As the group ventures inside, they are met with a serene calm of
the well lit restaurant. The soothing sounds of violins echo in
the background, fresh food fill their senses. There aren't many
patrons, but Fox and Mesa are directed to the table in the back.
A stallion suited up in a black tuxedo is found enjoying his
meal. Once he sees them, he pats his napkin on his mouth and
pauses his eating. Running a hoof back along his slick, black
mane, he greets the new arrivals with a smile. "Ah, Mr. Trot!
Very good to see you! Please, sit."
Roni and Pepper pull out seats for the unicorn and Pegasus.
Foxtrot takes a seat and gets comfortable. "You seem to have me
       at a disadvantage, mister...?"
"Al. Al Caponi." He reaches over and takes a sip of his wine.
"No offense, but I was only expecting one pony. Who is this
       mare?"

Mesa looked around, looking oddly uncomfortable. This wasn't
really her type of venue, she just didn't fit into nice places
like this. She forced herself to focus on the problem at hoof
and followed after the others, though she didn't occasionally
glance around for the father she knew would eventually reappear.
Mesa took a seat, then blinked at the question. "I'm Mesa. I
work with Foxtrot," she lied, not too badly. She had never liked
lying, but she wasn't about to get kicked out for telling the
truth. So she left it simple, albeit with an tacked on, "Nice to
       meet you, Mr. Caponi."

"Likewise, my dear," Mr. Caponi replies with a warm smile. His
aged features spoke of experience. "So, let's get to it. Time
here is of the essence," he leans forward, his tone becoming
more serious, "one of my boys found a schedule for some crates
being delivered. We know the when and what but not the where and
why. A boss by the name of Scarhoof is calling the shots. He
usually frequents a local cabaret here in Canterlot."
The unicorn nods as he mentally notates the details. "That's
quite an accusation, Mr. Caponi. Do you have any evidence to
support this claim?" Al nods, pulling a folded paper out of his
pocket and sliding it over to him. Foxtrot picks it up and reads
it, "It's legitimate. So why would a stallion such as yourself
       being this over to me?"
"I've heard of your previous work," Caponi answers. "Both in and
out of the guard. I need this to be as low level as possible.
And as a concerned citizen, I felt it was civic duty to relay
       this to you."
       "Uh huh..." Foxtrot skeptically retorts.

Mesa leaned forward as well, ears perked in curiosity. She did
cast a sideways glance at the unicorn stallion as Foxtrot's work
was mentioned. That was something to ask about later. Mesa had
always been a bit nosy, but something about Foxtrot made her
even more curious than usual. Something about him spoke of
       secrets...
Though she knew it would probably be safest to sit back and let
Foxtrot handle the talking, Mesa couldn't help but interject.
"You say you know the 'what and when'. What exactly is being
delivered, or were you simply speaking of the crates?" Mesa
tried to keep her voice quiet and authoritative, like a real
guard's voice would sound. Or so she would imagine. She didn't
particularly try to tangle with the Guard often.

"I was referring to the crates, my dear," Al Caponi replies.
"We've reason to believe that they have weapons, explosives, or
both. Normally it isn't a big deal; something like that happens
every couple of months. What makes this one stick out is the
amount. On average a dealing like this involves a truckload, 10
to 15 crates. But this one..." He lifts up his glass and takes a
sip of his wine, "50 to 60, the largest I've seen in a decade.
Nothing like that just happens without some other party pulling
bigger strings. And the time frame is too rushed as well. If I-"
Al pauses, rethinking his approach, "hypothetically were to run
an operation like that, it would be over the course of the year.
Never so much in one go; it makes one sloppy. Scarhoof thought
he could pull it off but he got careless; secrets were spilled,
and now here we are. The trade off is set to go down within the
next 8 hours, however we don't know the exact time or place."
"We'll figure that out." Foxtrot replies, leaning forward. "So
you said Scarhoof is a local cabaret? What's it called?"
"It's called the Red Banana." Al is met with a confused look by
the unicorn and shrugs, "Eh. Not all of them are gonna sound
good. Regardless, its a more 'suit and tie' affair. So you and
your partner are gonna have to change your wardrobe. Roni and
Pepper can take you to one of my trusted tailors to set you two
up nice. After that they can drop you off near the club; you
both will be flying solo from there. Scarhoof has his guys
guarding the place, so they can't be anywhere near there.

