Our story today takes place in yet another alternate universe,
in the year 2087. In this universe, supernaturals and humans
live together in harmony... However, while they live in harmony,
there is always a threat to the peace. And in this universe is
no different.
In this world, a dangerous mutation has overtaken humanity's
civilizations, and forced humanity into hiding at the hands of
the mutated humans and supernaturals that have suffered the
effects of this mutation. Many humans became infected with a
strange disease, which mutated them into strange beings that
were termed "ghouls." While there are many variations in the
multiverse of ghouls with many different versions in many
different universes, this is one universe that is very different
from others.
In this universe, ghouls come about when a bacteria enters the
body, which is a supernatural bacteria that is infused with
vampiric DNA that is theorized to have originated from an undead
type vampire. Once in the body, the body starts to change, and
the person's blood changes to a shade of dark green. Once this
happens, the person also grows claws infected with the bacteria,
and they gain amplified abilities. When affecting humans and
supernaturals, any abilities they have are amplified, as well as
some gaining new abilities depending on the ghoul that infected
them. This has made many ghouls very difficult to fight,
especially considering that the ghouls usually have human level
intelligence (though many lose the ability to comprehend certain
things, like many not understanding how technology works.
However, the most dangerous thing about ghouls is not their
strength (even though their abilities can be terrifying), but
rather their ability to infect others with only one scratch of
their claws that causes the person to eventually become a ghoul.
These cuts from a ghoul's claws are obvious on the person, as
the claw marks are green instead of red as the blood coming from
the wound is infected and mutated with the ghoul disease.
Once infected, the main problem with the ghoul change is that
once infected, the person's brain chemistry is changed as well.
Most people change once becoming ghouls, with many often only
caring about finding people to devour. And once infected, the
person who is infected becomes a servant of the one who infected
them. However, if the one who turns a ghoul is killed, the
person can gain their freedom, even though their brain chemistry
is still permanently altered. There are ghouls of all kinds,
with some only interested in eating humans, some scheming their
own methods of fighting humans. However, ghouls currently seem
to operate on their own, and few ghouls have ever been seen
working together.
Because all it takes is one scratch of their claws to infect
someone, and there is no cure for the ghoul disease, humans live
in constant fear. Humans currently live in secret, living in
city sized facilities that usually go underground (most of which
were built in the early days of the ghoul disease). These
communities are very selective about who they allow into their
midst. These facilities not only have a strict guard that watch
for any signs of anyone infected, but also have intense cleaning
and screening procedures to prevent those with the ghoul disease
from getting in.
There are strict rules in place for these facilities, and should
someone not live up to those rules, they are exiled from the
facility to live in the world outside of the facilities. Every
person is expected to contribute to the betterment of the city,
and there are regular screenings to make sure no one has become
infected by the disease. Due to the facilities all being indoors
with no windows, entry points are controlled to only three ways
in or out, with two being emergency entrances or exits only to
be used in case the main entrance is compromised. Anyone who
enters must be screened, which usually involves checking for
wounds, and those coming in must be lightly cut to make sure
their blood is not green like the ghouls, as well as checking to
make sure the person coming in doesn't have claws (though recent
ghouls have learned to retract their claws when they don't use
them so they can blend in among humans). Anyone who has green
blood, or a green cut is instantly treated as a ghoul and
usually must be killed in order to prevent the ghoul from
infecting the facilities people.
Those that do not live in the facilities are known as Exiles,
and are not welcome in the facilities where humans safely live
unless they pass screening tests and have something major to
contribute. Many Exiles live in the worst conditions, and many
often are killed by either animals or by ghouls. Without any
real communities outside of the communities, every person that
is out in the wild must survive on their own.
Within the facilities, there are groups that venture out into
Exile territory and hunt down dangerous Exiles as well as
hunting down ghouls that get too close to the facilities. Ghoul
and Exile hunters are one of the most dangerous jobs in these
facilities, and comes with the risk of becoming a ghoul if
exposed to the ghoul disease.
Should a ghoul be discovered, or someone changing into a ghoul
(which is most common among those that are brought back from
hunting Exiles or ghouls), there is a special room where the
person is restrained. Once in this room, the guards hammer
stakes into the ghoul's hands and feet, crucifying them to the
wall. Once done, stakes are then hammered into the ghoul's heart
and neck. The hands and feet being restrained is due prevent
claw scratches as they kill the ghoul. The heart stake is
designed to destroy the heart of the ghoul which is as necessary
for them as it is for humans. The next is to stake the ghoul's
neck, which is designed to sever their spinal cord to the lower
half of their body. Because ghouls don't have any kind of
regeneration (usually), ghouls who are speared through the heart
and neck usually die very quickly. When this procedure is done,
people come to watch through the large glass window from the
observation room, mostly out of respect for the people who were
infected, so they can say a prayer.
