As Ebony grabbed his shotgun and stood, his heart seemed to beat
slowly. As the chaos enclosed on them, the Captain scanned what
they were dealing with. The giant spider was still devouring
Glaz's corpse. There were now two of these terrorizing demons
attacking them. Concentrated fire from the soldiers pushed the
first one off of him, while the second was in pursuit of Asher.
Everything's hit the fan, and one loss is already enough. Close
enough to Tinder, the stallion picks her up and thrusts
themselves further away from the demon with his powerful wings.
With his free hoof, the noctral aims his shotgun at the demon
chasing Asher and fires. The pellets fly true and peg the
creature on its lower legs. They soon become encased with ice, a
benefit of Tinder's magic.
The creature recoils back as it struggles to break free from the
ice. It's many eyes dart to the source of its pain.
Coldsteel pulls or from his armor a flare gun and pulls his hoof
back. "Asher! Catch!" The noctral hurls it over to him. "Get to
a window!" He looks over to Tinder, "Tinder, I need you to keep
Asher safe! No matter what happens!" The ice magic holding the
demon wears off, it now starts towards the Captain and his
unicorn companion. "Go! I'll cover you!" He steps forward and
unloads more slugs at the creature, getting is wailing howl in
response.
The first terror demon, beset by a hail of gunfire, retreats
back several rows of tables to get out of range. Black liquid
oozes out of its wounds, but it's far from over. It reaches down
and appears to split the ground open, a sickly green portal
emerging through the stone. It swiftly dives in and disappears
in a blink of an eye. A circle of runes emerges from the ground
behind Fuze and Wyx. Suddenly the portal emerges with the terror
demon breaking the surface like a shark. The sheer action of
emerging in this realm causes a push of brute force over to the
ponies. The fiend let's out a deafening call to all those
nearby. The screech is mind numbing, those caught close enough
won't be able to focus on anything else.

Tinder keeps working her magic on these creatures, trying to
spilt the spell between both once she realises there are two.
When Ebony grabs her she looses the focus she had, the spell
freezing a few things around the room instead of the monsters.
She nods a few times as he gives her orders, she'd much rather
stay and help Ebony, but she knows she has to follow his orders.
She bolts after Asher, doing her best to keep attacking the two,
but with everything going on she can barely stay focused on one.
Even though she can't do much she knows what she's doing might
draw any attention to her and off Asher and Ebony.

A wave of relief went over Asher when he realized Ebony halted
the demon's advances after him. A second later, a flare gun was
entering his field of view. "Whoa!" Asher caught the flare gun
with his magic easily, looking around the library for a window.
His head turned as fast as it could, the windows in the library
were very tall and slim, most of them surprisingly intact. Of
cooooooourse all the windows are in good shape, my luck. Using
his quick wit Asher aimed the flare gun towards one of the
gaping holes in the ceiling instead. He instantly took the shot,
watching as a bright orange red light flew up into the sky.
Asher scanned the room quickly and realized one of the terror
demons was way too close for comfort, it was weakened but he
couldn't risk it hurting anypony. Standing next to Tinder, Asher
pushed over the table in front of them creating cover. For extra
precaution he cast another barrier around the two while the
demon was within it's last seconds of life thanks to Ebony.