Mesa's eyes widened at hearing the number of crates, starting to
realize this might be more important than a mere distraction.
She continued listening, mentally telling herself that she would
give it her all. All there was left to see was how useful she'd
actually be in a situation like this... Mesa brushed her
       self-doubting thoughts away.
"Sounds like a plan," she chipped in. She looked at Foxtrot.
"Are we missing anything major we need to ask?"

"No, that should be everything," Foxtrot answers as he gets up
and stretches. "Mr. Caponi, the Royal Guard thanks you for your
assistance in this matter. I'm sure with enough evidence we can
take down Scarhoof and lock him and boys up for a long time."
His tone hints at a little bit of sarcasm, "An upstanding
citizen like yourself can rest easy knowing the likes of him are
out of way of your... business."
"Oh it certainly is," Al replies, rather smug. He takes out a
cigar and bites into it. It glows a bright orange as he takes a
puff and exhales the smoke over to them, "You two be careful out
there. Scarhoof ain't some lightweight, and he'll have no issue
wasting you two if he so much suspects anything."
"Noted." Foxtrot nods as his senses are filled with smoke.
"C'mon Mesa, it's time to suit up." A few minutes later the two
would find themselves back in Pepper's car with Roni at the
wheel. The unicorn is silent throughout, showing a mix of
concern and deep thought as he tried to plan out how to handle
the Scarhoof situation as well as figure out what the strange
       symbol is his vision is.

Mesa coughed a little as the smoke washed over her, her eyes
watering. She just nodded at Al's warning, then turned and
       followed after Foxtrot.
She was quiet as well as they drove, before she reached over and
nudged Foxtrot's shoulder with her hoof. She spoke quietly, so
the stallions at the front couldn't hear. "Do you really think
Scarhoof will try to, uh... 'waste' us?" She looked more
thoughtful than scared at the prospect. Something suddenly
occurred to her and she added, with a hint of annoyance, "I
suppose it won't be... socially acceptable to bring my bow in,
       huh? Hmm..."

Foxtrot looks over to her and nods, matching her volume of
speaking, "Yes to both questions. Someone like Scarhoof
certainly won't take kindly to ponies like us snooping around in
his business. We'll have to blend in once we get there, appear
to be just random patrons looking for a good time. After that
we'll scout the area and find an opportunity to sneak to
wherever we have to go to get the information. I... have
somewhat of an idea as what we can do for the bow, but it
depends on whether or not the place we're going to get our
outfits will have it. Maybe a case for a musical instrument or
something can be used to hide it in. Regardless, we have to be
careful, if you think we're being watched, just let me know so
we can lay low for a bit to throw them off our tail."
The makes another turn before slowing down. Minutes later it
stops in front of a small boutique store, 'Remarkable Regalia.'
Roni and Pepper get out of the car and stretch. "Alright you
two," Pepper says as he opens the door for them, "We'll be out
here keeping watch while you two get something nice. Al says
it's on him so don't worry about paying for anything.
Stepping out, Foxtrot looks over the store, "Well that's rather
kind of him. I gotta than-" The unicorn cuts himself off as he
looks at the store's main sign as it shines with bright a red
neon color. The letters E, M, G, and A glow bright green in his
view as the strange symbol, still persistent in his vision,
grows slightly. To the outside world, Foxtrot appears to have
seen a ghost. His gaze is distant and his body frozen in place.
The only movement is is scarred ear, which erratically twitches.

Mesa nodded several times. "A case is a good idea. And don't
worry, I'll keep a sharp eye out." She was silent for the rest
of the ride, becoming more relaxed as time went by and no
       hallucinations appeared.
When they arrived she got out. "Yes, that's very- Foxtrot?" She
stared at him, her own ears going back. His expression was very
familiar, but it took Mesa a long moment to realize why: it was
the reflection of her own expression from earlier that evening,
when she had first seen her father. Could... could Foxtrot be
hallucinating like Mesa had? No, that couldn't be. He was a
guard, they were tougher than Mesa. She had never met anyone
that had even made her suspect they had the same problem as
       Mesa. There was no way...
She realized several moments had passed with her just staring at
the stallion, and she mentally tucked away her suspicions. Those
could be addressed later. So she quickly walked over to Foxtrot
and very gently touched his shoulder again. "Foxtrot?" She
repeated softly. "Foxtrot, are you alright?"