Today's story takes place in the city of Olympus follows the top
ghoul hunter, Kindron Darkfire. Kindron Darkfire has hunted
ghouls for years, and hunted down dangerous Exiles who threaten
the facility he lives in. He is currently the top ranked hunter,
and is very experienced.
However, Kindron Darkfire is not only hunting ghouls because
it's his job, but he is looking for his younger brother, Zakai
Darkfire, who went missing during a mission hunting down an
Exile who supposedly had information on another facility.
Kindron and Zakai, up to that point, had been travelling
together, and were the top ranked Ghoul hunter duo the facility
had. It is believed that Zakai is dead, but Kindron Darkfire has
never given up on searching for him. Kindron and Zakai were both
ki users, who had powerful energy abilities, as well as having
some unique ki abilities that they had developed over the years.
Thankfully, Kindron's ki defense often came in handy against
ghouls, where he was able to use ki to protect himself from
their attacks.
Also in this story are the second ranked duo, Val and Vera
Trinestia. These two girls are magicians who utilize magic in
their combat against ghouls. While powerful, the two had a
harder time fighting ghouls, since they had to work together.
Since one would be defense, and one would be offense, the two
would make a good team, even if they weren't as powerful as
Kindron was. They would often try to sabotage Kindron's position
as a hunter, trying to get him fired so that they could be
ranked number one. They would often be disrespectful as possible
towards him, though they did have limits on what they would say
and do in response to Kindron.
The people live in fear of the ghoul disease, and no one knows
what the future holds. The current curator (leader) of the
facility has tried to keep strict rules in place, and the rate
of exiling has grown over the last few years, but no one has
challenged the leadership of the facility. All that is known is
that some people have been exiled despite not doing anything
wrong, and those that go against the leadership have often found
themselves exiled for fake crimes, or finding their jobs "no
longer necessary" as told by the leadership.
The facility has reached an all time low on their moral, and the
people have no idea what to do about their problem with the
leadership, but stay quiet in fear of the leadership's response
to them.

Val: Yeah... It's true. We heard an Exile saw someone matching
your brother's description in Vermillion forest during our last
mission.
Vera: Yeah, don't worry, we want to remain anonymous, so you can
take credit for the rescue if it is him. Just don't tell anyone
we gave you the info.
Kindron, getting a very distant look as though his emotions had
shut down, looks to the two. He had been through this so many
times with people who said his brother had been seen, that he
didn't get his hopes up. Since no one travels alone, I'm going
to have to build a team... He says, thinking. He then stays
silent for a moment before walking away.
Once Kindron was safely out of site, Val and Vera high five each
other, having successfully deceived Kindron.
Val: We did it!
Vera: Yeah! He'll probably wander the forest for quite a while!
That will teach that arrogant jerk to be a high ranked jacka*s!
Val then has a thought and puts her hand down. Val: It's not
dangerous in those woods, is it?
Vera thinks for a minute, putting her hand down as well. Vera:
Of course not. The worst thing in that area is cougars, and even
we can handle that.
Val: You realize he will be upset when he gets back though
right?
Vera: He won't know there was no Exile out there! Exiles also
tend to move from place to place. They wouldn't be in the same
place twice, and I'm sure Kindron knows that.
Val and Vera then go off to do something else, proud of
themselves for their prank on Kindron. They knew Kindron
wouldn't get into trouble if he cleared the mission with the
Curator, who was in charge and usually let Kindron investigate
anything related to Zakai Darkfire. They mostly just saw it as a
chance to get Kindron away from the base for a while so that
they would have their pick of any missions that came up while
Kindron was gone.
Later.
Kindron had traveled the Vermillion forest for quite some time,
and after an incident, barely made it back to the compound.
After losing 3 men of his team, and barely avoiding some of the
claw attacks of the ghoul they encountered, Kindron and his team
begin their screening to test and make sure they hadn't been
infected.
