Snow starting to work into southern Pennington County; looks
like it is almost up to Hill City; should start here within the
next hour.
Just 6.6 F @ 9:38 PM...so a cold, wintery night ahead here.

Snow commenced here @ 11:11 PM Thursday evening; and was light
until after 1 AM...when it started to come down harder.
As of 5:55 AM Friday morning; I have received 3.4" new snow. It
continues to snow at the moment; and the temp is 9.3 F @ 6:05
AM.
Monthly Total: 11.1"
Seasonal Total: 44.2"

Since my last dispatch; it looks like another 9/10ths of an inch
of snow has fallen...bringing the storm total to 4.3" as of
11:22 AM.
Monthly Total: 12.0"
Seasonal Total: 45.1"
Continuing to snow @ 11:25 AM with a temp of 13.6 F.
Here in the Central Black Hills we again seem to have done very
well compared to the rest of the area...after checking out the
webcams...Keystone to the SE and Deadwood to the north look
considerably less snowy than here.

Nice band of some pretty moderate snow moving through here just
after noon...temp 15.3 F...winds light.

Wow! The 12z EC; after shutting off snow here this Friday
afternoon; redevelops it in the wee hours of Saturday morning
and then keeps it going right straight into late Sunday evening!
About 42 straight hours of snow; albeit mostly light snow.

Fantastic scene here on the mountain @ 12:45 PM...about six of
the most beautiful deer you will ever see just frolicking in the
snow (while trying to stay warm!) amidst a group of adorable
wild turkeys trying to do the same!
Nature is magnificent beyond all comprehension; and this is
truly a wonderous place to live; especially in the snow!
Life may not have given me everything I desired; but I most
assuredly do rejoice in this magnificent place I now call home!

It looks like we added a final 1/10th of an inch of
snow...bringing the final storm total to 4.4".
Just overcast now; temp 17.2 F @ 1:56 PM.
Monthly Total: 12.1"
Seasonal Total: 45.2"

Sun coming out here and everything looks magnificent!
Sunset is about 5:23 PM this afternoon.
Temp has popped up to 18.1 F @ 2:32 PM...which is nice to see!

Pretty heavy burst of snow poised to move in here within the
next 30 to 60 minutes...
16 F @ 3:33 AM.

The squall did move through here after 4 AM...briefly heavy; but
overall; underwhelming...depositing a quick 1/2 inch of new
snow. It raced into NW SD like lightning; and really augmented
the temps around here; @ 8:06 AM it has quickly gone up to a
balmy 25.9 F with a thick overcast.
Monthly Total: 12.6"
Seasonal Total: 45.7"
