Snow has basically come to an end at 9:15 AM with the same storm
total as quoted above; 4.8".

Both the 6z GFS and Hi-Res RGEM (the GEM-LAM / HRDPS) are
aggressive with periods of snow on the Eastern Slopes of the
Black Hills; with 4 to 5 inches accumulation over the next 48
hours; starting late tonight. Both the 0z ECMWF and the Rapid
City NWS are unimpressed; with just some snow showers and
minimal accumulations forecast. We'll see.

Some (pretty heavy) snow started falling a few minutes ago; a
little before 6 AM MDT...with a temp of 32 F.

Snow stopped almost as soon as it began; but in less than an
hour; a quick 0.5" accumulated.
Brings the seasonal total to 47.4"; just short of 4 feet.
Monthly total at 15.4"

Very little precip has fallen during the day since the snow
stopped this morning; just a few light rain & snow showers; but
at 5 PM some steadier snow is re-developing with a temp of 35 F.
It could not have picked a better time to start up; what with
the sun getting low in the sky.
Edit: Last night's snow turned out light and only amounted to a
trace.

Some light snow is falling here this morning. It is windy and
cold with a temperature of 19 F.
