Tinder flinches as the shot goes off, she hadn't been expecting
it and it frightened her. She moves away from them all after
that shot, maybe coming here wasn't a good idea, maybe she can't
handle the gun fire. It takes her a minute to snap back into
reality when her name is said, "Yeah, I can do it.." She glances
over at Ebony, a bit of fear showing in her eyes as she meets
his. Tinder grabs her kit and heads over to the lock, unlocking
it in a matter of seconds, this is her expertise. "Done.."

Asher whips his head around when he hears a gunshot go off.
Seems one of the guards was getting impatient...Well, that's not
dangerous or anything. He watches in amazement when the lock
suddenly reappears, more intricate than the first one. "Whoa ho!
Now that is the kind of thing I was expecting!" Asher leans back
as Ebony asks Tinder to unlock it, watching in awe when she
easily does the job. He claps his hooves together in enjoyment,
"I'll admit, that was pretty impressive." He looks over at Ebony
and smiles, "Should've had her do that before trigger happy
guard over there had at it. But! It's done."
Asher grabs the book and opens it, various notes and drawings
scattered among each page. He hands the book to Ebony, "If I'm
not mistaken, this is it."

The dark armoured ponies continue to watch on silently as the
others investigate the strange lock, Glaz blowing it off
seemingly had no effect on it, and yet Tinder's lockpicking
seemed to do the job. "Huh, not bad. Looks like you have some
competition hey Fuse?" the soldier identified as Glaz says,
nudging him in a teasing manner. Fuse lets out a grunt before
leaving. Followed by 2 other soldiers. "Alright, if that's
everything, we're leaving. We have everyone else on standby
outside waiting on us." Rogue says, beginning to head off with
Glaz and Wyx.

The rain outside had picked up, by now lightning pierces the
sky. The loud cracks of thunder resonate around the forest.
Water streams down the terraces of the castle. The spiders
remain, still fixed on the soldiers without moving an inch.
Their threads start to glow a bright blue, soon their eyes would
do the same. In the darkness, something much larger lurks. Each
eye viewing what each insect sees.
Ebony takes the book and stows it in his armor, "Good job team!
Sounds like the rain picked up."
"...it...is...time..." The spiders near the Reaper soldiers
start to vibrate, their glow intensifying. As soon as the next
bolt of lightning strikes the sky, each release a magical
discharge of electricity. The troops would find their
communications and electronic equipment completely shut down.
"Now... KILL!" Each of the arachnid's stand changes from blue to
red. Suddenly, they drastically increase in size, matching that
of their prey. With most either above or begind them, the
outside guards wouldn't realize the danger until the spiders
finally pounce. Meanwhile, the puppeteer pulling the strings
keeps the spider inside the archive is original size. It only
follows the team to see where they go.

Asher looks up at the ceiling, raindrops falling through the
open gaps. "Well, that wasn't too bad. We got the book!" His
optimistic voice echos through the library. "I mean...ya know.
Minus the rain." He shakes his head and follows Ebony.

Through the thunder and the rain, the soldiers don't even notice
the massive spiders directly above them. They do however notice
how their communication gear is down, some of the soldiers
getting a small shock, others testing their communication
devices but to no avail. "Comms are down. Everyone on alert!"
one sergeant calls out to the others, and immediately all of
them are on guard while technicians work to get their gear back
online.
Completely unaware to the situation at the castle are the
platoon of EQUINOX soldiers standing guard at the entrance to
the Everfree Forest where everyone convened at the beginning of
the operation. Many soldiers are standing around under shelter
from the rain, some soldiers ordering civilians and any sneaky
news crews out of the area in the interest of public safety.
"Was it supposed to rain today?" One EQUINOX soldier asks
another "Not that I know. I wonder if the guys at the castle are
alright?" the other responds. Neither of them, nor did anyone
there know what was about to unfold.
In the castle itself, the Reapers guarding the civilians look up
the crevices, cracks and exposed parts of the castle that hadn't
been repaired yet, watching the rain roll in. "I don't think we
need to be here any longer than we need to. Let's go." Glaz
says, advancing ahead of the others. "Glaz, hold up." Fuze says,
trying to get him to slow down, but sticking with the others.

As Glaz would near the large double doors leading out of the
archive, a dark veil of fog would seep into the room. The slider
watching them all grows, but unlike the ones outside, it's size
increases to double of any pony in that room. It crawls above
the high ceiling, avoiding the lights to remain in the darkness.
Once the Reaper is in range, it drops from the shadows, lands on
him with a thud, then lunges is fangs down onto him.
Before anyone could react, an invisible force knocks Rogue into
the bookshelves. The other soldiers would be flung into either
the air or the furniture around them. The only sound would be of
lots stomping onto the floor as it drastically increases towards
Ebony, Tinder, and Asher. Tinder and Asher would feel something
cold as ice grab them and toss them aside, leaving the Captain
all by himself.
Coldsteel lifts his shotgun to fire at the arachnid, but I'd cut
off by a sudden force of being punched in the face. He reels
back as he's struck several times from nowhere. In a panic, the
noctral swings his shotgun like a club, when he suddenly strikes
something.
A short screech is heard as a grotesque figure shifts into
sight. The height was already startling to begin with. The side
of the barrel smacks against the arm of this nightmarish terror
that amalgamated right in front of Coldsteel. Arms and legs as
crooked and sharp open to outreaching claws. But the eyes,
bulbing out out the head in numerous locations. They rest above
an outstretched mouth littered with teeth.

