"Ummmm..." Orchid though. She didn't know many healing spells
as, surprise, she failed that unit back when she was young. She
did however, create another dream zone on the nest and dreamt up
a small device to fit comfortably on Clair's leg to keep it in
place. It was however interrupted after he was placed on the
ground when the bird rolling around knocked right into Orchid
knocking her off the edge. Luckily, she hung on and began to try
and pull herself up. The grip didn't last as she soon fell, but
with quickly thinking, she spawned a shadow nightmare creature
who caught her with one of it's hands. It was the first thing
she could think of. She gave the scary being a kiss before
getting up and it disappeared.
"You are really efficient." She said looking at Brio before
looking up. "That dead pony might need help before he... Uh...
dies? Again?"

"N-no, don't- I like- shouldn't go- bright-" Clair protests, but
the bright pony leaves him anyway, leaving him to ponder his
predicament. Was it something he said? But no, not too long
afterward she was back, and...holding something, he guesses,
from the way she moves and how it shakes the web under him. And
he supposes it's making sound, too. Sawing? Cutting? Probably.
To be honest, his ears aren't feeling quite right with all the
high-pitched screeching he-
A sudden drop just as suddenly stopped. He hadn't even noticed
when the hoof had been wrapped around him, joined now by
another, and down down down they're going. No part of the bright
pegasus is in his direct line of sight, but he knows its her
from the wash of life radiating past him and still somewhat
obscuring even the white noise that was the rest of the forest.
He holds onto the hooves around him with his, feeling more
secure that way. He whimpers quietly as they descend, something
on his legs feeling like it's holding them as still as possible
but a makeshift tool versus lowering through the air isn't a
perfect solution.
When they set down he resists the urge to hold his throbbing
legs, whimpering a bit longer as the pain dies down somewhat. At
least he could hear himself now, away from all the crashing and
shrieking...somewhat. When he feels well enough to do so, he
tries pushing against the grass to lift the front of his body up
to orient himself, but decides he isn't up to doing it. Instead
he just lies there and turns his head, laying it on his
forelegs, and looks at the shining beacon that was his rescuer.
"You're really...bright," he mumbles after a moment, blinking.
Up above, the bird is having a very bad day. It had acquired
some nice new shinies, but then its nest had immediately been
invaded by multiple small things that clearly were after its
treasures. And when it had defended its nest, it met only with
an inability to put them down and get back to collecting. And
then when it had managed to toss the one that had been climbing
on it, maybe it hadn't! Because it was lighter but something was
still latched onto its neck!!
The bird thrashes and rolls around a bit longer, trying to
dislodge it, but to no avail, shedding feathers and blood as the
nest tears at it. New trick. It hops upright and flies to a wall
of the dome formed by the tree and perches there, then slams its
back against the tree.
...Perhaps it mis-aimed, because its head hits the tree as well,
and not the spot on its neck where the pinching hurting biting
sensation is. With one last weaker screech, it loses its grip on
its perch and falls with a loud crash back into its nest, upside
down.

Sadowi waited until the bird stopped breathing before he opened
his mouth to release his grip, looking around at the few gobbets
of himself scattered about on stakes. "Eww. That is pretty
gross."
Working his jaw like a springboard, he hopped his way away from
what he hoped was a nonmoving corpse and off the edge of the
nest to join the rest of the crew. Down and down he fell; forest
turned to blobs of green and brown with white and grey streaks,
and with a splat his head landed in a flattened heap beside
Brio. With barely concealed effort, he raised his remaining
bones and sinew lying carelessly about to catch everyone else's
attention.
"Hey, uh, it's great that you managed to save the kid," he
chimed. "But can you do me a favour and fly back up there and
toss the rest of...me...back down? Damp dust and drowned blue
body parts stuck to sticks, can't miss them? Thanks."

Brio, witnessing the spooky creature rescue its creator from
their fall, was only mildly put off by its scary appearance. On
the contrary, she found it to be fascinating and only wished it
had stuck around longer for her to get a better look at it. To
Orchid's comment she shrugged, confidently flicked a strand of
her mane from her eyes with a hoof and smiled.
"Yep, I try, but it's all part of the job for Everfree pony
rescuers such as we, am I right? Oh, do you guys have, like,
have a patch or jacket that I can get? Preferably a light one
that I can fold and keep in my bag? What's the name of your
outfit anyway? Do you not have one yet? We should think of one!"
she started to trail off a little when Orchid spoke about Sadowi
still up in the tree, her looking upwards along with her and
raising a confused eyebrow. "... Dead?" Her attention was easily
peeled away by the stallion she'd carried to the ground and how
he seemed to be possibly complimenting her or maybe just making
an obvious observation to which she felt a bit flattered.
"Oh, thanks for noticing! I don't think I'd qualify as super
book smart or anything, but I fancy myself as being pretty
decently street wise, and really I just cut the web so it wasn't
a big deep plan or nothing like that-" she was interrupted at
the splatter, her spinning around to find the head that landed
next to her and immediately letting out a very distressed gasp.
What else could she have assumed other than that the odd pony
fighting the bird had met an extraordinarily gruesome end? This
was proven... I dunno, half wrong-ish? when the head started
talking to her, Brio's mind hitching for a second as it
struggled to understand how exactly that would be possible
without all the rest of him. After it finished her eye twitched
while her brain took a second to reboot and then she
instinctively flipped the head over with a hasty kicky hoof,
sounding a short shriek at the grossed out shiver that ran up
her leg in response.
"Oh!" she said, taking a few seconds to compose herself, "I-is
that the 'dead' guy? Is he your friend? I saw him up there but I
didn't think he was... that... Did I just kick your friend? I'm
sorry! But not super sorry, cause why would you splat next to me
like that! unless you didn't mean to! I-I... Um... I-I'll
try...?" She went quiet, then picked back up the sword she'd
borrowed from the nest and zipped back into the tree they'd just
vacated, her taking in the scene to see if she could spot the
bits of pony mentioned. She was going to return to the nest
anyway to give back the sword she'd taken, but now she was
wondering if she'd need to use it to pick out the... ugh...
pieces...

