       Elseworld Story: Finding a Path
       By: Coolcat207 Date: April 4, 2023, 11:22 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Years ago, back before the Interdimensional Order of the Dragon,
Miriana has been in a few groups trying to find a place to
belong. But since she's a werepire, it's anything but easy. Her
last group didn't go so well since she was chased out for
murdering her father figure, even though she killed him in self
defense so she ended up into a small pack of Get of Fenris
werewolves. She was made as a guard and thanks to her, the pack
has been doing well. But something happened. Miriana was
guarding the den where the pups of the alphas are sleeping when
the eldest of the alphas approach with her goons. She plotted to
kill her own siblings and Miriana so she can be the one to lead
the pack instead of Miriana, whom the jealous werewolf has
stated before. Miriana manage to defeat the goons easily but not
kill them. She also started to battle the werewolf while trying
not to kill her and keep the pups safe but something triggered
Miriana that led to fighting the werewolf in a blind rage. When
she snapped out of it, she not only wounded the assailant, but
also killed the pups. Distraught, Miriana fell to her knees
which later on led to her being cornered by the pack. Despite
her best efforts, Miriana had no other choice but to flee the
pack even though she was framed for something that wasn't
entirely her fault. Betrayed yet again, Miriana learned a harsh
reality check. There is no place for creatures like her. She
will always be an outcast. Always be betrayed and label as a
monster by many. So she became a lone swordsman. She swore to
herself that she will never grow any attachments to anyone and
anything ever again. Trust is for fools. Survival is important.
But little did she knows, life is full of surprises.
       Current Day
"Okay, now let's try this again."
Bardrick says to Miriana as she continue to practice her powers
in the strength force. She open the palms of her hands and form
a ball of gravity. She then shoots them at the large ice dummy
in front of her. The ball makes the impact and almost
immediately crush the dummy. The dummy then dissolve like it was
       made of sand.
Bardrick: Good. Seems like you are getting used to this. Great
       work.
Miriana: Okay, spill it. This seems like more than some other
workout. What is the purpose of this?
Bardrick: Seems like you figured it out. Have a seat.
Miriana frowned but obeyed. She sits in front of Bardrick legs
       crossed.
Bardrick: Have you ever heard of the name King Sirion?
Miriana: Yeah, he's the old dog who has powerful alchemy and an
uncle of the werepire version of Kenshi's uncle. I've met a few
of his lackeys a few times before. Wait, is he planning to come
after me or Erimus? I swear to Odin if he does--!
Bardrick: Calm down, Miriana! He will not come after any of you,
especially due to what's going on between those accursed
werepire twins and the dark spirits lingering around. Anyway, a
long time ago during the early days of man, King Sirion has
created a combat style that relies on precise evasion, instinct
as you might say. But as you may also know, there is a werepire
who created their own type of abilities to make themselves
stronger and more dangerous. A combat style that is the complete
opposite of what King Sirion has created which is called Primal
Combat. While the latter ability enables its users to act
without thinking and only activates when one's heart is calm and
when they get rid of unnecessary emotions, this combat style
instead fuels itself with the users' passion and overwhelming
emotions, becoming stronger as they do as they please. Since
werepires are the primary users of this state, they indulge in
their destructive role and tendencies, become more bloodthirsty
       and ferocious than before.
Miriana: Who invented this kind of fighting style?
Bardrick: Believe it or not, it's not a Wolfwing but he might as
well be. He is one of the oldest werepires known in existence
and one of the most powerful to the point that many consider him
       to be a deity.
       Miriana: ...Who is this werepire?
Bardrick: His real name was lost in time but they called him...
       Sobek. He's a werecrocodile/vampire hybrid. He's unique because
there aren't many like him. He invented the Primal Combat long
ago during the early days of civilizations. Little history is
known about him but there were rumors about him also being an
avatar of the Strength Force just like you. But one thing is
for certain: He is a fourth generation methuselah, thus making
him one of the most terrifying beings to ever walk the Earth. I
don't even think the strongest of fighters can even match him.
All we know now is that he is in some eternal slumber guarded by
       his werecrocodile ghouls.
Miriana: ...Why are you telling me this?
Bardrick: Because I am certain that you can use this ability to
grow stronger. Things are about to get worse. I know you want to
remain neutral, especially after everything that happened to you
before in the past, but a lot of things are at stake such as
       lives.
Miriana: And what makes you think I care about people I barely
know? This world may have different tweaks but it's no different
from my old world. The last time I thought I would belong
somewhere, that dream shatter and I'm back to the reality that I
will be alone for the rest of my life. That things like 'heroes'
and 'groups' means nothing to people like me. I might as well be
like another Blackfire or like that Kaidon bastard that almost
       killed me, Kenshi and Erimus!
Bardrick: But you're nothing like them. The swordsman knows this
hence why he wanted you in his group many times before. And what
happened last night proved my point as well.
Miriana frowned as she remembers saving two orphan children from
a small feral group of vampires but little did she know, she has
accidentally tapped into Primal Instinct using her Strength
Force abilities to defeat them. After the fight, she helped the
orphans find their way to the city while giving them the address
to a church that belongs to Father Hei since Blademaster Raven
has told her about the church here isn't like the one in their
world... probably to an extent in her opinion since she still
doesn't trust the church and anything related to them.
Bardrick: You may seem like you don't care but you're more than
some lone swordsman with a heart made of ice. The holy swordsman
knows this as well. But even though many spirits may get on my
ass for this, I believe that you can still learn this Primal
       Instinct combat.
Miriana: ...Were there others who learned this besides Sobek?
Bardrick: Hm, I believe one of the Wolfwings from the past
learned it but that I am unsure. You could also ask the Strength
Force as well if you wish.
Miriana: Maybe if I run out of options. But you mentioned Sobek
as if he's still alive. If that's the case, do you know anything
       about where he sleeps?
Bardrick: There are rumors but even if it's true, I would not
       advise it.
Miriana: Figures. Guess I can bother the Strength Force later
on. For now, I'll just get back to training.
With that, Miriana gets up and goes back on harnessing her
Strength Force powers. Bardrick silently watches Miriana with a
       small sigh.
Bardrick: Miriana, I wish that when you abandoned your world,
you left the past there as well. That you are no longer alone
       like you always believed.
       End
