Another 1/2 inch has accumulated as of 10 AM; storm total 1.6".
Snowing lightly @ 10:08 AM...temp 15.4 F.

Picked up 3/10ths of inch of new snow Sunday night into Monday
morning.
Monthly Total: 15.9"
Seasonal Total: 49.0"
-6.5 F @ 6:48 AM this Monday morning.

Picked up another 1/10th of an inch of new snow in the wee hours
of Tuesday morning.
Monthly Total: 16.0"
Seasonal Total: 49.1"
Quite a temp contrast across the Black Hills this morning; 12
miles to my west temps are in the mid-30's; while I am stuck at
-2.7 F @ 8:11 AM.
It is going to be close; to see if that warmer air can work in
here for a few hours today...

@ 11:11 AM; the temp has warmed to 11.1 F or an increase of
13.8 F in 3 hours time.

15.3 F @ 1:41 PM....we have chances of light snow tonight
(Tuesday); then again on Wednesday evening...and once more on
Thursday night...the last day of the month.
Need just 9/10ths of an inch to get to 50" even before we close
the books on February...I think we have a good sporting chance!
Amazing how much of our snow has fallen during the evening
hours; and yes, I know it is far more often dark in the winter
than light...but still an inordinate amount...and just the
opposite of last year at my other location on the low hill west
of Rapid City...where almost all of the snow seemed to fall
during the daylight hours.
Quite unusual.
Although we never made it into the mild air to the west today;
it as even worse down the mountain towards Rapid City; where
they maxed out around 6 F.
After this winter (and February in particular)...15 F feels like
bathwater...and this is no exaggeration.
Last year; I remember it was snowing in March & April with temps
in the upper 20's and low 30's...I would go outside...and it
genuinely felt like spring!
As I always say; it is all relative.

We picked up 1.0" new snow on Wednesday evening to just after
midnight on Thursday morning...@ 12:15 AM the measurement was
taken and the board was cleared.
It snowed very, very nicely at several junctures Wednesday
night; particularly after 10 PM.
Monthly Total: 17.0"
Seasonal Total: 50.1"

We tacked on another 1/10th of an inch thereafter; to bring the
event total to 1.1".
Monthly Total: 17.1"
Seasonal Total: 50.2"
Today, Feb 28, marks the 89th day the ground has been
well-covered with snow here.

Added another 2/10ths of an inch by 6:30 AM. The main area of
snow is now off to the south and moving away.
The snow event total is 1.7".
The models did not do a very good job with timing; the snow
started about 6 hours before it was forecast to; and likewise
ended about 6 hours earlier than forecast.
Monthly Total: 1.7"
Seasonal Total: 51.9"
-1.1 F @ 6:46 AM.
*Note that another area of snow has developed off to my north;
and it may move down in through the area over the next hour or
so; as there is plenty of lingering mid level moisture.