Orchid couldn't help but just smile at Brio and chuckle. "Full
of energy too aren't you? I am not apart of any rescue teams. I
got... covered in eggs I think and roped into saving this poor
guy from that big bird. I'm not really the rescue team type....
I don't know the name of my outfit...? If you really want it I
have extras" She chuckled again and looked at the dead pony.
"No... we aren't friends really and..." She looked at Sadowi."I
am definitely not touching any part of you especially if it's
not connected." After flipping her mane, she backed up and
dusted herself off and sat next to Clair smiling. "You are a
cutie aren't you?"

Clair "looks" towards the source of the voice in confusion.
There's nothing there, to him. How could that be? He slowly
scans the surrounding area, looking for another possible source
of the voice, but no, it's just him, the incredibly bright mare,
the somewhat bright mare, and the small critters that seem to be
massing in and behind the nearby foliage. If he wasn't so
distracted he would say something about them. Nothing seems to
be there that could have been speaking. Ventriloquy? But...ugh,
his legs are itching, but he knows he can't scratch them or
they'll just be in more pain.
He shakes his head. "D-don't be too long, uh...bright pony," he
calls in his soft voice after her as she ascends. He didn't
catch her name. Did she say it? No, he's pretty sure she didn't.
He's pretty good with names. "Be careful." At least his legs
have settled down and were grumbling at him less. Still itchy,
though. He lays his chin down on his forehooves to try to keep
them from moving to his legs to scratch.
He turns his head (good etiquette, Clarity says) to face the
mare when she addresses him. Or he assumes she's talking to him.
She's seated next to him, and he's the only one he might be
talking to. Right? He scratches at his nose, cheek against his
other forehoof, and considers the question. Is he a cutie?
"Yes," he replies after a short moment. "Clarity says I am."
That's where he would stop talking, but conversation gives him
something else to think about, taking his concentration away
from the dull pain and less dull itch on his legs. "What about
you? Are you a cutie?" he asks back, straight-faced.

As Brio's hoof connected with his head and sent it spinning
backwards into the brush, Sadowi wailed in exaggerated distress
at her greeting, but he was still grateful when she flew up to
help him. "Wah! Hey, thanks! Thanks a lot! If it makes you feel
any better, they're not rotting or bleeding!"
His ears wiggled with mischief as he overheard Orchid and
Clair's conversation. "I'll say she is, and actually, I'm glad
you won't, Orchid. Even I'd think it's a bit forward if you
began touching me all over without dinner and flowers first."

Rescuing ponies and fending off timber wolves and such was all
fine and good, fun even depending on how it went down, but
fishing out body parts mangled and stuck to a nest? That was
just gross... But maybe it counted as rescuing? She was trying
to piece back together a dude who was unable to do it himself,
right? Yeah, she'd just go with that.
Brio didn't need too long of a time to spot the mentioned bits
and pieces, but she did need a few extra seconds to do what
she'd promised to try. Using her broken weapon now turned tool,
she pried free what she could and flicked it over the nest with
each one bearing a verbal warning to give the ones below a heads
up. It took a few but she eventually felt confident that she'd
found most of him, and when finished she abandoned the broken
sword in the nest due to it's blade now being nauseatingly
coated in ick. Completely forgetting about her compass as she
desired to vacate the scene and start forgetting this
particularly weird experience, she dive bombed over the side of
the nest, swooped back down to the crew and plopped down beside
them.
"... I think that was all of it. Sorry for the rain, everyone, I
hope none of it landed on you. Anyway! VEERING away from that!
You want I should carry our charge? He's not that heavy, and I
can't go around doing the magic and I don't have any weapons or
anything like you guys, so I could help that way while you watch
for the dangers. What do you all think?
"And what do you think?" she asked, pointing a hoof at Clair
with unneccessary dramatic flair, only just now noticing his
eyes and then dropping her hoof as she assumed he would be
unable to notice the playful gesture.

"I mean..." Orchid giggled. "Maybe a little."
She glared at Sadowi now.
"That is gross. I might throw up. How about you and I stop
talking for the rest of this trip?" Orchid turned to Brio. "I
live in the Everfree so I can escort you to the edge before I
have to get back and rest."

Clair perks his ears and turns his head around. There's that
voice again, coming from a pony(?) that Clair can't see the life
of. Maybe they're just so dim that they're being lost in the
white noise of the forest. But...that would put them incredibly
low. He shakes his head. Maybe he can get an answer once they're
out of here.
But right now the bright one is talking and he's listening. He
does it very well, he's done it a lot. But what he isn't good
with is the visual cues. With how bright she is, he has a hard
time discerning precisely who she's talking to. Well...she looks
oriented toward him and like she might be pointing at him. But
that other mare is right next to him. Maybe she's talking to
her? After a moment long enough to make sure nopony else is
answering it, he nods. "Yes, I would be good with that. And I
think maybe we should get going soon; we seem to have drawn a
crowd." He turns his head pointedly at the foliage surrounding
them. A light chittering noise has started, growing louder with
each passing second.
