London RP Profile: James Maxwell
By: Zorbak the Ebil Moglin Date: November 25, 2022, 2:13 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
"My name is James Maxwell... Consider me a Specialist." - James
Maxwell
"You want to know why I do this? Stops and thinks. I guess
because I've never been good at anything else." James about why
he works as a supernatural hunter
"Filthy habit..." - James to a someone he knocked out who had
been smoking.
"I see you put your money where your mouth is..." - James joking
to an enemy who had gold teeth
"Well... That's a neat trick." - James joking when he saw an
enemy vanish into the shadows for the first time
"Looking for a news story?" - James joking to a reporter he
caught breaking into a facility.
"I've evacuated the area... Ask the admiral where he'd like his
bombs delivered." - James after he recovered stolen nuclear
torpedoes during a mission and was flying a jet.
"What, no small-talk? No chit-chat? That's the trouble with the
world today. No one takes the time to do a really sinister
interrogation anymore. It's a lost art." - James being sarcastic
to an enemy
"If you're Q, does that make him R?" - James making a joke about
the gadget-master, Q, in MI-6 when he introduced James to the
one Q was training to succeed him.
"You think fancy martial arts will save you in a fight with a
supernatural being? Most of them have combat training as much as
you do and can do things you can't. No... What you need in order
to win is creativity... Quick thinking and adapting. Keep them
guessing. That hesitation when they try to figure out what
you're doing? That's your biggest weapon. Your fancy martial
arts just make you predictable." - James when training an ally
to fight supernatural
"No matter the supernaturals, most all think similarly enough to
humans. Understand that, and they're just humans with special
powers, which many of them may very well be. Once you understand
their motivations are mostly the same as any human with power,
you can counter any super. It just takes preparation and
understanding... And a little luck." - James training another
Nightstalker group member.
During a mission with an ally.
Ally: Do you destroy every vehicle you get into?
James: Standard operating procedure. He says jokingly.
During a mission when he got caught by an enemy.
Enemy: I could have given you the world.
James: The world is not enough.
Enemy: Foolish sentiment... They say sarcastically.
James: Family motto...
During a mission with his ally, Alec Trevelyan.
James: It's too easy... He says, noticing that they infiltrated
a place too easily.
Trevelyan: Half of everything is luck James.
James: And the other half?
An alarm over head starts to sound.
Trevelyan: Fate...
When James met an ally.
James: You are miss... ?
Ally: Doctor Jones... Christmas Jones, and don't tell me any
jokes. I've heard them all.
James: I don't know any doctor jokes.
During a mission when he got betrayed by his friend, Alec
Trevelyan.
Trevelyan: We're both orphans, James. But while your parents
had the luxury of dying in a climbing accident, mine survived
the British betrayal and Stalin's execution squads. My father
couldn't let himself or my mother live with the shame. MI-6
figured I was too young to remember. And in one of life's little
ironies, the son went to work for the government whose betrayal
caused the father to kill himself and his wife.
James: Hence the identity, Janus. The two-faced Roman god come
to life.
Trevelyan: It wasn't God who gave me this face! It was you,
setting the timers for the bombs for three minutes instead of
six.
James: Am I supposed to feel sorry for you?
Trevelyan: No. You were supposed to die for me.
When James got captured by an enemy. James was tied to a chair
while the enemy was standing over him.
The enemy gets mad and snaps James's pinky during the
interrogation after James was making jokes, making James yell
out in pain.
Enemy: There are 215 bones in the human body. That's one...
Unless you want me to start breaking them all, tell me what I
want to know.
James: 206... He says, looking up at the enemy through gritted
teeth.
Enemy: What? He says, confused.
James: There are 206 bones in the human body... Not 215. Where
did you learn anatomy? He says sarcastically.
The enemy sighs. Enemy: This is gonna get me nowhere... He says
to himself.
During a conversation with an ally.
James Bond : Who is the competition?
Ally: Ah, an ex-KGB guy. Tough guy. Got a limp in his right leg.
Name's Zukovsky.
James: Valentin Dmitrovitch Zukovsky? He says in surprise.
Ally: Yeah, you know him?
James: I gave him the limp. He says jokingly.
During a talk with someone who was giving James gadgets and
James was looking at the car.
James opens the car and hears a female automated voice. He looks
to the ally.
Q: I thought you might pay more attention to a female voice...
He says sarcastically.
James thinks for a moment. James: I think we've met. He says
jokingly.
During a talk with the MI-6 gadget-master, Q, giving James a new
car for MI-6 work and they were discussing insurance.
James looks at the clipboard.
Q: It's the insurance waver for your beautiful new car. Starts
going through the information. Will you need collision coverage?
James: Yes.
Q: Fire?
James: Probably.
Q: Property destruction?
James: Definitely.
Q: Personal injury?
James: I hope not... But accidents do happen...
Q: They frequently do with you... He says sarcastically.
James: Well... That takes care of the normal wear and tear... Do
I need any other protection?
Q: Only from me... Unless you bring that car back in pristine
order.
During an incident when James was trying to take back a stolen
fighter with nuclear weapons and was being watched by MI-6
agents, his superior, M, and a military officer from the base
through surveillance equipment.
Military Officer: What the hell is he doing?!
M: His job. She says sarcastically.
"Need I remind you... You have a license to kill. NOT to break
the traffic laws." - Q to James.
"Tell me James... Do you still sleep with a gun under your
pillow?" - An ally who knew James' paranoid nature.
"Refreshing to know there's one subject you're not an expert
on..." - An MI-6 agent when he realized James didn't know much
about diamonds despite him being someone who knows quite a bit
having studied around the world about a variety of subjects.
Name: James Maxwell
Title: The Specialist
Age: Unknown
Species: Enhanced Human
Gender: Male
Hunter Group/Team:
- MI-6 (Works as Special Agent in the Night Stalkers)
- Torchwood (Works as Special Agent)
Weapons:
- Modified Walther PPK (With Silencer if needed): This weapon is
a modified Walther PPK that is standard issue among MI-6 agents.
This gun is a 7.65 mm, and small enough to be easily concealed
on James' person without too much trouble. This can hold up to
10 rounds depending on the cartridge size, and fires shots that
has enough stopping power to fire through bulletproof glass.
This weapon also has the ability to utilize special silencers
built by MI-6, with very little reduction in muzzle velocity.
This weapon is modified to be able to fire special rounds
depending on what the individual wants to fire (in which
different types of bullets can be loaded if one has access to
special weapon types). The gun has a few modifications though
that MI-6 agents now use thanks to the gadget-master, Q, adding
in special modifications. With special silencers, the guns make
no sound at all, whereas some silencers would only make a little
sound. With the silencer options, this allows MI-6 agents to
utilize this gun on stealth missions much more easily, where
they can use silencers to shoot enemies without making too much
sound. Another addition made was the use of a magnetic
scrambler, which releases a magnetic charge that constantly
scrambles the magnetic charge of the weapon and it's ammo (the
ammo remain magnetically scrambled for up to 10 seconds after
being fired, by which time they've usually already hit their
target or hit something that's stopped the bullet. This
modification was designed so that magnetic/lightning users
wouldn't be able to take control of the guns that are used by
the MI-6 agents. This also prevents earth users from affecting
the guns, by using the magnetic scrambler to confuse earth user
abilities and protect the gun with magnetic energy. This
modification makes it so that it is difficult, if not impossible
for supernaturals to take control of the gun aside from those
with telekinetic abilities (but they would still have to beat
the magnetic scrambling). These guns are also have special
transmittable receivers in them that can broadcast distress
signals when activated, but are hidden in the gun so that
enemies don't know if they capture the agent. James uses one of
these, and almost always as one on him. This is his weapon of
choice, and what he always uses on missions. He usually also
carries different types of ammo, such as silver bullets,
varanium bullets, or even mercury filled bullets.
- Other Supernatural Hunter Weapons: Depending on the
supernatural hunter, most usually have lists of weapons they use
to hunt supernaturals (not just one type of weapon). For
example, almost anyone who works as a supernatural hunter will
at some point have need of silver knives, which are often
blessed silver that supernatural hunters will use on unholy
creatures. There are also other kinds of supernatural hunter
weapons that can be used based on the situation and things that
are available. For example, guns with special ammo are becoming
more and more common among supernatural hunters, and some
supernatural hunters are even trying to equip themselves with
non-magnetic guns so that magnetic users cannot stop their
bullets. There are some that are very common, such as using
certain written spells to enchant items (some of which actually
don't require magic users to utilize and can be used by anyone
that learns the incantations and how the spells work). Another
example, is that angel blades are becoming more and more
popular, since angel blades can not only kill many creatures,
but they can also kill demons (which makes them very useful
since not too many weapons can specifically kill demons unless
specifically enchanted or empowered to). Another one is death
scythes that some people try to take from reapers. It is rare,
but some supernatural hunters do try to weaponize death scythes,
such as the London Alice Rynn who made knives out of reaper
scythe blades in order to be able to kill anything in her path.
Another common weapon used by supernatural hunters is holy water
and holy oil, which is used to counter unholy creatures, with
holy oil also being able to trap angels. Holy water is effective
against many unholy creatures, and some weaponize it by keeping
vials they can throw at enemies (which break and splash the holy
water on supernaturals they hit). And if the supernatural
hunters are part of a group, the group may have special weapons,
such as how the Men of Letters in England typically has unique
supernatural hunter weapons that other groups don't such as an
anti-angel bomb that releases a pulse that casts out angels
temporarily. Overall, this depends on the supernatural hunter,
how prepared they are, the things they have access to, and how
much stuff they can handle taking with them. For James, he will
usually equip himself depending on the mission, though he
usually has special bullets such as varanium bullets or silver
bullets and usually has some form of silver knife or another
kind of knife depending on the mission he's on. However, he does
most often rely on his PPK more than knives (though he's not
afraid to use any weapon he has to in order to kill an enemy).
- Other Weapons and Gadgets (Case by Case): Thanks to the MI-6
gadgetmaster, Q, MI-6 agents have access to a great many gadgets
developed by the Q branch. Q branch makes plenty of special
gadgets and weapons for almost any situation, and they equip
their agents for what they may face. Among some may include a
pen that acts as a grenade, a leather belt that can fire a
grappling hook, and a number of other gadgets. Among them are
also watches that can do things like firing lasers, act as
triggers for mines, or can be programmed with remote control
functions. Q branch also makes phones that can carry taser
functions, fingerprint scanners, or remote controls for
vehicles. As for vehicles, Q branch also makes specially
equipped cars, which are developed with special modifications as
well. Cars made by Q branch typically have a number of
refinements, such as in some cars, there are stinger missiles
equipped behind the headlights, gattling guns equipped in the
car, and some even have other weapons. Also equipped in vehicles
are usually spikes that are meant to be dropped on the road so
pursuing vehicles run over them and pop their tires. Depending
on the car, some even come equipped with other things, such as
one that could dive into the water and act as a submarine (for
up to a certain depth). For the most part, Q branch has many
different options in all types and sizes, depending on what the
agents need. Because MI-6 handles a lot of dangerous enemies,
MI-6 usually tries to equip agents with gadgets that can help
them in situations, and depending on the agent and gadgets
available, many agents are usually equipped with gadgets based
on the situation. For example, if infiltrating a base, Q branch
may equip the agent with special equipment designed for
infiltration, such as a card that can hack electronic doors, or
electrical devices that can short out electrical systems, or
even repelling or climbing ropes for bases in hard to reach
areas. This usually depends on the situation, and is meant to be
used strategically in the field in some way. Of course, the
types of gadgets carried depend on the MI-6 agent and what Q
branch makes for them. James usually has a watch with a laser
and a taser function in it that fires cords that electrocute
from the side of the watch. James also has a belt that can fire
a grappling hook, and carries other weapons. He also typically
drives some form of enhanced Q branch car, which usually has
special refinements. For the most part, James is usually well
equipped depending on the situation. He also usually has special
clothes made that are flexible and made for combat, with them
even being bulletproof and resistant to piercing attacks and
weapons.
