It has been snowing most of the morning and there has been a
minor accumulation (less than one inch) so far. Temp is near
       the freezing point.

The 1/2 inch from this morning melted; but snow redeveloped abut
5 PM and is continuing to fall at the current hour; it is 32.7 F
       @ 6 PM.

1/2 inch new snow since 5 PM as of 8:45 PM; snow falling; temp
       31.6 F.
Means there has been a grand total of 1.0 inch new snow since
this whole mess began early Sunday morning (10/7/2018).

The quoted amount was the final total.
The seasonal total is now 2.5 inches.
       It is 29.8 F @ 6:55 AM.
Some snow should re-develop later today; I would expect an
       additional 2 to 4 inches.

Almost a carbon copy of yesterday; with snow having re-developed
       around 5 PM AND a current temp (@ 5:20 PM) of 32.7 F.
But Groundhog Day is not 'till February!

Heavy snow in the Black Hills @ 7:45 PM; temp down to 31.6 F.
Accumulating quickly. Winds picking up; generally out of the
       east.

The whole thing is like a NW / SE oriented Norlun Trough
extending from the Low over the Central Plains; and very nicely
       modeled; especially by the NAM.
       East winds slamming into the Black Hills have no where to go;
and thus must wring out their moisture; with nice enhancement
       from the orographic lift.
