Slightly off topic; but did want to note...the Black Hills make
the Berkshires of Massachusetts look like an urban
hell-hole...and I love the Berkshires...this is just an
unbelievably beautiful place to live...with the white tail deer
and wild turkeys roaming the property throughout the day...I
should have re-located here decades ago. Never have my mind and
body been so at peace.

It is 32 F at the moment with some light freezing rain and
drizzle. It must be quite warm aloft; I am just a little bit
below the 850 mb level here; which is at about 4781' per most
sources.

12z NAM with a heavy burst of snow (or rain quickly changing to
snow) here after 9:30 AM. It is 38.8 F right now / 8:32 AM.
It prints out about 2 or 3 quick inches...we'll see.

39.7 F here @ 10:20 AM...so not even *close* to snow...though
the high spots to my west have gone over to snow.

Skies brightening here; temp near 40 F...radar breaking
up...another great job by the NAM!...lol.

August here is like October in NY...except cooler...lol.
Waiting on the snow after midnight; remember; I am two hours
behind the rest of the world :D

I did notice from afar that Long Island ended winter with quite
the flourish...with the three March snowstorms and the April
snow...they have dreadful co-operatives there and so the true
historic nature of the spring snows is somewhat lost to history;
though Islip did record rather amazing post March 1st snow
numbers. Up towards the N. Shore; the seasonal total was
probably in the neighborhood of 75 inches of snow; especially
with the 20 inches that came with that last March cyclone.
Upton finished with between 55 & 56 inches; and they take good
measurments at the WFO; but the heaviest axis of snow was
displaced about 10 to 15 miles to their west last year.

Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport measured 22.4" after March 1st &
Mt. Sinai recorded 22.0" in that same span; the record shows
BOTH missing data AND undermeasurements during those four March
/ April snows; per Cocorahs and the PNS reports; the actual
amounts in those areas was probably in the vicinity of 40 inches
of snow post-March 1st; simply disgraceful that the "observers"
(and I use that term loosely) completely failed to do their
jobs.
