Nivalia was speechless at Moonlights words. A few tears of
relief and joy feel from her eyes, knowing that at least one
pony was willing to help. But she had to focus; she silently
nods at Moonlights directions and follows her up the rope. Her
legs still trembled, and her head still hurt, but she could
manage. She had to thank the training she received some time ago
from that group that recruited her and her brother. Almost near
the top, Nivalia looks down to find something that sent a chill
down her spine. Sage was right there, and she looked... well,
Nivalia knew she had to get away from her as far and fast as
possible. Climbing back up, she catches up with Moonlight as
they finally reach the roof to find a very peculiar somepony
waiting for them. "Ok, now that we're up here uh..." She pauses,
eyeing up the stallion that assisted them. "Uh... h-hello.
Thanks for helping us out." The changeling scans the rooftops,
honing in on the general direction of her abode. "There, my
house should be right over there. About... 6, 7 blocks? We can't
take the streets so..." She stretches her wings, although she's
to weak to fly, gliding should be no problem, and thankfully the
effects of the repellant is starting to wear off, "We'll have
to go roof jumping. And we'll have to go now." The changeling
approaches the stallion and gives him a quick hug, "Bless you
sir! Please stay safe, I don't want you getting caught in the
middle of all of this." Letting go, Nivalia backs up and looks
towards the roof ahead of them, "Ready Moon?"

Sage grinned in satisfaction as she saw evidence against the
changeling presented. But her smile faded slightly as something
tickled the back of her mind. Wait a second... would the bug
have had the time to steal the jewelry? She... she didn't know.
She hadn't been there.
But it didn't matter. The anger, the hatred inside her, had to
go somewhere... And if that meant condemning the changeling
along the way... so be it.
Suddenly, some movement and faint light caught the corner of
Sage's vision, and she turned just in time so a changeling tail
disappear over the edge of a rooftop. "THERE!" Sage shrieked,
pointing. "THE BUG'S GETTING AWAY! SOMEPONY STOP IT!"
The mob turned towards her, and pegasus guards and civilians
alike immediately took off towards the rooftop.

Morgayne watched in satisfaction as the guards accepted the
jewelry. At a grey unicorn's yell, however, Morgayne's attention
turned towards a nearby rooftop, and she frowned slightly.
Perhaps it didn't matter if the changeling got away... But
Morgayne wanted to see this whole affair done with. She didn't
give chase, as she obviously couldn't fly, but she looked on
curiously, waiting to see what would happen.

As Moonlight reached the top of the roof she met eyes
with...well she wasn't sure what it was. Sure enough looked like
a pony but...different. I've seen everything today... She
sighed, not sure what to make of it. "Right...so thanks for the
help, but we really have to go."
She looked over at Nivalia who seemed a little better, but
obviously shaken. Moonlight listened as Nivalia announced her
plan of roof jumping. "I'm more agile than I look Nivalia, I can
keep up." I thrive at night, this should be easy. At that moment
she quickly turned her head at the sound of Sage's voice coming
from down below, obviously aware of their location. "THEY KNOW
WE'RE UP HERE! WE NEED TO GO!" Moonlight quickly tightened the
strap that held her bow to her back and started to run,
following Nivalia. She looked back to see Pegasi in the air
chasing after them. "NIVALIA, WE NEED TO MOVE FASTER! WE'RE
BEING CHASED!"
She ran and jumped as quickly as her hooves could move, hoping
they would make it out alive.

He started when the changeling embraced him, but once Sadowi
heard Moonlight address her he pulled the most comically sad
face he could muster, pulling down his torn lips and staring up
with what he imagined to be teary yearling eyes despite having
nothing of the sort. "Nivalia? You insult me. Am I that easy to
forget? No, I won't stop you. Why would I?"
Untying the line from the length of metal and rewinding it about
his hand, he took a long glance back at the ponies who renewed
their hunt, hot on their scent with some flying towards them and
about to arrive right now, and he pivoted on his hind legs and
swung back around to face the two. "Now, since we're still the
best of friends, 'there something you'd like me to do for you?
'sfar as I can tell, you run home and they'll just chase you to
it and wait outside."

