London RP Profile: John Wong (Alternate Dimension Version)
By: Zorbak the Ebil Moglin Date: August 31, 2024, 1:58 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"You can call me Red Hood." - John Wong (Alternate Dimension
Version)
"Haha.... It tickles." - John Wong as he was getting tortured
"An organized mind is a disciplined mind. And a disciplined mind
is a powerful mind."
"Be warned. I'm not much to look at..." - John Wong removing his
helmet to reveal his disfigured face
"Sorry... I guess I'll always have a few screws loose." - John
Wong joking when an enemy who called him crazy.
"I heard you gentlemen were having a party. Mind if I crash it?"
- John Wong entering an enemy hideout
"Dimensional wave is holding steady. Jumps at a sound nearby.
Which is more than I can say for my nerves..." - John Wong being
sarcastic during a mission
"Who's broken now, robot?" - John Wong after defeating Cyber
Storm V, a robot version of Vendetta Zolnerowich in his world
"I'm here to stop you. Throws heart shaped throwing star to
destroy a computer. But I'm gonna guess you won't have the
'heart' to surrender." - John Wong joking while throwing his
playing card suit shaped throwing stars.
"I do hate you for killing my family. But I won't betray them by
becoming a murderer. Because then their deaths would lose all
meaning." - John Wong to Kindron Darkfire in his world.
"The chemicals in the acid I was thrown into disfigured my face.
And ever since that day, I have been trying to pick up the
pieces of my shattered mind due to the incident."
"Do you like my combat style, robot? I change styles randomly to
keep you guessing. I don't even think about it. I just do it so
I don't focus on the moves I make." - John Wong to Cyber Storm
V.
"Darkfire Technologies was the single greatest threat our world
ever faced. They intimidated governments and bought their way in
to almost every corporation around the world. They were a crime
syndicate that surpassed even Black Sun. Kindron Darkfire had
his forces: Cyber Storm Vendetta taking control of the robot
technologies, the vampire crime syndicate Hellsing to control
the supernatural population, and the Tolodora/Asgard Armada in
space to control space travel. Kindron Darkfire took control of
our world by gaining access to every part of our lives through
his company's technology and their alliances. Those of us
willing to fight banded together to try and save our world from
being overtaken by Kindron Darkfire his forces, but we failed.
The fight only ended when Cyber Storm Vendetta and Colonel
Tolodora caused the implosion of our universe during their
weapons research. Now only me and a few others of my band of
heroes have survived our universe's destruction." - John Wong
about his world
During a confrontation with enemies.
Enemy: Hand us the device, or force will be required. The enemy
says to John Wong.
John Wong: Oh, I believe force will DEFINITELY be required. He
says sarcastically.
During a confrontation with enemies.
John Wong throws a club throwing star at the opponent and it
electrocutes them.
John Wong: Sorry to 'bolt,' but I still have to stop your boss.
He says jokingly, making a pun, as he leaves.
During a confrontation with enemies.
Enemy: You think throwing stars will be enough to kill us? The
enemy says, a group behind him.
John Wong: They're not meant to kill you. So don't underestimate
them...
He then throws an explosive heart throwing star, which explodes
and knocks down the enemy group.
John Wong: Or you'll suffer an 'explosive' result. He says
jokingly at his heart throwing star's explosion.
"Your spirit is stronger than most humans. Even when we found
your hideout in the Ace Chemical Plant, you fought valiantly.
Ultimately, it was a futile gesture. But your psyche, though
bent, did not break when faced with horrible disfigurement." -
One of John Wong's enemies, Cyber Storm V (a robot version of
Vendetta Zolnerowich), to John Wong
"When all your allies fell, you still believed you could somehow
save this world." - Kindron Darkfire to John Wong
Name: John Wong (Alternate Dimension Version)
Title: Red Hood (Alternate Dimension Version)
Age: Unknown
Species: Human enhanced by mutation from chemicals
Gender: Male
Hunter Group/Team: None
Weapons and Equipment:
- Playing Card Suit Throwing Stars: Hearts: John Wong has a
number of these he always carries when in wearing his Red Hood
suit which he has custom made. He keeps a number of these on
hand, with each being modeled after the suits on playing cards
(he has some for each suit). These throwing stars are short
range to mid-range weapons, which are designed for stabbing
opponents up close, or using them to throw at people and
objects. They are very sharp, and can be used in close combat
while held or at mid range if thrown. Each throwing star modeled
after a suit has a different specific function (Meaning John
Wong has four different types of throwing stars). For the first
one, which is his hearts throwing stars, the throwing stars are
lined with explosive silver, which explode when thrown. When
they explode, the throwing stars shrapnel is meant to get stuck
in wounds, leaving behind the silver used to make these. Though
painted red, the hearts throwing stars are all made with silver,
and the red paint is an explosive material that explodes when
enough force is applied to it. These silver throwing stars are
meant to do more damage against supernatural creatures like
vampires and werewolves, along with the fact they were
specifically designed to do more damage to the ghouls of his
world (which don't exist in London currently). The silver is a
type of holy silver, and John Wong has specifically designed
these for the purpose of fighting supernaturals. For the most
part, these throwing stars are designed to be used for their
explosive design, and can explode with the force of a grenade
when they are thrown with enough force. If opponents are close
enough to the explosion, there is a risk of the exploding
throwing stars breaking apart from the explosion and hitting
opponents. As such, these are good weapons to use on groups, as
even if they aren't hit by the initial explosion, the shrapnel
can still hit them if they are too close. However, as with all
explosives, these can be blocked by strong enough defenses, or
they can be dodged by fast enough opponents. These are not as
strong as one might think, as John Wong designed these so that
they wouldn't be too powerful. If they were too powerful, John
Wong would risk being caught in the explosion. And that brings
up the last weakness, in which these can be redirected to John
Wong and can be used to attack him if an enemy can stop them
without them exploding (using things like earth or magnetic
manipulation).
- Playing Card Suit Throwing Stars: Diamonds: John Wong has a
number of these he always carries when in wearing his Red Hood
suit which he has custom made.
This is the
next throwing star type that John Wong has, which is modeled
after the suit of diamonds. These are painted and shaped into
diamonds, being sharp and able to cut through things. However,
these throwing stars are designed with a special material that
absorbs and amplifies light. When thrown, these can still damage
enemies like normal throwing stars, but their primary purpose
lies in the light they absorb. When the throwing stars absorb
light using the special material used in them, the light is
amplified and explodes outward. Because of this, these throwing
stars are designed specifically to be used like flashbangs. When
used, the throwing stars light generates amplifies the light
enough that it can act as a flashbang, which can blind opponents
temporarily. However, flashbangs also serve the purpose of
temporarily dispelling shadows due to the intense light, which
can also do damage or even kill creatures melding with the
shadows. These flashbangs can also do severe damage to opponents
vulnerable to light, such as death wraiths and dark spirits (at
least the ones vulnerable to light, as not all death wraiths and
dark spirits are vulnerable to light). These throwing stars are
used for their light amplification, and the diamonds shaped
throwing stars are always made for this purpose. However,
flashbang attacks don't work on everyone, and don't affect those
unaffected by large flashes of light (such as blind people, or
people wearing eye protection from extreme light). The light
also doesn't do any physical damage, unless one is made up of
darkness or shadows, so these are more of a distraction than
anything. This means that these throwing stars are usually
non-lethal, and are not meant to kill opponents, for better or
worse.
- Playing Card Suit Throwing Stars: Clubs: John Wong has a
number of these he always carries when in wearing his Red Hood
suit which he has custom made.
This is the
next throwing star type that John Wong has, which is modeled
after the suit of clubs. When these types of throwing stars are
thrown, they are sharp so that they can be thrown and embedded
in targets or objects. However, they aren't sharp enough to
completely cut through an opponent or target, since their
purpose isn't piercing opponents. Instead, the purpose of these
throwing stars is to stick to a target. When the throwing stars
hit a target, these type of throwing stars release an electric
current, thanks to a small device inside the throwing star that
holds an electric charge. When it comes to these throwing stars,
the trick isn't trying to cut an enemy down with them, but
instead to throw them with just enough force that they embed
themselves in the wound, and then get hit with the electricity
within the stars that is released upon impact. These throwing
stars are designed more for incapacitating enemies rather than
killing, or taking out machines that are hit with the throwing
stars (as the electricity can short circuit machines). The
electric current acts like a taser shock, which can knock
opponents unconscious, or take out machines vulnerable to
electrical overload. However, those immune to electricity, or
those that can absorb it, will not be negatively affected by
these beyond the initial cut of the throwing stars. And just
like any other throwing star, these can also be dodged if John
Wong throws these at them (assuming they have the reflexes to do
so). As mentioned though, these are meant more for
incapacitation or taking out computers, so they are not designed
to be lethal since John Wong is not someone who likes to use
lethal force.
- Playing Card Suit Throwing Stars: Spades: John Wong has a
number of these he always carries when in wearing his Red Hood
suit which he has custom made.
This is the
next throwing star type that John Wong has, which is modeled
after the suit of spades. This throwing star type is another
sharp throwing star, designed to be thrown and stuck into a
target. But much like his other throwing stars, this throwing
star type has a secondary function beyond just hurting
opponents. When striking a target, these throwing stars open up
and release metallic ropes that wrap around someone and trap
them. The ropes are typically compressed and expanded when air
is introduced as the throwing stars open up. The metal ropes are
meant for capturing opponents when the throwing stars hit them.
The ropes are also made of a metallic substance that negates
powers thanks to special runes in the metallic ropes. Since
these were designed to capture and incapacitate supernaturals
and others with powered abilities, these ropes are designed
specifically to account for those powers. While this doesn't
disable technology, it does negate artificial powers that are
used by cybernetics (as long as it's not tech based like
nanobots), and it still negates almost any kind of supernatural
ability as long as the power is vulnerable to power negation.
These ropes are designed to be strong enough to hold opponents,
usually so that villains who are captured with these can be
taken to prison. However, these, like the other throwing stars,
can still be dodged, though blocking these throwing stars isn't
a good idea since blocking may result in the metallic ropes
being released and still wrapping around the target.
- Playing Card Suit Special Card: The Joker: This is John Wong's
trump card (No pun intended), modeled after the joker in a
playing card deck. This card is a specially designed card that
John Wong uses, which is thrown like a throwing star. The card
is sharpened to stick to objects when thrown, specifically to
embed itself into other targets. This card though, like his
throwing stars, has a specific purpose beyond just being used as
throwing stars. These cards are designed with special tech that
uses subspace communication, but also have teleportation
technology in them. When thrown, they can teleport anyone or
anything in contact with them to any other Joker card in John
Wong may have. For example, he always keeps one card in his home
base, so that he can teleport back to it at will. He often will
throw these cards to teleport short distances when the cards
move far enough away from him, in order to throw off his
opponents when he suddenly disappears. He also can use these to
teleport to others, in which he will give them one of the cards
and he can teleport to it at will. The tech in these cards are
linked to special tech in his grapple devices that he can use
whenever he needs to. He simply needs to know which card to
teleport to, and then punch it into his grapple device's system
to tell it where to teleport him. He can teleport himself or any
of his cards to any other card's location or even teleporting
cards back to him if needed. This can be used creatively for a
number of purposes. One purpose he usually uses this for beyond
just teleporting short distances is that he will use it to
teleport allies, or teleport to allies he has given cards to.
Another purpose he will use this for is to throw multiple cards
in battle and teleport around to confuse his opponents. The last
major noteworthy use of these cards is that John Wong will
sometimes use these cards to teleport someone elsewhere, usually
teleporting them when the card hits them to a special location
where he has hidden cards to send an opponent to another area.
