"Of course not, Clair. What could be the problem with it? I'm
pretty sure I saw at least two cute mares looking your way
thanks to that neat little outfit~"
"Did they? I couldn't tell," Clair replies to Clarity, pulling
at an aluminum foil hat on his head. He's wearing a cape of the
same, and they crinkle somewhat loudly as he rides Clarity's
back down the road. It's loud enough that Clair's soft voice is
barely audible over it. "But it makes it difficult to hear
things...and I'm trying to figure out what a sound is."
"What sound?" Clarity asks absently, not pausing as she walks.
Clair pulls at the hat some more, trying to hold it still for a
moment. "It sounds kind of like...flapping..."
"Well why not? There are plenty of pegasi here in Ponyville, you
know. With your ears, you can probably hear every one of them."
"No, it...it sounds bigger and slower than any pegasus I've
heard. And it's hard to be sure, but farther away, too."
"Oh, okay then. Farther away. So what's the worry?"
Clair doesn't reply, fussing at his hat some more while they
walk.

Running errands wasn't his most favorite thing to do, but it
needed to be done sooner or later. Asher sighs to himself, he
had to admit errand runs could get pretty boring without anypony
else. He stopped at the bakery, not like he needed to be there
but the smells usually brought him in anyway.
A couple minutes later he walks out with a bag of freshly baked
chocolate chip cookies, his horn glows a light blue as he plops
one into his mouth. "Mmph." A pleased smile crosses his face
while he trots along with his bag. In the corner of his eye, a
shiny glow caught his attention. A grey unicorn sat atop a
yellow mare, and was wearing...foil? That's a
little...different. Asher diverged from his regular route to
catch up with them.
A moment later he caught up with them and trotted next to the
two, "Hey, I'm Asher. I was just running errands..." No you
weren't, all you did was buy cookies. "...and saw you two,
figured I'd introduce myself." Asher looks over at Clair and
smiles, "I like the cape." He hoped that his random introduction
didn't throw them off or bother them. His bright and friendly
demeanor could be annoying sometimes, even to his own sister.
Asher quickly dispersed the negative thought and brought his
attention back to the two.

Quite some time had passed since the excitement at Canterlot,
but even the weeks of playing chase and keeping just hopelessly
out of reach from the maddened citizens the city on the hill
began to grow stale. Under cover of night, a headfirst dive into
the stream beside the gatehouse and a trip down the waterfall
past some meanders brought Sadowi to the outskirts of Ponyville,
and the unnatural fabricant crawled onto the bank just in time
for the morning. Brushing off the excess water from his
drowned-blue fur, he wrung out his mane and tugged his girth to
position his sheathed weapons safely out of quick reach on his
back, as nonviolent as he would care to be, and with a quick
glance of his eye he walked towards the three closest ponies he
saw.
"Hallo, you three!" he called. "I'm Sadowi, and who might y'all
be? How are you?"

"It's getting closer," Clair observes, still fidgeting. He turns
in the direction of the sound, nearly falling off Clarity's back
in the process, his foil accessories crinkling loudly.
"Mhm. Sure it is, Clair," his sister replies, adjusting under
him to make sure he doesn't fall, turning towards the blue
unicorn who was introducing himself. "Careful," she whispers
back before fixing the newcomer with a smile. Maybe she could
charm a cookie or two off of him for Clair if she played her
cards right. "Well hello there! What a fine day to meet a fine
stallion such as yourself!" She gives him a wink and a laugh,
her voice dripping with honey. "My name is Clarity, and this is
my twin broth-"
"It's coming this way, I'm sure of it," Clair interrupts
quietly, turning again in the direction of the sound. He thinks
he hears yelling now, too. "Clarity, could you look-"
"Clair, don't be rude. Why don't you say hello to this nice
handsome stallion?" Clarity interrupts right back, turning again
when somepony else comes. "And this...this, uh..." Okay, she's
at a loss as to what exactly the newcomer is. Does he just have
a debilitating skin condition? Poor stallion. He should see a
doctor.
"Um, Clarity?" Clair is sounding more worried now.
Clarity finally turns her head to talk back directly to him, but
has no chance to say anything before a loud screech pierces her
ears. Panicking, she whirls toward the sound to see a colossal
bird diving toward her. A split second later she turns to the
side and takes a leap, trying to get out of its path, but it
knocks into her, its hind talons raking a pair of long gashes in
her back, sending her tumbling along the road into the side of a
building.
She lies there dazed for a few seconds before grunting out,
"Clair...you oka-" Clair. CLAIR!! He was on her back! She hops
to her hooves, ignoring the pain and dizziness. The bird is
flying toward the Everfree, a bundle of shiny foil and grey pony
clutched in its talons. "CLAAAAAIR!!!" she shouts, then takes
off bounding after it, making it a few steps before falling back
to the ground, groaning.