Assassin Wavelength Abilities:
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation Training: Killing others
comes naturally to master assassins by the point they have
become master assassins. However, there are abilities that
assassins can learn that are not standard assassin skills, in
which assassins who have become experienced can learn about the
wavelengths assassins manipulate. Most normal assassins don't
know about this, and advanced assassins start to slowly train in
this skill subconsciously without knowing it by learning to
avoid standing out in crowds. However, once one gets to be a
master level assassin, they eventually learn about this
wavelength and what it does, and then learn to consciously
control it as a means to assist their ability to assassinate
others. This wavelength is given off by the consciousness of
others, and often is used by most only subconsciously. This
wavelength is what allows others to detect when people may be
following, watching or even hunting them, to which some people
have a stronger sense of this than others. However, this is more
of a natural sense that humans have (Though some mistake it as a
sixth sense), where they are able to sense their own wavelength,
and the wavelengths of others around them. Usually, those with
malicious intent or those wanting to sneak around give off
specific wavelengths that often trigger this type of sense,
which is why some people can sense that they might be being
watched or targeted. However, this wavelength is also connected
to the consciousness, and master assassins can even learn skills
to manipulate this skill for a number of purposes. There are a
few ways to use this, including assassins learning to manipulate
their own wavelength, and also learning to manipulate the
wavelengths of others through physical touch. While this is a
skill that can be learned by anyone though, this skill takes
many years and much experience to fully learn and master. Only
the highest level assassins have been able to master this,
regardless of their natural talents, since only experience lets
assassins tap into this. Also, while wavelength training is
different between different types of people (the big examples
being martial artist wavelength, swordsman wavelength and
assassin wavelength), these are all the same kind of wavelength
even if they sound different. Mostly each "type" of skillset
with wavelengths is just different ways of attuning to the same
thing (but different skillsets use this differently than
others).
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Hide in Plain Sight: Many
more skilled assassins also learn this skill, usually after they
have become experienced assassins (and usually through intense
training). This is an advanced assassin technique which allows a
master assassin to manipulate their wavelengths in order to
match others, and this is used in one aspect to allow master
level assassins to essentially hide in plain sight. This ability
is very useful, in that master assassins can match their
wavelength to either one person or a crowd of people so that the
assassin doesn't set off enemy senses when getting close to them
or even passing them by. Skilled assassins are able to use this
to walk right by even supernaturals without them ever noticing
them when used by advanced enough users. In addition, while
people can sense users of this training despite their wavelength
tuning, they don't pop out as a threat when sensed by others,
meaning the assassin doesn't set off any "fight or flight"
instincts in people/supernaturals, in which people's
subconscious minds often never sense or feel master assassins
when they use this properly, where most would get feelings of
being watched or followed when normal people would follow or
watch them. Even people who are good at noticing threats or
people who shouldn't be present in a group will have a hard time
even noticing the assassin when this is used properly. Master
assassins know how to avoid triggering targets that might be
able to feel when someone is watching them and can usually be
attacked before they realize the assassin is watching them
(unless they have a way to see past this skill's effect, such as
other assassin wavelength users can learn this and counter it),
since they can become so good at basically matching the
wavelengths of people or crowds so that they don't stand out in
any way. The only time they often stand out is when they want to
(usually by trying to intimidate opponents), and assassins that
use this can hide in crowds much more easily, especially when
combined with stealth and crowd-blending training. However, this
part of the wavelength manipulation doesn't actually disguise an
assassin's presence or suppress it completely (but instead tunes
it to others so that they don't notice it as a foreign
wavelength), so if they're not using any presence suppression
abilities, they can still be sensed by supernaturals if they can
sense the presence of others, even though it takes strong senses
to sense people who use this.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Presence Suppression: When a
master assassin is in a crowd, almost any assassin knows the
importance of blending in. However, only master assassins can
effortlessly blend into crowds to the point that even while
standing out or even carrying weapons. A master level assassin
does this by manipulating their own wavelength. When using this,
assassins are able to tune their wavelengths to crowds or to
people around them, so that they don't appear out of place. In
much the same way the human mind eventually stops noticing
things it doesn't view as important (such as noting seeing
certain things that appear to the person every day), assassins
take advantage of this, where their wavelength essentially lets
them register in people's minds as not worth noticing. By doing
this, an assassin can use this to essentially suppress their
presence so that people don't pay them any real attention, in
which people treat the assassin as they would something in the
background of what they're focused on that they don't really
notice. They can use this to walk into enemy territory,
sometimes walking by people if they're focused on something
else, or they can also use this to escape enemies by hiding and
tuning their wavelength to the surroundings around them so that
their presence doesn't stick out from the area they're hiding
in. This makes master assassins much harder to trace due to the
fact that they become so good at blending into either crowds or
just blending into environments. Those that use this can easily
hide from others, and often allows master assassins to even hide
in plain sight. However, while this is a very useful skill, this
only works usually as long as someone isn't already focused on
the assassin trying to use this. For example, if the assassin
has been noticed by someone, using this when someone is focused
on them will not work to deter the person who was focused on
them. This typically only works as long as people aren't focused
on the assassin, and certain people may not be fooled by this if
they have similar training, or training to observe environments
more than normal people. This also isn't a true presence
suppression, and is more just something to disguise the presence
of the assassin, and not a true suppression of their presence.
And much like the other training in this, the only way to learn
this is through experience, in which only experienced assassins
can learn how to utilize this after they have learned how other
people's wavelengths operate and how the environment's
wavelengths operate, and by comparing themselves to those
wavelengths.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Silent Assassin: Of course,
assassins are heavily trained in how to silently and
stealthfully assassinate their enemies. However, master
assassins can learn to manipulate their wavelengths to make
their steps and movement almost undetectable by those not
focused on them. This is an extension of the power used to hide
in plain sight using the assassin's wavelength, where a user
instead uses this in a different way. Instead of tuning their
wavelength to a crowd, they instead tune it to oppose the sounds
they make. By doing this, the wavelength counters the sound
waves that they generate when moving around, allowing a master
assassin to essentially silence their movement completely
without seeming out of place. By doing this, the assassin learns
to more easily conceal themselves, making them much harder to
detect as a result. In addition, assassins also can combine this
with the presence suppression ability, where they essentially
can use this alongside their suppression to essentially make it
even harder to notice them. The higher level master assassins
can even learn to utilize this subconsciously, where they can
suppress their movement sounds with their wavelength without
even having to think about it. By using presence suppression, an
assassin, as mentioned in presence suppression, essentially is
able to hide in plain sight by making their presence able to
blend into the background which makes most people never even
notice the assassin. This skill can also be used in battle, in
which an assassin can counter their sound so that their
movements make no sound during a fight (which can help against
certain enemies that may use enhanced hearing). However, while
this does hide the sound assassins make when moving, it doesn't
make them invisible, even when used alongside the presence
suppression ability. Those that are focused on the assassin will
still sense or see the assassin even if using this ability, and
even without sound, opponents who keep their view on the
assassin will still be able to keep track of them. Also, this is
not meant to replace an assassin's training to move silently,
but instead is meant to simply supplement their skill. There is
also a limit to how much sound can be suppressed with this
skill, so assassins should only use this alongside their
assassin training to silently move, rather than simply rely on
this skill by itself.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Skilled Thief: This is an
extension of the wavelength used to suppress the presence of an
assassin. Assassins learned this while using the presence
suppression skill, usually as training. By tuning to the people
around them, the assassin is able to use their suppressed
presence to steal items, in which experienced assassins can also
become master thieves. When using this, an assassin tunes to a
person they want to steal from, and using their skilled
movement, they move to take what they want from the person
without them usually noticing (as long as the person hasn't
already noticed the assassin). For example, assassins who train
in this often start by pulling a tag off a shirt worn by someone
nearby as a means to not only test their skill at movement, but
by using their presence suppression to attempt to avoid being
detected when they go to take the tag. Those that combine this
with master thief skills such as pick-pocketing. By moving by
people who aren't paying attention, the master assassin uses
their presence suppression skill and then uses their mastery of
movement to steal what they want to from the person they want to
steal from. Some can also use this to steal things from others,
in which the assassin can often combine this with their
disguised movements to do other things, such as one master
assassin who was able to take the bullets out of a gun without
the person noticing when the assassin took the gun from them.
Skilled assassins can find very creative ways to use this, in
which some assassins may even use this to steal weapons from
someone who hasn't noticed them (such as drawing an opponent's
gun and using it on them before they realize that they were
under attack). Depending on the assassin, this is a very useful
skill, and assassins will often train this skill alongside their
presence suppression. However, the same rules apply that apply
to the presence suppression, and while they can disguise their
movements (see unpredictable combatant for more information),
assassins cannot suppress their presence from people who
consciously have noticed them. Also, higher level assassins and
thieves may also notice the assassin even if they use this
depending on the skill level of the thief/assassin. And like the
presence suppression, this is not meant to replace mastery of
other passive skills, since the assassin has to combine this
with a mastery of movement to make them hard to predict, and has
to use movements that won't be as noticeable to others.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Unpredictable Combatant:
Being unpredictable in a fight is always the way most assassins
want to fight, as it makes them harder to defeat in combat
should they lose the element of surprise. With this skill,
assassins tune their wavelengths to counter opponent's abilities
to read them, usually by tuning it to something to oppose the
senses of the user. For example, if a user has the haki ability
to read an enemy and tries to use it on an assassin, they could
tune their wavelength to counter the haki sense of predicting
the assassin. By confusing the senses that predict someone's
movements, an assassin becomes much harder to predict, and as a
result, allows the assassin to fight in a manner that makes them
less predictable. This is best used when an assassin utilizes
this alongside a less predictable fighting style, where users
can supplement their unpredictability with this skill to allow
them to make themselves difficult to predict. This is a focused
skill, in which an assassin will often use this in physical
combat, to which this can be an active or passive skill
depending on the assassin. Many more experienced master
assassins will often do this passively, where they will always
make their movement unpredictable so that they can confuse
people even when not in direct fights. However, lesser level
master assassins will usually have to actively use this
depending on their skill level, in which they will usually use
this during a fight if they are forced to fight an enemy. This
is a skill that is very useful to assassins, as it makes them
much tougher to fight in combat since even supernaturals can be
fooled by this. This can confuse almost any kind of sense a
person might use to predict others, as long as the assassin is
able to tune their assassin wavelength to counter the sense.
While this can work on most opponents, opponents with enough
adaptability can still adapt to the unpredictability of the
assassin, such as some opponents have beaten this by simply
reacting to enemies rather than trying to predict them. Also, in
order to confuse a sense, an assassin has to understand the
sense being used, and be able to tune their wavelength to
counter that sense (which an assassin can only do if he knows
how the sense is able to predict their movements). And depending
on the opponent, some more experienced opponents may come up
with ways to counter this, such as some with wavelength powers
like swordsman wavelength or Haki may come up with ways to
counter this skill.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Wavelength Interruption:
They say that the best techniques are ones that can be used both
offensively and defensively. While there are plenty of defensive
ways to use the wavelength ability, this is a more offense-based
method of using this skill. When used, a user uses their skills
to interrupt the wavelengths of others, rather than just using
the wavelength defensively. There are a few ways to use this,
with a less common method being known for using a clap close to
an opponent's face to disorient them. This works by using this
wavelength to release a wavelength that interrupts an opponent's
wavelength given off by their consciousness. If done correctly,
an opponent will be stuck in a stunned state, while their minds
try to reorient their wavelengths back to normal. In order to
use this, an assassin has to not only understand their own
wavelength, but also an opponent's wavelength. For example, when
using the common technique of using a clap to stun an opponent,
the assassin has to tune the wavelength given off by the clap,
specifically to interrupt the wavelength of the person they are
trying to affect (usually in an opposing wavelength that
interrupts the natural wavelength of a person's consciousness).
However, when using this through physical touch, assassins can
much more easily interrupt one's wavelength (influencing it is
another ability, but can be done). Those that use this through
physical touch can touch an opponent and release their own
wavelength to counter the person's wavelength they are trying to
affect. This is meant to stun an opponent, and leave them open
for an assassin to attack. If done correctly, opponents are
usually stunned for a certain amount of time after this is done,
leaving them able to be attacked by the assassin. If done
correctly, even those with immunity to mind manipulation and
influence can be affected by this (though people with certain
training can recover faster from this if affected and they focus
correctly). While this can be used on just about anyone though,
there are those that can find ways to resist it. For example,
those familiar with wavelengths can simply change their
wavelength to make this technique not work (such as a swordsman
could modify their own wavelength using swordsman wavelength
when an assassin uses this). If an opponent predicts this attack
is coming, they can also counter it with some other techniques
depending on how creative they are, such as someone may use a
shock-wave technique to counter the wavelength released from
this technique. And of course, more skilled assassins can also
use this to counter other assassin's use of this, usually with
the assassin that is more skilled at this overpowering the
wavelength of the other assassin and stunning them. Another way
to dodge this technique is to put distance between the assassin
and the opponent. This technique only works either at close
range, or through physical touch depending on the skill of the
opponent, so distance is a good way to avoid this technique
altogether if one doesn't have a way to counter it.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Wavelength Influence: This
is a more advanced version of the wavelength manipulation that
assassins use, in which they specifically are able to manipulate
the wavelengths of others. Instead of using it to stun them
however, Assassins instead use this to influence the emotional
states of others. Through physical touch, an assassin can
manipulate the wavelengths of others, usually for a specific
goal. They do this by using their wavelength to influence
another's wavelength, in which this can be used for a few
different purposes. The first is that assassins can use this to
help their allies who are in frantic states, such as calming a
nervous ally, in which the assassin uses their wavelength to
calm the emotional state of the user. For allies, this is very
useful, as it allows an assassin to help their allies who are
not in the right emotional state, and they can slightly
influence even neutral people to usually be more calm about the
assassin's presence. This can also be used on enemies, in which
the assassin can also use this to calm an opponent through
physical touch as well, usually as a means to try and hinder the
opponent's reaction to them. Another way this can be used is to
agitate the emotional state, where assassins can agitate enemies
to the point where the enemies can lose themselves in rage, or
it can be used on allies to induce certain rage state abilities
they may have but need certain emotional states to achieve. This
uses the wavelength's connection to the consciousness, and
through manipulating it, an assassin can slightly influence the
state of a person. However, this isn't mind control, and doesn't
control someone's thoughts. This only affects the mental states,
and those with strong enough control of their mental states may
be resistant to this or even immune in the cases that they are
not able to be affected by abilities like this. Another thing to
note, is that while many can be affected, these effects are
usually only temporary, and only last up to 3 rounds after the
assassin loses physical contact. The last thing to note is that
this does have to be done through physical touch, as the
assassin cannot apply their wavelength to affect someone without
being in physical contact (meaning avoiding this is as simple as
just staying away from the assassin since they have to be
physical contact to use this).