Another thing about these cards is that they are immune to
teleportation negation, since they are tech, and not
supernatural abilities. However, these are not usually meant to
do any real damage to opponents, and opponents could always just
teleport back if they are teleported away. Opponents may also
figure out how this works if they are smart enough to know that
he teleports to the cards, and they can take advantage of it.
However, if John Wong's grapple devices are damaged, or the tech
in the cards is damaged, John Wong cannot teleport using this
system.
- Grapple Devices: These devices are hidden by John Wong's Red
Hood suit, but he has special grapple devices hidden in his
sleeves. He has two grapple devices, one on each wrist, which
shoot out wire lines that he can use in battle, that even have
grapple hooks connected to the end so that they can pierce and
grasp a surface. When fired, these hooks are designed to grasp a
surface or grab the wire line so that John Wong can grapple
away. These lines are made of a carbon fiber wire that is very
strong, and capable of holding a lot of weight (meaning they
won't snap if multiple people are with John Wong when he uses
them). The carbon fibers are conductive, which means that they
conduct electricity (more later). These lines are fired from his
grapple devices in his wrists, and each device has multiple
lines that can be fired. These lines are not just for grappling
though, as they can also be used to trap opponents. When fired,
they can be fired toward opponents to trap them with a quick
twist of the wrist as the line is close enough to the opponent.
Depending on the opponent and John Wong's own strength, John
Wong is able to use these to wrap the lines around opponents and
trap them if used correctly. However, the main use for these
grapple lines is getting around, and John Wong is able to use
these on the environment to grapple to surfaces by using the
grapple hook to hook into whatever he is trying to use to hook
his grapple hook into. This is best used for getting around, but
can also be used in battle for evasion, as these lines can be
used effectively to help dodge attacks if John Wong is fast
enough. For the most part, these lines are meant to be used
creatively, and can be used for a variety of purposes. However,
while strong, these lines are not indestructible, and can be
destroyed by those who can destroy the material the wires are
made of. Also, some material may be too strong to use to grapple
around, such as metallic surfaces (to which the grapple hook
would just bounce off a metal surface). Also, certain opponents
may be able to manipulate the material, such as magnetic users
or earth users may control the wire lines if they are able to
apply their power to the lines. Also, these lines require
maneuverability and agility to use properly, so this is
something that can be difficult to use in some situations if
John Wong is not able to use them properly.
- Red Hood Suit: Bulletproof Carbon Fiber and Metallic Helmet:
John Wong has a custom Red Hood suit that he usually wears when
fighting that he has customized. John Wong has two major things
to note, which are his bulletproof carbon fiber suit, and his
metallic helmet. Sewn into his Red Hood outfit is a special
carbon fiber, designed for flexibility and strength. Unlike
armors and other defensive outfits, the main use of this carbon
fiber is that it hardens in response to trauma (meaning it
hardens when hit), so it can still remain flexible when used to
protect the body from impacts. The main reason that John Wong
wears this is for defensive purposes, so that he won't get hurt,
but can still remain agile. John Wong's entire outfit is made of
this carbon fiber, save his helmet, which is a special
non-metallic titanium alloy with technological enhancements
(Mostly just a heads up display and a few scanning functions).
While this suit may seem like it's meant to be more for show,
this suit does have a lot of functionality in battle, which
works alongside John Wong's training to supplement his skills as
a combatant. And within the jacket of his outfit, there are
pockets with his weapons (his throwing stars and joker cards)
that he keeps on him when he wears this outfit. John Wong always
wears this outfit when on missions or when he's interacting with
others. He usually wears his helmet due to the fact his face is
disfigured, as he tends to want to keep his face hidden. When it
comes to his outfit, John Wong designed this outfit for combat,
so it is not too restrictive in moment, while still being
strong. However, while the carbon fiber in this outfit is strong
when hit, the key to getting through this armor is not to hit it
harder, but to hit it softer. If one doesn't hit it with enough
kinetic force, the outfit won't harden in response (save the
helmet which is meant to be strong). For example, if an opponent
softly put a knife into the suit, it could cut the suit as long
as force isn't put into it. Also, certain abilities like
electricity can be used strategically to get past the defense of
his outfit, and other abilities like extreme heat and cold may
affect him through his outfit or affect his outfit depending on
the skills used.
Combat Abilities:
- Advanced Level Mixed Martial Arts/Stealth Training: John Wong
has been trained in a number of combat styles, and was trained
in his world by the League of Guardians (his world's version of
the League of Assassins). During his training, John Wong has
been trained in a number of fighting styles, like Aikido,
Capoeira, Eskrima, Hapkido, Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Jujitsu, Karate,
Ninjutsu, Sambo, Savate, Mauy Thai, Krav Maga, and Taekwondo.
While nowhere near mastery level in his training in any one
style, he does have a mix of styles, and changes his styles
frequently in combat to keep his opponents guessing. In
addition, John Wong has also been trained in the League's own
stealth combat training as well, with use of ninjutsu, modified
with other styles from around the world. The point of their
stealth combat training is for silent take-downs, and
concealment. Due to this, John Wong is a skilled stealth
combatant. John Wong has been trained in a large number of
concealment techniques, such as using certain substances to
cover his scent or even moving almost completely silently in
order to keep himself hidden. While he isn't a master level
stealth combatant, he is a higher level than most at keeping
himself concealed. Unlike others who focus on normal combat or
stealth combat, John Wong is able to do both, and uses his
combat styles as well as he can. He also combines supernatural
hunter combat styles into the mix, and knows enough about
supernaturals to take down many different kinds of
supernaturals. John Wong has also combined this with his
knowledge of mechanical opponents in order to take down robots,
since he has had to fight high level robots in the past. John
Wong is perhaps one of the most versatile combatants in his
world, and when combined with his mutation from the chemicals
that disfigured him, he is a very capable combatant. However,
John Wong does still have his weaknesses, and his main one
happens to be how many styles he has. because he is trained in
so many styles with so much adaptability, he likely will never
master any one style since he doesn't commit to any one style.
By keeping his skills diverse, he is more like a jack of all
trades when it comes to combat, and because of this, he likely
cannot master the styles he knows. If an opponent understands
this, and how his combat works, they may be able to counter his
combat styles. A lot of John Wong's enemies have countered his
styles in the past, so it's not actually as hard as it may sound
to counter combat skills. John Wong also relies on weapon combat
and his equipment to help him in fights, which can also be used
against him if he is ever without those weapons.
- Combat Substyle: Combat Style Switching: This is a unique
aspect of John Wong's combat that he developed. This style
focuses and hones John Wong's combat style, but adds elements of
randomness to it. This style uses simple combat mastery to train
the body, in which the user literally trains them in basic
movements and techniques until the user learns to do the moves
instinctively. However, the main aspect of this style is that
John Wong has trained himself to constantly change styles
randomly without thinking about his combat. This style uses
basic martial arts knowledge, but instead uses John Wong's
combat instincts to modify his combat when facing opponents.
This is a very simple style designed to throw elements of
randomness into his combat style, so that opponents who try to
predict him cannot predict his combat style (thus making him
much more difficult to counter when he can randomly change
styles). In this combat technique, John Wong trains himself to
randomly change styles, and doesn't think about his movements so
that he won't think about how to counter (thus making his
counters predictable), and makes him much harder to predict by
his opponents as a result. This style is designed to be used
subconsciously, so John Wong isn't even aware himself of what
styles he switches to until he starts using the styles. In
addition, John Wong's muscle movements also are adapted to this
style, where he switches his combat movements instinctively
which can change how people perceive his combat when they try to
predict him. This has proven effective against many kinds of
opponents whose specialty is predicting opponents. For example,
John Wong fighting the robot Cyber Storm V in his world would
normally have Cyber Storm V able to calculate his every move by
reading his muscle movement and tactics, but even her systems
couldn't predict John Wong's combat. However, while useful, John
Wong's use of this style is not as effective if he has to think
about his combat movements. For example, if he is fighting
someone and trying to think about how best to take them down, he
will start focusing on his movements and become predictable
again if he doesn't constantly switch styles. This means that
John Wong's style is only the most effective when he's allowing
himself to fight instinctively, and not thinking about his
movements.
- Supernatural Hunter Weapon and Physical Combat: There are many
combat styles out there that are able to be used by just about
anyone as well as some that are usable by different races.
Almost any being can learn combat styles, whether they are
physical combat styles or weapon styles. Depending on the
combatant, there are even some unique options for certain types
of beings, such as how spirit users have certain spirit based
styles they use. It is also possible that some users may even
develop their own combat style based on the abilities and
training. Because of how many styles are out there from official
styles of combat, to supernatural combat styles, and even a lot
of unique combat styles, it is hard to list each one. For the
most part, it comes down to what the user wants to learn and if
they can find someone to teach them certain combat styles (or
have the skill to make their own style). For the most part,
martial arts and/or weapon styles alone are quite numerous, and
depending on the preferred style of the user, there are plenty
of styles out there that a user can find to fit their own
fighting styles. There are also many who might learn
supernatural combat styles, in which some races have their own
specific combat styles. The most important aspect of combat
though for users though is learning to master their own combat
potential, and all their combat styles should usually be based
on this aspect whether it's physical combat or weapon based
combat. There are a number of combat styles available, so
listing them all is impossible, but a general common thing is
that the more styles one knows, the harder it is to master them
all. While having multiple styles does allow one to mix and
match aspects of styles more easily, trying to train in too many
styles can limit one's combat ability since they have to learn
many different aspects rather than focus on just one. However,
while training in only one or two styles means one can master
them better than if they focused on multiple styles, this also
means that those that specialize in specific styles usually are
limited by that style's combat (for example, a grapple based
style would be focused around grapples and most likely wouldn't
use skills non-grapple based styles use). Another thing to note
is that each style has its own strengths and weaknesses. For
example, grapple and throwing styles require close combat and
making physical contact with opponents, or styles relying on
power may be countered by speed-based styles that can dodge the
power based style. For John Wong, he combines this with his
normal fighting styles in order to take down many different
kinds of opponents mixed into his main combat style.
- Mechanical Opponent Combat Knowledge: In John Wong's world, he
has specifically learned to fight and take out technological
threats. Due to Darkfire Technologies in his world being his
main enemy, he has had to learn everything he can about robots
and reploids that were originally created by the Darkfire
Technologies of his world. This includes special training in how
to combat reploids, as well as learning how to fight
cybernetically enhanced opponents. Because of this, John Wong
learned the strengths and weaknesses of robots, androids,
reploids, and even how to fight mechaniloids (all of which were
things he had to learn in his world alongside his allies to take
on Darkfire Technologies). John Wong has learned a lot about
robots from studying them, and has a thorough knowledge of how
robots work. For example, many will often wonder what the
differences are between robots, androids, and reploids, but John
Wong knows very well how to handle each specific type of
mechanical being and how to identify them. Usually, the major
difference is how much level of thought each type of mechanical
being has, with reploids often having the highest critical
thinking and emotional capacity. It is often important to know
this when fighting mechanical threats, as well as knowing how
different mechanical beings are constructed. For example, most
mechanical beings have at least one power core and some form of
brain, which can be taken out in order to take out the
mechanical being. John Wong has faced high level robots, with
the most powerful being Cyber Storm V (Kindron Darkfire's
strongest robot creation). John Wong has also learned things
like how to track robots, and he has also learned about the
builds of mechanical beings in order to figure out how to take
them out. John Wong even has some knowledge of alien tech and
alien machines enough to take them out. Of course, as one might
imagine, this knowledge only goes as far as John Wong's training
and intelligence, and because of the vast options of mechanical
beings, it's almost impossible for John Wong to learn everything
there is to know, as there are so many different races and
options for mechanical beings that each one often ends up being
unique in some way depending on the unit and what it's designed
for. Also, his knowledge is fairly basic compared to others, and
he only really knows enough to fight or destroy them, not enough
about how to build or reprogram them.