Asher takes the compliments and gives Clarity a friendly smile
in return, "Hi Clarity, you know it's funny...I have a tw-" He's
cut off by Clair's interruption, growing slightly concerned at
the grey unicorns reaction to whatever it was he was reacting
to.
He tilts his head in confusion when Sadowi introduces himself,
Well I have definitely not seen him around before, must not be
from around here. Asher disregards the stallions appearance and
also gives him a genuine friendly introduction, "I'm Asher, nice
to meet you."
Before more words could be shared, Asher turns his head in
unison with Clarity's towards Clair. Something isn't right he-
Before Asher could continue his thought a loud and obnoxious
screech filled the air, he caught a glimpse of a huge bird
before being flung to the side.
Asher couldn't recall the last minute but he woke up on his side
in the road, surrounded by crushed cookies. ...my cookies. He
frowned before clutching his side, he was still sore from the
incident at the castle a few days ago. He had to admit he'd take
a giant bird over demons any day. Clarity's yell tore Asher out
of his thoughts, she wasn't too far away...just across the road
but she was badly injured. He ran over as fast as he could once
she fell onto the ground.
He sat at her side, urging her to stay down. Asher stayed calm
however, the casual tone in his voice made that apparent, "That
thing took your brother didn't it? Hold on and stay still for a
minute, you're not doing too good." His horn glowed a light blue
once more as his magic enveloped Clarity's gashes, "It's going
to hurt, but only for a moment." He focused more as he worked on
closing up her wounds, but not before he patted some blood off
with the paper bag that once held his cookies. Only a very short
moment later, Asher sighed and leaned back. "You're gonna be
sore but okay."

He was still a distance away from them, but Sadowi smiled when
Asher's reply floated to his ears, slowing to a walk to take in
the sight of a Ponyville different from what he remembered. Same
place but different time with more and different ones to meet or
work over, he became careless. It grew dark for a second right
around him but stayed bright further away, and he looked up only
to watch in awe as an enormous bird, one he could not recognise,
dive upon and knock aside Asher and Clarity and make off with
Clair and fly away towards the Everfree Forest in one deadly
smooth motion. Before he could have even understood what had
happened, the blue unicorn had stood back up and finished
tending to the yellow pony, from what he could tell, and Sadowi
resumed his casual walk to meet with the three minus one.
"Looks like someone's in a spot of bother ... again," he
claimed. "Will you be saving him?"

A lavender noctral trotted down the street, black saddlebags
bulging with groceries. In one hoof she held a list as she
muttered to herself. The muttering, not to mention the obvious
presence of her weapons, caused a few side glances thrown her
way, but Bella ignored them.
"Let's see... harissa zucchini spaghetti with kale, chickpeas,
and poached eggs." Bella wasn't much of a cook, but this would
be her first dinner living in Ponyville, and that seemed like
something to celebrate. Hence flipping open her one, barely-used
cookbook and picking out the fanciest sounding dish. "I've got
spaghetti, chickpeas, zucchini, eggs, and kale... The only
question is... what the heck is harissa?" She mumbled to
herself.
Suddenly, an enormous shadow passed over her, and her head
whipped up in alarm to see a positively huge bird fly over her.
And in its talons it held... a pony? She heard a yell echo down
the street and she looked to see a trio of ponies a little ways
away. Bella reacted instantly. "I've got him!" She yelled to the
trio before dumping her saddlebags on the road, eggs rolling
every which way. Bella spread her bat-like wings and leapt into
the air. Beating them quickly, she shot after the bird and its
captive.

It was sure nice to be back in Ponyville again.
Lucid was feeling a lot better than she normally felt. There
were no appointments today so she was going to head back to
Nightmore to just enjoy herself. Unfortunately, her thoughts
were interrupted by a large shadow overhead. She squinted to see
what looked to be a pony in the talons. Unfortunately, she was
so focused on the bird that she stepped on an egg which startled
her and she tripped falling into the rest. The pony got up and
tried to wipe the grimy substance off but looked back up to see
a new pony chancing it.
Lucid turned around to the group of ponies looking up. "What in
Celestia is going on here?!"

"Unghhhh...Thanks, hon," Clarity says to Asher while he heals
her up. She wobbles to her hooves and shoots a glare at the
poster boy for skin problems. "Am I going to- Of course I am!
What kind of question is that?" She stretches and takes off at a
brisk trot after the bird, which is almost over the Everfree by
now.
She doesn't make it far, though, before falling to the ground
once more, clutching at one of her legs. "Ngaaaaah! I think I
might have...pulled something...Everything hurts..." She puts a
hoof to her head and rolls back and forth in pain.
When the bird crosses over into the Everfree, a swarm of razor
hummers erupts from the treeline, flying after the large bird
and its cargo. The bird pays them no mind, the wind from the
powerful beats of its wings enough to batter them away and force
them to regroup, searching for easier, smaller prey.

Asher watches as Clarity rolls around in pain, "You're going to
have to take it easy, I may have healed you but rest is still
needed. I know you want your brother back..." He frowns for a
moment, if that was his sister he'd want anypony possible to
help him get her back. There was no doubt in his mind when he
decided he'd help the mare get her twin back.
"Let's hope the batpony reaches him, but she'll need help too."
He looks up to see another mare covered in eggs and has to
stifle a laugh. Asher chuckles a bit before continuing, "Long
story short...rescue mission."
He levitates the paper bag covered in Clarity's blood in front
of his face, "Well, this'll have to be a backup plan." Asher
rips it in half and gives one to Clarity, keeping the other. He
focuses as the magic enveloping it glows brighter, then fading.
Both the pieces faintly glow a light blue, the glow fades each
passing moment but never goes away.
"Usually this only works with an item of the pony we're trying
to locate, but blood on a paper bag is sufficient enough;
especially since you share it. It'll glow brighter the closer we
get to your brother, and it'll lead us to him too." The paper
bag starts to wander towards the forest, but stops... waiting to
be followed. "I'll try my best to help look for him, but the
Everfree can be dangerous, I don't think you're in the best
shape to go."
Asher looked at the egged mare and Sadowi, "Sooo, am I going
alone or did you both wanna help?"
