Re: The International Conference (Lifeline, Cal, and Goldie only

Cali watched it all happen with her characteristic neutral
expression, but mentally, she was starting to stress about her
lack of weapons. Why did they have to- BOOM! The explosion threw
Cali forcefully against the wall, causing her head to hit it
with a positively sickening crack. She slid down the wall,
biting back a pained groan as blood trickled down her temple.
Fortunately, her wheelchair remained intact, but was tipped on
its side, keeping Cali on the ground. She opened her eyes,
seeing double. As a result, she couldn't fully discern what was
going on, but she heard gunfire close by. A weapon, she needed a
weapon! Her vision finally started to clear as her eyes located
Lifeline's pistol a few feet away. Cali's magic enveloped it and
pulled it towards her, but Cali still had one problem: from her
prone position, she couldn't see over the desk to see who she
needed to shoot. Come on, think!
Suddenly her eyes brightened. The gun had slid under the desk.
Of course! Se dropped her head, pressing it against the floor as
she strained to see through the few inches of clearance under
the desk. She could see the body of the very still Last Clip,
and from the amount of blood, she could guess at his fate. She
also saw Lifeline dragging herself away from four black-clad
hooves... at least, that's all Cali could see of the gunpony.
Cali had to act quickly.
Taking into account the average height of a stallion, the gender
mostly a guess extrapolated from the size of the hooves Cali
could see; the speed of which he was approaching Lifeline; and
the angle of his approach; Cali levitated the pistol slightly
above the desk. She didn't double-check her mental work, mostly
leaving it to instinct as she positioned the pistol and fired at
the hostile soldier's head. Regardless if she killed him or not,
Cali immediately pulled the gun back out of sight. If they saw
where she was firing from and located her on the other sound of
the desk, she was done for. Unless, of course, she could find
somepony to help her up... She started looking around for the
golden-maned mare.

Golden's attention was also drawn to the trucks now, hearing
others speak about them. She wasn't sure what was wrong, as the
radio chatter between the ponies went unheard by her ears. Not
knowing what was going on made her really nervous. Her ears
perked when Lifeline called them over, Golden obeying the order,
but no letting her eyes leave the trucks. Luckily the situation
was over fast. Golden stopped where she was when Lifeline gave
an all clear on the trucks. "Oh, it's only good to be careful
these days. It's-" Golden was cut off by the sudden arrival of
hostile ponies. The glass shattering and flying everywhere made
Golden duck down and shield her eyes with her goggles. Taking
cover by the desk, as the soldiers returned fire, Golden felt
her heart race. She however, had no time to collect her
thoughts, as suddenly a huge explosion happened in the lobby,
one of the trucks having exploded.
The shock wave caused the table to fly and topple over, knocking
Golden unconscious in the process, her lifeless form collapsing
next to the table.
After a period of time, that probably was much shorter than it
had felt, Golden rubbed her head as she began to regain her
consciousness. Her forehead was bleeding, and her headache only
confirmed that her head had suffered some trauma by the heavy
table. She tried to look around, but it was mostly hazy. She
failed to spot any of the friendly ponies previously in the
room, only seeing one of the black dressed ponies walking by the
table, and towards... Lifeline! Adrenaline rushed in her body,
and Golden was trying to think of something, but her mind was
forced to make the decision, when she heard a gunshot. the
ringing in her ears made it impossible to pinpoint, where the
shot came from, but Golden took it as a hostile bullet. Looking
up again, she saw the same pony slowly walking away from her,
and now she spotted another pony not too far from the first one.
The decision to act was made.
Golden enveloped the heavy wooden desk in her magic, and with
massive force, slammed it at the nearest hostile pony,
splintering the entire desk and sending that pony flying back
from the window they had first came through of. The air was
filled with falling papers from the drawers of the desk.
Realizing her cover was gone, Golden brought out one of her
screwdrivers with her magic, before jumping on the second pony's
back, attempting to stab him with the screwdriver

