Sage hummed thoughtfully. “Well I suppose there’s really only
way to decide who pays.” A sly grin found its way onto her face,
and in one breath she suddenly blurted, “First one there gets to
treat the rest, one two three GO!” Without waiting for a
response, she suddenly sprinted off. Her gallop only lasted for
a few seconds, before she slowed and skidded several feet until
she found herself at a stop. She sheepishly looked at the
others. “Uh… where’s the town square?” Her eyes darted around,
clearly waiting for the answer just so she could race off again.

Moonlight's stomach grumbled, when was the last time she ate?
She looked around at her surroundings, a small cafe with a
coffee sign caught her eye. "I could really use some hot cocoa
right about now..."
The bell above the door chimed as she trotted in, the overly
friendly waitress greeted her promptly.
"Hello and welcome!" The pony cheerily exclaimed. Her bright
smile slowly fading into a confused expression, "Is there any
other pony joining you? Or..."
Moonlight awkwardly shifted while rubbing the back of her neck.
She looked around the cafe noticing couples or groups of ponies
sitting together. "It's uh...just me...could I be seated please?
Just in the corner somewhere is fine..."
"Of course, this way." The waitress smiled and sat Moonlight in
a table far in the corner where she wouldn't be disturbed.
"Can I have a hot cocoa and a turkey sandwich please?" Moonlight
gave an overly cheesy smile trying to appear as friendly as
possible.
She could instantly see the befuddled look on the waitresses
face.
Yeah that's definitely what normal ponies do Moonlight...
"Of course Miss...." After one last look, the waitress retreated
to the back.
Moonlight let out a sigh, maybe she should have gone home
instead. The very thought of being around other ponies was a
stressful one, let alone talking to them. "I'll just finish here
then head to the train station." She mumbled to herself. In the
corner of her eye she saw two ponies the next table over shoot
her a weird look.
In retaliation she shot them a peeved glance causing them to
instantly look away.
Moonlight stared out the cafe window looking at new ponies
arriving at the festival. They all looked so happy, friends and
families....and here she is alone.

Schwambart watches Sage dash off uncertainly, shaking his head
and grinning. "Alright, Silver, we'll play your silly game," he
says to her as she look around sheepishly. He unfurls his wings
out from under his clothing and sets himself into a launching
position. "I'll tell you where it is...when I get there!"
Instead of going forward, he launches himself sideways and
upwards, spinning through the air. "Have fun keeping up when
you have to carry all those bits! Hahaha!" he calls to her,
flapping his way upward above the ground drafts towards the
square.

Nivalia giggles as the others race off, "Silver, it's down that
way!" She points to the south and continues down that way in a
more causal trot. She may be able to afford such expenses, but
to be honest, she forgot it at home. As for Fox, he's merely
prepared for any... impulse buys either may have at their
destination.
The festival itself is quite a display, participants easily
numbering in a couple hundred. Stalls, stands, performances and
food are abundant throughout. There seems to a theme though;
bouquets and decorated cakes are prominent, as well as a decent
guard presence. Despite the amount of security, many of them
seem to be there to have a good time. With the starry night
above, the Plaza is illuminated by rows of paper lanterns. In
the far corner of the festivities, a little out of the way, a
different scene is set up. A memorial wall, with names,
pictures, flowers, and trinkets adorning the whole thing.

“HEY!” Sage called out as Schwambart flew off. She raced after
him as quickly as she could, but she wasn’t a very fast runner
to begin with. The pegasus clearly reached the festival first,
and Sage slowed, squinting up at him. “Unfair advantage,” she
grumbled. “But fine, you won,” she called out. She was about to
add an undoubtedly sassy comment, but she quickly got caught up
in looking around. “Oh my, this is lovely!”
She suddenly looked down at her shadow. “Oh, alright…” Her horn
glowed briefly and Little Sage leapt to life, looking just as
excited as Sage as it hopped about. “Go have some fun,” Sage
told her shadow, and Little Sage darted off. Sage looked back up
and continued walking, as if she hadn’t done anything remotely
out of the ordinary.

Moonlight stepped out of the cafe with a full belly, it grew
darker since she first arrived. To her surprise there were a lot
more ponies than before, the small manageable crowd turned into
a more crowded one.
Instantly, she regretted stopping into the festival instead of
going straight home, she could have been eating on the train
where it would've been nice and empty. Looking at the mass of
ponies gathered she wondered why any pony would bother to endure
such conditions. Moonlight scoffed to herself while she headed
towards the main entrance.
Despite the huge turnout of ponies, she found solace in the
night sky. The stars gleamed and the moon was bright, looking at
sky made her almost at peace for the moment.
"Finally, I can't wait to go home." Moonlight sighed as the
entrance was within her sight, the only thing standing in
between them was the onslaught of ponies arriving.

Schwambart smirks and gives a sweeping landing and bow. "But of
course. But let it not be known that Schwambart is not gracious
in victory. You've lost the privilege of parting with your
money, so you may pick where we go first." He shrugs and
motions to the other two. "Unless Fixit or Lovelia here have a
better idea."

Fox and Niv finally catch up with the others, their casual trot
a lovely trip in it of itself. Despite the increased patrons in
the festival, it was certainly spacious enough to hold them all.
Foxtrot tightened the sling of his guitar to keep it from
snagging while his sister simply watched in awe at all the
decorations. What surprised her more were how many flowers and
bouquets surrounded them. And to her keen eye, she notices a
majority of them are from her shop; some orders she even filled
out earlier that day.
"My goodness," the changeling murmurs in fascination, "They've
made this place look so beautiful! The amaryllis, the tulips,
the roses, just the whole thing is amazing."
"Yea, the whole place looks good." The unicorn blankly replies,
his own mind set on the smells. Sure there was certainly a
refreshing floral fragrance in the air, but there was also the
scent of food. "Sage, you can pick the place. As long as the
food is fresh and the drinks are cold, I'm game for anything."
He stops to look around for any suggestions, not noticing
Nivalia still trotting away.
"Good, many of these are holding their optimal condition." She
keeps going, eyes traveling everywhere except forward. "With so
many around, I'm sure the colors will be dazzling with a
performance. Oh! And th-" In an instant, she collides with a
random mare. Unfortunately the impact is enough to knock both of
them over. Nivalia’s things drop to the floor as she shakes her
head back to reality. "Uh, oh! Oh I'm so sorry! I want looking
where I was going and..."

Sage tapped her hoof against her chin as she surveyed the many
stalls, and scanned the signs for any name she wasn’t familiar
with, not noticing Nivalia trotting off either. “How about..”
she squinted at a sign. “…’sushi’? It sounds exotic!” She
trotted over and looked at the menu. “I’ll have the cucumber and
apple roll, please!” She looked over at Shcwambart, ears going
back slightly. “Are you sure you’re alright with paying?” Her
own bag of bits was balanced rather precariously on her back.

One moment Moonlight was looking at the night sky, the next she
found herself colliding with another pony.
Moonlight's recently bought teas and other items fell out of her
satchel as it was tossed on the ground mid collision. "Great..."
she murmured to herself while hearing the unknown mares hurried
apologies.
Moonlight started to place the items back into her bag, "It's
okay, I should have been paying attention to where I was going."
It was true, but she still found herself peeved at the fact some
pony managed to stall her in any way. She realized however, that
she was going to miss the next train at this point.
"Right...well I'm going to get moving, I have a train that I'm
probably going to miss..." Moonlight took a deep breath and
moved on wards through the remaining areas of the festival.
