Tinder opens her eyes as he speaks, chuckling a little and
glancing over at him, "It's alright, still trying to get used to
the whole having a real job thing. I think Niv knows more about
me then she is supposed to though." She lets out a little sigh
and adjusts to get comfy, "By the way, how's the burn healing?
Still hurt?"

"Meh, on occasion." Ebony shrugs, taking a glance at his injury.
"Nivalia gave me some burn ointment for it so I should be set.
As for Niv herself, she uh... does have a tendency to know more
things than she should. But she acts on good faith, so I doubt
she'll use whatever information against you. Actually..." The
captain gets comfortable as well. "I spoke to her a couple of
days ago. She was very excited about having you help around as
well as this contact she made with Broadshield and Equinox.
However..." He looks around and swivels his ears, making sure no
one is around to hear him. Ebony then whispers, "I heard from a
reliable source that Equinox is downsizing their numbers and
operations by a considerable amount. I don't know how much, how
long it'll take our how long it'll last but she started freaking
out."

Tinder frowns a bit as she hears this, still feeling pretty
responsible for him getting hurt. "If you ever need something to
take an edge of the pain just ask me. I'm willing to share a few
to a friend." She yawns a little and closes her eyes again,
thinking about Equinox and Broad, "I haven't even seen any of
them since that day, I'm surprised they are downsizing though,
they seemed to need the people before. But I'm sure their
contract with Niv will stay just as big, no matter how much they
downsize they will still need a ridiculous amount of medical
supplies. They don't seem like a careful group."

In the middle of their conversation, they would soon hear the
sound of helicopter blades. The sound would grow louder and
louder as the helicopter grew closer. Eventually, they would see
one Blackhawk helicopter approaching over the treeline, marked
with the familiar EQUINOX insignia. Soon enough the helicopter
lands in the clearing, the blades still spinning.
Soon the doors to the helicopter open up. First out are two
EQUINOX soldiers, armed and scanning the clearing for anyone.
Seeing Tinder and Ebony, they lower their weapons, and knock on
the door. A third pony then comes out. An earth pony with a
light brown coat and a blonde mane, wearing sunglasses and a
distinctive orange beret. "Good morning to you both." he says,
walking up to the two, the two soldiers flanking him. Extending
his hoof to the two he says "I understand that time is of the
essence so I'll make this quick. My name is Almund Szar,
EQUINOX's Equestrian Regional Commander. I coordinate all
EQUINOX operations here in Equestria, although I have had a lot
more time on my hands recently since a recent crackdown. Because
of that, EQUINOX will not be assisting you on this mission
today. All we can do is make sure there are no interferences
from the public." he says as vehicles such as HUMVEEs, Strikers
and other trucks are heard, some stopped at the entrance to the
forest, others make their way into the clearing. In both places,
EQUINOX soldiers are setting up an FOB and various defenses,
keeping anyone and anything out.
"However, you will instead be assisted by others. For many
reasons I will not be giving you the identity of this group, but
they will help." he says. Just as he says that, several more
Blackhawk helicopters can be heard coming into the clearing.
This time, they are all jet black, and bearing a different
insignia. As each helicopter lands, more soldiers come out. Each
wearing armour similar to EQUINOX soldiers, but jet black
instead of grey, and navy blue instead of orange. One such
soldier however was not wearing her helmet like the others. She
had a dark blue coat and a brown mane. Leaving her fellow
soldiers, she approached Tinder, Ebony and Szar. "This is Col.
Navy Thief, callsign "Rogue" former soldier of EQUINOX, member
of the Commander's Guard, and now Commanding Officer to... her
new unit." he says, before Rogue steps up. "Thank you Szar. As
he said, we'll be helping you on this mission. If I am correct,
we are to escort you and whoever you bring to the Castle of the
Two Sisters, while our EQUINOX brothers and sisters will be
ensuring that there are no... unnecessary intrusions?" she asks.
"Uh, how about, Ebony, you brief Rogue and her soldier about the
plan in more detail, I'd like a few moments alone with Ms.
Tinder here, if that's alright." Szar says, looking over to all
three of them before hoofing a sizable pouch and waiting for a
response.

Ebony shakes Szar's hoof and listens on as he hears the
situation. Well, the downsizing was confirmed, but he knew the
quality of work would remain the same. After listening to Rogue
speak, he nods over to Tinder before briefing his back up about
the situation. "Alright, Rogue, the situation is simple. We make
our way to the castle and utilize the main chamber as a starting
point. With the map Luna supplied we should be able to find the
section of the archives that contain the book were looking for.
A text by Starswirl the Bearded. After that we take the path we
took to get there. Any questions?"

Tinder looks around as she hears the vehicals approaching,
standing up quickly and moving away from the people that have
entered the clearing. She knows her record is clean, but she's
still afraid, that is a fear that may never leave her. She was
hoping Broad would be here, someone she knew and trusted, she is
frightened of this different person. As he says her name she
backs up a bit more, wanting to just run away from the
situation. Taking all her courage to stay where she is, nodding
a couple times and mumbling a simple, "yes sir."

Szar watches as Ebony goes off with Rogue to talk plans, before
turning back to Tinder. "No need to be nervous around me, the
Commander thinks very highly of you after what happened in
Manehatten." he starts off with before continuing. "You don't
need to hide anything from me, I'm already aware of your
previous history, and how its all been erased, like Broadshield
promised before the Manehatten incident, anyway," he says,
pausing to give Tinder the pouch. Its a bit heavier than usual,
since its filled with bits. Roughly 100,000 bits to be exact.
"This is for you. Since the crackdown, the government has been
doing all that it can to make sure we don't have any security
issues in relation to EQUINOX. We give citizens who know enough
bits to keep them well off, and swear them into secrecy, while
criminals, gang members, and ponies who break their vow of
silence are... well... killed, to put it bluntly." he says.
"With that, I need you to swear that you will not speak
EQUINOX's name, anyone you know in there, or make any indication
of their existence to anyone, and I mean anyone. Can you do
that?" he asks, staring at Tinder and waiting for an answer.

As Rogue and Ebony go off to talk plans, many of Rogue's
soldiers follow them, also listening to the plan. When Ebony
finishes explaining the plan, Rogue says "Sounds simple enough.
An escort and a search and retrieve mission. In the even that
someone or something comes and EQUINOX isn't able to catch them,
we'll defend you, Tinder, and whoever else you're bringing,
which I can only assume is members of the Lunar Guard, correct?"
she asks.

Tinder takes another step back away from him, though he says not
to be nervous she can't help but have an off feeling about this
guy. Her fear clearly showing in her eyes as he speaks, ponies
are being killed for this, it doesn't seem right to her. She
shakes her head a few times and steps back again, trying to put
more distance between them as the levitates the pouch back to
him. She takes a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm before
speaking, "No, I can't take this. I can't promise anything of
the sort. They are always watching, they won't be happy if they
see me take this. Ponies shouldn't have to die to keep this
secret, I won't take the offer."

"Yeah, that pretty much sums it up," Ebony nods. He reaches into
his armor and pulls out two of the enchanted strips. "Here,
apply this to your weapon and give the second one to your
teammate with the best shot. It allows you to fire your rounds
with a cryogenic encasing. It's effective against what we may
run into."
