet and caring. She could tell Ebony was relaxed and
truly at home when he was around his mother. Her eyes widen when
Glacier mentions the scarves and hats, she was just so cute! It
was also sweet of Glacier to make some for her along with Ebony.
A small giggle escaped Avery at Glacier's offer, "Of course,
that sounds really fun!" She of course kept her voice quiet but
tried to hide her bout of more giggles.

"If it'll keep you two out of my mane during the town hall, I'm
all for it," Ebony chimes in as he returns. He heard them.
Sitting back down, he pulls Avery in for a hug. "The meeting
itself should take a couple of hours anyway. I'll join you two
afterward."
"Sounds good Ebby." Glacier gets up and stretches, "Well, it'll
be an exciting night ahead of us. I'm going to get some sleep to
stay well rested. Ebby, your room is all set for you as always."
She walks over and gives Ebony and Avery a loving hug. "I'll see
you both later." With that said, Glacier trots upstairs towards
her room.
Now alone, Ebony turns around and kisses Avery's cheek. "Well,
looks like you have a new friend now."

Avery returned the hug with Glacier wholeheartedly before
sitting down with Ebony. "She's so sweet, you're lucky to have
such a caring mother." Avery smiled and snuggled up next to the
noctral, "I'm looking forward to spending more time with her."
Her anxiety had mostly dispersed by now, now that she knew what
Glacier was like it made the situation easier. Plus it was nice
to see the home Ebony grew up in.

"I'm sure she feels the same way, Avery." Ebony gets comfortable
as she snuggles up next to him. "For now, we rest. Tonight is
going to be quite the experience."
As the sun begins to set, Hollow Shades comes to life. Noctrals
begin to fill the streets as shops open and denizens socialize.
It's a rather different experience than night time in any other
town. There's a certain energy and calmness to it. No curfews,
no one heading inside to sleep. Children run around playing and
telling stories. The serene lighting is matched with the scents
of food and flowers. Glacier herself had woken up and began
preparing for the night ahead. Soon, she trots downstairs. She
sports her bracelets and purple scarf. "Good evening you two.
Are you ready for a night out on the town?"

For the past few hours Avery had been resting with Ebony, she
usually never slept that early for obvious reasons but it was a
good exception. She had woken up soon before Glacier had made
her way downstairs so she had time to get ready herself. Avery
made sure she looked nice, which she did but the mid day nap did
a number to her ponytail.
She was excited to spend the night out with Glacier, not only
would she be able to see the village but she'd get to have one
on one time with her also. Avery had to admit the small bundle
of nerves she had, she knew that she'd be a very prominent
source of stares from the batponys. It didn't matter overall
though, the point was to have fun with Glacier and spend time
with her while Ebony got to work with his studies.
Avery walked back to Ebony and smoothed out his mane, smiling as
she held her hoof fondly on his cheek afterwards. I love
you...No don't say that Avery! She blushed before pulling away,
turning towards Glacier as she made her way down the steps. "Of
course!" Avery responds gleefully before placing her bag over
herself.

"Wonderful! Well, I'm ready to go whenever you are." Glacier
approaches the door and looks out the window next to it. The
town has come to life at this point.
"Alright then," Ebony adds as he makes his way to the door and
opens it for them, "the night awaits." As the three venture out,
they are surrounded by the sights and fragrances of flowers and
foods native to Hollow Shades. Just about every pony that passes
them either greets them or strikes small talk. They are given
the occasional curious look at the mare present with them.
However, none press any further than a nod and smile. Each Lunar
Guard they come across stand at attention and salutes. "Ah, it's
good to be back. Mama, do you think the market has their
selections ready?"
"I'm sure they do, Ebby," she answers. "Let's see what they
have." As the trio continue on their way, a group of mares
passes them. Half of them help themselves to checking out the
Captain. The other look at Avery with some confusion and
curiosity. One just blatantly eyes up Glacier's flank. To each
their own. Glacier and Ebony pay them no mind though.
What does catch their attention is an older stallion trotting
towards them. "Glacier! When will I get it back?" His peppered
mane and tail compliment his golden eyes and chiseled jaw.
Glacier rolls her eyes. She knows where this is going, "Get what
back, Silver Hoof?"
"My heart! You've stolen it ages ago!"
"You may want to check the waste basket where I last left it."
Glacier and Silver Hoof share a good hearted laugh. "Ah, how
have you been, Silver?"
"I've been well, thank you." He turns to Ebony and Avery, "Ah,
Captain Coldsteel! A pleasure to see you again. I can't wait to
see your presentation at the hall meeting tonight. I see you've
brought a companion. Who might you be, my dear?"

As the trio make their way through the village, Avery makes sure
to take in the sights. It had a cozy feel to it that she could
appreciate even if she was an outsider. She makes sure to don
her usual friendly face, smiling at the batponies passing by.
Avery knew she was friendly towards everypony, though the
residents of the village didn't know that. It wouldn't hurt to
smile and understand why she receives the looks she does.
As the small group of mares pass by them, she tries to ignore
the looks they give Ebony. He is handsome after all, and he's
definitely considered quite the catch around here. She lets them
stare without paying them any more mind. Her attention turns
towards the older stallion approaching them, she attempts to
stifle a giggle at Glaciers response to his attempted wooing.
Avery gives Silver Hoof a friendly smile and nod before
responding to his question, "Avery Prose, sir. I'm just a
visitor to this lovely village of yours."

Silver returns the introduction with a nod, "It's a pleasure to
have you here, Ms. Prose. I'm sure you enjoy the many sights,
sounds and tastes Hollow Shades have to offer. And with the
Coldsteels, you're in for some quality experiences." He
stretches and waves to the others, "Well, I need to get going.
You all have a lovely evening."
"You too, Silver," Glacier nods. Continuing their trip towards
the market place. The fragrance of fresh baked goods, caught
fish and newly plucked berries and fruits. Every pony is filled
with energy and spirit. One waves them over. "Hello Rasha! How
are you tonight?"
"Wonderful, Glacier! Thank you!" She trots over to a covered
cage and eyes it up. "Your donation was greatly appreciated. And
increased adoptions two fold!" Pulling of the tarp, she reveals
two cages. One is filled with bats wearing little sweaters. The
other are possums with... Well, sweaters.
"Dawww! They look so cute! And warm!" Glacier says as she
approaches them. "May I?" With the approval of the owner, she
opens up the cages and opens her wings. All the bats fly over
and hang upside down from her wings while the possums crawl onto
her back and snuggle with each other. "Oh this is just
wonderful! I'm glad you all enjoy your clothes!"
"You have a wonderful gift, mama." Ebony wore a soft grin.
Seeing his mother happy like this always warmed his heart.

As Avery trots next to Ebony she takes in the unfamiliar sights.
The smells of fruit and baked goods drew her in even more, maybe
she could pick up something before they left...
She stops once Glacier strikes up a conversation with another
batpony, Avery peeked over at the cage and once the tarp lifted
her eyes grew wide and started to slightly water at the adorable
sight. Cute little bats and possums in sweaters?! They're so
cute! She smiles brightly as Glacier welcomes the small animals
onto her wings and back, the older mare sure was sweet and
caring. She could see why the adoptions doubled, just the sight
of the cute creatures in warm sweaters made her want to adopt
one herself! Avery looks at the sweet animals and gives them a
little wave with her wing.