Guard: Kindron, remove your coat please. He says, noticing the
scratch marks on the coat that seemed to have cut into the
fabric. Thankfully, Kindron wore his leather coat specifically
for this reason, so that ghouls would have a hard time actually
getting through his coat. However, his demeanor changes when the
guards look at his neck and get a look of horror.
Kindron: What? Do I have something on my nec-? He says, but then
stops as he realizes what the guards were reacting to. Kindron
had reached his fingers to his neck, but then realizes something
was on his hand even though he couldn't feel anything on his
neck. He notices the green blood on his fingers from where he
felt his neck, realizing there was a wound there he couldn't
feel, and one that he wasn't expecting. Of course, Kindron knew
what the green blood from his wound meant.
Kindron's expression changes to one of surprise and a bit of
sadness. Kindron: Oh... Well, that's unfortunate. He says sadly
right before the guards grab him and take him to contain him.
It didn't take long before the guards took Kindron to the room
where they would stick stakes into his hands to pin him to the
wall. At this point, Kindron was losing feeling in his body, so
he barely felt the stakes in his hands.
As people arrive behind the glass to watch Kindron being killed,
the Curator comes into the room to Kindron.
Kindron: Well... It's unusual for you to come to these. He says
to the Curator.
Curator: I am regretful we are losing our best hunter. I wanted
to come and personally see if you had any last requests. After
everything you've done for us, it seems only fitting we do
something for you.
Kindron sighs and looks at the Curator. Kindron: I could use a
hug. I'm a bit scared... I don't want to turn into a ghoul. He
says. Though almost cold in his tone, it was obvious Kindron
meant what he said about being afraid.
Curator: Well... I don't see why not. You can't claw me as you
are now. He says, noticing Kindron being unable to move his
hands.
The Curator goes to Kindron and gives him a hug.
However, Kindron takes the opportunity to bite the Curator's
neck as hard as he could, biting off some skin from the Curator.
The Curator moves back, covering his neck. However, he didn't
cover his neck before people noticed that the Curator's blood
was green and still coming down the Curator's neck. The Curator
looks at Kindron in shock and anger.
Kindron then starts laughing. Kindron: Wow... I just thought you
were a dick. I didn't think you were a ghoul on top of that!
Man, I can't believe you fell for that! He says while laughing.
Curator: Damn you, Kindron! He says angrily. You just had to do
one last defiant thing, huh?! He says as he looks to Kindron
with anger. As the door opens and the guards come in to kill the
Curator for being a ghoul, the Curator grabs a stake and sticks
it through Kindron's heart before the guards manage to cut off
the Curator's head with the machetes they were wielding.
One of the guards notices Kindron still alive, coughing blood
that was partially green, and sticks the other stake into
Kindron's neck, causing Kindron to fall unconscious, appearing
dead.
On the other side of the glass, the people look with shock and
horror at the fact that both their leader and Kindron were now
gone. In the back though, Vera and Val had been watching with
mortified looks. After the guards lock the room and shut off the
lights where Kindron was now staked against the wall, Vera and
Val leave and go back to their room, almost ready to cry.
Val: I can't believe it... How... How did it come to this? She
says with a shaky voice.
Vera: It wasn't supposed to be like this. Kindron... How could
we predict something like this? She says, trying to justify the
fact that they were the reason Kindron had gone out and gotten
infected.
Val and Vera lay in their beds, thinking about how they had
screwed up, and how they could try to fix things.
Meanwhile...
Kindron remained pinned to the wall. However, after everyone had
left, and Kindron was sure he was alone, he uses his ki
telekinesis on the stakes that were still in his hands, chest
and neck. He eventually removes them, and frees himself.
Darkness warps around him as Kindron's body uses dark energy to
regenerate.
However, Kindron's blood was now completely green, signifying
his full change into a ghoul. He looks at his hands, as he
releases his claws and looks at his reflection in the glass to
study his new appearance.
Using his ki technique Dark Distortion, he warps to the other
side of the door, leaving the door closed to draw less
suspicion. He then uses his ki to shield himself and turn
invisible before he comes out of his distortion to avoid the
cameras seeing him.
He chuckles to himself. Kindron: Wow... This feels so good.
Ghoul amplification really made my ki techniques require almost
no ki to use. He says, marveling at how his ki techniques were
almost effortless and cost him almost no energy at all to use,
which meant he'd be able to use his ki techniques indefinitely.
Kindron keeps his ki up around him to keep him invisible as he
thinks on what to do next.