The other two Reaper soldiers, overcoming the shock of the
initial surprise attack begin to focus their fire onto the large
spider demon. The creature howls with each bullet that strikes
true, black ichor blood seeps out of the creature before it
retreats away from Glaz's body, and begins to climb up the
ceiling. Wyx and Fuze stop firing for a moment when the terror
demon going for Ebony and the civilians disappears, knocking the
two down from behind. Before they can do anything, they are
deafened by its screech. The screech couldn't kill them, but it
just made life so much harder in terms of actually doing
anything. Rogue sees this, before repositioning so that she has
a clear shot at the creature's mouth. She fires, the bullet
sinking into the creature's mouth, shutting it up with ice, but
not killing it.
The battle outside the castle continues to poor down, the battle
itself see-sawing between both sides. Just as one side gains the
advantage, the other side pushes back. Neither side can seem to
get the upper hand, with no casualties on either side. None yet
at least. In the midst of the fighting, the wooden bridges
connecting the castle to the Everfree was cut down to prevent
the spiders from using the bridge as a means to make their way
into the forest, where EQUINOX and Ponyville were.
As the EQUINOX soldiers are wrapping up the minor scuffle with
the Timberwolf, many of the civilians return demanding answers
for what happened, with EQUINOX suppressing them, sending them
away under the guise of the Royal Guard. But everyone notices
the distinctive orange glow of a flare gun soar into the air,
reaching the apex of its arc before slowly falling downwards.
"That can't be good. Let's move, and call for backup!" two
soldiers call out as the make their way to the flare, the
flametrooper in hot pursuit.

With Asher and Tinder well fortified, the wounded Terror Demon
focuses on Coldsteel, who is still firing slugs at it. It let's
out a shriek and opens a portal beneath it. In it dives and
vanishes out of sight. Ebony holds his fire and starts to
approach the two unicorns. "Tinder! Asher! Stay there! Get more
tables to barri-" He's cut off by an icy cold touch on his back
hoof. The noctral could only look back to Tinder and Asher
before he's pulled into the portal behind him, it seals off with
a glowing pop.
The second terror demon reels back as it tries to claw off the
ice from its face. It reaches out to a large table and
effortlessly tosses it at Rogue. Meanwhile, the giant spider
skitters across the ceiling. Once it's far enough, it turns to
its attackers and spits gobs of webbing. Each is about the size
of a basketball flies through the air at surprising speeds.
After a barrage it leaps down and pounces towards Fuze.

As the barrier is cast around them Tinder starts to loose focus,
there are just two many things going on. Ice forming on the
ground around her as she tries to aim at the creatures, her
magic sparking and sputtering. As soon as she hears Ebony speak
she looks over to him, glad he's still okay, she can't loose
him... As soon as the portal opens behind him she lets out a
yell to try to warn him, bolting to him to try to help, but it's
too late. She circles around the spot where the portal was,
trying to find someway to reopen it, her emotions running away
from her as ice gathers on her. Her legs starting to glisten
from her magic covering then in her own ice. She doesn't even
feel it, she isn't paying attention to anything other then
trying to figure out how to get Ebony back.

There was a lot going on, even by Asher's standards. He didn't
want to say it was safe, it was definitely not but for a small
moment things seemed manageable. That was before Ebony got
sucked into a portal with the demon that is.
"AW C'MON REALLY?!" Asher runs over to the spot with Tinder and
looks at where Ebony got sucked in. There's nothing. Well it is
a portal you idiot, there's not gonna be any indication it was
there. He looks over at Tinder, who looks pretty awful at this
point which is understandable. "We should do something." That
isn't exactly a plan. Okay take ONE second to think, these
things pop out of nowhere through their dumb portals. Which
means that if it comes back, or another one does we can't be
just...standing here. He looks back at Tinder, who doesn't look
like she'd listen to him if he told her to follow him or move.
Asher decides he's going to keep protecting her while he figures
out what to do.
He doesn't know how to help her, but he keeps a very watchful on
her as he quickly moves around the tables in the library. Okay,
this feels stupid but there's not a lot to do at this point. He
hopes that the extra security will help if anything else decides
to creep in here. Asher runs back over to Tinder, completely at
a loss of what to do or say. Ah, crap...