The bullet hit the pony right in the head and soon after one of
his teammates was thrown out a window while the other one let
our a scram as the screw driver impales him. It was quiet again
except for the crackling of the fire.
Lifeline looked around and slowly dragged herself up.
"Thank you both..." She said between her heaving breathing. Her
gaze turned back to Last Clip as she attempted to make it over
to her friend but collapsed before getting all the way over. "Oh
god.... Oh god no..." She was able to hunch over him and
immediately began to reach into her pockets for supplies.
"Don't worry... I-I'll get you fixed up buddy.... You'll be
fine. Don't you worry one bit." Tears formed at the corners of
her eyes and as she attempted to patch him up they began to
fall, making silent tapping noises against his uniform. "I saved
a lot of ponies before... It's gonna be okay I can save you!
I'll patch you up and we can get out of here okay? Please answer
me...." She was full on crying now. It hurt a lot, but she
ignored the pain. "You'll be ready for when they move us to
Canterlot okay? I know you always wanted to go back home... We
are gonna meet your family together.... I... I promised..." She
continued to sob as more tears fell on his body. She refused to
accept that one of her best friends wasn't with her anymore.

Cali gave a small sigh of relief as she saw her target drop to
the ground. A scream testified to the fate of at least one of
the other hostile soldiers. But Cali watched with a somber
expression as she watched Lifeline try to help Last Clip.
Somepony was going to have to break the news...
Cali was used to levitating light firearm parts, not
wheelchairs, but she knew she had to try. Her horn glowed and,
with a grunt of exertion, Cali righted the contraption with her
magic, pulling herself upright in the process. With that, she
picked her way through shattered glass and various debris and
made her way to Lifeline's side. She gently placed a hoof of
Lifeline's shoulder.
"He's gone, Lifeline. I'm sorry..."

As the pony under Golden collapsed, lifeless, dead, on the
floor, Golden jumped back from the lifeless enemy, ditching the
bloody screwdriver when she realized she was still holding it in
her magic. "S-sweet Celestia... I-i killed that pony..." Golden
muttered under her breath, that she was still having trouble
catching after the rush she just went through. She looked at the
general direction of where she tossed the table at, seeing
nothing but splinters and scattered papers on the floor.
Golden's attention was drawn to Cali, who made her way to
Lifeline. She barely knew either pony, immediately thinking that
they were friends, from the way Cali tried to comfort Lifeline.
Golden took a step back, followed by another, until she was a
good distance away from the two. She turned and tried to get a
view at the lobby, to see just how badly things had gone bad.

"I....I...." Lifeline wiped her tears from underneath her
glasses. "I know..." She stared at the lifeless body before
taking his dog tags and placing them in her pouch.
"Thank you both for saving me..." She coughed and collapsed a
bit when she tried to stand. The bullet wounds were softened
because of her vest, but it still hurt. There was more gunfire
in the distance. "Miss Calibre... Miss Gear... I must get you
two to safety... Quickly before more arrive... Our security
teams will handle the situation here... We need to *cough* get
to the jeep garage... There should be a vehicle there for us."

Cali offered her front leg as support as Lifeline struggled to
stand. "Alright, let's go," she said determinedly. She seemed
surprisingly unfazed by the whole situation. Cali had gotten in
much tighter spots than this, and she wasn't dead yet. She
glanced over at Golden. "Are you alright?" She said in a
business-like tone. "If so... Lead the way, Lifeline."

Golden snapped out of her little sight seeing to the destroyed
lobby. She looked back at the two, not having really registered
anything they've spoken about, apart from Cali's request for
Lifeline to lead them to somewhere. Golden shook her head,
before following after the two, not saying a word. She was still
in shock over what just happened.

Lifeline grunted every few steps and winced as she led the two
though flames and dead IA soldiers and attackers. They began
seeing a few dead ponies in suits which worried Lifeline but she
pressed forward. Using her key card opened a door and quickly
closed it when the other two were through and there was a white
jeep with IA written on the doors. The medic herself slid her
keycard again to get into an office to grab a pair of keys and
unlocked the door and gave them to Goldie.
"I am in no condition to drive... But I'll give you directions."
She offered to help Calibre into the back seat.

Although Cali stayed stoic, inwardly she winced at Lifeline's
grunts of pain. "Thanks," she muttered as Lifeline helped her
into the jeep, looking more than a little embarrassed for
needing help in the first place. She suddenly realized she was
still holding Lifeline's pistol in her magic, and, after a
moment of hesitation, offered it to the injured mare. "I think
you dropped this," was all she said before turning forward.
