Lina had come to a… painful decision.
She gritted her teeth. “I would advise you against telling me
what to do,” she snapped, her voice full of venom. She stood up,
leaning across the table. “Oh, I’ll go. I just hope you know how
insanely lucky you two are.” With that, she turned and started
to walk away. Before she went out the door however, she paused,
glancing over her shoulder with an unreadable expression. “Let’s
hope that that luck doesn’t run out, hm?” Then she left to join
Lima.
As she approached the other pegasus, Lima would find her looking
positively insane, or sick... or both. Her breath came out in
short gasps, and she physically shook from anger.

Lima didn't even have to look at the pegasus to feel the vibes
she's emitting. She couldn't blame her, heck, she wanted to
strangle the feathers off them herself. But what's done is done.
Now, they have the others to look forward to. The mare snaps out
of her stupor when a guard approaches her with a note. Taking
it, she opens it to find the coordinates as well as a time-frame
of 30 minutes. "I guess Samiel had to clarify how much time we
get with this." Looking up to the nearest clock, it would
already be too late to get to the hangar. For now they'd have to
bunk for the night. Lima turns to Lina, though she couldn't look
at her directly. "Let's get going. There's a place I know where
we can stay that's not too far from here."

Lina was broken out of daydreams of the griffins’ blood smeared
over her hooves by Lima’s voice. She fixed the green-maned mare
with a hate-filled glare that wasn’t really intended for Lima,
but Lina couldn’t seem to arrange her face in any other way at
the moment. “Fine,” was all she said, her voice shaking a
little, causing the glare to deepen, this time in reaction to
showing her own weakness.

The walk to the nearest inn was a quiet one; the sun itself had
just gone down the horizon and the city lights are the only
illumination. 'Diamond in the Rough'. A sign dimly lit
overlooking a pair of large, widen double doors. Not a five star
establishment, but certainly much better than either of he two
mare's worst experiences on the subject. Lima, now calmed down
from before, places her hoof on one of the doors. "I uh... I
know the guy here. My group had a safehouse here. Hopefully it
wasn't raided." She takes a deep breath and enters, keeping the
door open for Lina to enter. Both would find it surprisingly
empty. A couple of booths filed with patrons, as well as a few
more at the bar. Behind it was a burlesque griffon, cleaning a
glass and wiping the counter. His deep orange coat is only
matched by his amethyst eyes. Looking up, he gets them with a
warm smile. As if meeting old friends once again.

Lina’s head was low as they walked, and she scowled at the
ground. She had finally had her first chance to avenge her
parents, to pay back the scum that had killed them… and she had
failed. She had spent years preparing for this, and yet she had
slipped up. Her friend would be so ashamed…
Her head lifted a little. Yes, he would be ashamed. Ashamed that
his student was wallowing in self-pity when she should be
planning for the future instead looking back at the past. Lina
just needed a new plan. That was all.
The pegasus was significantly more determined by the time they
reached the inn. She followed Lima in, swiftly looking around
and noting her environment, as well as the other patrons. Seeing
the griffin’s friendly smile, Lina’s gaze instantly turned
distrustful before she reminded herself that he worked at the
inn, of course he was going to be friendly.

"Briggs! Wipe that smug look off your face." Lima chuckles as
she approaches the counter. "How's it been you old salt?"
The griffon's hearty laugh compliments his deep tone. "I'm alive
if that's what your asking. Good to see you in the same shape
too. Didn't look so hot last time."
Sitting at the nearest available stool, the mare takes a deep
breath. "Didn't feel so hot either." She nods over to Lina,
"That's my associate. Don't puts her off or she'll eat your
heart."
Briggs pulls up two glasses, pouring one and sliding it over to
the agent. "Judging by the history of your past company, I'd
believe that." His eyes lift to the pegasus in question. "Come
'ave a seat lass. First round is on the house."

Lina rolled her eyes at Lima’s comment, and at being addressed,
eyed the griffon warily. Finally, she strode over and sat by
Lima, studying the bottle the griffon had poured from. She bit
back the obvious questions of what it was. Truth was, Lina had
never had alcohol in her life. She remembered her parents
occasionally having wine, before the crash, but they had never
allowed Lina to have any. And she certainly had not had access
to a drink in her isolated hideout all the years after. So Lina
just stared at the bottle, estimating the odds of it being
filled with poison.

Am awkward silence grips the air as Lima and Briggs wait for
Lina to reply. The griffon then leans over to the agent and
whispers; though at the volume he's speaking, anyone close
enough can hear him. "Uh, Lima. Is your friend here old enough
to drink."
"Uh... damn, I don't know actually," the mare shrugs.
"Well I can't serve minors alcohol here."
Lima leans forward, scooting the bottle away from Lina, "Then
get something else."
Briggs winks to Lima, "Way ahead of ya." The Bartender turns
around to the mini fridge behind him. After a moment he returns
with a juice box. It features a smiling orange holding hands
with a happy flower. To top it all off, a bendy straw is poked
in before the box is gently placed in front of Lina, "There ya
go, lass. Gotta get your vitamin C in as much as possible." Lima
just turns away. A poor attempt to hide the stupid grin on her
face from the sight of a stern mare next to something like that.

Lina’s gaze quickly grew annoyed as she heard the exchange. How
young did she look? As the juice box was placed in front of her,
Lina had the very juvenile urge to throw it in the griffon’s
face. Instead, she inhaled deeply before speaking. “I’m twenty
three. Thanks for asking me directly, it was very courteous of
you,” she said sarcastically. She turned to Lima and gave her a
glare before she leaned forward and snatched the bottle away.
Pulling up the empty glass, she poured herself a generous
helping.

Briggs and Lima were rather surprised. First that Lina was as
old as she said, and second at the considerable amount of drink
she poured herself. "Uh, lass. I think that might be-"
"The perfect amount." Lima cuts in, moving the juice box a
smidgen closer to the mare. "I will say you may need this right
after." Once Lina was done, she lifted her glass to her.
"Cheers! To my good buddy Lina! For putting us in our place!"
She was looking forward to her drink actually; Briggs' signature
Ryncol kicks like a mule, but has a surprisingly smooth cherry
aftertaste. But for the pegasus in front of her, she's up for a
rude awakening.