- Combatant Weapons Training and Weapon Counter Styles: During
their time fighting and learning combat, many combatants often
become a master of weapons, in which most have trained in a
number of weapons from swords to knives to staves, and even many
knowing how to use guns. For the most part, most have to learn
different weapons to learn different combat styles, so
combatants will often figure out how weapons work into their
styles over time and find weapons that they are comfortable
using. For example, some may not be much for using guns in
combat, but there are many combatants who have been trained in
gun style combat, where many have become expert marksmen even
though they don't like to use guns. However, the main purposes
to train with so many weapons is not just to find what the
combatant is comfortable with, but to train them in how to
combat and counter weapons. For example, training in guns shows
a combatant what to look for in those that use guns, such as
noticing when the enemy is focused on aiming, or using the
barrel of the gun as a visual reference to see where the
opponent is aiming their gun. This works for many weapon types,
where combatants learn to understand how weapons are used and
learn to recognize how their opponents will use weapons against
them. While they can get this training in specific weapon styles
(which are available as long as someone has someone to learn
from), combatants also learn how to counter supernatural
weapons, where combatants often train to combat supernaturals
and learn to fight supernatural weapons. Depending on the
combatant, many are experts in weapons from using them, to even
learning how to counter them depending on what they want to do.
As experienced warriors would say: If one wants to counter
something, they must first understand it themselves. This allows
those that train with weapons a much more knowledgeable use of
weapons, which they can take advantage of. While most do tend to
favor certain types of weapons depending on the combatants, they
can use most any weapon to some extent, with most having varying
skill with others depending on their training. And depending on
the combatants own fighting styles, learning to use some weapons
may be necessary as things like using weapons styles require
learning weapons and how to both use and fight them. For the
most part, John Wong has been trained in a number of combat and
weapon styles, so he knows how to use most types of weapons and
knows how to counter weapons. Of course, he does prefer his own
types of weapons like his throwing stars, and doesn't usually
use things like guns or knives or other deadly weapons (since he
avoids killing people).
- Combatant Weapon Training: Weapon and Marksmen Expert: Many
combatants who train in weapons learn how to master weapons,
from bladed weapons to even guns. When it comes to guns, many
combatants can use different kinds of weapon, even to the point
that some can learn to utilize specialty weapons not readily
available depending on the access they have. This gives
combatants an easy adaptability to most kinds of weapons, where
they learn to utilize almost any kind of weapon. This
adaptability in fighting, usually thanks to intense weapons
training, allows them to easily adapt to using most weapons even
if they're not experienced with them (to which most can at least
use weapons they're not experienced with fairly effectively).
However, those that train in weapons will often have weapons
they specialize in specifically, whether it's bladed weapons or
guns. Thanks to combat training, not only are combatants trained
in weapons (usually by being exposed to them and learning to use
them), but can adapt their fighting styles to utilize weapons,
such as how some styles like gun kata or CQC are meant to be
used with guns. And while using guns, those trained with guns
become extremely accurate from their training with weapons.
Thanks to this, highly trained combatants almost always fire
their shots accurately to the point that they shoot at the spot
they were aiming at (Not meaning they will always hit opponents,
but more just that their bullets are shot at the spot they are
aimed at whether the opponent is there or not). Many combatants
are expert marksmen, in which some even get special training for
using guns depending on the combatant. And for those who are
advanced marksmen, they can usually account for most enemies
movement in battle when aiming at enemies (not always accurate,
but many can try to anticipate movement and adapt their shots
accordingly). As such, combatants with enough training with
weapons are not to be underestimated in battle. And depending on
the experience of the combatant, some may have experience to
back up their training that will make them even more dangerous.
This becomes even more dangerous among supernaturals who have
supernatural senses to help them, though humans can still learn
just as easily even without help from special abilities or
technology. While John Wong doesn't have supernatural level
senses, he does have slightly enhanced senses and physical
abilities that make him more dangerous than normal combatants.
John Wong is good with weapons, and will use them if he has to,
but he often prefers to avoid using things like guns and knives,
due to the fact he hates using deadly weapons, and focuses on
weapons that incapacitate rather than kill.
- Combatant Supernatural Hunting Weapons Experts: Since many
combatants have to learn how to fight supernaturals, almost all
combatants have to learn to use supernatural hunter weapons in
some form, so that they have weapons to use against supernatural
threats. This could include things like silver knives, angel
knives, demon-killing weapons, or even using certain materials
like varanium and stilled silver. This usually depends on the
combatant and what they have available to use, as combatants
should prepare for whatever kinds of supernaturals they might
fight. For example, before going into a werewolf infested
forest, a combatant may grab some silver knives to use, or they
would use special holy or demon killing weapons if they were
fighting demons or other demonic type creatures. There are a
number of supernatural hunter weapons that combatants can learn
how to use (depending on their training and preference), and
most usually have to learn how to use them to survive against
supernaturals. And depending on the skills of the combatant,
there is a chance that some can even develop their own
supernatural hunting weapons depending on their knowledge and
skills. But for the most part, it is hard to quantify every
option out there, since there are so many. Depending on the user
and the situations they may face, this usually determines what
the combatant will usually carry with them. Users may also
choose weapons based on what they have available, such as some
who are a part of groups may have access to certain weapons
others don't have. This also includes certain materials that
might be available, where users can take advantage of certain
materials used to fight supernaturals. The biggest examples of
this kind of material are varanium and stilled silver, which
have become popular for fighting supernaturals due to the
effects they have on supernaturals. Some races may even have
their own methods for taking on supernaturals. For the most
part, this mostly covers weapons specifically designed for
fighting supernatural opponents, as normal weapons are usually
covered under any weapons training. And like all weapons, these
kinds of weapons all have counters depending on the weapons, and
combat styles using these weapons usually also have counters as
well by other styles. John Wong is trained in supernatural
hunter weapons, and how to fight supernaturals. Though he
doesn't always use special weapons, since he typically relies on
his specific throwing stars in combat.
- Supernatural vs Supernatural Hunter Training: There are two
variations of supernatural combat training. There is the
supernatural side of training that lets them learn to defend
themselves and fight threats (as well as taking out supernatural
hunters), and then there is the supernatural hunter side where
they will learn to hunt down and kill supernaturals. Typically,
the training depends on the user, and each side has its benefits
and downsides. Most users learn one side of combat training,
where they will learn what ever side they fall in. For example,
supernatural hunters fall into supernatural hunter training, and
supernaturals often fall into the supernatural training. This is
because supernatural hunters learn to fight supernaturals, while
supernaturals learn to defend themselves against supernatural
hunters (and sometimes other supernaturals). Because of this,
the training on supernaturals or hunters depend on what side the
combatant falls on. This applies to almost every kind of
combatant, as it is important to determine how one will apply
their combat training. As such, users must often learn one side
or another, though many can study how the other side fights in
order to learn how to counter them (which many often do). For
every aspect of training, there are these two types of training,
since the training is usually determined by what a combatant
will face. While some may not train in either (usually
non-supernaturals who don't want to learn combat), those that
train in combat often have to learn this due to all the possible
threats they may encounter. For example, human combatants often
learn supernatural hunter training, unless the human is a
supernatural themselves, in which case they may favor
supernatural training. Users have to usually chose one or the
other, as most don't really have much use for both combat
styles. The only real exception to this is supernaturals who
become supernatural hunters (which is a very rare case), because
they not only have to counter supernaturals, but also have to
counter supernatural hunters who may come after them if they
find out they are supernaturals. Both sides often counter each
other, so supernaturals are usually countered by supernatural
hunter training, and vice versa. However, both sides also have
training to counter the same users, such as supernaturals
learning to counter other supernaturals or hunters countering
other hunters. For John Wong, he is more of a supernatural
hunter/combatant, so he doesn't have supernatural skill
training. Instead, he has supernatural hunter skills and
training.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Strengths and
Weaknesses Expert: Since most supernatural hunters have to fight
supernaturals and have to learn in order to survive their
fights, most learn everything they can about other races and
become experts in almost every kind of creature, and while they
often specialize in specific types of supernaturals (Like some
may become vampire hunters and specialize in hunting vampires),
most supernatural hunters can learn to fight many other types of
creatures as well depending on their training. And depending on
their training, most supernatural hunters have to learn how to
fight different types of creatures whether they want to or not
once they start hunting (as many supernatural hunters will often
be targeted by supernaturals whether they want to be or not).
Depending on the supernatural hunter, some will search libraries
on all manners of supernatural lore and creatures depending on
what they have access to, and over time they will come to know
the strengths and weaknesses of many types of races, including
spells, exorcisms and traps used against almost all manners of
supernaturals. Depending on the age and experience of the
supernatural hunter, most learn as much about killing other
supernaturals as they can, as the more they know about fighting
supernaturals, the higher their chance of survival against a
wide variety of possible threats they may encounter. Of course,
supernatural hunters typically use this opportunity to learn
what they can, but most typically are only limited by the
information they can find and what information they can retain.
However, the best way to learn to fight supernaturals is through
experience, though knowledge of supernaturals is also very
important. It is important to balance knowledge and experience
when fighting supernaturals, and being sure to know the
strengths and weaknesses of most supernaturals if they want to
survive, since threats may come in all shapes and sizes. Of
course, this can be limited depending on the knowledge of a
user, where some may not know about certain creatures, such as
how the The'Galin were not in any history books before they just
suddenly appeared, and only angels and demons from before time
began knew of them.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Hunting and
Tracking/Tracking Avoidance: For the most part, supernatural
hunters have to learn specifically how to track supernaturals if
they are ever to find supernaturals to hunt down. Because
supernaturals are getting smarter and learning to counter
supernatural hunters, supernatural hunters have to be creative
in how they handle tracking supernaturals, which also means
supernatural hunters must adapt in response in a never-ending
cycle. Usually, training can involve things like being able to
analyze foot steps of creatures to find out more about where
their opponent is going, while some more skilled supernatural
hunters can use tracking more effectively to learn more about
the supernaturals they're tracking. For example, many
supernatural hunters don't rely on supernatural senses, so they
may use foot prints to track an opponent, but master level
supernatural hunters can learn what kind of creature made the
prints by analyzing things like how deep the footprint is and
the size of the stride being a way to tell a rough estimate of
the weight of the make of the tracks, or even traces of elements
in the footprints could be signs of certain supernaturals (such
as demons leave behind a sulfuric trace wherever they go and is
also in their footsteps). In addition, supernatural hunters are
also trained to listen to the environment, in which the
environment can be a great way to track opponents. For example,
most know that when everything in a forest goes quiet, even the
bugs, it usually means there is a predator nearby, and some
supernatural hunters can use that to tell when they are close to
a possible target. This skill is something that not only
requires knowledge of tracking, and using the environment, but
also requires knowledge of supernaturals as well. For example,
some were-creatures actually jump through trees in the forest
rather than walk on the ground, in which supernatural hunters
have to understand that and use that knowledge to their
advantage. Supernatural hunters usually have a sense of when
creatures are around them, and most are trained specifically to
track supernatural creatures. Most have come up with many ways
to track supernaturals and constantly change their strategies,
as the world of supernatural hunting is rapidly changing as
supernaturals come to learn supernatural hunter tricks for
hunting. And while human supernatural hunters learn to use
hunting and tracking without supernatural senses, many
supernatural hunters that may have other supernatural abilities
of their own may also have supernatural senses that can also
help them more easily track or sense potential enemies they may
encounter, or potential enemies that might be tracking them.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Exorcism, Weakness and Trap
Knowledge: Most supernatural hunters have to learn how to use
exorcisms and traps for a multitude of creatures and
mythologies, due to exorcisms and traps being something that can
possibly save their lives against certain types of enemies. Due
to supernatural hunters having to learn about a number of
supernaturals, and having to adapt to many situations, most have
to learn extensively what supernaturals are weak to, and how to
cast out stronger supernaturals than they can handle if they
want to survive. Supernatural hunters can use exorcisms and
traps in order to take advantage of other races weaknesses, and
typically use this on other creatures that are vulnerable to
exorcisms and traps as a means to overcome them more easily. For
example, almost any supernatural and human these days know that
holy oil works well for trapping angels, and many even know
demonic exorcisms to exorcise angels back to Heaven. For the
most part, they also know how most supernaturals operate, as
they have to know the differences between supernatural creatures
and use whatever weakness for the creatures they are trying to
learn to overcome. Most supernatural hunters seek as many ways
to exorcise and trap beings as possible, specifically for
finding ways to trap stronger enemies they may have to run away
from, or finding unique ways to counter some supernaturals who
have come up with tricks of their own as more and more
supernaturals are trained in supernatural hunter tactics. As
such, many supernatural hunters that are experienced have had
the time to build up their knowledge and even amateur
supernatural hunters have learned about traps and exorcisms to
some degree as there are numbers of cases where knowledge of
this can help save a hunter's life if used properly even against
some stronger opponents. Some supernatural hunters have learned
a lot about these not just through books, but by watching other
supernatural hunters and sometimes even watching supernaturals.
