Lima was silent at first when she heard Lina's question. It was
a possibility, but things weren't adding up. "I... I don't think
that's the case, Lina. The Directors abandoned the Hidden
Daggers when things weren't turning out the way they were
supposed to. Hell, The 26 was paid to eliminate the resistance
they created. Maybe... maybe now that The Hidden Daggers know
they're here, they want revenge." The pegasus makes some
adjustments and speeds up towards their destination. "And if
it's the kind of revenge that Juliet and Romeo got, we need to
get to them first." The mare picks up the reciever to the radio,
"Samiel, how well defended is the base we're going to?"
"Not well enough. I'm actually on my own plane heading there
now. I have a squadron with me to provide air support. It will
take some time to get there though. Just begin without me when
you get there."
"Copy that. Stay safe." Turning the radio off, the plane would
glide along the air for another hour before their destination is
in sight.

Lina nodded slightly. Lima's reasoning made sense.
She watched the landscape pass below them before she guessed
they were nearing the end of the flight. She relaxed a little.
The sooner she could get out of this contraption, the better.
"Lima, do you have any sort of plan to get the information you
need? Your strategy didn't seem to work incredibly well last
time." Her tone was far from scathing, more mildly curious.

Lima was silent at first. She didn't like it, but Lina was
right; the first round barely got her anything she needed.
They're pressed for time and with an attack on the base coming,
casual talk isn't an option. "I... just... tell then the truth,
what's going on. Someone, or something named Alpha just murdered
two of their own and used their beaks as brushes and blood as
paint." Add they break through the clouds, the find their
destination below. A base with a small airfield, several
buildings stationed throughout. Although there's a decent amount
of personnel, it appears they can only hold off for so long.
Lima turned on her radio, "This is Agent Lima, requesting
permission to land." The operator gives her the green light and
they begin their descent. Upon landing and docking in an
enclosed hangar, the two are escorted into one of the large
buildings. Security withheld their weapons of course before
letting them into the interrogation room. "Looks line they're
not here yet. I just..." The pegasus was clearly stressed by the
whole ordeal, in fact, it was hard to discern who she was
talking to.

Lina was fuming childishly at them taking her sword, though she
obviously understood why they did. She rapidly paced the room,
glaring at the floor. Her ear swiveled as she picked up Lima's
stress, however, and the grey pegasus stopped and let out a
heavy sigh.
"Look Lima, I'm sure you'll get your information. If they're not
completely stupid, they'll hear about what happened to Romeo and
Juliet and be wary, if not frightened. That should help. Ponies
will give away pretty much anything, if they think it will save
their flanks." Lina walked over to Lima and looked the other
mare straight in the eyes. "You won't fail, Lima."
Lina didn't know why she was even bothering. Maybe just because
Lima had shown Lina more kindness than she had experienced in
many years.
Suddenly, Lina's ears drooped. "Unlike me," she remarked softly.
"Mother and Father would be so disappointed..." Realizing what
she was saying, Lina quickly stiffened and turned away from Lima
to hide the self-doubt in her expression.

"They shouldn't," Lima immediately replies, though she keeps
from making eye contact. "You've traveled across half the
country for this. They shouldn't be disappointed..." The pegasus
looks over, a small grin tugging at her face, "I know I'm not."
Her focus is broken when the door opens. A pair of guards walk
in first, then two of the Directors. The pegasus, beige in color
with steel eyes, sits first. The other, a minotaur towering
thrice their height and bulk, sits next to him. The air is tense
as they wait for Lima to begin talking.

Lima eyes the two Directors with an intense stare. Soon, she
breaks the silence with a single question. "Who is Alpha?"
"Happy to see you too, Lima." Bravo answers in a sarcastic tone.
He leans back on his seat, "I'm guessing you didn't get the
answer from the other two. How are they by the way?" Judging by
the various bruises and wraps, the pegasus was still recovering
from his fight in Manehattan. Zulu himself seems to have fared
better, but holds his share of wounds.
"Dead," Lima answers, "their beaks were torn off and used as
brushes to write 'Remember Alpha' on the wall. So who is Alpha?"
"Ah f*ck..." The stallion jabs the minotaur in the arm. "I told
you guys we should have hunted him down after he vanished. Now
look at where we're at."
"In a highly secured prison? It could be worse." Zulu snorts.
"So, he's back. Fine, if our information could lead to him
getting taken down I'm willing to share."
"And Yankee?" Bravo raises his brow.
"Can go to hell. This was all his fault anyway." Zulu looks back
to Lima. "Get comfy," his piercing eyes glancing to Lina as
well, "both of you. Because I'm only gonna say this once."

Lina didn't respond to Lima, just turned her attention to the
two Directors as they were brought in. Even the enormous
minotaur didn't frighten Lina, though she did have to keep
herself from instinctively spreading her wings to make her own
self look larger. She listened to the exchange, staying silent
and expressionless, though her ears did perk up slightly in
curiosity. It sounded like Lima was going to get her information
after all.

Once the two mares are seated and at attention, Zulu takes a
deep breath and begins. "Alpha was the first test subject of the
Phantom Initiative. The program itself was to utilize the
resources we had to create the perfect field agent. A mix
between magic, might, and the mind. Yankee spearheaded the
operation, and his first subject was one of our first agents." A
grin creeps up along his face. "A dragon. Roughly my height and
build, nasty set of teeth and claws. We never knew what his real
name was, Yankee dubbed him Alpha for simplicity."
"You guys..." Lima mutters, "Recruited a dragon? And you guys
didn't think this would've backfired!?"
"Why? Because he's a dragon?" Zulu leans forward, "That's
racist, Lima. I'll admit, The 26... strayed from it's original
intent, but we never let one's background affect their
involvement. Something you yourself seemed to have forgotten."

Lina listened intently, surprise breaking her lack of
expression. She was tempted to make a snide comment about, yeah,
that's just fantastic how a murderous group who didn't care who
they killed was conscientious enough not to be racist... But she
refrained.
Her gaze shifted to Lima at Zulu's last comment. Lina didn't say
anything to the other mare, but a question was clear in her
expression.
What does he mean by that?

Lima let's out an annoyed sigh, "Cut the crap, Zulu. So you guys
take this guy in and start training them. How did that go?"
"Surprisingly well," the minotaur calmly answers. "He was a
quick learner, ambitious, and could pack a mean punch. Heck, he
could still breathe fire too, so that worked out as well. I did
much of the training myself. Although we did send him across the
world to train with special units. Germane, Prance, even
Equestria. At the time he was our best agent in terms of
combat."
"But that wasn't enough, was it? The Phantom Initiative wasn't
just training. My agent underwent psychological conditioning.
Triggers to activate a mental state of awareness. All that was
just for what? There was no reason other than to be controlled
at the stomp of a hoof!" Lima's tone held a bit of resentment.
Whether it was towards the directors or herself was unclear.
