Brio giggles at the squawk and waves an enthusiastic hoof
goodbye as the bird heads back off into the treetop to leave.
"Byyyyyye!" she sing songs, wondering if she'd see the bird
again sometime as she lowered herself back down to near ground
level with the others. She should find something neat to give
him sometime. Make a play date out of it.
"You guys notice that it got real quiet when he landed?" Brio
spoke up with a smile and tucked her compass away, "I think he
scared off whatever was scurrying up behind us. If so, then we
should be cool now, right? If that's the case then we can take
it a little easier for the rest of the road back to town. No
more flips and tumbles." She lands, ready to pick up Clair once
again though this time on the ground and with a promise of a
       smoother journey.

"Awww." Orchid whispered as Clair leaned on her. Probably the
best idea to help make sure he gets to the hospital okay. Orchid
nodded at Brio and walked alongside her. "This was all just a
humongous misunderstanding I guess right? I am glad the bird
seemed okay too. Hospital. Definitely hospital. The nice doctors
and nurses will make you feel all better."

"Yeah. I like the...doctors and nurses. The doctors...and nurses
are my friends..." With Brio's help he climbs up on her back.
His eyes and ears droopy, he lays his cheek against her neck and
wraps his hooves around her, hanging loosely. "Except when
they...poke me with needles..." he continues, mumbling as he's
carried along, still keeping his hind legs up. "I don't think my
friends...should poke me with needles...I don't like needles..."
They break through the treeline to meet a crowd of cheering
ponies watching from not too far away who had gathered after the
group had left. The bird hadn't exactly been quiet, and word had
spread some as well. They come out to meet the group between the
town and the forest, expressing concern and asking for the
details. Clair flaps a hoof at them to try to shush them, to no
       avail.

Wow, Brio was surprised by the crowd waiting for them with her
starting to wonder what had happened before she'd spotted the
rescuers chasing after the bird. Had the bird gone about
terrorizing the place for a bit? Didn't seem likely with how
nice it had been in giving back her compass. OH! Was the pony
she'd saved FAMOUS!? She allowed herself a brief wave of
excitement over the idea as she did her best to give quick and
short answers to whatever questions she felt she could handle.
When Clair gestured at the commotion Brio lifted her wings up as
best as she could from under the pony to try and shield him from
the attention and provide some small semblance of privacy.
"Hey now, give him some space, will ya?" she demanded, turning
her head in ways that would hopefully come off as heroic in case
anyone happened to take a picture, "He just went through a lot,
you hear? Let him breath a little." All the while she hadn't
stopped walking, Brio wishing to get Clair to a proper place of
treatment for his injuries, but her pace soon dragged to that of
a crawl when she realized that she had no idea where the
hospital was around here. Maybe Orchid knew? Or maybe if the
crowd quieted down with all their questions she could ask for
       some directions.

"I'm with you buddy. I don't like needles either." Orchid
answered. She nearly fell on her back as the crowd surprised
her. "Hey c'mon, the poor guy's hurt! We are getting him to a
hospital THEN we can answer any questions! I can show us the way
       Brio"
She noticed the other pony slowed down. Orchid herself took the
lead and led them further towards Ponyville. "Follow me."

"Hurt?" "Oh goodness, what did that nasty bird do to him?" "Is
he going to be alright?" The crowd backs up and their cheers and
pushiness subside, though they keep pace with the group,
muttering and talking among themselves. Somepony has the bright
idea to fly ahead to the hospital and tell them to be expecting
somepony, and the crowd starts talking more loudly, this time
with suggestions. "Y'know, my son runs a special clinic. You
should go there!" "Make sure he gets plenty of water!" "Does he
need a psychiatrist? That forest is so spooky!" And things of
that nature, as well as home remedies for everything from
hiccups to the flu to polio.
Clair spends the trip mumbling sleepily into Brio's shoulder,
something about salad and eggs and shoelaces.
When they get to the hospital, they find the door being held
open by the pegasus who'd gone ahead, and in the lobby a nurse
or two is readying a gurney.

Gosh dang, half of the town must have taken a holiday in order
to trail behind them. Maybe it wasn't that Clair was famous but
instead that nothing of interest ever happened around here?
Perhaps they were simple folk not often exposed to the thrills
of adventure? She sure hoped not. If things were too often at a
stand still around here she'd have to mosey on, or, well, after
she'd made sure the stallion on her back was a-okay at least.
Following Orchid, Brio would take every opportunity to mug for
any camera that may appear without having it interfere too much
with her keeping pace with her guide. When reaching the hospital
Brio thanked the pegasus who'd held the door but waved in a
manner that would hopefully cause the remaining crowd to
       disperse.
"Alright, alright, the shows just about over. Thanks for all the
advice and such - really, I didn't know you could limes for
that, that's interesting to know - but the good doctors and
nurses should be able to take things from here. Unless you all
want to bump into each other trying to crowd into the waiting
rooms, maybe it's best we all go about our business, eh?"
Regardless of if it worked, Brio would shift focus and cooperate
with the nurses as best as she could to ease Clair onto the
gurney with as little trouble as she could manage.
"Hang in there, guy," Brio cooed reassuringly with a soft pat of
a hoof on Clair's shoulder, "things are gonna start feeling
better real soon. Also, were those all fans of yours? I will
need an autograph once you're lucid if that's the case.
"I think he might be famous," Brio whispered to Orchid after
getting out of the nurses' way.

"That would be interesting wouldn't it?" Orchid chuckled and
whispered back. "Well I am certainly gonna head back now. I need
       a break from everything."
She stretched and waved to Brio. "It was nice meeting you. Maybe
we'll see each other again sometime."
After giving her new friend a smile, she turned around and
       galloped out the doors.

The crowd does indeed disperse when they reach the hospital, and
yes a few cameras had been flashing at them, not that Clair
would know. By the time they get there, he's practically in
another world altogether, consciousness-speaking. He provides
zero cooperation or hindrance to them aside from some waggling
of his forehooves at who knows what. One of the nurses questions
Brio shortly to ascertain that yes, his legs seem to be broken
and yes, that does seem to be the only big thing wrong with him.
The nurses giggle at the autograph remark, and at his reply.
"I'll...let you know if...I find one..." he mumbles as he's
       wheeled away.
...He still hasn't dropped the spell holding his legs. They'll
       probably do something about that.

"Maybe," says Brio as Orchid leaves, "Let's hope so!" She
lingers as the nurses do their thing but it quickly becomes
clear that her work here was done. She was no doctor, so there
was no reason for her to be hanging around the hospital just
sort of taking up space. Nah, she'd just keep an ear out for any
news on Clair's condition or maybe visit later to check on
things. With little knowledge of town and nothing particular in
mind for her to do, Brio soon wandered off to check out the area
and see if there was anything fun to do while she got her feel
       for the place.