Some even have unique ways to take advantage of these based on
their knowledge and creativity, such as one set of supernatural
hunters, who came up with the idea to carve devil traps onto
bullets in order to prevent a demon from being able to leave the
body they are in, which supernaturals took and used to counter
demons as well. And depending on the supernatural hunter, some
may even have to counter other supernatural hunters as well
since some supernatural hunters see others as rivals.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Hunter Counter
Experts: Because of the rivalry between some supernatural hunter
groups, there are some supernatural hunter groups that fight
each other. Because of this, most supernatural hunters also have
to worry about other supernatural hunter groups, or some
supernatural hunter hunter groups who use their own tactics
against them, which even applies to spirit users who become
supernatural hunters. Because of this, supernatural hunters have
to be aware of when groups are using their own tactics, and they
have to adapt and counter those tactics when they arise. This
training also teaches supernatural hunters how to avoid certain
traps and tracking that other supernaturals will use, with some
groups training their supernatural hunters how to counter the
supernatural hunter group rivals of the group they're trained by
(For example, the Christian churches may have rivalries with
different churches supernatural hunter groups, or certain other
secret groups like the Men of Letters may refuse to cooperate
with other groups). Because of this, it's also important for
supernatural hunters to realize that their enemies are not
always supernaturals, but sometimes other humans and other
supernatural hunters. This mostly applies to supernaturals that
double as supernatural hunters (and may apply to spirit users),
as they often come under scrutiny for hunting their own kind and
some human supernatural groups won't let them operate as
supernatural hunters in fear they may turn on humans. Because of
this, supernatural hunters are not only weary of supernaturals
they hunt, but also of other supernatural hunters (though many
supernatural hunters often form groups for better survival
chances). To an extent, supernatural hunters have to be weary of
supernatural hunters they might come across, though most have to
learn when other supernatural hunters are enemies and when they
are allies, or else they could make unnecessary enemies. Of
course, this also works to counter when supernaturals use this
as a means to counter supernatural hunters, which is a tactic
that many supernatural hunters are seeing more and more of in
the current days.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Presence Suppression/Crowd
Blending: Most supernatural hunters have to learn how to blend
into crowds and learn to avoid suspicion in order to avoid being
discovered by others, specifically the supernaturals they are
hunting. Supernatural hunters often hide themselves when out and
about, since supernaturals can be anywhere especially after
supernaturals were revealed to the masses. While secrecy is not
a focus anymore, supernatural hunters still learn to blend into
crowds and learn to avoid suspicion from normal people, though
it's mostly to avoid supernatural attention. And because many
supernaturals also live in the open by learning to blend into
crowds, this even more important to avoid dangerous
supernaturals who might try to take them out if they are
discovered. As such, the ability to blend into a crowd is still
just as important for supernatural hunters as it is for
supernaturals. For the most part, supernatural hunters often
learn the best ways to avoid drawing attention to themselves in
crowds, learning methods to keep suspicion off them (usually by
using things like false identities or using specific clothes for
the area they are in). For example, some supernatural hunters
will have find ways to keep their weapons or supernatural
hunting items hidden while in public, often wearing casual
clothes or clothes to fit whatever area they're in (such as
wearing clothes common to the area they're in to avoid looking
out of place) that can allow them to not show anything they
might carry with them. Unlike supernaturals who usually have the
ability to suppress their presence, supernatural hunters often
rely less on abilities (though some supernatural hunters may
learn certain skills to help if they have the right training),
and most tend to rely more on creativity and finding the best
ways to not draw attention to oneself. Crowds can be very
useful, as supernatural hunters can hide in crowds and are
harder to detect by supernaturals since a large crowd makes it
difficult to single out specific presences. Supernatural
hunters, no matter how they're trained, use this to blend into
crowds whenever they can, as they often don't want to draw
attention to themselves, which has become quite important over
the years both to hide from the supernaturals they hunt.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Stealth and Infiltration:
Supernatural hunters can be very stealthy when they want to be,
or when they really need to be. This especially applies to those
that hide among humans, where they have to learn how to hide
among humans and how to not be noticed in large groups.
Depending on the hunter, many can be very stealthy when they're
not trying to draw attention to themselves, being very skilled
in avoiding encounters when they want to, or manipulating a
group to hide in so that they can avoid certain kinds of
attention depending on the hunter. There are usually two ways
hunters go about things. The first is the more supernatural way,
where the supernatural or supernatural hunter may kill all those
in their way, depending on their skill. The second is that they
usually sneak around and don't kill unless necessary.
Supernatural hunters who are human (or can pass for human),
and/or misdirecting those they may encounter can be very skilled
infiltrators, and even better when paired with any other
abilities (Depending on the abilities the user has). This has
made many hunters great at hiding in plain sight, and this can
be made even easier with those with assassin wavelength training
that can make themselves not easily noticed. Depending on the
person, some are smarter about this than others, and some may
even have specific abilities for this depending on the hunter,
such as some may utilize supernatural hunter spells to help them
(such as the Men of Letters have certain spells that can be used
by anyone that allow things like temporary presence
suppression). However, many hunters have had to learn this in
some aspect. The smarter supernaturals are, the better the
hunters have to be at hiding in crowds and the better they have
to be at infiltration. And this includes them often being able
to sneak into places that are guarded by supernaturals
(depending on their skill level), as their stealth is about more
than just groups, but also about infiltrating enemy groups. For
the most part, older and more experienced hunters usually
understand the importance of hiding from others, and some more
experienced hunters can even hide from supernaturals. However,
skilled enough trackers can still track down hunters based on
their skill level depending on the opponent.
- Murderous Intent Sense: This lets those with this sense when
an attack is coming, usually by being able to tell when someone
has the intent to kill. This is a skill most warriors get by
fighting constantly for many years, learning how to sense
someone's murderous intent usually through encountering it
first-hand enough that they start to develop a strange sense
that lets them read people and be able to tell when someone has
the intention to kill. This lets the user read their environment
as well as the people around them in order to see what attacks
might be coming their way by reading an opponent's body language
and the "sense" of people around them. This gives them a passive
sense of reading people who might try to hurt them, as they can
sense when someone is ready to attack, and most people can
usually sense when that murderous intent is aimed at them. Some
can sense this literally as an aura through things like ki
sense, but most sense it in an instinctive way once their
instincts have been developed through constant fighting and
battles. This gives the user time to predict an attack, and to
some extent, helps the person predict what opponents will do in
a fight by reading their murderous intent. For example, by
reading an opponent's body language, such as how they move or
how tense they might be, a user of this can read opponents
movements in order to predict how they will fight or attack, as
some have developed entire fighting styles predicting people
through this method, such as the Hiten Mitsurugi sword style
that uses this to predict opponents. However, this sense is not
perfect, and some opponents can't be read if they can disguise
their murderous intent or they learn skills that can trick
people with this sense. Those who have no ability to feel
emotions also don't give off this murderous intent, as those who
don't have emotions don't feel the intent to kill. This sense is
usually pretty reliable unless one can suppress their murderous
intent, and is usually instinctive among people who have seen a
lot of battle and those that have fought for their lives
multiple times. The only real way to develop this is experience,
as no amount of training can truly grasp how this sense truly
works as it is only a passive ability that one can pick up by
experiencing murderous intent firsthand from enough people that
they learn to recognize the murderous intent in the feelings
they get from people.
Passive Abilities:
- Chemical Enhancement: Resistant to Chemicals, sickneses and
Poisons: After John Wong was thrown into a vat of chemicals in
the Ace Chemical Plant (in his world), he was mutated and
disfigured by the chemicals. While he was disfigured and his
skin was permanently bleached white along with him having a
layer of scar tissue that covers most of his body, this actually
had a number of positive effects on him. This first effect has
mutated his body so that harmful chemicals and poisons no longer
are as effective on him as they would be on others. There are
many poisons and chemicals that don't hurt John Wong, and he is
able to breathe in harmful fumes without any negative side
effects as his body seems to be able to fight off dangerous
chemicals and poisons much more effectively as the result of his
body learning how to fight off the chemicals that mutated him to
keep him from becoming even more disfigured. John Wong's
resistance to chemicals and poisons is very high, and aside from
certain supernatural or acidic poisons, he has a tolerance that
surpasses even some supernaturals. In addition to his resistance
to chemicals, he also has a resistance to sicknesses as well, in
which he doesn't seem to get sick like most people do even if
the infection is something he's never experienced before. For
example, John Wong has sneezed out some poison gases he inhaled
that should have poisoned him, and has resisted paralytic
poisons in the past. It is theorized that John Wong's mutation
due to the chemicals strengthened his immune system, or possibly
changed his anatomy to make him resistant as a response to
trying to fight off the chemicals that disfigured him. However,
while this resistance makes John Wong hard to affect, but there
are limits to how far this goes. For the most part, he can
resist them, but he is not always immune to them. Some stronger
chemicals and poisons can still effect him, but it depends on
the poison and/or chemical. And in terms of sicknesses, there
are some sicknesses he may not be immune to, such as certain
strong virus or fungal infections. For the most part, John Wong
can develop near immunity to anything he's exposed to, but
cannot gain complete immunity to stronger poisons and chemicals.
Also, John Wong can still be affected by things like acid type
poisons, or other poisons that eat away the body.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Fast Healing: Whether human or
supernatural, anyone can train in combat. Many who train may not
have supernatural healing or other recovery skills that are
specific to some races. However, through physical focus and
training, combatants can learn to train their bodies to heal
more quickly, by training their bodies into peak physical
condition. Even among combatants with regenerative abilities,
combatants will often train their bodies up so that they heal as
quickly as possible. For example, a deep cut (as long as it
doesn't puncture an organ or other vital spot) could heal in a
few days (whereas most normal humans it would take months-years
to heal), or certain smaller injuries could heal in a matter of
hours. This utilizes peak human condition to train the bodies,
and is not actually supernatural regeneration. For those with
regeneration, it is still useful to train up one's natural
healing ability, as healing more quickly and effectively through
combat training reduces the amount of work a supernatural
regeneration would have to do (thus saving energy). However,
those without supernatural healing rely on this more because
this is their only real means of recovery. because this is
gained through simple combat training and not through
supernatural power, this particular faster healing is not
negated by things like varanium or other regeneration negation
abilities since this power is not any form of supernatural or
even tech based regeneration. While it is possible to enhance
healing with cybernetics and use nanobots produced by certain
companies to heal even faster for tech based regeneration in
many cases, it is still useful to learn this training. As one
might imagine though, this is only an enhanced normal human
healing, and doesn't use supernatural regeneration which means
that certain injuries cannot be healed naturally. For example, a
combatant who loses a limb cannot regrow a limb simply from
using this healing, and this normal healing cannot be used to
heal from fatal injuries without help from someone who can heal
them before they die. This means that users with this can still
be killed like normal if they are forced to only rely on this.
