So far on Saturday; we have picked up another 4/10ths of an inch
of snow as of 4 PM.
It has been mild today; currently 33.1 F @ 4 PM...and the precip
today included some sleet, snow grains, drizzle, and freezing
drizzle.
Monthly Total: 3.9"
Seasonal Total: 31.3"

@ 4 PM the temp has dropped back to 40.3 F; so at least it's
getting cooler...which is nice...lol.

Rain changed to heavy snow here @ 4:10 PM...though it is still
39.6 F.

As of 6:45 AM Monday morning; we have seen 1.5" new snow.
However, this event...despite the pedestrian snow amount... is
far and away the most exciting one of the season...
The winds associated with this were Absolutely
Unbelievable...near hurricane force...gusting upwards of 70
mph...making for true blizzard conditions overnight.
The combination of snow and blowing snow was; for lack of a
better term...spectacular.
It is 17.6 F @ 6:45 AM with light snow (and a tremendous amount
of blowing snow...a ground blizzard is in progress) still
falling.
Monthly Total: 5.4"
Seasonal Total: 32.8"

Looking at the local webcams...seems like there is hardly any
snow on the ground anywhere outside the Black Hills...Spearfish,
Sturgis, Rapid City...mostly bare ground this morning.

The next 5 days look fairly quiet; with just some occasional
light snow showers moving through...but towards Sunday
morning...a more significant system may organize in the
West...digging out a large trough and setting the stage for a
major snowstorm.