Kindron: Thinking to himself. Well... I'm a ghoul now. And I
know my brain has shifted. The question is what do I do now. I
could escape from here... But what do I do after that? He thinks
as he walks down the hallway, still using his invisibility
technique to keep himself hidden.
He looks up at the residential area, and has an idea, which
causes him to get an almost evil smile. Kindron: If I'm gonna
survive... I can't go fighting alone like the other ghouls or
I'll be dead in a week. I'm gonna need a group. Maybe some
servants. Or... Kindron gets another idea. That's it! I'll build
a ghoul group in the outskirts. Recruit some of the Exiles out
there. A lot of them fight to survive.
Kindron stops as he walks by a guard walking the hallways and
watching for signs of trouble. The guard was on the night watch,
in which the night watch was to make sure no one left their
rooms and that nothing suspicious happened.
Kindron then walks into the industrial area. He walks up to the
second floor, being careful to keep his invisibility and being
careful to not make too much sound for fear of the guards
hearing him walking around.
Kindron clearly had a destination in mind as he makes his way to
a specific room.
Kindron goes into the room, being as quiet as possible (and
making sure the guards weren't seeing the door open).
As Kindron walks inside, he sees Val and Vera, both sleeping on
their respective beds..
Kindron smiles and deactivates his invisibility. Since Val and
Vera were asleep, they didn't know he was in the room as Kindron
uses his telekinesis to affect the sheets and blankets to wrap
up Vera and Val and lift them up. Kindron's ki was keeping them
from moving, and keeping them oriented, so they hadn't been
stirred enough to wake up.
Kindron goes over to Val and Vera, ready to put his plan into
action. He successfully does what he came to do, in which he had
used his claws to claw Val and Vera's wrists, and then covered
them up with the sheets. However, after a minute, he hears the
door open and sees a guard.
Kindron: Crap... No one was supposed to be on this floor for 30
minutes! He says angrily.
Guard: SECURITY BREACH! He says as he goes to attack Kindron.
Kindron reaches to the bed-stand, grabbing a pencil as the guard
goes to attack Kindron. However, Kindron stabs the guard in the
throat. Kindron smiles as the guard bleeds, and stabs him again
and again, until the guard falls to the ground dead, bleeding
all over the floor.
At this point, Val and Vera had woken up from the commotion, and
were about to scream when Kindron gives a simple "shhh" motion.
Kindron: Scream... And you'll both lose limbs. He says to them
sternly, keeping them wrapped up in the sheets.
Kindron then gets behind the wall beside the door, and another
guard comes in.
However, this time Kindron was ready, and Kindron grabs the guy
from behind and snaps his neck. Kindron smiles, enjoying his
kills before throwing the dead guard to the side.
He checks outside, making sure no other guards were around. He
then closes the door, and walks over to Val and Vera, who were
now looking at Kindron with extreme fear.
Kindron: Man... That felt good. I never felt that good killing
people before. Guess that's a ghoul's personality change for ya.
He says jokingly as he admires his work killing the guards
before turning to Val and Vera, who were trying to free
themselves.
Val: Kindron... You're a full ghoul now? She says shakily.
Kindron: I am, yes. Thanks to you two. He whispers, trying to
stay silent before turning to them with a blank, cold look. Tell
me, were your lies just fun and games? Or did you really mean to
get me out of your way with a ghoul attack? He says to them.
Val and Vera hesitate a moment.
Val: Kindron... We're sorry! There was supposed to be nothing
dangerous in that forest. You were just supposed to wander
around a little while and then come back! Honest! She says
desperately, trying to stay quiet so Kindron wouldn't hurt them
or worse.
Kindron smiles again. Kindron: Is that so? Kindron smiles.
Kindron: Well... The joke was on me I guess then. But this time,
I guess it's funny that you get karmic justice.
Vera: What are you talking about? She says to Kindron.
Kindron: I got crucified by the Curator's people, and now you're
pinned up to the wall like I was. He says, pointing to how he
had them wrapped up in their sheets, which were still under
Kindron's telekinetic ki control. Kindron then shrugs. Funny how
the Curator was a ghoul. I definitely didn't expect that. Guess
that makes sense now why they never made any real progress with
a cure for the ghoul disease.
Val: Kindron... Don't kill us. Please! We're sorry! She says
desperately. She was clearly the more fearful one, as Vera was
still trying to figure out how to get out of the situation.
Kindron: Oh... I'm not planning to kill either of you. He says
with a smile. I got big plans, and ironically, you two are
important parts of those plans.
