       Stories of EQUINOX

"They push - we push. Every once in a while, we push hard enough
that the light breaks through the clouds, so that the world
beyond the war glimmers, just out of reach. The war is the
world, and the world is the war. But behind every gunsight is a
human being. We are those people. We are the jaded, and we are
the naive. We are the honorable, and the criminal. We are the
bound-for-legend, and we are the lost-to-history. We are the
knights of the sky, the ghosts of the desert, and the rats in
the mud. These are our stories. - Unknown Soldier, Storm of
       Steel mission, Battlefield 1

A wise pony once said "Each of you is the star of your own
story." Years from now, when ponies will one way or another know
about EQUINOX, I hope that they know not just a select few
famous figures, but they know the stories of each EQUINOX
soldier that had served. These are our stories.
       [hr]
       Story 1: The Reapers
On any other day, the 10 hangers in Montanha Citadel would be
filled with activity, soldiers coming and leaving on transports
to different places, more often than not for missions, while
engineers would be busy at work fixing up any vehicles. But with
EQUINOX missions and operations being temporarily stopped to
allow the government to do what they need to keep EQUINOX's
identity a secret, there was not much else to do. A few vehicles
needed repairing but not much else. As such, many of the workers
in the hangers had little to do. If only the same can be said
for EQUINOX's 18th Engineer Company, Canterlot Division, who
were one of they few groups of Engineers doing work.
Some members of the 18th Engineer Company were hard at work,
repairing a damaged Blackhawk that came in not too long ago.
Nearby a radio is seated on a crate, playing "Ain't No Mountain
High Enough". "Hey Rivet, pass me a wrench!" one pony under the
helicopter calls out. "Huh? Oh uh, one sec." Rivet says, an
earth pony with a brown coat and steel grey mane, snapping back
into the moment, too distracted by the music. "Wrong wrench
Rivet. If you were paying attention, we'd be finished with this
already." the pony underneath calls out, wheeling out from under
the helicopter. This was a pegasus with a purple coat and dark
brown mane. "Sorry Wrecker. Its just my favorite song. I used to
listen to it as a filly." Rivet says as she passes the correct
wrench to Wrecker. "Yeah, I know. Just be more attentive while
on duty. You don't want the Captain getting mad would
you?"Wrecker says as he looks up. "No sir." Rivet responds.
Suddenly, the sounds of helicopters can be heard, 5 of them
coming into the hanger. These weren't EQUINOX Blackhawks
however, as EQUINOX activity was limited. It instead bore the
insignia of the 141st SCO Battalion, "The Reapers". "Look alive
engineers! We got a job to do!" a pegasus with a white coat and
silver mane calls out to the others, Captain Vulcan of the 18th
Engineer Company calls out to the other engineers. The few
engineers who were doing work looked up and continued to do work
on their respective vehicles, whereas the engineers not doing
anything were spurred into action, getting ready to bring the
Blackhawks into the repair stations for work. One by one,
soldiers wearing armour similar to EQUINOX armour, albeit black
and navy blue in colour and wearing the 141st patches as opposed
to the standard grey and orange coloration and EQUINOX patches,
all step out of their helicopters, not saying anything and
making their way towards the exit. "Oh wow, its the Reapers, the
real deal." Wrecker mutters underneath his breath. "Wait, who?
The Reapers? Who are they?" Rivet asks, clearly confused. "The
Reapers are the best of EQUINOX, if you must know." a voice
behind them says. Both Rivet and Wrecker turn around to see
Vulcan approaching them. "While we lie low until we're cleared
to resume operations, they hunt down criminals who know us. No
doubt they were on one such mission." he says. "So, you know
them?" Rivet asks, now curious. "Everyone's heard stories about
what they've done since they were formed by the Boss a few weeks
ago." Vulcan replies. "What kind of stories sir?" Wrecker asks,
also curious. "Well, if you're interested, let me tell you."
Vulcan says, the three sitting down as they prepare to listen.