Well, it looks like the valuables have been turned in to the
guards. They should be able to get them back to their elderly
owner, so the problem is now out of his hooves. Which means-
Sage's shout brings his attention to her, then to the nearby
rooftop, where...well. The changeling. And...now that he's far
enough away, he lifts his glasses from his face to get a better
look at it. No, his eyes weren't playing tricks on him back on
the rooftop. If that thing was a pony, it wasn't alive...or
it...well, not in the traditional sense, at least. And it's
helping the changeling, which doesn't do it any favors in
Schwambart's book. Even if it didn't attack him before when it
had the chance, he has to consider it an enemy.
Moonlight.
Why, Moonlight? She's helping as well. He guesses she is a...no.
With his head cleared, he thinks back to when she summoned that
bow. That's not something a changeling can do, which marks her
as...not a changeling, at least. Then why is she helping? A
conundrum that tears him up inside. He doesn't want to help the
changeling, and most certainly doesn't want to be seen helping
one. But if that mob catches them, they might be quite violent
not just with the changeling, but Moonlight, who they may very
well assume is one. And he most certainly is not going to open
fire on civilians or the guards. What a conundrum.
Well, if he doesn't do something now, he won't be able to do
anything later, so here goes nothing. The mob is closer to them
than he is, but he has the advantage of height. Setting his
glasses firmly back onto his nose, he dives, a blurry streak
against the sky rushing towards the roof, hoping that none of
the guards present are the ones that would be able to recognize
such a blur. On his way, he passes close by a couple of the
pegasi who'd gotten higher than the others, sending them into a
spin in his wake. He brakes a bit late, thumping into the roof
in such a way that he's definitely going to feel tomorrow. No
time for groaning, though, and he steps next to Moonlight and
Nivalia, starting to talk low and quick. "I can carry one of you
but only one of you if you want to get out of here I suggest we
move now, go, quickly!!"

It was a strange feeling, everything is going so fast, but
somehow the seconds feel like hours. They only jumped over a few
rooftops before coming across Schwambart. To her relief, he was
offering assistance, as was Sadowi; she mentally kicked herself
for not recognizing him at first, but with so much going on...
Regardless, she would apologize later. For now, they had to
escape. Staying together would be easier for the guards to track
them. With their current numbers, they'll have to split up. "We
need to scatter. Split up their attention as we escape. I'll go
with Schwambart. Sadowi, Moonlight, head out in different
directions. We'll all meet up at 248 Hoofshire Lane. Look for a
candle on the second floor, that's our sign that we're there."
She nears Schwambart to get ready, "Thank you Schwam, so much."
Things seem to be turning around, the changelings senses and
magic seem to be slowly recovering. It's not enough to use right
away, but certainly as a last resort of being cornered again.

Running. Running. More Running.
They ran for who knows how long. All Moonlight knows is that she
has never been more terrified and exhilarated in her entire
life. In the midst of the chase what looked like a blur appeared
next to them. "Sch-Schwambart?" Moonlight slowed down and did a
double take, she was sure he had left before.
Within seconds a quick and not very thought out plan came into
place. Moonlight quickly replied in a hushed tone, "Split up,
okay that will definitely not go well. But we don't have much of
a choice. I'll meet you all there...hopefully. Stay safe
Nivalia." She looked at Schwambart, confused on his decision to
come help them. "Thank you...for coming back."
Moments later they all dispersed, taking off in opposite
directions. She jumped off the roof onto a lower building, then
falling into a nearby street. Moonlight continued to run,
looking behind her. A couple of pegasus civilians were still
chasing her, she still managed to stay ahead but heard faint
yells of 'Catch the accomplice!' Moonlight turned a sharp left
heading towards the rendezvous point into a very dark alley.
Think I lost them... She slowed her pace until she heard the
sound of hoof steps coming in her direction. Picking up her pace
she started to run again, the alley was too dark for her but she
didn't want to risk any pony seeing a light come from her horn.
Nearing the end of the alley she missed her step falling onto
shards of broken glass.
She let out a loud groan, "Oh no..." Moonlight staggered up
looking at her front right leg, a shard of glass sticking out of
it. She turned around to see a figure in the alley with her, but
couldn't make out who it was. Moonlight turned her attention
towards her leg, blood now running down it. As quick as she
could Moonlight pulled out the shard and tried to continue to
run. So...much...pain. She staggered once again, ignoring the
blood that she was losing. Moonlight continued to limp towards
the street, only a block or so away from her destination.
I'm...gonna do this... Determined, Moonlight kept going. She was
moving slow though, whoever was behind her has gotten really
close; watching her struggle but not intervening.
Moonlight stopped in her tracks, tired of being prey to whoever
was stalking her. As fast as she could muster, she turned around
and drew her bow and nocked an arrow, blood seeping down onto
the ground below her. "Come out of the shadows, I know you're
there." Moonlight bravely watched as the figure approached her.