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Rendering Unconsciousness:
This is another use of the wavelength influence, where an
assassin will utilize this to affect others. However, instead of
controlling the emotional state, the assassin uses this to
instead knock someone out. This is also done through physical
contact, in which the assassin affects someone by using their
wavelength to influence someone else. An assassin who uses this
is able to influence others, and calms their minds similar to
the emotional manipulation ability. When using this, an assassin
makes physical contact with an enemy and then uses their
wavelength to influence others by overpowering their wavelength
with the assassin's own wavelength, which then is used to
influence depending on how the assassin wants to influence them
by using their own wavelength to change the wavelength of the
person they are trying to affect. In this case, an assassin uses
it to calm someone using their wavelength. However, instead of
just leaving them in a calmed state, the assassin instead calms
the mind of the person they want to affect when in physical
contact with them. Once the mind has been calmed enough, the
body loses consciousness, and assassins are able to use their
wavelengths to induce this state. This is similar to those like
angels who use a power similar to this to knock people out. This
can be used on anyone who can be affected by the assassin's
wavelength, similar to the emotional state manipulation. This is
very useful, in which assassins can knock out people they don't
want to kill (usually use it to knock out bystanders so they
don't get involved in a fight). This works much like the
emotional state manipulation except that those affected by this
are usually knocked out by this skill rather than just being
slightly influenced in their emotional state. Unlike the
emotional state manipulation, this requires more influence,
which means the assassin has to use a stronger wavelength than
the emotional influence, and they also have to be able to
overpower the wavelength of the person they want to affect. And
as with the emotional influence, this still doesn't work on
those who are able to resist this influence, whether it's
through strength of will, or those that have specific abilities
or training to avoid being influenced in the mind by others.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Fear of Bloodlust: This is
another use of the assassin wavelength, one of which is usually
a subconscious response. When assassins are trying to blend in,
they often won't use this, but in fights or when trying to throw
opponents off, this skill is very useful. This skill works by
using the murderous intent that is given off when someone is
trying to kill others, and uses the assassin's wavelength to
weaponize that murderous intent. This skill is used when an
assassin uses their wavelength to amplify their murderous
intent, usually as a means of intimidation. When used, an
assassin's murderous intent triggers the brain of those that see
or "sense" the murderous intent, which ignites the fear center
of the brain. This usually triggers the fight or flight response
in those that see or sense this, with some of the more severe
cases often causing hallucinations. For example, one person who
used this using snake-like movements caused others to see the
aura of a snake coming from the assassin. For the most part, the
assassin have to learn this consciously as they have to learn
when to suppress themselves and when not to. However, naturally
talented assassins have been known to activate this
subconsciously when needed without the need for training,
usually when they are going for the kill of an enemy. This is
great to use against enemies, as it can cause them to hesitate,
and depending on the severity of the reaction, some even faint
or suffer seizures in fear of this aura. Any fighter knows that
hesitation in a decisive moment can cost someone their life. The
assassins utilize this as a weapon when using this skill.
However, not all opponents can be intimidated with this, and
those who are more used to murderous intent won't be as affected
by this. And those who's fight or flight responses fall into
"fight" will often respond as such (which can be bad for the
assassin as this is meant to trigger the "flight" response).
Those with strong enough mind training, or strong enough wills
in general can resist or even overcome this if they are strong
willed, or have training in overcoming their fear when affected
by this.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Opponent/Situation Reading:
Those who learn the assassin's wavelength not only learn how to
read their own wavelength, but others as well. When reading
others, this allows experienced assassins to understand their
opponents in combat, in a way that most never truly understand.
When combating opponents, assassins who use this training are
able to read other's wavelengths, assuming the opponent doesn't
have a skill to disguise their wavelengths. This gives the
assassin a method of predicting his opponents movements, in
which the wavelength will allow an assassin to know when an
opponent is going to attack and when they are not by the changes
in their wavelength. While there are many who can hide their
murderous intent, those that cannot are able to be read enough
that skilled assassins can predict an opponent's attack. Some
more experienced users can even tell if murderous intent is
focused on them from farther away, such as some who can actually
use this to tell if something like snipers are focused on them.
This skill is useful in combat, in which users who can read
these wavelengths are harder to beat in combat. Among the most
skilled of assassins, this ability can even become instinctual
to the point where the user doesn't even have to think about
reading an opponent and will instinctively read those around
them as most master assassins are always on guard against
surprise attacks. However, as mentioned, there are those that
can disguise their wavelengths as well, usually among other
assassins who can also disguise their wavelengths. Opponents who
can suppress or hide their intent (whether murderous or
otherwise) enough that they can hide it from others also cannot
be read with this. Another thing to note is that while this is a
very useful skill, assassins who use this must take care not to
become dependent on it. Master assassins usually know that this
is a supplementary skill to help them in combat and to predict
attacks, but it should never be the only skill used to read
opponents. Assassins must also rely on their own combat mastery
and their own senses to perceive opponents as well, or else they
will likely be easily defeated without being able to use this
skill on more skilled opponents that can hide their intent.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Sense Killing Blows: This is
a skill only master assassins can learn. By reading someone's
wavelength, they can learn more about it by analyzing the body.
Wavelengths are emitted from everyone and from almost every part
of their body (unless they learn to suppress it), but a master
assassin can tell which ones are vital and which ones are not.
For example, the heart beat in most opponents gives off a unique
wavelength that signals a vital area. This is not about reading
opponents, but learning to differentiate wavelengths, which is
nigh impossible for most people. However, there are a rare few
that learn to do so, whether it's through supernatural
abilities, or through experience and training of the
wavelengths. When used, assassins can utilize this by
differentiating a person's wavelengths, and through this they
can actually tell which areas are vital to someone and which are
not. For example, while many know that the heart is often a weak
point, assassins who can use this can not only locate the heart,
but can also tell in some other creatures like Celestians or
Gallifreyans that have multiple hearts by reading their
wavelength. This allows an assassin to often figure out the best
areas to strike for lethal or nonlethal attacks depending on
what they want to do. Those that use this to find kill-points
will often use this to strike vitals and more easily guarantee a
deadly strike, while some who are more non-lethal fights may
also use this to strike non-vitals with enough force to knock
someone out (which some assassins use this when they don't want
to kill opponents). This becomes a passive skill once trained
enough, where an assassin will eventually learn to differentiate
wavelengths instinctively. However, while this is a useful
skill, this is another skill that assassins should not rely on.
While it isn't known if there are skills to prevent someone from
reading their vitals vs their non-vitals, assassins must learn
to use their own senses and not rely on this skill. If they do,
assassins may become lazy when using their skills to determine
fatal vs non-fatal blows, which can cause an assassin to become
reliant on this skill. And should someone come along that can
either fool this skill, or have a wavelength not as easy to
read, the assassin may have trouble determining how to strike a
fatal blow if they don't also utilize their own senses and
combat skills. And while an assassin can read vital points, that
doesn't mean each one will be instantly fatal (as some vitals
can be damaged and still function). This only allows reading of
what are vitals and what are not, and it the assassin still has
to attack normally to damage vitals.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Wavelength Protection: This
ability controls another assassin's wavelength and it's
influence on the mind and body, allowing them to use it to
protect themselves from psychic abilities and mind manipulation
abilities (specifically other wavelength manipulation
abilities). When used, an assassin instead focuses on
manipulating their own wavelength, allowing them to protect
themselves from a number of different types of attacks. The main
one is specific to allow themselves to not only more easily read
themselves, but can suppress their own wavelengths to a degree.
For example, assassins who use this can disguise their murderous
intent, and make it so they cannot be read by others who use
wavelength abilities (not limited to just assassin wavelengths,
but other wavelengths like swordsman wavelength and similar
wavelength abilities which are just the different ways of tuning
to the same thing). In this case, assassins will use this to
make their movements and intentions unreadable to opponents,
thus protecting them from being read by opponents. Another
method of using this also comes from those that try to
manipulate wavelengths, such as other assassins that may try to
influence the assassin's wavelength. By having control over
their wavelength, they can prevent other assassins from easily
manipulating their wavelength depending on the situation
(usually the assassin with better control of their wavelength
will be the one that wins out in battles for control). For the
most part, this is an active skill where assassins learn to
protect their own wavelength. While simple to learn, it is
difficult to master completely. However, those that do master it
can eventually learn to do this instinctively, where they can
protect their wavelengths even when not conscious. However, this
takes many years of experience, not talent, to master (meaning
those with natural talents cannot learn this without
experience). And those that do learn this must learn that while
this is very useful for defending against influences on their
wavelengths, this is not a perfect defense, as some skills may
still manage to break this defense. Typically, if an assassin
tries to counter someone with better control than them, they
will often lose the battle to control their wavelengths.
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Emotional Control State:
This is a training that many go through, but assassins must
learn this more than others to maintain their self control.
Because of how dark an assassin's mind can get, they usually
must learn to control their emotions to avoid letting their
emotions get in the way of their assassin work. This is designed
to allow an assassin to focus their mind through different
methods (depending on the assassin), where they can focus the
wavelength of their minds to more easily control their emotions.
Depending on the assassins, some will often for a cold and
calculated nature, while others try to simple control their
negative emotions and allow their positive emotions to react
normally, while others will control their positive emotions and
only let out their negative emotions. This depends solely on the
assassin and how they want to train their minds. Normally, the
idea is to more easily control themselves so they don't go crazy
from all the killing they do. This is a skill that is necessary
for all assassins to learn, and can be learned a number of ways.
The easiest method is through meditation, where assassins can
focus their minds more easily and try to control their emotional
states. Every assassin will often have a different emotional
state they default to, and they must find what works best for
them. Some who don't mind killing will often have far less
restrictions, but those that want to keep their sanity usually
have to have more restrictions on what they allow in their
minds. For the most part, this is a more advanced version of
mental conditioning, and some assassins have even been put
through this training by others as well. For the most part,
assassins who don't control their emotional states usually don't
last long as assassins, as they will either break down
completely at some point or their emotions will get in the way
of their work (such as an assassin may not kill a target if they
find themselves feeling sympathy). All assassins must train in
this and find the balance of emotions and logic they want to
utilize. And like some other abilities, it is important to
realize that this is not meant to be used on its own as a crutch
so the assassin doesn't have to feel emotions. If the user
relies too heavily on this, some stronger emotions may overwhelm
them if this training were to be broken through in some way
(usually by things that overwhelm the assassin's control).
- Assassin Wavelength Manipulation: Psychic Resistance: This
skill comes with the emotional control training as a sort of
side effect. Because assassins have to keep their emotional
states under control, this training has led them to be able to
resist skills that affect their emotional states as a result of
their control. With the emotional state training, an assassin
could essentially resist certain psychic skills, or other skills
that may affect the mental state (such as demons or angels
utilizing emotional influences). Assassins have to keep a
cool-headed mental state no matter the situation, and this
training has led to assassins being able to keep that in harsher
conditions depending on the assassin. Some assassins are better
at this than others, and some have even trained this
specifically based on other mental training capabilities (Such
as some supernaturals may use this in combination with other
abilities to protect their minds). Once an assassin has learned
to control their mental states, they gain this resistance
alongside it, with assassins eventually strengthening this the
more they experience harsher conditions of their mental state.
And once mastered, some assassins can even use their mental
state training to focus out certain things. For example, someone
who uses an ability to activate the pain nerves in the body
could find that assassins with enough training can focus out the
pain (though it is not a perfect skill, so it doesn't work quite
as well as some other mental state trainings do). For the most
part, this depends on the influence and how the assassin is able
to respond, with more experienced assassins usually being able
to account for more abilities than less experienced assassins.
