As of 11:25 PM, we have exactly one inch of new snow...the snow
has been quite light the last couple of hours.
The current temp. is 29.7 F.
The annual snow total is now up to 3.5 inches.

With regards to that Cat 4 Hurricane Michael in the Gulf; I read
that 25,000 people decided to ride out the storm on a *BARRIER
ISLAND* right in the path of the storm. Given the strength of
what is coming at them; that may very well be the last decision
many of them ever make; if the Galveston Hurricane from 1900
serves as an example...I believe that one took 6000 lives; of
course; there was little or no warning systems available back
       then.

It is 26.8 F @ 6:25 AM; the snow is just a few flurries right
now; but it may pick up a bit with the very unstable air and the
considerable residual mid level lingering moisture after
sunrise; the daytime heating is known to work wonders in the
Black Hills when it comes to fueling convective activity. There
is also a new area of snow developing in far western Pennington
County; right along the Wyoming line.

       Like I said; I should do this for a living.  Right on cue;
immediately after sunrise; steady light snow has re-developed
       here with a temp. of 26.6 F.

Only added about 1/10th of an inch of snow during the daytime
hours; so the event total comes to 1.8 inches.
You know you live in a cold town when the high temperature for
the day manages to stay below freezing on OCTOBER 10TH!
This place; due to the altitude; has an annual mean close to
those of the towns in the Prairie Provinces of far southern
       Canada near the American border.
       Monthly Total: 4.2"
       Seasonal Total: 4.3"
Chance of some more light snow developing late tomorrow
       afternoon!