The remaining Reapers continue to fire at their respective
targets as the fight continues. Rogue reloads her weapon,
chambering more rounds into her revolver, the ice from Tinder's
magic spreading onto the bullets, turning them to ice.
Unfortunately during her reloading, she is unable to dodge out
of the way of the table flying towards her. It smashes into her,
knocking her back and down onto the ground. Her protective
EQUINOX standard armour helps her in ensure she does not sustain
such a grievous injury, but she's still pinned under the table.
The other two soldiers who were paralyzed by the spider's
screech begin to shake off their stunned effect, but it is too
late for them. The globs rocket towards the two, knocking them
down and covering them in a sticky substance, they too are
pinned to the ground, unable to move. It then charges towards
Fuze. Unlike the others, he sees this coming, and he is reloaded
and ready, firing the clip into the advancing spider. Wyx too
also fires, the icy bullets slowing its advance.
Outside, the spiders have begun to lose the upper hand and their
advantage. Although Reaper soldiers are down, none of them have
fallen, on the other hand the spiders are beginning to fall.
However, this small victory is short lived, some spiders
beginning to scale down the wet rock walls to the other side.
At this time, the EQUINOX soldiers have made it to the other
side of the bridge, across the chasm separating them from the
Castle of the Two Sisters, and their brothers-in-arms. Just
then, some of the spiders emerge, only to be quickly burnt into
nothing by the flametrooper. "Shoot anything you see. Leave none
alive." he says to the other two, as they all prepare for the
incoming waves of spiders.

Ebony stirs as he hears the howling of wind and breathes in the
scent of embers. "Ugh..." He pushes himself up, waking to find
himself in the impossible. Tartarus, a realm of nightmares and
monsters. The noctral jolts up, grabbing his shotgun resting by
his side. A slender figure ahead grabs his attention, the terror
demon that dragged him down here.
"There is no hope for you foolish creatures," the demon speaks
in a ghastly tone. It turns it's back to the captain as growls
form behind them. Tefelhunden, a pack of four, crawl towards the
noctral with hungry eyes. "Our realm will rise. And the darkness
will end you all!" The demon reaches out and pulls open another
portal. It opens behind Asher and Tinder, too distracted too
notice until it's too late.
Ebony doesn't think twice about what to do; a way to stop the
demon and get back all in one shot. He knew he had five shells
loaded, best to make them count. Coldsteel flares his wings out,
distracting the hounds just enough to aim his gun towards them.
In one feel swoop he fires a slug into one of the hounds, and
vaults himself over to the demon. The tefelhunden give chase,
staying a couple of feet behind him. Not planning to stop, he
crashes into the terror demon, causing both to fly out back into
the archive. They crash right next to the two unicorns. The
demon let's out a shriek as Ebony rolls over, using his weight
to pin it down. Looking back up at the portal, he aims his
shotgun at the dogs leaping through.
*BAM!* *BAM* *BAM!*
All three hounds crash into the floor, dead. Not even bothering
to look, the noctral swings the stock of his gun back. The
hardened wood cracks against the demon's face. Paralyzed, it can
only watch as Coldsteel gets up, point the barrel point blank,
and fire. The portal seals shut, Ebony finally looking over to
them as the demons blood trickles off his face and armor. "Good,
you're both safe! We're not done yet." He reloads his shotgun,
scanning the two remaining threats. "We have to get those
soldiers free. I'll distract the demons, you two get them out."
Ebony shoulders his weapon and fires at the spider and terror
demon. Both are pegged with icy pellets, enough to draw their
attention over to him.

Tinder spins around as she hears the noises coming from behind
her, watching her friend fly out of a portal with all guns
blazing. As soon as she sees him her horn stops sparking, she
knows he's safe now, she can finally focus again. "Good to see
you're still alive. You should get them out, I don't need to
reload my magic so I can distract them. Reloading just makes you
more vulnerable, I can distract them without that worry. So, get
out there and save those folk, I got this." Moving so she's
facing the remaining two, Tinder uses all her​ spells and
energy to start distracting them, she wants to impress Ebony,
even if it puts herself in danger. Veins of ice shooting out
through the floor to grab hold of the creatures, pellets flying
towards them, ice forming around their bodies. Though this may
look cool, it's taking a toll on Tinder, looking more drained
with every spell.