However, this does depend on the assassin. Not only for their
training, but also their emotional balances they maintain. For
example, those that focus negative emotions may have a harder
time blocking out negative emotions, and those that cannot focus
out certain things in their mind may not be able to use this as
effectively. This is all about focus and willpower, which is
only as strong as the assassin's mind. Skills that overpower
that willpower will overpower this, as this skill is not nearly
as tough as some other mental training skills (depending on the
assassin).
- Wavelength Manipulation: Supernatural Power Negation Immunity:
Whether it's swordsman wavelength, the assassin wavelength or
even the martial artist's wavelength manipulation, all of these
wavelengths are very similar. And they are also similar in one
particular use: All uses of wavelength are immune to
supernatural power negation. While some may think wavelength
manipulation and attunement is a supernatural ability, it is
actually not a supernatural skill. This skill is more about
attuning to senses and trying to attune one's presence through
focus and willpower. Because of this, this skill is not one that
uses supernatural power, and thus cannot be affected by power
negation. This applies to all forms of power negation whether it
is through stilled silver, or through power negation abilities.
Power negation has no effect on any of the wavelength trainings,
as long as it is not a power like the shadow wavelength (some
wavelength skills do use supernatural power, but those like
assassin, swordsman and martial arts wavelengths do not). And
since this is a skill any being can use wavelengths (though it
may not always seem like it since wavelengths take extreme
circumstances or a lot of experience before one can learn to
attune to these wavelengths), this is a skill that even normal
humans can use without any supernatural skills. This usually
comes about as a result of combat training in some form, where
experienced combatants will tap into this somehow and often
learn how to use it through focus and control of themselves. As
such, this is more of a mental and partially physical training
depending on how the wavelengths are used. For the most part,
the only thing that interrupt the wavelength skills is something
that causes the person using it to not be able to focus
properly. So if one wants to negate one's wavelength abilities,
it's actually better to affect their minds rather than try to
affect non-existent powers. If a user is not able to focus
properly, their control of their wavelengths will falter, and
this is the best way to negate a wavelength user. This means
that it is actually better to use things like psychic abilities
to counter it (as long as the opponent can account for the
mental training of the person using the wavelength training).
Combat Abilities:
- Combatant Physical Combat and Weapon Styles: There are many
combat styles out there that are able to be used by just about
anyone as well as some that are usable by different races.
Almost any being can learn combat styles, whether they are
physical combat styles or weapon styles. Depending on the
combatant, there are even some unique options for certain types
of beings, such as how spirit users have certain spirit based
styles they use. It is also possible that some users may even
develop their own combat style based on the abilities and
training. Because of how many styles are out there from official
styles of combat, to supernatural combat styles, and even a lot
of unique combat styles, it is hard to list each one. For the
most part, it comes down to what the user wants to learn and if
they can find someone to teach them certain combat styles (or
have the skill to make their own style). For the most part,
martial arts and/or weapon styles alone are quite numerous, and
depending on the preferred style of the user, there are plenty
of styles out there that a user can find to fit their own
fighting styles. There are also many who might learn
supernatural combat styles, in which some races have their own
specific combat styles. The most important aspect of combat
though for users though is learning to master their own combat
potential, and all their combat styles should usually be based
on this aspect whether it's physical combat or weapon based
combat. There are a number of combat styles available, so
listing them all is impossible, but a general common thing is
that the more styles one knows, the harder it is to master them
all. While having multiple styles does allow one to mix and
match aspects of styles more easily, trying to train in too many
styles can limit one's combat ability since they have to learn
many different aspects rather than focus on just one. However,
while training in only one or two styles means one can master
them better than if they focused on multiple styles, this also
means that those that specialize in specific styles usually are
limited by that style's combat (for example, a grapple based
style would be focused around grapples and most likely wouldn't
use skills non-grapple based styles use). Another thing to note
is that each style has its own strengths and weaknesses. For
example, grapple and throwing styles require close combat and
making physical contact with opponents, or styles relying on
power may be countered by speed-based styles that can dodge the
power based style. While James is trained in the basics of many
styles, he doesn't practice any one style specifically. With his
natural talent for combat, he typically sticks to not practicing
fancy styles, mostly because it makes him less predictable, and
instead uses an improvising style, where he reacts as he fights,
and doesn't practice martial arts in the traditional sense
(though he does train in combat and is a very skilled
combatant).
- Combatant Weapons Training and Weapon Counter Styles: During
their time fighting and learning combat, many combatants often
become a master of weapons, in which most have trained in a
number of weapons from swords to knives to staves, and even many
knowing how to use guns. For the most part, most have to learn
different weapons to learn different combat styles, so
combatants will often figure out how weapons work into their
styles over time and find weapons that they are comfortable
using. For example, some may not be much for using guns in
combat, but there are many combatants who have been trained in
gun style combat, where many have become expert marksmen even
though they don't like to use guns. However, the main purposes
to train with so many weapons is not just to find what the
combatant is comfortable with, but to train them in how to
combat and counter weapons. For example, training in guns shows
a combatant what to look for in those that use guns, such as
noticing when the enemy is focused on aiming, or using the
barrel of the gun as a visual reference to see where the
opponent is aiming their gun. This works for many weapon types,
where combatants learn to understand how weapons are used and
learn to recognize how their opponents will use weapons against
them. While they can get this training in specific weapon styles
(which are available as long as someone has someone to learn
from), combatants also learn how to counter supernatural
weapons, where combatants often train to combat supernaturals
and learn to fight supernatural weapons. Depending on the
combatant, many are experts in weapons from using them, to even
learning how to counter them depending on what they want to do.
As experienced warriors would say: If one wants to counter
something, they must first understand it themselves. This allows
those that train with weapons a much more knowledgeable use of
weapons, which they can take advantage of. While most do tend to
favor certain types of weapons depending on the combatants, they
can use most any weapon to some extent, with most having varying
skill with others depending on their training. And depending on
the combatants own fighting styles, learning to use some weapons
may be necessary as things like using weapons styles require
learning weapons and how to both use and fight them. James is a
master gun user, but also is great with knives, and bladed
weapons when he needs to be. He has even out-fenced experts with
swords and blades despite not using them very often.
- Combatant Weapon Training: Weapon and Marksmen Expert: Many
combatants who train in weapons learn how to master weapons,
from bladed weapons to even guns. When it comes to guns, many
combatants can use different kinds of weapon, even to the point
that some can learn to utilize specialty weapons not readily
available depending on the access they have. This gives
combatants an easy adaptability to most kinds of weapons, where
they learn to utilize almost any kind of weapon. This
adaptability in fighting, usually thanks to intense weapons
training, allows them to easily adapt to using most weapons even
if they're not experienced with them (to which most can at least
use weapons they're not experienced with fairly effectively).
However, those that train in weapons will often have weapons
they specialize in specifically, whether it's bladed weapons or
guns. Thanks to combat training, not only are combatants trained
in weapons (usually by being exposed to them and learning to use
them), but can adapt their fighting styles to utilize weapons,
such as how some styles like gun kata or CQC are meant to be
used with guns. And while using guns, those trained with guns
become extremely accurate from their training with weapons.
Thanks to this, highly trained combatants almost always fire
their shots accurately to the point that they shoot at the spot
they were aiming at (Not meaning they will always hit opponents,
but more just that their bullets are shot at the spot they are
aimed at whether the opponent is there or not). Many combatants
are expert marksmen, in which some even get special training for
using guns depending on the combatant. And for those who are
advanced marksmen, they can usually account for most enemies
movement in battle when aiming at enemies (not always accurate,
but many can try to anticipate movement and adapt their shots
accordingly). As such, combatants with enough training with
weapons are not to be underestimated in battle. And depending on
the experience of the combatant, some may have experience to
back up their training that will make them even more dangerous.
This becomes even more dangerous among supernaturals who have
supernatural senses to help them, though humans can still learn
just as easily even without help from special abilities or
technology. James is a master marksmen, having been firing a gun
for many years, and is accurate enough he can usually aim fairly
well, and account for enemy movements pretty well. And with his
Walther PPK that has good stopping power, he usually is able to
at least incapacitate his enemies with his marksmanship alone
(though his other weapons often help as well).
- Combatant Supernatural Hunting Weapons Experts: Since many
combatants have to learn how to fight supernaturals, almost all
combatants have to learn to use supernatural hunter weapons in
some form, so that they have weapons to use against supernatural
threats. This could include things like silver knives, angel
knives, demon-killing weapons, or even using certain materials
like varanium and stilled silver. This usually depends on the
combatant and what they have available to use, as combatants
should prepare for whatever kinds of supernaturals they might
fight. For example, before going into a werewolf infested
forest, a combatant may grab some silver knives to use, or they
would use special holy or demon killing weapons if they were
fighting demons or other demonic type creatures. There are a
number of supernatural hunter weapons that combatants can learn
how to use (depending on their training and preference), and
most usually have to learn how to use them to survive against
supernaturals. And depending on the skills of the combatant,
there is a chance that some can even develop their own
supernatural hunting weapons depending on their knowledge and
skills. But for the most part, it is hard to quantify every
option out there, since there are so many. Depending on the user
and the situations they may face, this usually determines what
the combatant will usually carry with them. Users may also
choose weapons based on what they have available, such as some
who are a part of groups may have access to certain weapons
others don't have. This also includes certain materials that
might be available, where users can take advantage of certain
materials used to fight supernaturals. The biggest examples of
this kind of material are varanium and stilled silver, which
have become popular for fighting supernaturals due to the
effects they have on supernaturals. Some races may even have
their own methods for taking on supernaturals. For the most
part, this mostly covers weapons specifically designed for
fighting supernatural opponents, as normal weapons are usually
covered under any weapons training. And like all weapons, these
kinds of weapons all have counters depending on the weapons, and
combat styles using these weapons usually also have counters as
well by other styles. As head of the Nightstalkers group, James
is heavily trained in supernatural hunting weapons, and uses
them as needed against enemies.
- MI-6 Training: MI-6 Tech and Gadget Mastery: This is a
specific training that goes to those in MI-6, and one that James
also gives to others who train under the Nightstalkers. This
training is all about mastering the gadgets and tech that MI-6
uses through Q branch, which is often tech and gadgets that most
people aren't aware of. For example, it takes a lot of skill to
fire a grapple wire through a belt buckle effectively, but those
with enough training in Q branch devices can master subtle
devices. There are a lot of different gadgets and tech that Q
branch develops, many of which do different things whether in
combat or out of combat. One major example is mastering the
vehicles of Q branch, which often have guns, rockets or may even
have random things like stealth generation. In order to use the
vehicles effectively, one has to learn how they operate and
learn how to best utilize the skills of the vehicle. For the
most part, Q branch's items are mostly about deception and
surprising opponents. For example, how many opponents expect a
watch to fire a laser, or a phone to have a taser function?
Depending on the tech and gadgets, agents of MI-6 have a number
of options and weapons they can get. And as a result, the MI-6
agents have to have a proper mastery of this tech and these
gadgets in order to do their job effectively, whether it's
against humans or supernatural creatures. Those in MI-6 that
master this kind of training are able to wield any gadget or
tech that Q branch designs (usually), and can usually use this
to help them more easily learn how to use these techs
effectively. This also helps train an agent's adaptability,
where they must learn to adapt their combat to more easily
utilize these gadgets. And as a result, this often makes those
that train with these gadgets more easily to change their combat
styles in general. So this training doesn't just work on
learning gadgets, but also helps the agents become better
combatants through adaptability. However, while these gadgets
are good and useful, agents should not become so dependent on
them that they cannot complete missions without them. These
gadgets are meant to assist agents, but one should not get to a
point where they only rely on these gadgets to attain victory
against enemies. Which means that agents must continue to train
themselves so that they don't become too reliant on these
gadgets. The length of time James has been working at MI-6, as
well as his training, has contributed to James gaining a mastery
of not only the gadgets, but the tech and vehicles that Q branch
produces. James' mastery of this tech has gotten to a point
where he can often even use the tech better than even Q, the
leader of Q branch who designs most of these gadgets and techs.
However, James does tend to have bad luck, or he just doesn't
keep up with maintaining his gadgets, so he rarely ever returns
them in functioning condition as he usually ends up breaking
them or otherwise damaging them. This is especially bad when it
comes to vehicles, because James has bad luck with his enemies
destroying almost any vehicle he gets into. There have been
times where missions have ended with him only bringing back a
piece or two of some of the cars he's been assigned by Q branch.
