Fluttershy lightened up when she saw the wolf step back but was
in complete tears when the bullets began striking the wolf.
"Stop shooting at it you are making things worse!" She cried out
before landing between the wolf and Ranger. "I promise we aren't
going to hurt you anymore. You need to please calm down and
tell me what's wrong. Just be calm and explain to Fluttershy
what upset you and I promise I can help you." After taking a
breath she slowly paced towards it, but in the back of her mind
she could take off to get out of the way.

Well, this was a strange Mexican stand-off huh? Fluttershy
between a timberwolf on a rampage, who has most likely called
for its pals, and Ranger, a rifle toting, somewhat lazy but
dedicated member of Equinox, who was pointing a gun at said
timberwolf. "Ma'am, I need you to move right now! That thing is
not safe! It's attacked once, it will attack again! Your safety
is not something I can risk losing, so please! Just back away,
and let us handle this!" Ranger yells to Fluttershy, still
aiming his ACR at the wolf.
Tracker on the other hand watched all this unfold, his own ACR
strapped behind him, basic medical equipment in hand. "Ma'am, I
need you to sit down, you're losing blood and you need to rest."
he says as the mare gets up. Upon her starting to frantically
search for... something, he says, "What are you doing? You need
to rest, and stay still while I patch up these wounds. You're
not going to have luck with finding it if you drop dead from
blood loss." he says. Trying to give medical attention to a
frantic, hyperventilating pony was not easy, as he discovered.

At first, Fluttershy’s tactic seemed to work. The timber wolf
seemed to calm down a bit, lowering its head so it was near the
yellow pegasus’s and whining. However, there was a sly glint in
its eye as it did. Almost as if it was… stalling.
Dakota’s movements got more frantic, and she turned around and
started back in Tracker’s direction, desperately scanning the
ground in case she had missed her flute the first time over. “My
flute! I have to find it! I can calm the wolf down again, I know
it. I just need to-“ She looked up, her eyes widening. “LOOK
       OUT!” she shrieked at Ranger.
Coming up behind was another timber wolf, even larger than the
first, who had been summoned by its brother’s howl. Just as
Dakota yelled, the wolf aimed a swipe directly at Ranger. The
first timber wolf, losing all signs of docility, aimed a snap
precariously close to Fluttershy. Dakota raced over to Tracker,
still swaying a bit. “ Go help them… hurry! I’ll be fine.”

Ranger begins to lower his guard as the timberwolf seemingly
stands down from Fluttershy. "Huh, looks like it wo-" she
manages to say before seeing the larger timberwolf leaping at
her. 'Oh fuck me!' he thinks as the sharp, wooden claws slash
across his body, leaving several deep slashes, and sending him
flying into a nearby tree. Thankfully he still had his
helmet/balaclava, otherwise he would've been knocked out.
Instead, he manages to shakily get up with his weapon, albeit
shakily. "Oh come on! JUST DIE ALREADY!" he yells, firing at the
larger timberwolf, some shots hitting the timberwolf, but as
effective compared to firing at the normal timberwolves.
Speaking of which, several howls pierced the forest, indicating
       that more were coming.
Tracker turns to Dakota as she approaches him. "B-but, ARGHH!"
he yells, frustrated at the situation, firing at the timberwolf
closest to Fluttershy. "Miss! Get out of here right now!" he
yells at Fluttershy. 'We're gonna die here aren't we?' he thinks
       to himself.
Soon, he hears the familiar hoofsteps of more EQUINOX soldiers
arriving on the scene. But right as they arrive, around half a
dozen more timberwolves emerge in the clearing. 8 timberwolves,
one of which is larger than the others, verses around 20 EQUINOX
soldiers. The newcomers facing off against each other, ready to
       fight.

Dakota looked on with horror as the situation unfolded. That
horror only deepened when she realized something.
       This was her fault.
If only she had keep playing, kept that first timber wolf
asleep. But she hadn’t, and now, how many deaths would she be
responsible for? A sob rose up in her throat. Suddenly, one of
the smaller wolves dodged a few shots and headed towards the
teal mare. She stepped back, and her hind hoof hit something.
She looked over her shoulder to see her unharmed flute sitting
on the ground. Her eyes darted between the flute and the wolf,
before she abruptly dove for it. Scooping it up, she readied
herself to play. She could still repair the situation… she had
       to.
She started playing the same melody as before, but this time, it
sounded vastly different. She played it more quietly, so it
would only affect the wolf and not the soldiers, but that wasn’t
what was different. The pain Dakota felt at causing all this
leaked into the music, making it sound heartbroken. Making it
sound so sad that it was almost painful. The timber wolf
immediately went down, but it didn’t fall asleep. Instead, it
clawed at its ears as it howled in agony. By the time Dakota
realized that her music was actually causing pain, it was too
late. The light faded from the wolf’s eyes, and it went limp.
Dakota’s eyes widened and she dropped her flute. “Wha… No. No!”
She rushed over to the corpse and gently touched it’s face.
Her music had killed. Her music had killed. Dakota let out an
agonized, high-pitched wail, and slumped against the dead wolf
as she sobbed. Her music was supposed to uplift, soothe,
       brighten… not this. Never this.

