"I never joke about my work..." - Q to James Maxwell when they
met
"Now DO try and bring some of this equipment back in pristine
order."
"Don't touch that! Takes back sub sandwich angrily. That's my
lunch!"
"I said bring that car back in one piece! Not 'bring back just
one piece.' " - Q to an MI-6 agent who destroyed one of his
vehicles
"I've always tried to teach you two things, James. The first.
Never let them see you bleed. And the second... Lowers into an
automated trap door in the floor as he says his next words.
Always have an escape plan." - Q, the gadgetmaster of MI-6 to
James Maxwell, the head of the Nightstalkers
When James Maxwell came to MI6 for items and saw Q with a leg
cast.
James: Morning, Q... Sorry about the leg. Skiing?
Q fires a rocket from his cast at a nearby wall and looks to
James with a smile.
Q: Hunting. He says cheerfully.
When Q was demonstrating an exploding pen.
Q: This is also a class four grenade. He demonstrates. Three
clicks arms the four second fuse, and three more disarms it.
James takes the pen and clicks three times. He then looks to Q.
James: How long did you say the fuse was?
Q quickly takes the pen back and clicks three times to disarm
it.
Q: Oh... Grow up. He says sarcastically.
Again while Q was demonstrating the exploding pen.
Q: Let's ask Fred here to demonstrate. He says going over to a
dummy in the corner testing area. He puts the pen in Fred's
shirt pocket. Sorry about this, Fred... He says as he arms the
pen and runs to cover. As the pen explodes, the top of half of
the dummy is blown up, leaving only the bottom half. When Q sees
that only the bottom half was left, he looks over to James.
Don't say it! He says, thinking James was going to make a joke
about the dummy's bottom half.
James: The writing's on the wall? He says, trying to make a joke
out of the situation.
Q: Along with the rest of him. He says with a chuckle.
After Q demonstrated the exploding pen.
James: Whoever said the pen was mightier than the sword...
Q: Well thanks to me, they were right! He says sarcastically.
During a talk with the MI6 gadgetmaster, Q, giving James a new
car for MI6 work and they were discussing insurance.
James looks at the clipboard.
Q: It's the insurance waver for your beautiful new car. Starts
going through the information. Will you need collision coverage?
James: Yes.
Q: Fire?
James: Probably.
Q: Property destruction?
James: Definitely.
Q: Personal injury?
James: I hope not... But accidents do happen...
Q: They frequently do with you... He says sarcastically.
James: Well... That takes care of the normal wear and tear... Do
I need any other protection?
Q: Only from me... Unless you bring that car back in prestine
order.
"Meet your new Quartermaster." - One of the mission briefers
introducing Q
"How is old Q? Still up to his usual tricks?" - Alec Trevelyan
after he betrayed MI6 to James Maxwell when Alec took James's
gadgets he got from Q.

Personality: Q is a fairly normal old man, and one who is very
proud of his work in Q branch. When it comes to his work, Q is
always serious, even though after many years he has learned to
take a few jokes here and there from others in MI-6. Q is a very
smart person, and usually pretty friendly to those he knows. Q's
job in MI-6 is to come up with different kinds of gadgets and
weapons for agents to use that will keep them from getting
killed, and it is a job that he enjoys. Q is typically a very
patient and level-headed person, though there are some people
who tend to push his buttons at times. However, Q is the type of
person that cares about the wellbeing of the people he is
helping in MI-6, and their safety is his priority when it comes
to his gadgets (meaning he makes sure that the gadgets Q branch
makes are properly tested before issuing them to agents). The
only thing that seems to upset Q more than anything is when
people destroy his gadgets and tech, usually in the field. Q
does get a bit upset as he gets attached to his creations, and
tends to get a bit angered. However, any anger he feels doesn't
always last long because he isn't the type to hold a grudge (at
least, not for long). When it comes to fighting though, Q does
not fight outright. If Q were to get into a fight, he would
probably be killed, because he is not a combatant and other than
his gadgets, he has nothing he can really do in fights. Q is
strictly in a support role for agents in MI-6, which he tends to
enjoy to a degree as he enjoys helping out agents (as long as
they don't make him mad).
Bio: Not too much is known about Q's background. The only thing
that is known about Q's background is that he is one who has
excelled and become very knowledgeable when it comes to to
technology. These days, he works as the head of Q branch, and
works on creating gadgets and tech for the agents in MI-6 to use
in the field. Q has been working for MI-6 for many years, and
has plenty of experience. Not only has Q been working in Q
Branch, but has also traveled the world thanks to his work,
helping agents in the field by delivering gadgets to them as
needed. For the most part, there isn't too much to say about Q,
other than he continues to be someone who helps out MI-6 and
seems to enjoy his job (for the most part).