- MI-6 Training: Vehicle Mastery: This is another skill that
agents of MI-6 need to learn to utilize. Because some MI-6
agents may travel the world, they have to learn to utilize many
manners of vehicles, some of which are more unconventional than
others. For example, depending on where one goes, some agents
have to use specific types of cars or vehicles, or may find
themselves in situations where they have to use unfamiliar
vehicles. As such, it is important for MI-6 agents to have such
training in how to use vehicles of many kinds. Depending on the
person, their training may be different, or they may have
affinities for different kinds of vehicles, but overall, the
agents have to learn as many vehicles as possible in order to be
ready for whatever they may have to use. However, this isn't
limited to just cars and other four wheeled vehicles. For
example, driving through a military facility, one agent drove a
tank into the streets and drove it to chase down an enemy
because it was what was available. Another thing to note is that
agents may also have to learn to drive things like submarines or
ships, or even learn to pilot aircraft. Most agents are fully
trained on how ships, aircraft, helicopters and even submarines
work, and how they are set up. This allows agents to not only
know how they work if they end up having to take one down, but
also allows them to pilot them depending on how skilled they
are. Most agents have to learn this in some way, depending on
what the agent does. Usually, this also goes along with the Q
branch training as well, since Q branch does modify a lot of
cars that agents have to adapt to. And again, this also becomes
more about adaptability in situations, as agents can be far more
creative if they know how to utilize more types of things to
help them overcome situations they find themselves in. Of
course, this mastery depends on the person and their training,
since not all agents are going to know how to do every little
thing when it comes to understanding vehicles. And while it is
possible to master a lot of vehicles, that doesn't mean the
agent will know how best to handle the situation with said
vehicle. For example, if a user drives a tank, and comes to a
body of water, there isn't much to do to get the tank across the
body of water without a bridge. For James, he is a good master
of vehicles and tech, and knows things most don't know, such as
how to load weapons in vehicles like tanks, subs and even how to
pilot aircraft and helicopters. And like his gadgets, James has
a bit of bad luck when it comes to vehicles, and a bit of
recklessness. While he is knowledgeable, most enemies end up
destroying his vehicles during missions, or he ends up
destroying the vehicles himself to throw enemies off. It is rare
for James to ever keep vehicles for very long before they get
damaged, or just outright destroyed.
- Supernatural vs Supernatural Hunter Training (Most combatants
only use one side of training): There are two variations of
supernatural combat training. There is the supernatural side of
training that lets them learn to defend themselves and fight
threats (as well as taking out supernatural hunters), and then
there is the supernatural hunter side where they will learn to
hunt down and kill supernaturals. Typically, the training
depends on the user, and each side has its benefits and
downsides. Most users learn one side of combat training, where
they will learn what ever side they fall in. For example,
supernatural hunters fall into supernatural hunter training, and
supernaturals often fall into the supernatural training. This is
because supernatural hunters learn to fight supernaturals, while
supernaturals learn to defend themselves against supernatural
hunters (and sometimes other supernaturals). Because of this,
the training on supernaturals or hunters depend on what side the
combatant falls on. This applies to almost every kind of
combatant, as it is important to determine how one will apply
their combat training. As such, users must often learn one side
or another, though many can study how the other side fights in
order to learn how to counter them (which many often do). For
every aspect of training, there are these two types of training,
since the training is usually determined by what a combatant
will face. While some may not train in either (usually
non-supernaturals who don't want to learn combat), those that
train in combat often have to learn this due to all the possible
threats they may encounter. For example, human combatants often
learn supernatural hunter training, unless the human is a
supernatural themselves, in which case they may favor
supernatural training. Users have to usually chose one or the
other, as most don't really have much use for both combat
styles. The only real exception to this is supernaturals who
become supernatural hunters (which is a very rare case), because
they not only have to counter supernaturals, but also have to
counter supernatural hunters who may come after them if they
find out they are supernaturals. Both sides often counter each
other, so supernaturals are usually countered by supernatural
hunter training, and vice versa. However, both sides also have
training to counter the same users, such as supernaturals
learning to counter other supernaturals or hunters countering
other hunters. James is a supernatural hunter, and uses standard
supernatural hunter tactics, as well as some unorthodox methods
for hunting supernaturals thanks to his training and his gadgets
he gets from Q branch.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Strengths and
Weaknesses Expert: Since most supernatural hunters have to fight
supernaturals and have to learn in order to survive their
fights, most learn everything they can about other races and
become experts in almost every kind of creature, and while they
often specialize in specific types of supernaturals (Like some
may become vampire hunters and specialize in hunting vampires),
most supernatural hunters can learn to fight many other types of
creatures as well depending on their training. And depending on
their training, most supernatural hunters have to learn how to
fight different types of creatures whether they want to or not
once they start hunting (as many supernatural hunters will often
be targeted by supernaturals whether they want to be or not).
Depending on the supernatural hunter, some will search libraries
on all manners of supernatural lore and creatures depending on
what they have access to, and over time they will come to know
the strengths and weaknesses of many types of races, including
spells, exorcisms and traps used against almost all manners of
supernaturals. Depending on the age and experience of the
supernatural hunter, most learn as much about killing other
supernaturals as they can, as the more they know about fighting
supernaturals, the higher their chance of survival against a
wide variety of possible threats they may encounter. Of course,
supernatural hunters typically use this opportunity to learn
what they can, but most typically are only limited by the
information they can find and what information they can retain.
However, the best way to learn to fight supernaturals is through
experience, though knowledge of supernaturals is also very
important. It is important to balance knowledge and experience
when fighting supernaturals, and being sure to know the
strengths and weaknesses of most supernaturals if they want to
survive, since threats may come in all shapes and sizes. Of
course, this can be limited depending on the knowledge of a
user, where some may not know about certain creatures, such as
how the The'Galin were not in any history books before they just
suddenly appeared, and only angels and demons from before time
began knew of them. James has been studying supernaturals and
how to fight them since he joined the Nightstalkers team from
his original job as a special agent, so he knows quite a bit
about most kinds of supernaturals at this point, and has fought
many different types of them.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Hunting and
Tracking/Tracking Avoidance: For the most part, supernatural
hunters have to learn specifically how to track supernaturals if
they are ever to find supernaturals to hunt down. Because
supernaturals are getting smarter and learning to counter
supernatural hunters, supernatural hunters have to be creative
in how they handle tracking supernaturals, which also means
supernatural hunters must adapt in response in a never-ending
cycle. Usually, training can involve things like being able to
analyze foot steps of creatures to find out more about where
their opponent is going, while some more skilled supernatural
hunters can use tracking more effectively to learn more about
the supernaturals they're tracking. For example, many
supernatural hunters don't rely on supernatural senses, so they
may use foot prints to track an opponent, but master level
supernatural hunters can learn what kind of creature made the
prints by analyzing things like how deep the footprint is and
the size of the stride being a way to tell a rough estimate of
the weight of the make of the tracks, or even traces of elements
in the footprints could be signs of certain supernaturals (such
as demons leave behind a sulfuric trace wherever they go and is
also in their footsteps). In addition, supernatural hunters are
also trained to listen to the environment, in which the
environment can be a great way to track opponents. For example,
most know that when everything in a forest goes quiet, even the
bugs, it usually means there is a predator nearby, and some
supernatural hunters can use that to tell when they are close to
a possible target. This skill is something that not only
requires knowledge of tracking, and using the environment, but
also requires knowledge of supernaturals as well. For example,
some werecreatures actually jump through trees in the forest
rather than walk on the ground, in which supernatural hunters
have to understand that and use that knowledge to their
advantage. Supernatural hunters usually have a sense of when
creatures are around them, and most are trained specifically to
track supernatural creatures. Most have come up with many ways
to track supernaturals and constantly change their strategies,
as the world of supernatural hunting is rapidly changing as
supernaturals come to learn supernatural hunter tricks for
hunting. And while human supernatural hunters learn to use
hunting and tracking without supernatural senses, many
supernatural hunters that may have other supernatural abilities
of their own may also have supernatural senses that can also
help them more easily track or sense potential enemies they may
encounter, or potential enemies that might be tracking them.
James is an expert tracker of supernaturals and even humans,
even if they try to live off the grid. James is great at
tracking all kinds of people down, human or supernatural.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Exorcism, Weakness and Trap
Knowledge: Most supernatural hunters have to learn how to use
exorcisms and traps for a multitude of creatures and
mythologies, due to exorcisms and traps being something that can
possibly save their lives against certain types of enemies. Due
to supernatural hunters having to learn about a number of
supernaturals, and having to adapt to many situations, most have
to learn extensively what supernaturals are weak to, and how to
cast out stronger supernaturals than they can handle if they
want to survive. Supernatural hunters can use exorcisms and
traps in order to take advantage of other races weaknesses, and
typically use this on other creatures that are vulnerable to
exorcisms and traps as a means to overcome them more easily. For
example, almost any supernatural and human these days know that
holy oil works well for trapping angels, and many even know
demonic exorcisms to exorcise angels back to Heaven. For the
most part, they also know how most supernaturals operate, as
they have to know the differences between supernatural creatures
and use whatever weakness for the creatures they are trying to
learn to overcome. Most supernatural hunters seek as many ways
to exorcise and trap beings as possible, specifically for
finding ways to trap stronger enemies they may have to run away
from, or finding unique ways to counter some supernaturals who
have come up with tricks of their own as more and more
supernaturals are trained in supernatural hunter tactics. As
such, many supernatural hunters that are experienced have had
the time to build up their knowledge and even amateur
supernatural hunters have learned about traps and exorcisms to
some degree as there are numbers of cases where knowledge of
this can help save a hunter's life if used properly even against
some stronger opponents. Some supernatural hunters have learned
a lot about these not just through books, but by watching other
supernatural hunters and sometimes even watching supernaturals.
Some even have unique ways to take advantage of these based on
their knowledge and creativity, such as one set of supernatural
hunters, who came up with the idea to carve devil traps onto
bullets in order to prevent a demon from being able to leave the
body they are in, which supernaturals took and used to counter
demons as well. And depending on the supernatural hunter, some
may even have to counter other supernatural hunters as well
since some supernatural hunters see others as rivals. Since
James has led the supernatural hunter group of the
Nightstalkers, James has easily learned most of this, knowing
many of the best ways to trap and capture supernaturals, or even
kill them when needed.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Supernatural Hunter Counter
Experts: Because of the rivalry between some supernatural hunter
groups, there are some supernatural hunter groups that fight
each other. Because of this, most supernatural hunters also have
to worry about other supernatural hunter groups, or some
supernatural hunter hunter groups who use their own tactics
against them, which even applies to spirit users who become
supernatural hunters. Because of this, supernatural hunters have
to be aware of when groups are using their own tactics, and they
have to adapt and counter those tactics when they arise. This
training also teaches supernatural hunters how to avoid certain
traps and tracking that other supernaturals will use, with some
groups training their supernatural hunters how to counter the
supernatural hunter group rivals of the group they're trained by
(For example, the Christian churches may have rivalries with
different churches supernatural hunter groups, or certain other
secret groups like the Men of Letters may refuse to cooperate
with other groups). Because of this, it's also important for
supernatural hunters to realize that their enemies are not
always supernaturals, but sometimes other humans and other
supernatural hunters. This mostly applies to supernaturals that
double as supernatural hunters (and may apply to spirit users),
as they often come under scrutiny for hunting their own kind and
some human supernatural groups won't let them operate as
supernatural hunters in fear they may turn on humans. Because of
this, supernatural hunters are not only weary of supernaturals
they hunt, but also of other supernatural hunters (though many
supernatural hunters often form groups for better survival
chances). To an extent, supernatural hunters have to be weary of
supernatural hunters they might come across, though most have to
learn when other supernatural hunters are enemies and when they
are allies, or else they could make unnecessary enemies. Of
course, this also works to counter when supernaturals use this
as a means to counter supernatural hunters, which is a tactic
that many supernatural hunters are seeing more and more of in
the current days. While James has not had a lot of experience
with supernatural hunters trying to kill him, he does expect
almost anything when it comes to hunting supernaturals. While he
does usually manage to smooth-talk his way through most
encounters with people and work with other supernatural hunters
instead of making them his enemies, he is ready for any fights
he might have.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Presence Suppression/Crowd
Blending: Most supernatural hunters have to learn how to blend
into crowds and learn to avoid suspicion in order to avoid being
discovered by others, specifically the supernaturals they are
hunting. Supernatural hunters often hide themselves when out and
about, since supernaturals can be anywhere especially after
supernaturals were revealed to the masses. While secrecy is not
a focus anymore, supernatural hunters still learn to blend into
crowds and learn to avoid suspicion from normal people, though
it's mostly to avoid supernatural attention. And because many
supernaturals also live in the open by learning to blend into
crowds, this even more important to avoid dangerous
supernaturals who might try to take them out if they are
discovered. As such, the ability to blend into a crowd is still
just as important for supernatural hunters as it is for
supernaturals. For the most part, supernatural hunters often
learn the best ways to avoid drawing attention to themselves in
crowds, learning methods to keep suspicion off them (usually by
using things like false identities or using specific clothes for
the area they are in). For example, some supernatural hunters
will have find ways to keep their weapons or supernatural
hunting items hidden while in public, often wearing casual
clothes or clothes to fit whatever area they're in (such as
wearing clothes common to the area they're in to avoid looking
out of place) that can allow them to not show anything they
might carry with them. Unlike supernaturals who usually have the
ability to suppress their presence, supernatural hunters often
rely less on abilities (though some supernatural hunters may
learn certain skills to help if they have the right training),
and most tend to rely more on creativity and finding the best
ways to not draw attention to oneself. Crowds can be very
useful, as supernatural hunters can hide in crowds and are
harder to detect by supernaturals since a large crowd makes it
difficult to single out specific presences. Supernatural
hunters, no matter how they're trained, use this to blend into
crowds whenever they can, as they often don't want to draw
attention to themselves, which has become quite important over
the years both to hide from the supernaturals they hunt. James
is very charismatic, but thanks to his assassin wavelength
training, he can actually remain virtually invisible in a crowd.