The noctral's eyes grow wide with shock at the sight that was
set before him. His hoof tightens the trigger, and a blast
towards the top of the doors. The shade pulls it's arm back,
then strikes the Captain into the air. Ebony crashes onto the
floor. His weapon lands in front of him. His teeth clench, time
to strike back.

Tinder hadn't been paying all that much attention to her
surroundings, she thought the job was done and she didn't need
to look out for danger any longer. Unfortunately, that lead to a
nasty surprise when she was tossed our of the way by an icy
grasp, smashing against one of the bookshelves. It takes her a
second to regain her composure, coughing a few times to try to
get the air back in her lungs, but once she does she is raring
to go. She jumps up as all her weapons form around her, throwing
them one after another at the creature as she moves towards
Ebony to be his shield. She promised she would protect him and
she wasn't lying, a small barrier of ice starting to form around
Ebony, wanting to shield him from any more damage. It's
questionable how long she can keep up this level of magic usage
though, her magic was starting to malfunction earlier so who
knows what might happen if she keeps using it at this rate. None
the less she keeps going, trying to draw the creatures focus to
her so that the others won't be in harms way.

Well this wasn't that bad...A moment after Asher had that
thought everything went downhill. Out of nowhere he was struck
with an invisible throw that was as cold as ice. All he felt was
the impact of his back and head hitting a wall, his vision was
blurry for a moment until he heard sounds of struggle. Asher
looked up from his position on the floor, Ebony was being
attacked and Tinder ran in to protect him. What is that thing?!
Asher stood up slowly to regain his composure until he saw a
second creature, same as the one attacking Ebony come into the
room.
The second creature was too fixated on Ebony and Tinder that it
didn't see Asher in the corner, but it was headed in their
direction. The creature moved in closer to Tinder, she was
either unaware of it or too distracted at the moment. The
'Reaper' moved in to strike with it's elongated arms, but Asher
quickly put up a protection field around Tinder. The barrier
caused the monsters strike to ricochet, stunning it for a
moment. Asher quickly picked up a book and tossed it right at
the creatures head. "HEY! OVER HERE YOU STUPID...THING!" His
distraction caused it to start moving towards him instead, Asher
then leading it into a chase.

Poor Glaz doesn't even see the arachnid monstrosity coming. One
second he's at the door, the next, he's on the ground, with a
massive arachnid chomping down. He has no chance to pull out his
gun, or even say anything. A grunt is his final sound before his
death swiftly comes to him with a bite.
The other Reapers have no chance to attack back as the ethereal
force sends them flying. Rogue is the first to get up, followed
by the other soldiers, all preparing their weapons to fire. "YOU
TWO! GET BACK!" she yells out to them as she, Fuze and Wyx open
fire on the thing attacking Ebony. The icy bullets smashing into
the side of the thing's body. Fuze and Wyx providing suppressing
fire against the creature with their P90 and M249 respectively,
while Rogue is strafing, firing her revolver at the thing's
head, moving to cover Ebony.
At the same time, the soldiers outside of the castle were still
on guard, suspicious at the comms going out. Mechanics worked
safely in shelter to figure out the issue, while everyone was on
alert. The heavy rain and thunder made visibility and hearing
very hard. At that moment the spiders chose to strike, leaping
down. Luckily, one of the soldiers heard a rock tumble, with
enough time to notice the spiders and yell out "CONTACT ABOVE!".
At least the soldiers here were prepared, and they all opened
fire on the spiders. The fight had well and truly broke out as
each side was on the offensive on a dangerous playing field.
Meanwhile, EQUINOX soldiers were still remaining guard at the
entrances, keeping any civilians away. Suddenly a lone
timberwolf wandered into the scene. Immediately, the soldiers
opened fire on the wolf, but this one was fast, simply dodging
out of the way. "Bring out the Flamers!" one of them calls out
as they keep firing. Many of the civilians had already fled,
thankfully the timberwolf wasn't after them. Out of a nearby APC
a heavily armored soldier steps out, holding a flamethrower of
sorts. Walking out of the APC, he gets within range of the
Timberwolf, and activates his weapon. A blue sludge of some sort
shoots out of his weapon, the sludge igniting as it exits from a
nearby flame. The sludge sticks to the Timberwolf, burning it
alive. It isn't long until it is dead. "Good thing we got you
with us." one of the soldiers says to the flame trooper.