Vera: Plans? She says, worried about where Kindron was going
with his ideas.
Kindron: Of course. I'm gonna need pawns. He says with a smile
as he turns and goes toward the door, looking out to make sure
no guards were coming.
Val: Please... Don't... Don't turn us into ghouls! She says,
figuring out what Kindron was planning to do.
Kindron chuckles to himself so he wouldn't laugh too loudly,
then points to Val and Vera's arms. Kindron: You're already in
the process of turning. You'd understand you'd see if you could
see your wrists. He says with a sinister tone. I did it before
those guards came in. If it's like when I turned, I couldn't
feel the claw mark. So you probably didn't feel the cuts either.
Val and Vera both look at the sheets around their wrists,
realizing that even though they couldn't feel it, there was a
green tint to the sheets around their wrists, where green blood
had soaked into the sheets.
Vera and Val's hearts sink as they notice.
Val: Oh god... No... She says on the verge of tears.
Kindron: Don't worry. This isn't about the pranks you've played
on me over the years. He says as he looks back to them. It's
just because you are the next highest rank of ghoul hunters.
Vera: Because we'd be powerful servants, right? She says,
completely in despair as she knew it was only a matter of time
before they turned into ghouls too.
Kindron: That's right. Not only will you two be my two generals
for my new ghoul organization... But I'll also be depriving this
town of both it's highest ranked teams. He says with a
smile. They'll be so crippled in how much they can do to handle
ghouls, that it they won't be able to fight us for a while.
Val's expression changes, seeming almost at ease. Val: What
about the B ranks and lower? If you turn them too, you can take
the entire city.
Vera turns to Val, noticing her suggestion and change in
expression. Vera: No... Don't tell me you've turned too. She
says to Val.
Kindron smiles and lets Val loose from the blankets and sheets.
Kindron noticed that Val's cuts on her wrists from Kindron's
claws had now healed, which indicated that Val had regenerated
as a result of her change into a ghoul. Val also now had the
claws of a ghoul, which Kindron also noticed.
After Val walks over to Kindron and stood beside him, Kindron
then looks over to Val. Kindron: To answer your question... He
says as he realizes he got sidetracked with noticing Val's turn
into a ghoul. I don't want to start a war here today with just
three of us, or we'll be dead before we make manage to get
anything done. Even if they only have B rank or below, enough of
them will probably swarm us and kill us. They have a numbers
advantage.
Vera starts blacking out, trying to fight the turn as she looks
to Kindron. Vera: So... You're going to start a war against the
town? Why not rule it like everyone else? She says as she
continues to struggle.
Kindron: I can't now... Everyone knows I'll be a ghoul if I'm
still alive. No one knew the Curator was a ghoul... Even I
didn't know until I exposed him. He says the last part with a
shrug. So... I'm going to build a group of ghouls using the
Exiles outside the city. And then take over this town. He then
gets a sinister look as he looks over to Vera. Once I'm in
control, I'll use the humans like cattle. I'll keep all the
people here and let them live normal lives... Up until the point
I decide to turn them into ghouls. And make sure they continue
to spawn more humans that we can turn into more ghouls. He
chuckles. Then we'll take on other towns. Sooner or later,
someone's going to make a more organized way of fighting off
ghouls, and we're gonna need to be ready. He then gets a serious
expression. These towns dictate who can and cannot enter. So I'm
going to build Exile towns where they can live in peace, while
we take over these "safe" towns and use them. I'll make sure the
Exiles live good lives and the people in these save towns
suffer. He says sinisterly.
Val: I see. So then, we retreat after this? She says, trying to
figure out the plan.
Kindron: Yes. After Vera turns, we leave and go out into the
territory outside. I have a plan to recruit Exiles. It will be
easier if they join willingly. You two are the only two I
planned to turn into ghouls against your will.
Val: Because we'd be essential to your plan to weaken the city's
response?
Kindron: Exactly.
Kindron walks over to Vera, who had lost consciousness, and then
drops her down. He uses his telekinesis to throw the blankets
aside. He checks to see that the conversion was happening.
Kindron: Damn... She lasted longer than I thought she would.
Strange that you turned so quickly and she didn't. He says,
looking at Vera who was now growing claws and her wounds were
healing.
Val: I don't know. She says with a shrug.