- Master Infiltrator/Supernatural Hunter Special Agent: Stealth
and Infiltration: Supernatural hunters can be very stealthy when
they want to be, or when they really need to be. This especially
applies to those that hide among humans, where they have to
learn how to hide among humans and how to not be noticed in
large groups. Depending on the hunter, many can be very stealthy
when they're not trying to draw attention to themselves, being
very skilled in avoiding encounters when they want to, or
manipulating a group to hide in so that they can avoid certain
kinds of attention depending on the hunter. There are usually
two ways hunters go about things. The first is the more
supernatural way, where the supernatural or supernatural hunter
may kill all those in their way, depending on their skill. The
second is that they usually sneak around and don't kill unless
necessary. Supernatural hunters who are human (or can pass for
human), and/or misdirecting those they may encounter can be very
skilled infiltrators, and even better when paired with any other
abilities (Depending on the abilities the user has). This has
made many hunters great at hiding in plain sight, and this can
be made even easier with those with assassin wavelength training
that can make themselves not easily noticed. Depending on the
person, some are smarter about this than others, and some may
even have specific abilities for this depending on the hunter,
such as some may utilize supernatural hunter spells to help them
(such as the Men of Letters have certain spells that can be used
by anyone that allow things like temporary presence
suppression). However, many hunters have had to learn this in
some aspect. The smarter supernaturals are, the better the
hunters have to be at hiding in crowds and the better they have
to be at infiltration. And this includes them often being able
to sneak into places that are guarded by supernaturals
(depending on their skill level), as their stealth is about more
than just groups, but also about infiltrating enemy groups. For
the most part, older and more experienced hunters usually
understand the importance of hiding from others, and some more
experienced hunters can even hide from supernaturals. However,
skilled enough trackers can still track down hunters based on
their skill level depending on the opponent. Even before
becoming a supernatural hunter, James was a very skilled agent
who specialized in infiltration and stealth, which has made him
a great agent for hunting down threats, since he has done it for
most of his life after being trained.
- Murderous Intent Sense: This lets those with this sense when
an attack is coming, usually by being able to tell when someone
has the intent to kill. This is a skill most warriors get by
fighting constantly for many years, learning how to sense
someone's murderous intent usually through encountering it
first-hand enough that they start to develop a strange sense
that lets them read people and be able to tell when someone has
the intention to kill. This lets the user read their environment
as well as the people around them in order to see what attacks
might be coming their way by reading an opponent's body language
and the "sense" of people around them. This gives them a passive
sense of reading people who might try to hurt them, as they can
sense when someone is ready to attack, and most people can
usually sense when that murderous intent is aimed at them. Some
can sense this literally as an aura through things like ki
sense, but most sense it in an instinctive way once their
instincts have been developed through constant fighting and
battles. This gives the user time to predict an attack, and to
some extent, helps the person predict what opponents will do in
a fight by reading their murderous intent. For example, by
reading an opponent's body language, such as how they move or
how tense they might be, a user of this can read opponents
movements in order to predict how they will fight or attack, as
some have developed entire fighting styles predicting people
through this method, such as the Hiten Mitsurugi sword style
that uses this to predict opponents. However, this sense is not
perfect, and some opponents can't be read if they can disguise
their murderous intent or they learn skills that can trick
people with this sense. Those who have no ability to feel
emotions also don't give off this murderous intent, as those who
don't have emotions don't feel the intent to kill. This sense is
usually pretty reliable unless one can suppress their murderous
intent, and is usually instinctive among people who have seen a
lot of battle and those that have fought for their lives
multiple times. The only real way to develop this is experience,
as no amount of training can truly grasp how this sense truly
works as it is only a passive ability that one can pick up by
experiencing murderous intent firsthand from enough people that
they learn to recognize the murderous intent in the feelings
they get from people. James has highly tuned sense, and can
sense this very easily. He is a very skilled at knowing when
someone has their eyes on him, despite not having any
supernatural senses.
Passive Abilities:
- Supernatural Hunter Tattooed Markings: When it comes to
markings, supernatural hunters often have a number of markings
they can use on themselves. These marks are often tattooed on
the body, so that they cannot be removed by normal means.
Depending on the marking, some serve different purposes than
others, with some also being more common than others. For the
most part, different markings can serve different purposes, in
which they usually serve a defensive purpose. For example, some
demon hunters will put anti-demon wards on themselves to grant
them specific immunity to being possessed by demons, or some may
use special spell circles to negate demon abilities that they
may tattoo those marks so that their bodies are less likely to
be damaged by demon power (it doesn't stop it completely, but
does weaken demon power used against the person with certain
anti-demon marks). Many supernatural hunters will focus on
whatever they hunt the most, such as those that hunt demons will
usually focus more on anti-demon marks than something like
anti-angel marks. Depending on the knowledge of the person,
there are many marks that can be put on someone for different
purposes. Groups like the Men of Letters have a large library of
marks that can be put on people, and those that can use certain
symbols can tattoo them on their body to make them more
accessible. For example, alchemists who use specific spell
circles to use their alchemy may tattoo the alchemy symbol their
bodies so that they don't need to constantly draw the symbols
around them. This usually depends on the person and what marks
they want to get on them, but there are many options. However,
once marked, supernatural hunters cannot remove said tattoos
without a lengthy tattoo removal process. While there are some
with regenerative abilities that could just cut the tattoo with
the skin out and regenerate it, those without regenerative
abilities cannot simply just remove markings on them. This means
that if the markings become useless, removing them is not easy.
And those that do use these markings, an opponent can interrupt
the markings by cutting out the skin of the tattoo. Once enough
of the tattoo has been interrupted (such as cutting the tattooed
skin open separating parts of the tattoo), then the tattoo may
become useless. Depending on the mark, it is usually best to
keep the marks secret, and put them on parts of the body people
won't see. And depending on the mark, not all marks that allow
defensive uses will be effective. For example, an anti-demon
tattoo won't stop all demons from being able to affect the
person with the tattoo. For example, an anti-demon tattoo won't
stop all demons from being able to affect the person with the
tattoo, as some stronger demons can still possess people despite
an anti-demon tattoo (usually those at demon lord level or
above). James only has a few marks, such as a silver cross he
tattooed on himself to allow himself to grant resistance to
vampires and werewolves, and an anti-demon and anti-primordial
mark that makes him resistant to demon and primordial beings
powers (only weakening powers used on him, not negating damage
completely). He also has an anti-possession mark (more in next
marking).
- Supernatural Hunter Markings: Anti-Possession Mark: This is a
very specific mark, designed to be used by supernatural hunters.
This mark is tattooed on the body, and then the mark makes it so
beings cannot possess the person who is marked with this mark.
This was originally designed to be used against demons, in which
this mark protected someone from being able to be possessed by
demons. This mark works to counter most types of possession, and
slight modification can even make this able to negate
telekinetic abilities of supernaturals (preventing things like
demons and angels from using their telekinetic abilities on the
person marked). This is a very useful mark, and is a must for
supernatural hunters who are seeking to go up against spiritual
creatures that can possess others. Depending on the mark used,
there are a few anti-possession marks. For example, a spirit
realm sigil could be used to protect one's spirit against
spiritual opponents, such as using it to ward away dark spirits,
or anti-demon warding could be used to specifically counter
demons. For the most part, this is a general warding against
most creatures that use possession, and is a great mark for
supernatural hunters to have. Of course, while this is great for
things like demons, this does not work against things like angel
possession that require the person's permission. As such, people
can be possessed by creatures that require permission to possess
someone, with the biggest example being angel possession. Since
it requires permission, giving permission overrides this mark
for these types of situation. Also, while general markings for
anti-possession usually aren't as strong as specific
anti-possession marks (such as spirit realm sigils are much
stronger for warding off dark spirits), they do cover more
ground. And depending on the possession type, this may work
better against some possession types than others. Some beings
may also be immune to this ability, depending on the creature
(though not many are unless they're creatures who require
permission to possess someone). For the most part, this also can
be taken out of play if one causes enough damage to the tattoo
(usually through cutting the skin under the tattoo). James has
an anti-possession tattoo that is meant to cover general
possession, and he can only be possessed if he allows himself to
be.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Fast Healing: Whether human or
supernatural, anyone can train in combat. Many who train may not
have supernatural healing or other recovery skills that are
specific to some races. However, through physical focus and
training, combatants can learn to train their bodies to heal
more quickly, by training their bodies into peak physical
condition. Even among combatants with regenerative abilities,
combatants will often train their bodies up so that they heal as
quickly as possible. For example, a deep cut (as long as it
doesn't puncture an organ or other vital spot) could heal in a
few days (whereas most humans it would take months-years to
heal), or certain smaller injuries could heal in a matter of
hours. This utilizes peak human condition to train the bodies,
and is not actually supernatural regeneration. For those with
regeneration, it is still useful to learn this, as healing more
quickly and effectively through combat training reduces the
amount of work a supernatural regeneration would have to do
(thus saving energy). However, those without supernatural
healing rely on this more because this is their only real means
of recovery. because this is gained through simple combat
training and not through supernatural power, this particular
faster healing is not negated by things like varanium or other
regeneration negation abilities since this power is not any form
of supernatural or even tech based regeneration. While it is
possible to enhance healing with cybernetics and use nanobots
produced by certain companies to heal even faster for tech based
regeneration in many cases, it is still useful to learn this
training. As one might imagine though, this is only an enhanced
normal human healing, and doesn't use supernatural regeneration
which means that certain injuries cannot be healed naturally.
For example, a combatant who loses a limb cannot regrow a limb
simply from using this healing, and this normal healing cannot
be used to heal from fatal injuries without help from someone
who can heal them before they die. This means that users with
this can still be killed like normal if they are forced to only
rely on this. And those with supernatural regeneration still
have the same weaknesses as normal, such as regeneration
negation.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Body Strengthening: This is
another peak combat training skill that comes with training
one's combat abilities. For combatants, most know that their
body is their most important weapon they have, and have to train
it to the best of their ability. Just like other combat training
skills, combatants train this skill up as they train in combat,
and can learn a number of ways to combat enemies. For the most
part, this skill usually involves training one's physical stats
to their peak, specifically strength, speed and agility. While
durability and defense are also trained, this training focuses
on strengthening the body's offensive skills, and training their
movement options and combat options to their peak. Those that
train in combat learn to build themselves up in strength, speed
and agility. Some even work on things like flexibility and
fluidity, so that they can move more easily. Typically, each
combatant has a different mix-up of stats, where the specific
stats are usually determined by a number of factors such as body
type, build, and even race the combatant is (different races may
have different physical capabilities, such as how werewolves may
focus more on agility and movement). This can be trained a
number of ways, but the best way one can train is to just keep
pushing themselves physically, and eventually train themselves
to the level that they want. Those that have this training can
reach higher levels of physical ability that those without
training can attain, and those that use this push their physical
combat abilities to their max ability. While this isn't strong
enough to push everyone into the highest levels of combat, this
does often help even humans train to levels that allow them to
at least try to keep up with some higher level opponents.
Typically, the training depends on the combatant and their
specific combat talents, but this is something that every
combatant can learn even if they are not a supernatural.
However, those that train this should know that this training
can be countered by opponents with higher stats, or opponents
with stats that counter theirs (such as using speed to counter
pure strength). Each combatant usually has specific
combinations, but each combination has some form of counter in
some way among other combatants.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Enhanced Precision Body
Control/Movement: For almost any combatant whether they're human
or supernatural, few things are as frustrating as attacking an
enemy and not being able to be precise or not properly using
one's physical abilities. Any combatant that learns combat is
going to, at some point, have to learn precision movement and
control of their actions in order to utilize their combat
training to the best of their ability. In order to train this,
combatants build themselves up in learning to control their
movements, and train themselves to precisely control their body
and actions, usually through combat training. In this training,
a combatant learns to specifically move and put their force of
movement as fully into their attacks and movements as they can,
which is designed to allow them to focus on movement and control
during training so they can use precision control of their
bodies when fighting. Depending on the combatant, there are many
ways to do this, but most combatants train by learning to move
with precision in their basic training, only moving the exact
amount that they want to move. Upon learning to do this, they
not only gain specific movement abilities, but advanced trained
combatants often learn to better focus their physical strength
and abilities with their more efficient movement and control. At
first, combatants may not control their movements great, but as
they get more experienced, they eventually learn to control
their movement instinctively, as they eventually learn to do
this passively. Some can even use this training to more easily
move in battle, reducing the effects of things like friction or
air resistance as some learn to move more efficiently as they
train. This is a necessary skill that increases one's accuracy
in combat, and is a necessary skill for any combatant since all
combatants have to move effectively to be able to fight at all.