And those with supernatural regeneration still have the same
weaknesses as normal, such as regeneration negation. For John
Wong, he has faster than normal healing thanks to the chemicals
that mutated his body. While not supernatural level healing, he
can heal from most minor injuries within hours, and things like
broken bones or deep gashes may heal over the course of a day or
two (assuming he doesn't die in the process).
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Body Strengthening: This is
another peak combat training skill that comes with training
one's combat abilities. For combatants, most know that their
body is their most important weapon they have, and have to train
it to the best of their ability. Just like other combat training
skills, combatants train this skill up as they train in combat,
and can learn a number of ways to combat enemies. For the most
part, this skill usually involves training one's physical stats
to their peak, specifically strength, speed and agility. While
durability and defense are also trained, this training focuses
on strengthening the body's offensive skills, and training their
movement options and combat options to their peak. Those that
train in combat learn to build themselves up in strength, speed
and agility. Some even work on things like flexibility and
fluidity, so that they can move more easily. Typically, each
combatant has a different mix-up of stats, where the specific
stats are usually determined by a number of factors such as body
type, build, and even race the combatant is (different races may
have different physical capabilities, such as how werewolves may
focus more on agility and movement). This can be trained a
number of ways, but the best way one can train is to just keep
pushing themselves physically, and eventually train themselves
to the level that they want. Those that have this training can
reach higher levels of physical ability that those without
training can attain, and those that use this push their physical
combat abilities to their max ability. While this isn't strong
enough to push everyone into the highest levels of combat, this
does often help even humans train to levels that allow them to
at least try to keep up with some higher level opponents.
Typically, the training depends on the combatant and their
specific combat talents, but this is something that every
combatant can learn even if they are not a supernatural.
However, those that train this should know that this training
can be countered by opponents with higher stats, or opponents
with stats that counter theirs (such as using speed to counter
pure strength). Each combatant usually has specific
combinations, but each combination has some form of counter in
some way among other combatants. The chemicals that mutated John
Wong's body have made him stronger and made his body stronger as
result. John Wong has much stronger offense and defense skills
than most, and his physical combat training has intensified his
skills.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Enhanced Precision Body
Control/Movement: For almost any combatant whether they're human
or supernatural, few things are as frustrating as attacking an
enemy and not being able to be precise or not properly using
one's physical abilities. Any combatant that learns combat is
going to, at some point, have to learn precision movement and
control of their actions in order to utilize their combat
training to the best of their ability. In order to train this,
combatants build themselves up in learning to control their
movements, and train themselves to precisely control their body
and actions, usually through combat training. In this training,
a combatant learns to specifically move and put their force of
movement as fully into their attacks and movements as they can,
which is designed to allow them to focus on movement and control
during training so they can use precision control of their
bodies when fighting. Depending on the combatant, there are many
ways to do this, but most combatants train by learning to move
with precision in their basic training, only moving the exact
amount that they want to move. Upon learning to do this, they
not only gain specific movement abilities, but advanced trained
combatants often learn to better focus their physical strength
and abilities with their more efficient movement and control. At
first, combatants may not control their movements great, but as
they get more experienced, they eventually learn to control
their movement instinctively, as they eventually learn to do
this passively. Some can even use this training to more easily
move in battle, reducing the effects of things like friction or
air resistance as some learn to move more efficiently as they
train. This is a necessary skill that increases one's accuracy
in combat, and is a necessary skill for any combatant since all
combatants have to move effectively to be able to fight at all.
Those that aren't skilled in this may not be able to move as
effectively, and if they hesitate in battle, it can mean the
difference between life and death. With all the training John
Wong has, he has specific training to have precise combat
movements. The only time he has a problem with this is when he
starts thinking, as his style is more instinctive than
methodical.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Enhanced Durability and Defense:
Just like with other combatant training, combatant's also train
their body's physical durability and defense as a means to
protect themselves and make their bodies stronger. While
different combatants train in different ways, most train
specifically to push their durability and ability to take hits
to the limit of their potential, whether they are human or
supernatural. Many often have to train themselves up in some
way, depending on what they may have to face. Depending on the
combatant, they may have a number of methods to train up their
durability and defense. For example, more extreme combatants
cause constant damage and train the body to heal and recover
faster, or some may focus more on training through body
strengthening combat techniques. As some may know, the body can
strengthen itself as it gets hurt in order to adapt, such as how
bones will grow stronger after being broken, which is often
something combatants can take advantage of. This is made even
more effective among supernaturals who use this, because with
things like supernatural regeneration, this can be even more
effective since supernaturals recover faster. Some combatants
have become strong enough with this training to gain strong
enough durability that their body becomes hard to pierce as they
strengthen their bodies. Most combatants usually train up their
durability as much as they can so that they are ready to take on
many forms of threats, and thanks to this, many have to train
their defense and durability as a result to avoid being killed
by stronger opponents. Of course, as one might imagine, this
durability training doesn't prepare for every eventuality, such
as some stronger enemies can still overpower this training.
Overall, while many combatants can show that they are strong,
there are still many out there that can overpower and kill them.
With John Wong's mutation with the chemicals he was exposed to,
he has a stronger body than most, which makes him harder to
pierce than normal. It takes a bit more effort to hurt John
Wong, and his scar tissue from the disfigurement of his
chemicals makes it harder to hurt him as it acts like a
protective layer to prevent further disfigurement.
- Combat Affinity: Natural Combat Talents: Many combatants are
born with unique combat talents. Depending on the combatant,
many can have some form of natural combat talent (usually
depending on what they are and what skills they are born with).
This combat talent comes in a variety of forms depending on the
combatant and what natural talents they are born with. For
example, there are some who are born with supernatural combat
adaption where they develop a natural talent for subconsciously
adapting to supernatural combat. Some users could develop
natural talent for other things though, such as some who have an
instinctual combat sense that lets them instinctively recognize
threats and avoid danger (with such users usually having some
instinctual dodging ability). Among other natural talents
include users who may have natural talents for certain weapon
styles or skill-sets. As mentioned, this combat talent is
different for each combatant, and some may even have multiple
natural talents (though having more talents may result in less
of each talent). This isn't just limited to how to fight though,
as some even gain specific intelligence or reflex based talents
that might not always apply to combat. Depending on the
combatant and their talents, this comes in all shapes and sizes,
making it hard to list each case of this, but the results
usually blend together and most end up in the same result: Many
can be naturally talented in combat, and are not to be
underestimated. While no one is skilled enough to take out every
single threat out there, many with natural combat talent are
very skilled warriors one they figure out what their natural
talent is. Of course, natural talent can only go so far, so it
is important to note that the users should also train their
talents and don't just rely on the natural talent. This talent
can be overcome by some opponents, especially among those that
have natural talents of their own, or some that have no talent
can overcome a user's talents if they are skilled enough through
training or experience. Also, it is possible that some might be
born without natural talents and can only get stronger through
intense training to push beyond not having natural talent.
Typically, this type of combat talent grows stronger more
quickly when the user is younger, but levels out when the user
reaches older ages. This means that users usually have more
growth when they're younger when they're still learning, but
their growth slows down when they get older and their talent
comes more from experience at that point. John Wong doesn't have
the best natural talent, but he is more skilled than average
combatants. This is demonstrated when he developed his combat
switching style to switch randomly in his styles.
- Combat Affinity: Trained Combat Talents: Many combatants are
not just naturally talented, as mentioned before, as magic users
can also train their talents. Whether a user has natural talent
or not, it is usually important for any combatant to build up
their trained talent as well. There is something to be said for
experience in combat helping a warrior grow, and there is almost
no case where this is any different. Through training and
experience, combatants can build up their combat from the ground
up, to the point that many users will train for years to build
up their combat skills. Just like the natural combat talents,
this talent comes in a variety of forms, but the result is the
same: It is important for a combatant to train their combat to
the best of their ability, and train to gain the most of their
combat. Through training and experience, combatants can learn
different things about combat. Among some of the more common
trained combat talents are those that learn to adapt to
opponents through experience, such as those that were
experienced with fighting specific threats may tailor their
combat to fight those threats. And some combatants may even
learn to counter other opponents abilities through things like
strategic thinking or by utilizing certain combat abilities in
response to certain abilities in order to counter them. As time
goes on, combatants train themselves to use this more and more
easily, where they may even use this combat talent without
thinking. The more experience one gets, the better the talent
will become, no matter what trained combat talent the combatant
develops over the years and no matter how much or how little
natural talent the combatant has. Usually, the most common one
is learning to adapt to combat styles as a combatant learns
about more combat styles, or learning to adapt to certain combat
styles by studying how others fight. As one might imagine
though, this is something that also only goes so far depending
on user and their dedication to training. This kind of combat
talent starts out slow, but as the user trains, they gain more
ability to learn as time goes on. Of course, all combat talents
can be countered by stronger combat talents, or by opponents
that might have special training to counter combat talents
(usually through combat talents of their own). Typically, this
is a combat talent that starts out small, but grows over time,
in which this talent usually becomes stronger as a combatant
gets older and more experienced. This typically gets stronger as
the ability to adapt lessens as a combatant gets older, meaning
that older combatants rely more on experience and this trained
talent than on natural talent. This is more where John Wong
excels, since he was trained by the League of Guardians in his
universe. Due to his training, John Wong has been trained to the
peak of human condition and beyond (thanks to the chemicals that
disfigured and enhanced him).
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Intelligence:
There's an old saying that sometimes to train the body, you have
to train the mind. When it comes to combatants, this is
something that they instinctively often have to do to train
themselves to their peak physical condition. When a person
reaches their peak physical condition, they will also usually
train their minds in different ways depending on the person and
what they want to do. The first step is training one's
intelligence, in which combatants know that just because they're
about fighting, doesn't mean they should be stupid in the
process. Combatants usually train their intellect almost as much
as their bodies, and use their intellect depending on what they
want to do. For example, some combatants will start studying
different subjects. Whether it's someone wanting to learn how
elements work so they can learn to counter elemental powers, or
people learning about technology to learn more about how to use
tech, there are many ways that combatants utilize intelligence
in combat (much more than most would think). Combatants also
will often utilize this for enhanced intelligence when it comes
to strategical thinking, as combatants can use strategical
thinking in fights more easily than using random knowledge that
may or may not be useful in battle. And through physical
training, most combatants gain a higher IQ by maximizing their
body's abilities, in which the brain is able to operate more
effectively if the body is in peak condition and able to
maintain the brain more easily. It is known that those who are
more physically active have an easier time concentrating and
learning, and this is something that can help combatants a lot.
