The International Conference (Lifeline, Cal, and Goldie only)
By: Lifeline Date: May 8, 2017, 6:10 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The office was at first bustling with uniformed ponies moving
around getting ready for the large conference that would be
taking place soon. Lifeline was spinning around in the office
chair at the front desk. She was moved to work at this
particular office on the edge of Equestria just for today. This
office (a base rarely used by the IA)was in the middle of no
where for a good reason. They didn't want the press to be all
over this event and they wanted to keep it away from civilians.
There were important representatives from different nations
arriving to hold a private conference. Thankfully, Lifeline
didn't have much to do other than to welcome anyone that came
through the doors and assist any arriving translator or employee
where to go. However, it was incredibly boring at the moment.
She let out a huge yawn and put her head down on the table when
a stallion arrived and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hmm? Oh hey Last Clip." Lifeline's head shot up and she put on
a smile.
"Hanging in there? I'm sure you get a lot of action working
here."
"Oh yeah, I directed at least 20 people to the bathroom so far."
Lifeline chuckled. "Thanks for checking in."

A burly stallion pulling a taxi carriage pulled up in front the
building. The stallion quickly unharnessed himself and went to
the door, which he opened and then pulled down a ramp leading
down to the ground. An unicorn mare with a fuchsia coat stuck
her head out before stepping down the ramp, her back legs held
up off the ground by a wheeled harness as she rolled down. She
gave the stallion a smile. "Thank you," she said, and levitated
some bits over to him. He nodded, closing up the carriage before
leaving.
Cali turned to the building in front of her and headed to the
front doors. She was eager for today, she had been working on
this weaponry feature for months. The diplomat she was showing
it today would be very pleased. He had come to Cali looking for
a new weapon to carry on him for self-defense, and offered a
large sum of bits. Cali hadn't been about to turn down the
money, nor such a prestigious client. It was bit of an
inconvenience, having to meet him all the way out here, but she
knew he was a very busy pony. Cali's two personal guns, both
equipped with the feature in question, were in holsters on
either side of her, ready to be shown to her client.
She headed though the doors and into the lobby of the building,
looking around with her usual calculating gaze.

Behind all the grand preparations for the conference, officially
dressed up ponies ran back and forth, making sure everything was
ready. Officials of various factions and races were gathering
into the building, from all around the world. Behind the veil of
formality and uniforms, in the garage of the building, vehicles
of all sorts were being prepared for what seemed to be a parade.
They were missing the lead truck though. It still sat in it's
designated spot, with it's hood up and few ponies gathered
around it. Two of the ponies were dressed up for the conference
as well, but one of them was clearly sticking out of the dress
code most of the ponies around there were part of, with the
bright blue overalls and black rubber boots she was wearing.
Deep within the engine room, a mare was fixing the engine, only
her hind hooves and golden, albeit currently oil stained tail
were visible from under the hood.
"Wrench please. 12mm" The mare called from deep within the
engine room
The other two ponies didn't seem to pay much attention, as they
were day dreaming about being part of the parade
"Wrench, 12mm" The mare called again, before then climbing up
when she was not receiving the tool she needed. Golden lifted
her goggles up to her forehead, before kicking the other pony on
the shoulder, which caused the pony to wince in jolt of pain
"What!?" he whined, rubbing his shoulder
"Wake up junior. Your parade ain't going anywhere without this
truck here." Golden then extended her hoof to the pony, who
stared at the booted hoof for a second, before recalling the
faint call for a wrench. "O-oh! Here you go ma'am!" Golden
raised her eyebrow and stared at the stallion, who seemed to
panic a bit "What size did i ask for? If this was a war, you'd
be dead soldier"
As Golden was handed the right tool, the second stallion was
laughing at his comrade's pain, but the laughter quickly stopped
when Golden addressed him as well "Be of use buttercup, and go
start the engine" Golden then dove back into the engine room, to
continue the operation, and to see, if the engine would start.

Lifeline was playing around in her swivel chair before noticing
a mare walk in. She looked at the two holsters suspiciously, but
when she saw the face and recognized it, she kept her smile on.
"Hello! Welcome to the IA Conference, you must be Ms. Dusk
Calibre" She searched through a list before marking it up. "The
stallion you are meeting with is busy right now, if it's
alright, I'm going to have to confiscate both those weapons you
are presenting to him. I promise they will be there when you
meet with him, but this is protocol. We got a lot of important
diplomats here today I'm sure you understand." She got up from
her desk as her and Last Clip stood with their hooves out.

