Morgayne started to approach the collapsed Lucid, intent on
taking the bag and being on her way. When Lucid pulled herself
out of the trance, however, Morgayne froze, eyes wide. A normal
pony should not have been able to "wake up" that quickly. Some
ponies had a degree of immunity towards the abilities of a
selkie, though the water-born species had no idea why they did.
Could Morgayne have stumbled across one?
She gritted her teeth, prepared to retort when suddenly a wave
of sleepiness washed over her. She swayed and let out an
enormous yawn, ears going flat against her head. It suddenly
became very difficult to think through the fog that had crept
over her mind.

If Morgayne would fall into the deep slumber she would've woke
up in a really colorful environment. Almost like blurred
abstract art around her. Lucid would be standing in front of
her. Her eyes glowing.
"Welcome to my dreamscape. I run this place." She took a step as
the colors melted away and they were surrounded by darkness as
Morgayne would be suddenly locked onto a small wood panel that
faced Lucid.
"As I said, you and I have a lot in common."

Morgayne tried to shake her head to wake herself up, but her
movements were slow and sleepy. Darkness claimed her and she
collapsed to the ground, deeply asleep.
When Morgayne opened her eyes, she looked around in confusion,
then caught sight of Lucid. Before the selkie could make any
movements towards her, however, she found herself unable to move
further. She didn't struggle, refusing to do anything that might
give Lucid any measure of satisfaction. She narrowed her eyes at
the dreamscape's creator. "I'd advise you not to make the
mistake of thinking you know anything about me," she snarled. "I
have nothing in common with a petty thief!"

A cart with knives appeared next to Orchid as she levitated one
up and threw it barely missing Morgayne sticking onto the wood
board.
"Petty Thief? You don't know me either. I'm talking about our
abilities." Lucid smiled deviously as she threw another knife
missing her again. "Regardless I say we stop trying to cheat one
another and I take my gem back and you take yours. I doubt you
know anything about what i'm stealing anyways."

Morgayne flinched as the knife was thrown, more out of surprise
than fear. More prepared for the second one, she didn't even bat
an eye. "You're right... I don't. And last time I checked, I
don't really care," she informed Lucid, before tilting her head
slightly. "You say I don't know you, but are you sure about
that? It's not hard to guess all I need to know. You steal for
personal gain, which is absolutely pathetic," she snapped, her
gaze spiteful.

"Don't try to act like you are at all any better than me. It may
be for personal gain, but it's a lot more complicated. What the
hay do you even steal for, wait why don't try and see for
ourselves?" The room transformed into a blank room again. "Shall
we explore your dreams? Or can I get my damn gem back and be on
my way because I got a town to run and you are really starting
to annoy me."

Morgayne looked Lucid suspiciously. Explore... her dreams? Did
that sort of magic even exist? "I'm annoying you? Look, I don't
what's so wonderful about that precious gem, but I can tell you
one thing... I'm sure as hell not afraid of you," Morgayne told
the other mare, normally pretty face twisted into a glare.

The surrounding area would transform into the first subconscious
layer of Morgayne's dreams.
"Look, at this point I don't care if you are afraid of me or not
and honestly I could be doing better things thank rummaging
through your stupid subconscious. All I want, is for me to get
my 'wonderful' gem back and be on my way."

All at once, the two mares would find themselves beneath the
ocean's surface. Sunlight filtered through the water, beautiful
shadows dancing across the sandy sea floor. All manner of ocean
life swam about, weaving between colorful coral and underwater
plants. Selkies in their seal form roamed about the fish
peacefully.
Morgayne froze, jaw dropping. It was home, as she liked to
remember it. "How are you... how..." She stammered, dumbfounded
as to how this was possible.

Lucid's heart warmed a little bit on how cute this was.
"I told you... Welcome to the outer most level of your
subconscious. You are dreaming." She floated around. "We can
continue to explore if you want. Or we can stop this nonsense
and settle down."
