Foxtrot and Nivalia would notice Little Sage, who had previously
been on the wall, wander up the wall and away, though Sage
       didn’t seem to notice.
She nodded. “Nice to meet you, Foxtrot and Nivalia. That’s a
wonderful mindset. It’s just such a shame that other ponies can
view such- in my opinion- arbitrary things as unnerving or even
malicious. For example, many ponies seem to think that living
shadows are some… monsters that belong in the darkness.” Sage
smiled slightly. “But they forget, shadows can only exist where
there is light. I imagine that if shadows have fear, it’s the
same primal fear almost every pony has… fear of the dark.” She
suddenly seemed to catch herself. “Sorry, I tend to go on and on
       when it comes to shadows.”
Just then, Little Sage came back into view, galloping full-tilt
towards Sage. The unicorn caught sight of her shadow and slight
alarm passed over her gaze. “Excuse me a moment,” she told
Foxtrot and Nivalia as she concentrated and Little Sage attached
itself back onto the mare's hooves, becoming a mere shadow once
more. Sage closed her eyes, but one could see faint movement
under her eyelids, as if she was looking around rapidly.
When she opened her eyes, she looked slightly exasperated. “Come
on, Little Sage,” she muttered to her dormant shadow. “There’s
no need to act so frantic, I doubt he means any harm.” Sage
looked back to the other ponies, and in way of explanation,
quietly said, “i think we may have an eavesdropper…”
With that, she looked across the street, directly at a rooftop.
“You can come out now!” She called out, with a faint smile.

Talk, talk, talk...it all seems pretty harmless stuff, nothing
to be concerned about. Charming introduction, really, from
Nivalia. Schwambart smirks. Oh, that takes him back. His own
brother beat him by 3 minutes and never let him live it down.
       Jokingly, of course.
What's that shadow so alarmed abo- Schwambart traces its route
and its likely origin point. Well, could be him, could be
       something else. No need to...
Ah. Of course it's him, he thinks as he's called out. He rolls
his eyes. Not doing a fantastic job of silent watcher, are you?
Oh shut up, me. Well, last time he was called out like this,
he fled, to pretty good results. Kept him out of a pretty
intense fight that he watched from a safe distance. Should he
       this time...?
Ah, what the heck. He dropped by for the show, no harm in
staying longer. He checks that his bow is safely tucked away
out of sight and hops from the building, flipping his fogwoven
garments into one of his saddlebags. Under that he's wearing
some much less conspicuous clothing, like might be expected from
Canterlot's lower middle class. He comes back into focus as he
clears the roof and swoops into a light landing several feet
away. "Sorry, didn't mean to be rude, but I was a bit late to
the show and didn't know if I should drop in or not. Sorry."
He blinks and adjusts his glasses, bringing the others into
better focus. Maybe it was time for another appointment with
       the optometrist.

Nivalia watches the whole spectacle with some curiosity for both
Sage and the newcomer. The changeling regains from any inquiries
though, figuring such answers will present themselves in due
time. "Oh, that sucks. The show was awesome from start to
       finish!"
Foxtrot remains silent through the whole ordeal. Although his
expression is relaxed, something at the back of his mind keeps
nagging at him. Like a distant foggy memory he can't pin down.
Regardless, he brushes it off and looks over to Niv, "Indeed it
was. It's been the best part of our night thus far."

Sage’s small smile grew into a friendly grin as the pegasus
revealed himself. She blushed a little as Foxtrot and Nivalia
gave their opinions of the show, and walked over to the
newcomer, holding out her hoof. “The name’s Silver Sage, but
call me Sage. No need to apologize, I hope you at least saw
enough of the show to find it enjoyable!”

Schwambart squints at the offered hoof and takes it, giving it a
hearty shake. "Oh, the seeing wasn't the problem, I got the
entire thing from waaaaay up back there a ways." He motions
backwards with his head. "Couldn't hear a single word you were
saying though. The name's Schwambart, but you can call me
anything that sounds similar, I'll get it. Schumbert, Schemburg,
Shambler, whatever floats your goat. Unless you don't have a
       goat. Then it's just sad."

Nivalia nods in agreement with Schwambart, lifting her hoofs a
short distance apart, "That is sad. Especially if it could be a
lil baby goat. Oh! And you could put pajamas on them too! Daw,
they would be so cute!" She gives a hopeful sigh, gaze distant
       as she pictures her description.
"Anyways..." Foxtrot chimes in, "it's nice to meet you
Schwambart. I'm Foxtrot and this is my sister Nivalia."
"Charmed. Although hungry is a close second in terms of feelings
       right now."
"Niv, you ate like... 2 hours ago."
"And what a long two hours they've been. However..." A sly grin
appears on the changelings face. "I heard that a small festival
is being held in the town square. Nothing too fancy, but food
       carts are certainly expected."

Sage, who had let out a quiet, “aww…” at Nivalia’s description,
suddenly clapped her hooves together. “That’s a brilliant idea,
Nivalia! We should all go together! I don’t know anypony here,
as I just arrived in Canterlot today, and eating is much more
enjoyable when you have somepony to eat with. Plus, I never ate
dinner because of my nervousness, so I’m starving.” As if to
prove her point, her stomach let out a loud growl, and Sage
giggled. “And besides-“ she levitated the heavy bag of bits up.
“I’m going to have to spend this on something! Food’s on me!”
She looked around eagerly, hoping for agreement.

Moonlight trotted out of her favorite tea store gracefully
placing the newly bought tea boxes in her satchel. Usually she
wasn't one for travelling without planning beforehand, but she
was running dangerously low on her teas and this was the best
       shop around.
While making her way back to the train station she heard the
sounds of laughter in the distance. Down the road there seemed
to be some sort of festival happening. Bright lights surrounded
the beautiful plaza, Moonlight went against her instinct to
retreat home and decided to attend the festival instead.
She made her way to the entrance sighing to herself, "Okay,
Moonlight...just step out of your comfort bubble for a night,
gotta stop being such a worrier."

"Well, that's all well and good until you need to feed them. Do
you have any idea how much a goat eats? Anyway..." Schwambart
mumbles, kind of dropping his focus from the conversation, at
least until food is mentioned. "Well, I guess I can go along,
but you're going to have to convince me to let you pay for me."
He uses his wing to swat at his bit pouch, placed in prominent
view at the front of his right bag, where anyone getting into it
could be clearly seen. It jingles. "I don't carry this around
for show, you know." A lie, not that it really matters. "In
fact, if you didn't already say that, I would have."

Both Foxtrot and Nivalia remain silent as the exchange goes on.
They weren't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so either
offer was certainly appreciated. The changeling in particular
would cover desserts if any were requested. "Well, this sounds
like a plan, let's get trotting!" She heads out to the Plaza,
her brother simply nodding and following her as well. A slight
grumble could be heard, a sign that food was being more alluring
       by the second.
