"They're truly magnificent creatures. In fact..." Ebony reaches
his wing over and holds it in front of Avery. Hanging from it
were four smaller bats; infants at this point. "These guys can
fly around here, but need to grow a bit before they can venture
outside." Coldsteel reaches up with his hoof and rubs the back
of one of them. It lets out a small purr and chirp as it enjoys
the petting. "Go ahead, Avery. You can gently pet their backs,
you just need a delicate touch." The bat that Ebony is petting
reaches its little wings out and clings onto his hoof, crawling
up his leg until it sits comfortably on his shoulder.

Once Avery sets her sights on the baby bats her eyes start to
water from the sheer cuteness of them. She slowly and gently
reaches out to one of them and starts to pet its back. "Oh my
goodness...they're so adorable." She pouts at the cute baby
creatures as she continues to delicately touch it. Avery smiles
at the bat completely in awe, "And one day you're gonna grow up
to be a big strong bat, kind of like the one standing next to me
huh?" The mare lets out another giggle as the baby bat makes its
way onto her own shoulder. "This is officially the best thing
I've ever done."

"Indeed, it's..." Ebony gently nuzzles the baby bat next to him
before scooping it up in his hoof, "hah, it's pretty awesome.
These are actually the third generation of bats since I've first
found this place. I swear these guys breed like rabbits."
Lifting his hoof, the little mammal takes off and flies towards
the ceiling to rest again. The others hanging from his wing also
take flight, ascending into the cave to await their parents. "We
should probably get going. We don't want to be here when the
colony returns with food."

Avery lets the baby bat on her shoulder go and watches as it
goes back with the others. "Of course." She gives the bats one
last wave before going back into the warm pond. Once they were
outside again, Avery goes back onto the forest ground and sits
down to dry off. It was a relief to have her glasses back on,
after too long she'd get a headache. "That was spectacular
Ebony, truly. I have never seen anything like that." She looks
up at the night sky that was littered with stars. "It's nice to
finally appreciate some of Princess Luna's work out here."
Avery grabs her dress and puts it back on, parts of it still
clinging to her partially wet body. Her face heats up a bit
before she takes off into the air, "One last fly for the night?"
She smiles at Ebony while she flaps her wings.

As Ebony secures the brace back on his leg, he looks up to Avery
hovering over him, "With you Avery, anytime." He puts on his
jacket and stretches before taking off into the air. The two
soar and glide effortlessly through the night air, the warm
breeze flowing around them and drying off whatever wet spots on
their body they may have. A short time after, they find the town
below. Only a couple of lights are found inside the houses, most
of the illumination coming from the street lights. With the
library in sight, Ebony begins to make his descent towards the
ground. "This has been an amazing night, Avery. Thank you so
much for joining me this evening. It's been a while since I did
something like this."

As they flew through the air Avery couldn't help but smile at
the whole thing, the whole night! It was fun and that something
new she's been waiting for. She lands with Ebony in front of the
library, at this time the streets were very quiet and most
ponies were asleep. "I had an amazing time too Ebony, thank you
for showing me all those great things. I'm glad you could take
some time to relax." A little yawn escapes her, it was late and
the swim tired her out more than she thought. "I guess it's time
to hit the hay. Feel free to keep in touch okay?" Avery leans in
and gives the noctral a hug.

Ebony returns the hug in full, "Of course, Avery. I'll reach out
to you next time I'm in the area. We certainly need to do this
again. Have a safe and nice evening." Breaking away from the
hug, he gives her a much more casual bow and a clever wink. "See
you around, beautiful." Before she could say anything, the
Noctral takes off into the night.

Avery watches as Ebony takes off with a blush on her face.
Today...was an interesting day... She smiles as she makes her
way home, thinking fondly of the days events.