Those that aren't skilled in this may not be able to move as
effectively, and if they hesitate in battle, it can mean the
difference between life and death.
- Peak Combat Training Skill: Enhanced Durability and Defense:
Just like with other combatant training, combatant's also train
their body's physical durability and defense as a means to
protect themselves and make their bodies stronger. While
different combatants train in different ways, most train
specifically to push their durability and ability to take hits
to the limit of their potential, whether they are human or
supernatural. Many often have to train themselves up in some
way, depending on what they may have to face. Depending on the
combatant, they may have a number of methods to train up their
durability and defense. For example, more extreme combatants
cause constant damage and train the body to heal and recover
faster, or some may focus more on training through body
strengthening combat techniques. As some may know, the body can
strengthen itself as it gets hurt in order to adapt, such as how
bones will grow stronger after being broken, which is often
something combatants can take advantage of. This is made even
more effective among supernaturals who use this, because with
things like supernatural regeneration, this can be even more
effective since supernaturals recover faster. Some combatants
have become strong enough with this training to gain strong
enough durability that their body becomes hard to pierce as they
strengthen their bodies. Most combatants usually train up their
durability as much as they can so that they are ready to take on
many forms of threats, and thanks to this, many have to train
their defense and durability as a result to avoid being killed
by stronger opponents. Of course, as one might imagine, this
durability training doesn't prepare for every eventuality, such
as some stronger enemies can still overpower this training.
Overall, while many combatants can show that they are strong,
there are still many out there that can overpower and kill them.
- Unnatural Combat Talent: Gifted Instinctive and Creative
Adaptive Reaction: James is a bit of a unique case, in which his
recruitment by MI-6 happened because of his adaptive combat
talent. James is a much more adaptive and creative combatant
than most people are, and can adapt in combat much more easily
than others. James is a unique case, where he seems to have an
instinctive and adaptive combat talent, which lets him more
easily combat his opponents. When in combat, James will often
find ways to win his fights that others may not think of. While
he does often use his gadgets these days to take full advantage
of this adaptive talent, James actually has a great instinct
when it comes to adapting to opponents. As he fights, he may
take more hits in the beginning, but as he adapts to an enemy's
fighting style, he can eventually learn to overcome the combat
style of his enemies. This style would help him greatly when he
was trained by MI-6, and even more when he became the leader of
the Nightstalker supernatural hunter group. This is not just his
intelligence, but is also his instinctive reactions which allow
him to react more easily to situations than most would be able
to. By relying on his instincts as well as experience, James has
a huge advantage in many combat situations, due to the fact he
can adapt to almost any kind of fighting style. While James does
train in combat and keeps himself trained to the peak of
physical performance, he relies more on creative and adaptive
combat to confuse his opponents and keep them from predicting
his combat moves, which works pretty well in his case. The
reason why he is the head of the Nightstalkers is mostly because
he is better at this than everyone else around him (at least for
the most part), and with his experience, he has even more
ability to adapt more easily since he has been in MI-6 since he
was young. For the most part, James is a very adaptable
combatant, and his natural talent for adaptive reaction rivals
some supernaturals (though James is not quite as intelligent or
as skilled as some higher level supernaturals). However, while
James is a great combatant, he is not the best at this skill,
and some supernaturals can outclass him in adaptive reaction
with certain skillsets and training. Also, James's insistence on
not having a specific combat style also hinders him slightly
(though not as it would others), because doesn't have specific
combat techniques and relies more on his instinctual reactions.
- Combatant Training: Supernatural Energy/Power Resistance:
James is a bit unique, as he has trained his body to resist
supernatural abilities. It isn't really known how he has done
so, whether it was by mental training or some form of physical
training, but James has gained a resistance to powers and
energies used by supernaturals. For example, elemental powers do
less damage to James despite him having no real immunities or
elemental affinities. It is not known if this is something he
was born with, or something he developed. However, what is known
is that when combined with the supernatural markings on his body
to weaken certain supernatural skills (such as vampire and
werewolf skills thanks to his silver cross marking), he is more
difficult to damage using supernatural powers. James cannot use
any supernatural abilities himself, as the only real skills he
utilizes are natural combat skills, and his assassin wavelength
skills that he has learned and honed over the years. James also
having the ability to adapt to enemies combat styles and
techniques also has allowed him to more easily combat
supernatural energies as well, which has led to him being
difficult for many supernaturals to kill through how they would
normally kill their enemies. Typically, this depends on the
supernatural and their abilities, as James doesn't have perfect
resistance to every skill since this is more of a general
resistance rather than a specific resistance. It should be noted
though, that while this is a resistance, it is far from being an
immunity. While some may think that James has an advantage due
to this, James' advantage is mostly in his combat abilities and
his unpredictability rather than this resistance. This
resistance mostly serves as an extra skill that makes James even
better suited to his job as the head of the Nightstalkers.
However, while useful, this doesn't protect against certain
skills, particularly those that higher level beings use. Those
like archangels and demon lords can probably overpower this
pretty easily, as well as some other stronger supernatural
abilities if the energies are strong enough. Since this isn't an
immunity, James does still take damage from supernatural
abilities, it's just less than what normal people would take.
- Combatant Training: Environmental Adaption: James next combat
talent is environmental adaption. Most who have kept up to this
point would probably surmise that James' talent is adaptability
(and they'd be right). This is yet another adaptability skill
that James has, where he is able to adapt to the environment
around him. The first thing is that he is able to adapt to the
temperature around him, where he is able to handle different
environmental temperatures much more easily than most humans
would. Whether it's the desert or the arctic, James is able to
adapt to different temperatures very well, and can handle
environments that most people wouldn't normally be able to
handle. The next to thing to mention is that James is very good
at adapting to environmental situations. For example, if James
found himself standing on a frozen lake and his steps were
cracking the ice, he would adapt his steps to move much more
lightly so that he doesn't crack the ice. James is highly
adaptable in that he is instinctively able to adapt to things
that others cannot normally, such as James has been able to
adapt to being a wave of psychic energy that knocked out others
due to mental distress (though not without some mental pain).
James was even captured by a foreign country and tortured for a
while in which he had to adapt to a life of being tortured until
he was eventually rescued. James has an unnatural adaptability
to the environment around him, and will find ways to adapt to
most situations he may find himself in. This helps him in battle
as well, as he can adapt his combat to the area around him. For
example, if he fights indoors, he can try to back his enemies
against the wall to take advantage of being indoors. While he
does rely on his gadgets to help him as well when it comes to
adapting, he has a great creativity and instinct to adapt to the
environment around him. However, there are limits to this
adaptability. For example, if he is dropped from a plane, he
won't be able to grow wings, or if he is fatally wounded, he
won't suddenly gain supernatural regeneration. For the most
part, this is just something that he uses to more easily adapt
to whatever is around him which has grown thanks to his training
in MI-6.
- Combat Affinity: Natural Combat Talents: Many combatants are
born with unique combat talents. Depending on the combatant,
many can have some form of natural combat talent (usually
depending on what they are and what skills they are born with).
This combat talent comes in a variety of forms depending on the
combatant and what natural talents they are born with. For
example, there are some who are born with supernatural combat
adaption where they develop a natural talent for subconsciously
adapting to supernatural combat. Some users could develop
natural talent for other things though, such as some who have an
instinctual combat sense that lets them instinctively recognize
threats and avoid danger (with such users usually having some
instinctual dodging ability). Among other natural talents
include users who may have natural talents for certain weapon
styles or skillsets. As mentioned, this combat talent is
different for each combatant, and some may even have multiple
natural talents (though having more talents may result in less
of each talent). This isn't just limited to how to fight though,
as some even gain specific intelligence or reflex based talents
that might not always apply to combat. Depending on the
combatant and their talents, this comes in all shapes and sizes,
making it hard to list each case of this, but the results
usually blend together and most end up in the same result: Many
can be naturally talented in combat, and are not to be
underestimated. While no one is skilled enough to take out every
single threat out there, many with natural combat talent are
very skilled warriors one they figure out what their natural
talent is. Of course, natural talent can only go so far, so it
is important to note that the users should also train their
talents and don't just rely on the natural talent. This talent
can be overcome by some opponents, especially among those that
have natural talents of their own, or some that have no talent
can overcome a user's talents if they are skilled enough through
training or experience. Also, it is possible that some might be
born without natural talents and can only get stronger through
intense training to push beyond not having natural talent.
Typically, this type of combat talent grows stronger more
quickly when the user is younger, but levels out when the user
reaches older ages. This means that users usually have more
growth when they're younger when they're still learning, but
their growth slows down when they get older and their talent
comes more from experience at that point. In addition to James's
instinctual combat, he does also have a natural ability for
normal combat, which he uses to the fullest to fight enemies as
best he can. While he has trained in basic combat training, and
has learned basics of different combat styles to help him learn
how to utilize his combat, he mostly relies on his natural
talent and doesn't use a specific style so he remains less
predictable.
- Combat Affinity: Trained Combat Talents: Many combatants are
not just naturally talented, as mentioned before, as magic users
can also train their talents. Whether a user has natural talent
or not, it is usually important for any combatant to build up
their trained talent as well. There is something to be said for
experience in combat helping a warrior grow, and there is almost
no case where this is any different. Through training and
experience, combatants can build up their combat from the ground
up, to the point that many users will train for years to build
up their combat skills. Just like the natural combat talents,
this talent comes in a variety of forms, but the result is the
same: It is important for a combatant to train their combat to
the best of their ability, and train to gain the most of their
combat. Through training and experience, combatants can learn
different things about combat. Among some of the more common
trained combat talents are those that learn to adapt to
opponents through experience, such as those that were
experienced with fighting specific threats may tailor their
combat to fight those threats. And some combatants may even
learn to counter other opponents abilities through things like
strategic thinking or by utilizing certain combat abilities in
response to certain abilities in order to counter them. As time
goes on, combatants train themselves to use this more and more
easily, where they may even use this combat talent without
thinking. The more experience one gets, the better the talent
will become, no matter what trained combat talent the combatant
develops over the years and no matter how much or how little
natural talent the combatant has. Usually, the most common one
is learning to adapt to combat styles as a combatant learns
about more combat styles, or learning to adapt to certain combat
styles by studying how others fight. As one might imagine
though, this is something that also only goes so far depending
on user and their dedication to training. This kind of combat
talent starts out slow, but as the user trains, they gain more
ability to learn as time goes on. Of course, all combat talents
can be countered by stronger combat talents, or by opponents
that might have special training to counter combat talents
(usually through combat talents of their own). Typically, this
is a combat talent that starts out small, but grows over time,
in which this talent usually becomes stronger as a combatant
gets older and more experienced. This typically gets stronger as
the ability to adapt lessens as a combatant gets older, meaning
that older combatants rely more on experience and this trained
talent than on natural talent. While it may seem like James
doesn't have a trained combat talent since he relies on
instinct, James actually does train his body in combat. While
partially to maintain his peak physical condition, James
continues to train his body also so that he can train his
adaptability and instincts to their fullest. By training himself
and using his experience, James is a very skilled combatant,
even though many would dismiss him as not being a strong
combatant due to the fact he doesn't have a specific fighting
style.
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Intelligence:
There's an old saying that sometimes to train the body, you have
to train the mind. When it comes to combatants, this is
something that they instinctively often have to do to train
themselves to their peak physical condition. When a person
reaches their peak physical condition, they will also usually
train their minds in different ways depending on the person and
what they want to do. The first step is training one's
intelligence, in which combatants know that just because they're
about fighting, doesn't mean they should be stupid in the
process. Combatants usually train their intellect almost as much
as their bodies, and use their intellect depending on what they
want to do. For example, some combatants will start studying
different subjects. Whether it's someone wanting to learn how
elements work so they can learn to counter elemental powers, or
people learning about technology to learn more about how to use
tech, there are many ways that combatants utilize intelligence
in combat (much more than most would think). Combatants also
will often utilize this for enhanced intelligence when it comes
to strategical thinking, as combatants can use strategical
thinking in fights more easily than using random knowledge that
may or may not be useful in battle. And through physical
training, most combatants gain a higher IQ by maximizing their
body's abilities, in which the brain is able to operate more
effectively if the body is in peak condition and able to
maintain the brain more easily. It is known that those who are
more physically active have an easier time concentrating and
learning, and this is something that can help combatants a lot.