Vera then wakes up, and grabs Kindron's shirt angrily. Vera: I
WILL kill you for this. She says, before her expression also
changes, despite Vera trying to avoid changing her expression.
Kindron: A last hint of defiance? He says to Vera, who lets go
of Kindron's shirt and gets up.
Vera: Something like that. I have to follow you, but that
doesn't mean I have to like you. She says with a cold expression
to Kindron. Despite Val seeming to follow Kindron, Vera seemed
to had retained some of her defiant personality.
Kindron: Now I see... Personality must have a factor in how long
it takes to turn. Good to know. Surprising we don't know quite
as much as we'd like about the ghoul transformation. He says,
analyzing Vera who seemed to now be a full ghoul as well.
Vera: Maybe. She says with a shrug.
Val: What are we going to call this new group of ours? She asks
Kindron.
Kindron stops and thinks for a moment. Kindron: Well... Our
primary goal is Olympus... And we probably are going to be
harbingers of death... So, what about Tartarus? Yeah. That
sounds good. He says, liking the name Tartarus for his new
group.
Kindron: Welp... Time to go. He says as he motions for Val and
Vera to come over to him. Once they do, Kindron uses his dark
distortion to warp him, Val and Vera into the forest.
In the facility, hours after they left, the guards investigate
the two guards who were missing, and eventually find them in Val
and Vera's room. After noticing the sheets with the green blood
stains, they realize what had happened. And after checking the
room where Kindron was staked to the wall, they realize that
Kindron was also gone. Immediately, the guards set off the
alarms.
With such powerful ghouls seeming to plan their new group, how
will the war against the Ghouls change? Will Kindron overcome
humanity, or is Kindron underestimating humanity? Only time will
tell.
Later, outside the town of Olympus in the forests:
A lone Exile, a young boy, runs to find cover from the rain. He
finds a boulder that someone had carved a whole into to shield
from the rain (and had obviously long abandoned the area. He
sits under the cover the boulder, and looks out.
From beyond the vision of the rain, a lone figure walks up to
the Exile, and leans down to meet their gaze. The figure is
revealed to be Kindron, who the figure recognizes as a ghoul
almost instantly thanks to the claws. Kindron: You're out here
all alone, aren't you. He says to the boy.
Boy: Are you here to eat me? He says, scared, but unable to go
anywhere.
Kindron just smiles. Kindron: No. I'm not. I'm looking for
Exiles for a different reason. You see, I'm looking to recruit
some people for a special mission.
Boy: What mission? He asks cautiously.
Kindron looks to the boy with a serious expression. Kindron: I
want to unite ghouls under a common cause. And help the Exiles
build their own villages to live in peace. The safe towns cause
so much suffering to others, that I'm going to make them suffer
the same pain they've inflicted on others. He explains.
Boy: Wait... Exiles... village?
Kindron: That's right. You have three choices. The first is to
stay here under the rain and search for your own way. He says,
counting his on fingers. The second is that you can go to the
Exiles village and I can help you find a place there. And the
third. He says as he holds his hand out, holding his claws up.
You can join me and gain power. I've been learning how to
optimize the ghoul transformation process, and I can make you
stronger than you imagine.
Boy: You're the one I've heard about... The ghoul code-named
Hades? He says, starting to figure out who Kindron was.
Kindron: I am. I take it word has gotten around about me. But
you're not from Olympus , are you? He says, looking at the boy
and studying his appearance.
Boy: No... I'm from Falias. Can you really take over the towns?
He says, as he starts to come out from the area under the
boulder.
Kindron: I can. I can make you stronger than you would ever be,
and I have figured out how to pass on certain abilities.
As the boy comes out, his pupils are revealed to be red, and he
looks up to Kindron. Boy: I want power. Darkness power. You can
grant that, can't you?
Kindron: I can. He says with a smile. Darkness is my favorite
power.
The boy smiles and takes Kindron's hand, purposefully letting
Kindron's claws dig into his palm. Boy: I want power... Give me
power.
Kindron: Very well. He says as he watches the boy grabs
Kindron's hand as hard as he could and letting Kindron's claws
dig deep into the boy's palm.
Kindron: You're gonna need a code name... Since you're from
Falias... I think I'll go with Fomoire. He says to the boy.
The boy, who had almost instantly changed after the claws dug
into his hand, looks up, with him now glowing green with his own
ki, and his dark energy. Boy: I like it. The boy then gives
Kindron a cold expression. Those jerks in Falias... They killed
my mom and dad. I want to make them pay.