While not all combatants have supernatural level IQs, even
normal combatants gain some enhanced intelligence. What the
person does with this intelligence depends on the individual, so
there are many ways this could be shown in combatants. Some may
know how to counter abilities through studying them, some may
learn about the world and gain knowledge of the world, or some
may even simply just use their enhanced intelligence for
enhanced strategical thinking. However, depending on the person,
not everyone gains super high intelligence, and there is usually
a limit to what most people can learn. This doesn't take into
account people's affinities (where some people have affinities
for certain types of knowledge over others), so it is hard to
quantify everyone's intelligence and tell them how to use it
best. This also means that not everyone is going to have great
intelligence in every subject. John Wong is not the smartest,
but he is smarter than average.
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Reflexes: For
combatants, reflexes are a very big deal that they must train,
as without reflexes, they cannot survive battles. Part of this
training involves the combatant training their bodies and the
responses of their bodies. By doing this, they can train their
reflexes during their combat training which is the most
effective way to train their reflexes. In doing this, combatants
will train their minds ability to react, and as they get more
experience and training, this reflex training becomes more
instinctual to the point that master level combatants can
instinctively react to many forms of attacks without needing to
consciously think about it. For the most part, repetition and
keeping responses consistent is usually the best way to train
one's reflexes (for example, one cannot train themselves to
throw people who grab their shoulder and then just turn off that
reaction when a friend grabs their shoulder without trying to
retrain their reflexes). Thankfully, the mind's reflexes will
often grow with the combatant's physical abilities as they train
and fight, and they will often gain greater reflexes with more
training and experience. However, even with minimal experience,
those that train heavily to enhance their reflexes can gain
better reflexes depending on their training, and some combat
styles may rely more on this than others. For example, there are
instinctive combat styles that focus more on instinctual
movement, in which this particular training is not only
necessary, but needed to master in order to use the training
properly. As mentioned, reflexes are a necessity for battle, so
combatants must train them to the best of their ability. To an
extent, meditation and image training can also work for training
the mind, by helping the body focus on whatever the combatant
tries to focus on. This is necessary, as some fighters may learn
to move faster than their reflexes and senses can follow, which
might make them dangerous to themselves if they cannot keep up
with their own movements. This training also depends on the
person, and how skilled they get. When handling reflexes, it is
not just training, but experience that also determines how well
one's reflexes are. It is easy to train, but impossible to
master reflexive reactions, due to the fact that the changes in
the world, the body and the mind are always requiring the
combatant to adapt and train their reflexes in addition to their
bodies. John Wong has trained his reflexes to the best of their
ability, though his reflexes aren't always as great as other
combatants. Thankfully, his chemical enhanced body makes up for
any lack of reflexes.
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Memory: This is
another thing that most combatants train without really thinking
about it. One of the best ways to train up one's memory is to be
physically active, as increased blood flow to the brain is
usually a good way to increase one's memories. And as the
combatants train their minds, they can train their memory as
well. It is actually much harder to train one's memory than
training one's intelligence or reflexes, since far less of one's
memory ability is within their physical control. However, those
that do train their memory, usually start by training their
bodies to their peak capacity. The first step to training memory
is to maintain the body, in which the body will be able to use
the mind's max abilities. For the most part, training the body
does also train the memory, but this is more of a passive
training than a true physical training. And while it may not
seem likely, research has also shown that meditation also
improves memory as well. Combatants usually train their memory
just like the rest of their minds, by finding ways to train that
specific part of them. Often, repetition is good way to improve
memory, as the more one repeats something, the more likely one
will be to remember it. Again though, most of memory training is
passive training and just maintaining the body. Depending on the
creature, some have different memories than others. This doesn't
include things like photographic and eidetic memories, as those
are unique aspects that aren't something you can just learn.
Combatants can train the mind though, and those that do keep
their bodies in peak condition often find their memory improves
as well (though not nearly as much as reflexes and intelligence
does through training). For the most part though, aside from
self-care and some mental training through repetition and
meditation, memory is something that one can't easily train up
through conscious effort alone. As such, while combatants have
enhanced memory, some may not have memory as good as they might
want. For the most part, memory is difficult to train, so some
may see an increase, while others may not. It mostly depends
partially on genetics and partially on maintaining the body in
peak condition. John Wong has trained his mind, and has very
good memory. Though not as great as supernatural memory, he does
have a better memory than most normal people thanks to him being
in peak physical condition.
- Human Combatant Extended Life: When it comes to combatants,
those that survive their battles without too much injuries can
live extended lives. Combatants will often train themselves to
the peak of efficiency of whatever race they are (different
races have different lifespans). While supernaturals with
regenerative abilities or certain races that are meant to not
age past a certain point can live a very long time, most don't
think about how combat training helps even those without
physical training to live longer lives. By training the body,
there are those that can live extended lives if they keep
themselves in peak physical ability for as long as they can. For
example, most don't usually think about it, but there are people
that are 90 years old and can still do Olympic events better
than people half their age. By staying physically active, not
only is it healthier for the body, but those in peak condition
for longer will often avoid many cases of death more easily (for
example, those in peak condition have a harder time getting sick
than those in poor condition). And because combatants train to
their peaks (usually), they will often have longer lifespans
than those that do not train themselves. By training to the peak
of their abilities, the body will have an easier time recovering
by adapting to the constant physical exertion (to an extent),
and this will lead to those who train their bodies to being able
to keep their bodies in good physical condition for longer. Of
course, while this doesn't completely negate the possibility of
death by sickness, it does highly reduce the possibility. Keep
in mind that this is mostly for normal humans, as supernatural
extended lives are a different thing entirely. This is more
about those that don't have skills like supernatural
regeneration or other skills or modifications through tech or
genetic modification to give them longer lives. For the most
part, it is believed the higher end of the lifespan of humans is
about 120 years, and it is not really known if some humans could
live longer. When factoring in extended life, the type of
creature is very important, and the abilities they possess. And
of course, as mentioned, this doesn't discount certain things
that may kill people before they have lived out their lives,
such as sickness or just being murdered by an enemy. People who
fight others, or hunt supernaturals, or do things that put their
lives at risk usually rarely ever live to old age so it is
actually more likely combatants won't reach their full lifespan.
Due to the chemicals that enhanced John Wong's body, he doesn't
yet know that he will have a longer life span due to his body
healing much faster than normal people. While he won't live
forever, he will live for at least a few hundred years before
his body's healing starts to slow down.
- Human/ Non Supernatural Multi-Linguists/Language Learning:
Depending on the person, there are many that travel and must
learn another language for one reason or another. There are a
variety of reasons for this, such as supernatural hunters having
to travel to hunt down supernaturals, or some humans having to
travel because of jobs, or some that just have to learn to
interact with others who may speak different languages. Some
also may use written languages for other things, such as study
texts or older things that may require learning certain written
languages. No matter the reason, there are many humans or
non-supernaturals that learn different languages other than
their default language. There are a few ways to learn languages,
depending on the individual. The first is that one can learn a
language tree, where some language trees correspond more easily
to each other (for example, Spanish and Portuguese are in the
same language tree, and have a very similar language). This can
be easier to some since it is easier to learn a language, but
some find it difficult when so many parts of the language are
too similar. Another method is used among those that have
learned multiple languages, where they will pick up languages by
listening to others speaking it, such as one may listen to a
language and learn what the words mean as a means to understand
the language. Of course, the third is perhaps the more obvious
one where one can read and study to learn a language just like
other people do (which can come more easily to some that have
enhanced intelligence). This can be used to learn a number of
languages, and most have to learn multiple languages as a means
to communicate with others as their lives go on. There are
plenty of languages out there, with the main ones used in the
world often being well known languages like English, French,
Spanish, and some other languages like Chinese, Japanese,
Russian and Portuguese. This mostly depends on the individual
and the languages they need to learn. Depending on what they
learn, some languages are more useful than others. For example,
the only reason to learn dead languages (languages that aren't
spoken anymore and have no new words being added) is to study
ancient texts. This depends on the individual and what they want
or need to learn, and depends on their intelligence on what they
can retain. Thanks to his training in the League of Guardians,
John Wong knows a number of languages since he has traveled the
world, and learned from the League of Guardians extensive
knowledge. However, he doesn't know every language as well as
others might, since he can't always remember every language
perfectly due to him not always being fully knowledgeable (he
only has basic knowledge of most languages, so he cannot keep up
with some languages he doesn't know as well).
- Combatant Training Enhanced Normal Senses: As a result of
combatants training their body into peak condition, combatants
learn to focus and enhance their senses. Depending on the
combatant, some may have supernatural senses depending on their
abilities, but even normal human combatants can gain enhanced
senses. Through physical training and being in their peak
condition, combatants can learn not only to use their senses to
the max, but many can also learn through things like meditation
to learn how to focus their senses more easily. In doing so,
they are able to focus their senses in a way that lets them use
further enhanced senses. For example, in a way similar to how
someone who squints can focus their sight, combatants can learn
to focus their senses through mental and physical training to
get the most out of their senses. Every combatant has a
different balance of senses, so trying to predict the enhanced
senses is difficult since it is different for each person.
However, all combatants can learn to enhance their senses to
some degree through honing their physical and mental states.
While those like human combatants won't gain highly enhanced
senses akin to supernaturals, their senses do go beyond those of
normal human ability, such as a combatant with enhanced hearing
might be able hear at further distances than normal people, or
they might have better vision and adaptability in their vision
than others (such as adapting to dark/light transitions more
easily). As mentioned though, most combatants won't gain
supernatural senses through combat training again (but will if
they are a supernatural creature), so their senses won't get to
a high enough level that they can match supernatural senses (at
least, under normal circumstances). However, the one thing that
human level combatants don't have to worry about is that with
lesser enhanced senses than supernaturals, they are at far less
risk of having their senses overwhelmed since their senses
aren't as strong. However, there is still a risk, just as there
is a risk with anyone to having their senses overwhelmed. There
is also a limit to how strong normal human senses can become,
and this is usually also limited by the person's genetics
(meaning physically they may have weaker or stronger senses
depending on the person). And depending on the person, each
person's balance of senses is different, so that is another
thing that must be taken into account as well (meaning that
overwhelming senses make work differently depending on the
person). John Wong has slightly enhanced senses thanks to the
chemicals enhancing his body.
- Peak Combat Training: Enhanced Psychological State Training:
Those that train in combat not only have to train their bodies,
but they have to train their minds as well. Those with mental
training in combat learn to train their minds, with the first
step to training their psychological state. Depending on the
person and what race they are, this is something that is more
necessary than others. While many supernaturals may not be as
trained as a race like the Darkfires or Hazeldines, it is
important for almost all combatants to train their psychological
states. By training their psychological states, they can keep
their mental states firm and they can keep themselves from
diving to far from whatever they train themselves to be. For
example, those that want to remain a calm and collected fighter
will often focus on calming techniques or other meditation
training to train their minds so that their minds don't easily
suffer things like fear or anger. Others can also do things like
train their minds to certain emotional states, such as how those
that rely on anger and hatred may train themselves to maintain a
certain level of anger or hatred so they can maintain their
level of emotion. This is a skill most combatants must learn,
and they can learn to utilize this in different ways depending
on the state they want to attain. For the most part, this is
designed to allow combatants to more easily keep their composure
when under extreme stress, and this training helps them to be
less likely to fall into a psychological state that they may not
want to fall into. By training their psychological states,
normal combatants strengthen their mind and are able to maintain
their minds in their desired psychological states. However,
those supernaturals that train their minds may have more purpose
to do so, as some supernaturals have to train their minds in
order to control their supernatural abilities (as most
supernatural abilities may require some form of emotional state
and may react to the emotional state used). For the most part,
this is just a basic training, and is not able to always keep
the user from falling into unfavorable states, and depending on
the user, some may not have strong enough training to resist
certain psychological conditions depending on their situation.