A curt nod and an unsettingly determined light glimmered in his
eyes. "Glad to have you with us again, Schwam, and you got it:
split up. I'll see y'all in a bit."
Sadowi scampered down the walls and landed in the middle of the
road, right beside the riled bunch, and clashed his swords
together in a horrendous series of screeches. "Hey hey! What's
the matter with your heads? They slow or dead?
"That's right," he whispered, sheathing his weapons. "Take a
look and scream; protect your mares and hide your children, for
the undead have risen and thirst for your blood."
His mouth twisted into a sneer and a hoof tousled his tied mane.
"But there's only one of them, right? What hope could I possibly
have against all of you? Do you still want to put me back into
the dirt? Well, catch me if you can!"
Swivelling on his hind legs, like before, he promptly turned
tail and ran, merry and off key singing in his wake. He pranced
up and down sidewalks and porches and kicked over anything he
could, trash cans, relay mail boxes, crates and barrels, to trip
up or slow his assailants. Clatters and crashes sounded as
containers collided and collapsed, followed by softer shuffles
of spilled contents swarming the street. His ears folded back to
check whether they stuck to his heels as he hoped his taunts
would cause. Giddy with excitement, he stretched out his legs
and hopped and slowed slightly and kept himself just
tantalisingly out of reach, hooves clicking the patterned gait
against the packed stones as he raced.
"Run run run! Catch me if you can!" he boasted. "I've beaten
sharks! I've beaten seals! I'll beat you too! You can't catch
me! I'm ... uhm, well, I'm...,
"Is that all? Y'all tired already?" he jabbed. "Your butts made
of lead? Is this the best Equestria's finest has to offer?
"Ohh, I know what you're thinking, 'What's so scary about you;
you're running away!' Well, how about you guys, ya slowpoke
idiot little ponies? I'm running, you are giving up!"

"248 Hoofshire. Got it." He looks back at the mob. He could
probably outfly most or all of them without a burden, but with
the changeling, that might prove more difficult with just his
wing power. So he'd have to use that and his hooves. Ugh. That
means, to leave his hooves free, it will have to be on his back.
Well, too late to back out now. He has a schedule to keep. "Go
ahead, hop on, let's go," he barks impatiently, stooping low to
allow the...thing...onto his back with minimal difficulty. "And
use this to staunch the bleeding, it'll make it harder for them
to follow." He hoofs a kerchief to it.
"Right, so hold on tight, this is going to get bumpy." Once it's
secure on his back, he takes off, galloping to the high point of
the current roof and springing into the air with a beat of his
wings. Though running and jumping aren't exactly the activities
that he's used to build his strength, they certainly do benefit
from what he does have. Being a mail pony, he also has a good
deal of endurance to use, and a good knowledge of the city's
layout from his time having to work with it. Both his jobs are
benefiting him tonight. Score!
He leaps from rooftop to rooftop, using his legs to gain height
and using the resulting height to enable dives to accelerate,
moving at a pretty good clip. They travel in a straight line at
an angle from their goal. He studiously avoids talking or making
any conversation with the thing on his back, trying hard to
ignore just what it is. On the way, he can't help thinking that
it would be quite easy to just...drop the changeling off...leave
it to the mercy of the mob...but no, he said he'd help, he'll
help. For who knows what reason.
By the time they're within a few blocks of their destination,
they've left the crowd a good ways behind and he's quite worn
out, his banged up hooves and legs communicating their
displeasure quite strongly to him. Now to ensure that all the
work of gaining distance doesn't go to waste, he drops down
below the roof-line into the alleys and streets before turning
in the direction of the address. All by wing, to minimize the
noise they make and the chance that anypony still up would hear
them, hanging to the sides of buildings before crossing any of
the streets so he can peek around the corners and make sure the
coast is clear. He could move through with little fear of being
seen or identified, but his clothes are definitely not big
enough to conceal both of them. Taking those precautions, he
makes the rest of the way more slowly and carefully.