Kindron smiles as he lets go of the boy's hand. Kindron: So...
The transformation is almost instant if it's a willing
transformation. That's good to know. He says, analyzing the
boy's change, and then chuckles for a moment. Welcome to
Tartarus... Fomoire. He says as the boy walks over to him, ready
to walk with him as Kindron gets up and starts walking with the
child to take him to his hideout.
In the town of Valhalla, a few weeks after the incident in
Olympus:
A young man, reading a report of the incidents in Olympus,
finishes reading it and throws the device with the report at a
wall in anger. Man: DAMMIT! The reports were true! My brother...
He's a ghoul!
From behind him, two young women walk up to him, one with silver
hair and green eyes who was an alternate of Vendetta
Zolnerowich, and the other with black hair and red eyes who was
an alternate of Vin Zolnerowich.
V: Don't worry Zak... We'll save them. That was always the plan,
right? She says, trying to comfort the young man, now revealed
to be Zakai Darkfire, who had gone missing some time ago.
Zakai: I know, V... I just... I don't know if I can fight my
brother. I could never bring myself to fight him. And I don't
think I'd be able to handle him being so willing to hurt people.
He says, trying to compose himself. However, he gets a worried
look. It's not just that. This ghoul codenamed "Hades"... The
reports say he's stronger than even the S rank ghoul hunters
that other cities have sent after him. Kindron was strong
before, but now he's strong enough they created a new class of
ghoul just for him they've termed Z Class ghouls, and one that
they're on the verge of putting Enyo and Eris into that category
too because of their growth in magic.
V: Enyo and Eris? Who are they?
Zakai: I didn't know them that well, but they were the former A
rank hunters, Val and Vera. Now they're codenamed after a Greek
goddess of war, and a Greek goddess of chaos.
V: Well, then we can save them too. Vin's plan should still
work.
Vin walks up beside V and Zakai, and looks at Zakai. Vin:
Yeah... We don't have to overpower them. All we have to do is
cure them.
Zakai sighs. Zakai: I know. I just... I don't know if I can do
it alone, you know.
V: You're not alone. You have Vin and I here with you. If it
hadn't have been for you, Vin and I would still be being
manipulated by the doctors of the Zeus project. Vin and I are
going to help you. And we will get your brother and those
witches back.
Zakai: Maybe. He says, looking down, putting his hands on the
table and leaning forward a bit.
Vin: Don't worry. Like I said, we just cure them. Once we cure
Kindron who made all these ghouls, most of them will scatter.
Zakai: Not that easy... According to reports on the Exile town
of Leukos, supposedly, most of the people Kindron has gathered
have been offered to be granted the power of a ghoul, but those
that refuse are allowed to go to Leukos. So we can probably be
sure that all the ghouls following Kindron are following him
willingly, which means they're gonna be loyal to Kindron even if
we beat Kindron... Or at least... They'll be loyal to the ghoul
Kindron, probably not to Kindron if we cure him.
V: Well, we have the S Class Ghoul hunters Thor and Heimdall on
our side too. And with those we recruited from Falias and Osiris
will hopefully help us in this battle.
Zakai: Yeah, but will it be enough. Remember that we won't just
be fighting Tartarus... We're also going to be fighting the
people who control these towns. Well... Whatever groups control
the cities at least. I'm scared though. After finding out about
what they did to you two, and what happened with Erimus Shephard
with the Darkness Project, I'm scared of what other secrets we
might find in these cities...
V: We knew this wouldn't be easy. But we have no choice. She
says as she puts her hand on Zakai's shoulder again. But we can
save them... Or rather... You can save them. Vin and I can't
save them ourselves. Not as long as the Zeus Engines in us are
still able to fall into the wrong hands. One day, we will have
to remove them from our bodies and destroy them.
Zakai: Not if I have anything to say about it. We will find a
way. He says simply. He then turns and puts his hands on V and
Vin's shoulders. Thanks. Both of you. And I WILL find a way to
help you live normal lives after this is over. I promise that.
He says before walking out of the room.
Vin and V stay silent, not sure how to respond. Both knew that
their lives would not be pleasant after the wars were over and
people found out about them and the Zeus Engines in their
bodies, but that was a story for another time...
Zakai's plan is about to be put into motion. Will he be able to
stop Tartarus from taking over the cities... And will he be able
to find out what groups are responsible for controlling the
cities in the world and what secrets they hold?
End.