This is where John Wong excels the most. he has always had a
strong will to fight evil in order to honor the memory of his
wife and child who were killed. John Wong has stayed strong
despite everything that has happened to him, and even
overpowered the insanity induced by the chemicals that should
have altered his mind. Where most would have gone mad, John Wong
was able to use his mental training to keep his sanity, even if
some of his insanity does show now and then through bad humor
and puns he tends to make.
- Peak Combat Training: Mental Conditioning/Combatant Will
Training: This is the second part of a combatant's mental
training. This part of mental training is specifically tuned to
training a mind to resist difficult conditions, where combatants
will try to train themselves to handle mental strain during
specific situations. Specifically, some may learn to strengthen
their will to resist things like psychic abilities, certain
supernatural abilities that effect emotions, or other things
that may cause immense stress on the mind. People who train in
this often learn to resist certain conditions through physical
training, and use this alongside their psychological state
training to push their minds to resist unfavorable conditions as
much as they can. This training is made most effective when a
user can train in hard mental conditions, such as if they can
train with a supernatural who can influence the mind. Another
popular method for those that cannot train with supernaturals is
to train in meditation while trying to avoid a particular
hazard. For example, some may balance on difficult objects while
meditating (with extreme training including things like
meditating while on a spike), or some may train their minds in
tough conditions such as living in a dangerous area and learning
to focus while also focusing on their survival. This is a
training that can be done a number of ways, and is a passive
skill that any combatant can learn to some extent. Some of the
most advanced trained combatants or supernatural trained users
of this may even be able to shut down certain aspects of their
mind at will, where some can learn to do things like shut down
their sense of pain through focus. This is another ability that
depends on one's training, with supernaturals often having
better training at this than humans (though humans can still
learn this just as well if they train hard enough). Typically,
this is something that can be overcome by stronger mental
abilities, where some can use things like stronger psychic
abilities or stronger emotional influences to try and influence
the mind of the combatant. This is not a perfect training, and
may not resist every unfavorable condition. This usually depends
on the combatant and their training. John Wong has a uniquely
strong will, and can even resist mental influence from things
like psychic powers. And thanks to what he went through after
chemicals altered his body and disfigured him, he still retains
his strong will. This has left John Wong with a very strong
mind, which is very difficult to affect after he was nearly
turned insane but overcame it with his willpower.
- Chemical Mutation Enhanced Agility and Peak Combat Training
Physical Abilities: Combatants, whether supernatural or human,
usually train their abilities to their peak as best they can (if
they don't train then they wouldn't have combat training at
all). For the most part, the specific training depends on the
person, whether it depends on their combat training, their
status as a human or supernatural, or even on just their
physical abilities. As one might guess, this is different
depending on the user, as everyone is built differently, and
different things like different races have different physical
abilities. Combatants often have specific trained abilities
depending on their physiology and abilities, in which they may
focus on specific stat training, or they may have a general stat
training to enhance all their stats. Because of this, it is hard
to quantify every combatant's physical and/or supernatural
enhancements. However, there are usually two levels of enhanced
stats. The first is that users gain special training towards
certain stats, which lets them specialize in a few stats to
train those stats to levels beyond normal supernaturals. The
other method is that one can train in a more general sense and
train up all of their stats for a more even stat boost. There
are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. The
specialized stats allow for much higher stats than other
supernaturals depending on the level of specialization, but the
downside is that other stats will often suffer as a result (IE a
speed and agility based training will often mean strength may
not be as well trained and won't be as enhanced). For those that
do the general training, this offers are more even stat
increase, but the stats aren't as increased as those with
specialized training. Those with specialized training tend to
focus more on their strengths, and often have to leave out their
weaker stats and find other ways around them. However, those
with generalized training often are much more balanced and have
a much easier time balancing all of their stats in combat. Most
combatants will often choose one of these two methods to train,
where they will train depending on their own preferences. This
makes each combatant unique in how they are attuned to combat.
Of course, as one might expect, combatants may still be overcome
by those with stronger stats, or some with experience may also
overwhelm the combatant's physical abilities (as there are some
things to be said for experience giving someone better ability
to counter enemies than just raw training). Opponents
experience, training, and abilities should all be taken into
account when it comes to whether or not they may be able to
overtake a combatant's own training. John Wong is at the peak of
human ability, and with his suit and weapons, he is able to keep
up with many kinds of supernaturals. However, he also has
enhanced physical abilities like faster healing, a stronger
body, and a more durable body thanks to the chemicals that
disfigured him.
Transformations:
- None
Weaknesses:
- What are you again?: Every supernatural hunter still has the
same weaknesses of whatever race they are. Supernatural hunter
training really doesn't grant much in the ways of changing what
someone is. The only way that people can change what they are is
if a supernatural hunter ends up becoming a supernatural
themselves somehow. For example, most supernatural hunters are
human, and the ones that are human still have human weaknesses.
For example, humans can be killed just as easily as they
normally would be able to. Even humans in peak condition are not
immortal, and can be killed. Supernaturals also still have their
own specific weaknesses. There are a few weaknesses many
creatures typically have that one can test if they are not sure
of what someone is. The first is the head. Most creatures will
die if you cut of their heads, with the only known exceptions
being creatures like angels and demons. Another think to test is
the heart, which can be a vital point for many types of
creatures. Of course, this only applies to those with an anatomy
similar to humans, so alien creatures may have different anatomy
with either hearts being in different places or having multiple
hearts, or creatures like dark spirits without hearts may not
have hearts to attack. This mostly depends on the person, and
any supernatural hunter is able to be killed by superior
opponents. No matter how great a combatant is, they can always
lose out to enemies and be killed by superior opponents. Another
thing to note is that many supernatural hunters may also be more
vulnerable to poisons and mental attacks, depending on the
supernatural hunter. Again, most supernatural hunters are
usually human, but there are supernaturals that become hunters
as well. For the most part, while some are easy to figure out
(such as normal humans are usually easier to figure out how to
kill) but some other types of creatures may not be so easy to
figure out (such as supernaturals who become hunters may not be
as easy to read). In the end, it just comes down to if the
opponent understands who and what they're fighting. John Wong is
a human, and can die just like any other human if one knows his
strengths and weaknesses.
- New to this? Well, you might die before long anyway: When it
comes to supernatural hunting, experience is the best teacher.
In order to learn how to fight, one has to actually fight.
Training is fine, and every supernatural hunter should be
trained, but if they don't gain experience they won't last long.
The problem is that gaining experience is very difficult in the
path of supernatural hunting. One often needs experience to
survive, so people new to supernatural hunting usually may or
may not last long depending on their skill in the field. There
is a cycle where supernatural hunters need experience to fight
supernaturals, but in order to get experience they have to fight
supernaturals. It is a bit of a paradox and makes it very hard
to train supernatural hunters, especially when it comes to
sending them into supernatural hunts. The only real way around
this is to pair inexperienced hunters with experienced hunters
and the experienced hunters step in when the situation gets too
dangerous for the inexperienced hunter. However, this isn't
always effective, as inexperienced hunters have actually also
gotten experienced hunters killed when they make mistakes or
freeze up during a battle. For the most part, it is very
difficult to gain experience as a supernatural hunter, as every
supernatural hunt risks the hunter's life, and each hunt usually
proves very difficult depending on the supernatural hunter.
While some may be naturally gifted, or some may be supernaturals
working as supernatural hunters, it is actually more common that
many supernatural hunters don't last long before being killed by
supernatural. Supernatural hunters gaining experience is usually
only if they survive long enough, and can plan and prepare well
enough to fight supernaturals. Supernatural hunting is not easy,
and can easily end with the death of the supernatural hunter.
Not even experienced supernatural hunters are always able to win
in every situation. This means that no matter one's experience,
they will always need more experience to keep up with their
supernatural hunting. John Wong is an experienced fighter thanks
to his training with the League of Guardians in his world, but
he can still be beaten, as he has been beaten a number of times
before in the past. John Wong has experience, but his skill
level is not as high as some might think.
- All alone, Eh? Sucks to be you: When it comes to supernatural
hunting, it is usually best to travel in groups. Because one
person can make mistakes, it is more likely for someone alone to
get killed than if they were with a group. While traveling alone
does remove the risk of being betrayed by others, traveling
alone is not always the best option. Those that travel alone
have far less chance of survival, due to the fact that one
person cannot plan for every contingency. One reason groups work
better is because each person can back up the other, and with
supernaturals, fighting them as a group often is a good way to
overwhelm them rather than one person trying to face one, one on
one. While it is possible, and some supernaturals who work as
supernatural hunters do that, facing supernaturals one on one is
usually hard for any supernatural hunter who isn't some kind of
supernatural creature or experienced enough to take on groups of
supernaturals. However, traveling in groups isn't always the
answer either. Because groups can be infiltrated by enemies, it
is possible for groups of people to be broken apart by people
who would betray the group, and there are always some people who
may turn against the group, willing or not. For the most part,
those that work alone are able to avoid these kinds of
situations, especially among those that have a tendency to get
betrayed more easily. Another risk of those that work in groups
is that those in the group may get lazy if they don't do enough
to fight the supernaturals. For example, if a group has one
person who never helps, that person may not ever get any better
at fighting supernaturals. For the most part, organizing one's
supernatural hunting is important, as well as decided whether or
not they want to work with others. There are disadvantages and
advantages to working alone, and also the same can be said about
working in groups. As such, supernatural hunters need to be
aware of these risks, as supernaturals will take advantage of
any disadvantages they can in order to kill hunters in order to
save their own lives. John Wong has teammates, but they are not
specifically trained supernatural hunters, so John Wong and his
teammates aren't always prepared for every situation. This means
they're not always as effective as good supernatural hunter
groups, and may get overwhelmed by certain high level opponents
or groups.
- Knowledge is power... Hope you don't get caught lacking: When
it comes to supernatural hunting, knowing as much as one can
about supernaturals is one of the few things that will save
their lives. It is not enough for one to just go out with a holy
weapon and try to cut down supernaturals like some kind of
Castlevania game protagonist. Those that do try to go out with
little to no preparation usually don't last very long as
supernatural hunters. For the most part, preparation and
learning are the only way to beat supernaturals. And while there
is plenty of lore and things that can be learned that can save a
supernatural hunter out on the hunt, not everything can be
learned by every supernatural hunter. No one can know everything
about every creature, which is usually why some supernatural
hunters tend to specialize in specific types of creatures. For
example, vampire hunters learn about vampires specifically and
hunt mostly vampires. There are advantages to specializing in
specific creatures, but there are also disadvantages. While it
is possible to learn far more about specific types of creatures
if one specializes in a creature, it also means that one is far
less prepared if they end up running into a different kind of
creature than the one they were expecting (for example, trying
to track down a werewolf and finding a demon prove dangerous to
the supernatural hunter). For the most part, the knowledge that
supernatural hunters can get can save their lives, and one has
no idea when something they learn may come in handy. For the
most part, this comes down to the supernatural hunter, and if
their knowledge is not up to the task, they may struggle against
creatures they are not prepared for. However, those that study a
much broader region may be more prepared for other creatures,
but may not be as prepared as those who specialize in specific
kinds of creatures. Depending on the supernatural hunter, every
supernatural hunter has to prepare in their own way, so each one
usually is different in that regard. Many have different levels
of knowledge, and the more knowledge they have, the more likely
they are to be able to come up with ways to beat supernaturals
in combat or find ways to counter them. However, if their
knowledge is lacking, they are far less likely to survive. And
no one can predict every single situation they will run into.
John Wong's knowledge is fairly average, and while he has had a
lot of training with the League of Guardians in his universe,
his knowledge is more general than most. He does know a lot
about robots and supernaturals, but he doesn't always know the
finer details of specific types of robots and supernaturals.
