"That's true, Avery." Ebony replies as he smiles. "In terms of
ways I enjoy that time; I exercise, hike outdoors, stop by
here." He chuckles at the last bit. "I also delve into cooking
as well. It's been a side passion since I was a kid actually. My
mother would take my sister and I hunting. Not everything out in
the wild tasted good, but blend the right things together and
you can actually enjoy what you catch and find. From necessity
came curiosity, then inspiration for the culinary art. So,
speaking of free time, what do you like to do in yours?" The
noctral takes a swig of his drink, emptying the last bit.

Avery looks at Ebony and smiles, learning things about him was
truly interesting. "Cooking huh? That's pretty impressive, I'm
not much into cooking myself. I wish I was though." She trails
off for only a moment, part of her heart ached from the mention
of his mother and sister. The tone he used when talking about
his family was the same one he used when he spoke about his
village, it was so sweet and pure.
"Free time?" She repeated his question as she snapped out of her
thoughts. "I'm fortunate to have a lot of free time on my
hooves, my days aren't exactly busy. When I'm not at the library
I'm usually walking around town or sitting in a park somewhere
thinking of ideas for my writing, then I...write. I also have a
small garden I enjoy tending..." She pauses when she realizes
how mundane her daily life must seem to him, he's probably done
more exciting things in a month than she's done in all her
years.
Avery quickly recovers and continues, hoping to add something in
there that wasn't a bore. "But I'm only 24, I have plenty of
time to have the adventures I'm hoping for and to maybe travel
somewhere that isn't somewhere in Ponyville, I haven't even been
to Canterlot before."

"Trust me, that's something you don't want to rush," Ebony
explains. Briggs comes back and gives him a refill, filling up
Avery's glass as well. "Next thing you know you end up being
dragged through absolute hell and it doesn't look pretty." He
doesn't specify how literal that statement was, rather he just
leaves it at that. "You would love Canterlot though. Especially
their library at the castle. The Ponyville Library is nice, but
in terms of scale. Canterlot, hoofs down. I'l be there for a bit
for research, but that's for another time." Coldsteel starts
drinking his second round, "I am aware of the art of writing
very well myself." His grin starts to grow, "It's amazing how
you can weave a tale and enthrall the reader in a whole new
world. Or in my case, show them a glimpse into my own."

It was nice to have somepony to talk to who appreciated writing
also, "That's very true Ebony." Avery brought her wing forward
and lifted up the glass of wine and took a large sip, after this
she knew she should slow down. She never drank so naturally
she'd be a lightweight, though Avery was good at pacing herself.
"To be honest, I'm kinda at my limit here. I apologize, I don't
drink very often." Avery knew being honest was always best, plus
she didn't want to get drunk. "Would it be alright if we headed
out?" She gave him a sweet smile in hopes of hiding her
embarrassment.

"Of course." Ebony nods as he finishes his last bit of drink
left. "It's nice to get some fresh air." He lightly taps on the
counter, "Briggs! Thanks for the drinks. Ill be seeing you
around soon." He stretches out his wings and legs, slightly
cringing a bit at his brace. Coldsteel trots over to the door as
Briggs waves the two goodbye. The night outside was clear and
beautiful, the stars littering the dark canvas above. The
noctral takes a deep breath, inhaling the warm air, "Ah... it's
wonderful outside. Thin you're good to fly?"

Avery needed the breath of fresh air, she smiled as she spread
her wings. "Yeah, I'm good to fly." She laughed as she gave him
a friendly light nudge, "How about you Ebony? Are you good to
fly?" A goofy smile crossed her face as she stared up at the
night sky, "Where to next?"

"Oh I'm always good to fly, Avery." Ebony says as he struts
towards a clearing. He boldly flaps his wings open, ears perking
up with excitement. "As for where? Well... wherever the wind
takes us. Just try to keep up." Without another word, he takes
off into the sky, swooping in a narrow circle and stopping at a
hover over Avery. The noctral cleverly winks at her, flapping
his wings to get a little higher.

Avery couldn't help but blush at Ebony's boldness, Oh get a grip
Avery... She nudges her glasses up before giving him a cute
smirk, "Oh don't underestimate me Ebony, you might have to be
the one who has to keep up." Avery quickly flares her wings out
before taking off above the noctral.

Ebony chuckles as he chases after her, glad at her brazen
attitude. The two ponies soar and glide through the night sky as
the town sleeps. Like swimming underneath an ocean of stars,
they revel in the air beneath their wings, the wind blowing
through their manes, and their own company with each other.
Coldsteel especially would feel lighter than air; it's been a
long time since he's felt so relaxed, free from his
responsibilities even if it's just for one night. As they near
the edge of the town, he looks over to a small corner of the
forest and banks over to Avery, "Hey, follow me! I got a place
to show you." Tilting his wings, e curves around and heads over
to the woods.

As the two fly Avery revels in the scenery, the night sky was so
beautiful. It's been a while since she's had this much fun. She
watches as Ebony flies so effortlessly and calm, it was
admiring. Avery had to admit, she wasn't expecting anything like
this...especially not him. She follows Ebony flawlessly as he
alters his course a bit, The forest huh? It's been a while since
she's spent time there, but she follows him without hesitation
anyway.