The yellow pegasus flew up further before seeing what happened
with the flute and darted back down. Fluttershy was crying as
well when she landed next to the limp wolf. As upset as she was
seeing another animal die right in front of her, she had to help
the pony She put her hoof around Dakota though. “It’s
o-o-okay….. I… think we should go… Please… We are both in
       danger.”

Meanwhile, the clearing has devolved into chaos. EQUINOX
soldiers and the timberwolves and their Alpha, both sides
fighting a desperate battle of survival. Each side, their forces
are going down. EQUINOX soldiers either getting injured,
possibly killed by the timberwolves, the wooden body of
timberwolves breaking off, or being completely destroyed.
       "WE NEED BACK UP!"
       "I NEED A MEDIC!"
"This is Bandit 1-4, we need help assistance! Requesting
additional backup!" the voices of EQUINOX soldiers shouting over
each other, yelling into radios, over the echoing sound of
       gunfire all around.
Meanwhile, Tracker stumbles his way to Dakota and Fluttershy,
blood seeping from an open wound on his side, but looking
somewhat fine. "This place isn't safe you two. We've set up a
base due east from here, around 500 meters away. Get over there,
and call for help! We'll hold them off, so go!" he yells over
the gunfire before charging back into the fray.

/>In a brief instant, Azure and Sergeant Trail Blazer appear in
       a
flash of light near the edge of the clearing. It was absolute
mayhem... The sounds of roars and gunfire were nearly deafening.
Shouts and cries for help seem to come from every angle, their
voices clamoring over the whirlwind of noise that threaten to
choke them out. Soldiers and beasts alike lay scattered over the
clearing, broken, beaten, and bleeding. Many lay slumped up
against the nearby trees, emptying magazine after magazine in a
desperate attempt to stay alive and fight back. The Timberwolves
howl ferociously into the night, crying out for reinforcements
of their own, or perhaps even pain as some of them get blasted
into splinters and dust. Both parties were fighting in a
desperate attempt for their own survival, and as ammunition
started to run low, the Timberwolves move in to stalk their
       prey.
One Timberwolf in particular, heavy set and fair bit larger than
its brethren, towers over the others as it simply bats and swats
anypony who dared to get within range of its massive paws. The
Alpha, most certainly... Azure could almost see its corrupted,
magical aura, faintly tied with the other Timberwolves,
commanding them like puppets on a string. When one falls, the
Alpha would consume the magical string, amplifying its own power
before reaching out to one of its fallen, slowly but surely
rebuilding it back to perfection. Back to the fight. It was a
slow, losing battle, and the only way to come out victorious was
       to slay the Alpha...
Two Pegasi catch the corner of her eye, almost hidden behind a
large tree. The pine-green one was limp, slumped over the body
of a Timberwolf... A very dangerous place to be, all things
considered. The yellow one looked as if she was trying to pull
her up. Definitely the civilians. She didn't see any more, but
the whirlwind of chaos made it extremely difficult to tell.
Another Timberwolf springs to life, attacking the nearest group
of soldiers before being mowed right back down into submission.
Azure seethes to herself... How did all of this happen? And how
did it devolve into this? A literal war, just right outside of
the town across the edge of the forest? If the Sergeant's forces
were to fall, nothing would stop the Timberwolves from marching
through town in their madness... She needs to bring an end to
       this, and quick.
Steeling her nerves, Azure glances over towards Trail Blazer.
"Like I said, keep the small ones distracted. I just need a few
seconds to end all of this with one good shot." Before the
Sergeant has a chance to reply, Azure takes flight, barreling
       straight towards the Alpha.

Dakota just continued sobbing, shaking her head at Fluttershy’s
urging. As Tracker came over and gave them instructions, Dakota
cried for a few more moments before she slowly pulled herself to
her hooves. She sniffed. “What would Ina* and Ate** say?” she
choked out. Then she slowly lifted to her head, sobs fading into
silence. “They would say… they would say not to run. Not to give
up.” She looked down at the timber wolf, still motionless. It
was one thing to be blasted apart by a rifle, it was quite
another to be killed by a rare brand of magic. This wolf wasn’t
coming back any time soon, commanded by an Alpha or not.
“If my music can… k-kill…” She said slowly, stuttering a little
over the last word. “Then whose to say it can’t do the
opposite?” She turned to Fluttershy. “You go to the base. I’m
losing blood so quickly, that I probably wouldn’t make it there
without passing out anyway,” she said, starting to feel more
than a little lightheaded. “But I have to stay. I have to fix
this.” Regardless if Fluttershy listened to her or not, Dakota
made her way over to where she had dropped her flute and picked
       it up.
Standing right in front of the prone wolf, she started playing a
lively, energetic tune, ignoring her wooziness. She played
loudly and clearly, the music drifting over the battlefield.
Soldiers would feel their energy increasing, ones who had fallen
suddenly feeling like they had the strength to get back up.
Unfortunately, so did the timber wolves, and the frenzied chaos
merely increased as the dead timber wolf remained still.