- Not what you expected, eh?: As mentioned before, supernatural
hunters are usually prepared for their battles. Many
supernatural hunters usually try to prepare as much as possible
before going into battles, and usually try to equip themselves
depending on what they're planning to fight. Preparation is a
key method of winning against supernaturals. While it is not as
necessary with supernaturals who become supernatural hunters,
humans almost always have to prepare. As mentioned, there are
different methods of studying supernaturals and learning how to
fight and kill them (in that one can specialize in one type, or
one can learn a more general knowledge of supernaturals).
However, a danger to all supernatural hunters is if they expect
to face a specific supernatural and then find they are fighting
something they weren't prepared for. This is a problem very
dangerous to those that specialize in specific types of
supernaturals, in that they may be completely unprepared for
finding a supernatural other than the type they specialize in.
However, don't think this is only a problem for those that
specialize, because even those that have a general knowledge of
all supernaturals can be thrown off by a supernatural creature
they're hunting not being what they expected. For example, if
one were to expect a vampire and then suddenly find themselves
face to face with a werepyre, they may not be as prepared to
face a werepyre as they would a vampire. For the most part, if
supernatural hunters get it wrong what creature they are facing,
it can be a very dangerous situation for them. Depending on the
level of mistake (which may or may not be the supernatural
hunter's fault depending on the situation), encountering a
different kind of supernatural can often lead to a supernatural
hunter getting killed if they aren't prepared enough to take on
a supernatural. For example, if one tries to face down what they
think is a demon, only to find it's a werewolf, a supernatural
hunter's demon traps they set up in preparation would end up
being completely useless. In these cases, the only way for the
supernatural hunter to save their own lives is to either have
backup, be well enough equipped that they have weapons to take
on whatever they end up really fighting, or retreating and
coming back with more preparation. While John Wong is a skilled
fighter, he isn't always prepared for every kind of threat.
Since he tends to favor non-lethal means of taking down enemies,
he tends to hold back and not use lethal weapons. Because of
this, he does lose battles because he refuses to go far enough
to try to kill his opponents.
- If they can see through your tricks, you're probably going to
die: Supernaturals are getting smarter and smarter. While it is
very necessary to be prepared against supernatural hunters,
supernaturals are also preparing for when they face hunters.
Almost any supernatural is going to prepare in some way for
facing hunters. As such, this means that supernatural hunters
have to be ready and learn how to counter supernatural traps.
These days, supernaturals are learning more and more of the
supernatural hunter tricks that are used to track them down and
kill them, and developing ways to counter those methods. As
such, supernatural hunters must also evolve and continue finding
new ways to take out supernaturals as a result. The battle to
constantly evolve strategies is a necessary part of supernatural
hunting, as supernaturals are also evolving. Some supernaturals
have even gone so far as to be trained as supernatural hunters
themselves, learning the tricks of the trade directly so they
can learn to counter supernatural hunters. When it comes to
supernatural hunting, creativity is the only way that
supernatural hunters can come up with new ways to counter
supernaturals as they learn more tricks of the trade. Only by
creatively coming up with new ways to counter supernaturals will
supernatural hunters succeed in taking out supernaturals, since
both sides are constantly seeking to one-up the other. If a
supernatural hunter cannot adapt and try new strategies, the
chances are that they are not going to last very long. Smarter
supernaturals are even often traveling in groups to just
straight up overpower hunters, which makes them even harder to
hunt. For the most part, preparation is still the key to beating
supernaturals, but overall, one must also be creative and
adaptive to their situations, as supernatural hunters will
eventually find supernaturals who know how supernatural hunters
act and how they track supernaturals. Once supernaturals have
figured that out, many can even ambush and kill supernatural
hunters if they predict the supernatural hunter's methods. For
John Wong, he is mostly a stealth type opponent who prefers
silent take-downs. If an opponent figures this out, they can
often figure out how John Wong handles some of his fights. While
John Wong is a skilled fighter, supernaturals can figure him out
if they are observant enough. John Wong may be hard to predict
in combat, but he's not as hard to predict when it comes to
predicting how he handles situations since he is a tactician
(though he may not seem like it at times).
- Why don't you die when you're killed?!: There are some
creatures in the multiverse that no amount of preparation is
going to help against. While it is possible to take out most
normal creatures with enough preparation and experience, there
are some creatures that just defy the natural laws. For example,
primordial creatures are often much more difficult to kill than
normal creatures, as many have some form of immortality that
makes them near impossible to kill. For example, the deities of
the Shadow Realm like Xeles, Toranoraos, Death and Phantom are
pretty much impossible to kill, as is the deity of the Spirit
Realm, Orion. Depending on the creature, there are some that
supernatural hunters must stay away from, because no amount of
preparation will not stop them. There are also other primordial
creatures who cannot be killed except under specific conditions,
such as the daemons. While it may be possible to temporarily
trap certain creatures with the right preparation, some cannot
be killed by normal means. Among some other creatures that
cannot be killed by normal means include creatures like the
The'Galin, who outright don't obey the natural laws, and they
are not creatures of life or death. Another thing to note are
creatures of Malice and Saskia's realm of the Void. Many of
these creatures go back to the void when they die, and some can
be summoned again to the world of the living depending on the
creature (meaning they don't truly die). Dark spirits are
another creature to be aware of, as dark spirits are very
difficult to kill. Dark spirits often require special
supernatural hunting techniques to take out, or special
abilities to attack the spiritual in order to stop them. While
dark spirits are easier to take out than some higher level
creatures since they can be overcome with the right preparation,
they are still very a very difficult creature to account for,
especially since there are many dark spirits that replicate the
abilities of other supernaturals. For example, if a supernatural
hunter goes after a demon succubus only to find it is a dark
spirit succubus, their attempts to destroy it with anti-demon
means would not work. In the end, there are creatures in the
world that supernatural hunters have to just walk away from and
accept that they cannot win or kill them, and the best they can
do is delay them or inconvenience them at best. John Wong is
usually very careful about picking his battles, and he would do
his best to avoid picking battles he and his group cannot win.
The only way he would pick a losing battle is if it were to save
people and there was no other choice.
Personality:
- Normal Personality: John Wong is someone who has lived through
some very dark times. With the things that have happened to him,
it's hard to believe he can be cheerful and upbeat. However,
John Wong tries to be as good as he can. After losing his wife
and child, he was hit with depression. And after fighting the
ones who killed his family and losing, he was pushed to the
brink of insanity. However, he has maintained his sanity despite
everything, and still keeps a hold of his willpower. His
willpower is always his strongest trait, because he's had to
overcome some hard situations in order to keep fighting. John
Wong is typically very cheery and tries to be as optimistic as
possible. He is usually the type to joke around and make puns in
order to cope, which is believed to be results of him nearly
losing his sanity after chemicals disfigured him. John Wong
almost seems like he doesn't take things seriously most of the
time, due to him always having bad humor to throw around. John
Wong is the type of person who will seek to see the best in
others, and tries his best to be the best example to others that
he can be. In order to honor his wife and child, he tries to
become a hero that they would be proud of, and seeks to do as
much good in the world as he can. Despite what people might
think about him, he's actually very smart, and a very good
fighter, which is why he led a team of heroes in his world to
fight the evil forces of Darkfire Technologies (led by his
world's Kindron Darkfire). Though not the smartest, people very
often underestimate his intelligence due to him seeming to not
take things seriously.
- In Battle: When it comes to battles, John Wong is very
meticulous in his planning. He always has a plan, as well as
backup plans, when he goes into battle. John Wong is a
tactician, even though he doesn't seem like it due to it always
seeming like he is trying to make a joke out of everything
(which is something he takes advantage of). John Wong is very
manipulative in battle, and is very good at getting opponents to
underestimate him, and uses humor to anger his opponents into
making mistakes when fighting him. When they do, John Wong
always has a plan that usually turns the tables on his enemies.
When it comes to his combat abilities, John Wong is also a very
versatile and adaptable combatant thanks to his training. He can
strategize, but he is also good at improvising as well. He may
not be as smart as some higher level intelligent combatants, but
he is much smarter than most people give him credit for. And due
to his humor and the chemicals that affected his mind, he is
much harder to predict than most people think, due to him having
taken advantage of his mutation.
Bio: This version of John Wong was born in a world much like
London's universe. However, it was more of a reverse of London.
In this version of London's universe, the Darkfire Family rose
to power through two major aspects: Kindron's Darkfire
Technologies company, and Kendrix's Black Sun criminal
organization. In this world, Kindron and Hei were twin brothers
with Kendrix being the younger brother. The Darkfires were also
a version of the human Darkfires (similar to the ones from the
30XX universe). In addition, the Hellsing family was a criminal
family who was seeking to take over the world similar to the
Sabbat in the London universe, and the family was also
protecting supernaturals from supernatural hunters. The Hellsing
family was led by the vampire, Integra Hellsing, who ran the
organization and hunted down supernatural hunters to protect the
supernatural population. Their criminal connections made them a
dangerous threat, and they even had other vampire families
joining them to take down threats to the supernatural hunters.
The last noteworthy group was the Tolodora/Asgard alliance, led
by Zelpharia Tolodora. This group was composed of the aliens
known as the Asgard and the Celestians, who worked with Darkfire
Technologies to control space travel.
John Wong grew up in a world where Darkfire Technologies had
just taken over, by selling technology to countries until most
of the world had become reliant on their tech. After that had
happened, the company became a major political power due to the
fact that they could use their technology sales to their
advantage. When someone went against them, the company would cut
off the technology they became so reliant on, and force them to
comply. And with Black Sun also taking over the criminal world
so that they could control the world, the Darkfire Family
eventually took over the planet by the time John Wong had grown
up.
John Wong had tried to live his life peacefully, even having a
wife and child. However, when his city tried to rebel against
Kindron's control, Kindron fought back. During the battle, John
Wong's wife and child were killed, and John Wong was the only
one left alive. However, rather than giving himself to revenge,
he vowed to bring Kindron Darkfire to justice for his crimes and
dismantle the Darkfire's criminal organizations.
John Wong eventually went to train with the League of Guardians,
his world's version of the League of Assassins. The League of
Guardians was a group that guarded and tried to prevent world
takeovers, usually through acting as secret guardians of the
nations and their governments. Their job was to prevent people
from taking over other countries, and trying to prevent wars
when possible with their worldwide network and resources.
After joining the group, John Wong was trained by the League of
Guardians, up until the League of Guardians was taken out by
Black Sun during a battle in Nanda Parbat. After this, John Wong
started his own group of heroes in order to take out Darkfire
Technologies and their allies. John Wong headed his own battles
against Kindron Darkfire and his allies in order to capture them
and make them face judgement for the crimes they had committed
worldwide. John Wong took up the hero identity of Red Hood in
order to protect his identity and the identity of his friends.
However, John Wong would eventually be tracked to his hideout in
the Ace Chemical Plant, where Kindron Darkfire would defeat him
and his allies. Kindron, rather than killing John Wong directly,
threw him into a vat of chemicals, assuming that the chemicals
would kill him. However, John Wong survived, even though he was
disfigured as a result. With his skin permanently bleached white
and much of his body covered in scar tissue from the chemicals
affecting his skin, he almost lost his sanity from how bleak his
situation had become. But John Wong continued fighting, and kept
his sanity in order to continue the fight against the Darkfires
and their allies.
Eventually, though, an accident during weapons research would
spell disaster for John Wong's universe as a tech weapon sent
out waves that caused the collapse of their universe. As their
universe started imploding, John Wong created a device called a
phase oscillator in order to escape to another world (a project
he was already working on to go to another world to find help
against Darkfire Technologies), and used it. Him and a few of
his allies were able to escape his world, and have now found
themselves in London.