Cali had suspected that they may take her weapons for security
purposes, but that didn't stop a ripple of annoyance passing
through her. She concealed it with a neutral smile, however, and
nodded. "Of course. Safety comes first." Her horn glowed gold
and the two firearms were levitated out of the holsters and
towards the other ponies. Cali kept her smile on and addressed
Lifeline. "I appear to be at a disadvantage. You know me, but I
don't know you." The weapons dealer had met multiple ponies from
the IA as a result of her contract with them, but she didn't
recognize this particular mare.

The engine of the truck whirred few times when the key was
turned, but the truck failed to start. "What the... What on
Equestria have you done to this poor engine?" Golden asked,
looking at the dead metal beast and rubbing the back of her head
with a hoof.
"Well..." the soldier who failed to provide the right tool
earlier started. "It all started when me and little Stock here
came here in the garage and-" Golden interrupted the pony with a
deep sigh.
"Doesn't matter. I'm gonna give this truck some first aid and
get it going for the parade. I'll come back and properly fix it
afterwards." Golden floated bunch of tools to her, before diving
back to the engine room. Shortly, a small pile of parts was
floated out from under the hood, followed by the mechanic mare,
before she then slammed the hood shut. "That should do it. Go
try it"
As the key was turned, the engine softly whirred to life. "Don't
run it too much before the parade. It should last all the way
through. I'm gonna go and order some parts for it." *Golden
floated the tools into her tool box, that then fade out of
existence, as Golden left the truck's side, and the two
uniformed ponies to the now running car. She headed to the info
table, to ask who she needs to see to ask about the budget for
the repairs of the truck

"I'll take em." Last Clip responded as he carefully brought them
to another room. Meanwhile Lifeline pushed her glasses up her
nose. "My name is Lifeline. Pleased to meet you." More IA
officials were bustling about around them, some dropping off
packets on her desk.
"Hello... Golden Gear right? Are the trucks all back up and
running? We really appreciate..." Her voice trailed off as she
saw two armored trucks pulled up. "...Um sorry about that... I
can notify the teams that the trucks are up and running again."
Last Clip returned.
"Hey Last Mag... those two trucks... Are they just extra
security?" She whispered.

Cali nodded with a charming smile. "Likewise, Lifeline." She was
silent as Lifeline addressed the new arrival, however her ears
swiveled to try and catch the mare's whisper to her coworker.
Unfortunately, she didn't quite catch it, but she did follow
Lifeline's gaze to the armored trucks. Were those trucks
supposed to be there?

"Pretty much. The lead truck is gonna need a new engine, but it
should last this one last event. I was actually here to ask..."
Golden trailed off as well, when Lifeline's attention was drawn
elsewhere. Golden looked behind her, at the general direction
of where Lineline looked at, but didn't see anything out of
ordinary. "Uhm... I can wait if i'm interrupting something..."
She said when Lifeline began to whisper to another officially
dressed pony

"I don't recognize those." Last Clip responded. "Security... We
got two unidentified vehicles."
"I am sorry Miss Calibre and Miss Gear. Please hurry towards
us." She edged the two mares towards behind her desk.
"What? The signal is unclear!" Last Clip spoke louder as
Lifeline pulled out a pistol as Last Clip continued to try and
reach a security team. Suddenly the one of the trucks's engines
started again as it drove closer to the building. However it was
directed by a stallion in an IA uniform.
"They said they were expecting the truck's..." Last Clip got off
the radio.
Lifeline put her pistol away and let out a deep breath. "Looks
like it wasn't anything..." She slowly backed up and fixed her
beret. "Sorry about the scare... You have to understand this
conference has us... all on edge..."
Suddenly behind Lifeline, ponies in black uniforms hopped out
and opened fire shattering the window. Lifeline dove and
immediately shielded both Goldie and Calibre. Last Clip
immediately returned fire.
"Stay here you two." Lifeline ordered and pushed them beneath
her desk before turning around. Her and Last Clip pushed forward
when suddenly the truck exploded. A huge explosion engulfed the
lobby that would send anypony close flying. However, the gunfire
close by stopped and there was nothing but flames surrounding
the area. Last Clip was groaning loudly as he was clutching his
gut. Lifeline quickly slid over. "Oh.... Oh no... Here... Let me
get you to safety." She began to drag him back towards the table
when the gunfire got closer and eventually 3 ponies entered and
opened fired hitting both Last Clip and Lifeline. The medic pony
fell backwards as both IA soldiers groaned. Lifeline's pistol
slid backwards underneath the desk between Calibre and Goldie.
One of the hostile soldier approached Last Clip and fired a shot
right into his head as approached Lifeline who was trying to
drag herself away.