While not all combatants have supernatural level IQs, even
normal combatants gain some enhanced intelligence. What the
person does with this intelligence depends on the individual, so
there are many ways this could be shown in combatants. Some may
know how to counter abilities through studying them, some may
learn about the world and gain knowledge of the world, or some
may even simply just use their enhanced intelligence for
enhanced strategical thinking. However, depending on the person,
not everyone gains super high intelligence, and there is usually
a limit to what most people can learn. This doesn't take into
account people's affinities (where some people have affinities
for certain types of knowledge over others), so it is hard to
quantify everyone's intelligence and tell them how to use it
best. This also means that not everyone is going to have great
intelligence in every subject. James is a very smart person, not
only being creative and strategic, but he also is very
knowledgeable as he does a lot of studying in his spare time.
While nowhere near as smart as some, his wide range of knowledge
on subjects and languages makes him a great MI-6 agent since he
has a pretty wide range of adaptability in the field thanks to
his intelligence.
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Reflexes: For
combatants, reflexes are a very big deal that they must train,
as without reflexes, they cannot survive battles. Part of this
training involves the combatant training their bodies and the
responses of their bodies. By doing this, they can train their
reflexes during their combat training which is the most
effective way to train their reflexes. In doing this, combatants
will train their minds ability to react, and as they get more
experience and training, this reflex training becomes more
instinctual to the point that master level combatants can
instinctively react to many forms of attacks without needing to
consciously think about it. For the most part, repetition and
keeping responses consistent is usually the best way to train
one's reflexes (for example, one cannot train themselves to
throw people who grab their shoulder and then just turn off that
reaction when a friend grabs their shoulder without trying to
untrain their reflexes). Thankfully, the mind's reflexes will
often grow with the combatant's physical abilities as they train
and fight, and they will often gain greater reflexes with more
training and experience. However, even with minimal experience,
those that train heavily to enhance their reflexes can gain
better reflexes depending on their training, and some combat
styles may rely more on this than others. For example, there are
instinctive combat styles that focus more on instinctual
movement, in which this particular training is not only
necessary, but needed to master in order to use the training
properly. As mentioned, reflexes are a necessity for battle, so
combatants must train them to the best of their ability. To an
extent, meditation and image training can also work for training
the mind, by helping the body focus on whatever the combatant
tries to focus on. This is necessary, as some fighters may learn
to move faster than their reflexes and senses can follow, which
might make them dangerous to themselves if they cannot keep up
with their own movements. This training also depends on the
person, and how skilled they get. When handling reflexes, it is
not just training, but experience that also determines how well
one's reflexes are. It is easy to train, but impossible to
master reflexive reactions, due to the fact that the changes in
the world, the body and the mind are always requiring the
combatant to adapt and train their reflexes in addition to their
bodies. James has excellent reflexes, and is very good at
combat. With his combat training as well as his natural combat
talents, James has excellent reflexes that make him better than
most humans.
- Combatant Enhanced Mind: Trained Enhanced Memory: This is
another thing that most combatants train without really thinking
about it. One of the best ways to train up one's memory is to be
physically active, as increased blood flow to the brain is
usually a good way to increase one's memories. And as the
combatants train their minds, they can train their memory as
well. It is actually much harder to train one's memory than
training one's intelligence or reflexes, since far less of one's
memory ability is within their physical control. However, those
that do train their memory, usually start by training their
bodies to their peak capacity. The first step to training memory
is to maintain the body, in which the body will be able to use
the mind's max abilities. For the most part, training the body
does also train the memory, but this is more of a passive
training than a true physical training. And while it may not
seem likely, research has also shown that meditation also
improves memory as well. Combatants usually train their memory
just like the rest of their minds, by finding ways to train that
specific part of them. Often, repetition is good way to improve
memory, as the more one repeats something, the more likely one
will be to remember it. Again though, most of memory training is
passive training and just maintaining the body. Depending on the
creature, some have different memories than others. This doesn't
include things like photographic and eidetic memories, as those
are unique aspects that aren't something you can just learn.
Combatants can train the mind though, and those that do keep
their bodies in peak condition often find their memory improves
as well (though not nearly as much as reflexes and intelligence
does through training). For the most part though, aside from
self-care and some mental training through repetition and
meditation, memory is something that one can't easily train up
through conscious effort alone. As such, while combatants have
enhanced memory, some may not have memory as good as they might
want. For the most part, memory is difficult to train, so some
may see an increase, while others may not. It mostly depends
partially on genetics and partially on maintaining the body in
peak condition. For James, he has pretty good memory, and has
very good retention for when it comes to remembering
information. As a result, James has often studied and learned a
lot of things such as multiple languages and learning a lot
about many different subjects. James's memory is quite good, and
with his combat training, his memory isn't really all that
different from what it was before his combat training.
- Human Combatant Extended Life: When it comes to combatants,
those that survive their battles without too much injuries can
live extended lives. Combatants will often train themselves to
the peak of efficiency of whatever race they are (different
races have different lifespans). While supernaturals with
regenerative abilities or certain races that are meant to not
age past a certain point can live a very long time, most don't
think about how combat training helps even those without
physical training to live longer lives. By training the body,
there are those that can live extended lives if they keep
themselves in peak physical ability for as long as they can. For
example, most don't usually think about it, but there are people
that are 90 years old and can still do Olympic events better
than people half their age. By staying physically active, not
only is it healthier for the body, but those in peak condition
for longer will often avoid many cases of death more easily (for
example, those in peak condition have a harder time getting sick
than those in poor condition). And because combatants train to
their peaks (usually), they will often have longer lifespans
than those that do not train themselves. By training to the peak
of their abilities, the body will have an easier time recovering
by adapting to the constant physical exertion (to an extent),
and this will lead to those who train their bodies to being able
to keep their bodies in good physical condition for longer. Of
course, while this doesn't completely negate the possibility of
death by sickness, it does highly reduce the possibility. Keep
in mind that this is mostly for normal humans, as supernatural
extended lives are a different thing entirely. This is more
about those that don't have skills like supernatural
regeneration or other skills or modifications through tech or
genetic modification to give them longer lives. For the most
part, it is believed the higher end of the lifespan of humans is
about 120 years, and it is not really known if some humans could
live longer. When factoring in extended life, the type of
creature is very important, and the abilities they possess. And
of course, as mentioned, this doesn't discount certain things
that may kill people before they have lived out their lives,
such as sickness or just being murdered by an enemy. People who
fight others, or hunt supernaturals, or do things that put their
lives at risk usually rarely ever live to old age so it is
actually more likely combatants won't reach their full lifespan.
- MI-6 Training: Multi-Linguists/Language Learning: Depending on
the person, there are many that travel and must learn another
language for one reason or another. There are a variety of
reasons for this, such as supernatural hunters having to travel
to hunt down supernaturals, or some humans having to travel
because of jobs, or some that just have to learn to interact
with others who may speak different languages. Some also may use
written languages for other things, such as study texts or older
things that may require learning certain written languages. No
matter the reason, there are many humans or non-supernaturals
that learn different languages other than their default
language. There are a few ways to learn languages, depending on
the individual. The first is that one can learn a language tree,
where some language trees correspond more easily to each other
(for example, Spanish and Portuguese are in the same language
tree, and have a very similar language). This can be easier to
some since it is easier to learn a language, but some find it
difficult when so many parts of the language are too similar.
Another method is used among those that have learned multiple
languages, where they will pick up languages by listening to
others speaking it, such as one may listen to a language and
learn what the words mean as a means to understand the language.
Of course, the third is perhaps the more obvious one where one
can read and study to learn a language just like other people do
(which can come more easily to some that have enhanced
intelligence). This can be used to learn a number of languages,
and most have to learn multiple languages as a means to
communicate with others as their lives go on. There are plenty
of languages out there, with the main ones used in the world
often being well known languages like English, French, Spanish,
and some other languages like Chinese, Japanese, Russian and
Portuguese. This mostly depends on the individual and the
languages they need to learn. Depending on what they learn, some
languages are more useful than others. For example, the only
reason to learn dead languages (languages that aren't spoken
anymore and have no new words being added) is to study ancient
texts. This depends on the individual and what they want or need
to learn, and depends on their intelligence on what they can
retain. In MI-6, many agents travel to other countries, and many
must learn different kinds of languages, so each agent usually
has some number of languages they've learned.
- Combatant Training Enhanced Normal Senses: As a result of
combatants training their body into peak condition, combatants
learn to focus and enhance their senses. Depending on the
combatant, some may have supernatural senses depending on their
abilities, but even normal human combatants can gain enhanced
senses. Through physical training and being in their peak
condition, combatants can learn not only to use their senses to
the max, but many can also learn through things like meditation
to learn how to focus their senses more easily. In doing so,
they are able to focus their senses in a way that lets them use
further enhanced senses. For example, in a way similar to how
someone who squints can focus their sight, combatants can learn
to focus their senses through mental and physical training to
get the most out of their senses. Every combatant has a
different balance of senses, so trying to predict the enhanced
senses is difficult since it is different for each person.
However, all combatants can learn to enhance their senses to
some degree through honing their physical and mental states.
While those like human combatants won't gain highly enhanced
senses akin to supernaturals, their senses do go beyond those of
normal human ability, such as a combatant with enhanced hearing
might be able hear at further distances than normal people, or
they might have better vision and adaptability in their vision
than others (such as adapting to dark/light transitions more
easily). As mentioned though, most combatants won't gain
supernatural senses through combat training again (but will if
they are a supernatural creature), so their senses won't get to
a high enough level that they can match supernatural senses (at
least, under normal circumstances). However, the one thing that
human level combatants don't have to worry about is that with
lesser enhanced senses than supernaturals, they are at far less
risk of having their senses overwhelmed since their senses
aren't as strong. However, there is still a risk, just as there
is a risk with anyone to having their senses overwhelmed. There
is also a limit to how strong normal human senses can become,
and this is usually also limited by the person's genetics
(meaning physically they may have weaker or stronger senses
depending on the person). And depending on the person, each
person's balance of senses is different, so that is another
thing that must be taken into account as well (meaning that
overwhelming senses make work differently depending on the
person).
- Peak Combat Training: Enhanced Psychological State Training:
Those that train in combat not only have to train their bodies,
but they have to train their minds as well. Those with mental
training in combat learn to train their minds, with the first
step to training their psychological state. Depending on the
person and what race they are, this is something that is more
necessary than others. While many supernaturals may not be as
trained as a race like the Darkfires or Hazeldines, it is
important for almost all combatants to train their psychological
states. By training their psychological states, they can keep
their mental states firm and they can keep themselves from
diving to far from whatever they train themselves to be. For
example, those that want to remain a calm and collected fighter
will often focus on calming techniques or other meditation
training to train their minds so that their minds don't easily
suffer things like fear or anger. Others can also do things like
train their minds to certain emotional states, such as how those
that rely on anger and hatred may train themselves to maintain a
certain level of anger or hatred so they can maintain their
level of emotion. This is a skill most combatants must learn,
and they can learn to utilize this in different ways depending
on the state they want to attain. For the most part, this is
designed to allow combatants to more easily keep their composure
when under extreme stress, and this training helps them to be
less likely to fall into a psychological state that they may not
want to fall into. By training their psychological states,
normal combatants strengthen their mind and are able to maintain
their minds in their desired psychological states. However,
those supernaturals that train their minds may have more purpose
to do so, as some supernaturals have to train their minds in
order to control their supernatural abilities (as most
supernatural abilities may require some form of emotional state
and may react to the emotional state used). For the most part,
this is just a basic training, and is not able to always keep
the user from falling into unfavorable states, and depending on
the user, some may not have strong enough training to resist
certain psychological conditions depending on their situation.
- Peak Combat Training: Mental Conditioning/Combatant Will
Training: This is the second part of a combatant's mental
training. This part of mental training is specifically tuned to
training a mind to resist difficult conditions, where combatants
will try to train themselves to handle mental strain during
specific situations. Specifically, some may learn to strengthen
their will to resist things like psychic abilities, certain
supernatural abilities that effect emotions, or other things
that may cause immense stress on the mind. People who train in
this often learn to resist certain conditions through physical
training, and use this alongside their psychological state
training to push their minds to resist unfavorable conditions as
much as they can. This training is made most effective when a
user can train in hard mental conditions, such as if they can
train with a supernatural who can influence the mind. Another
popular method for those that cannot train with supernaturals is
to train in meditation while trying to avoid a particular
hazard. For example, some may balance on difficult objects while
meditating (with extreme training including things like
meditating while on a spike), or some may train their minds in
tough conditions such as living in a dangerous area and learning
to focus while also focusing on their survival. This is a
training that can be done a number of ways, and is a passive
skill that any combatant can learn to some extent. Some of the
most advanced trained combatants or supernatural trained users
of this may even be able to shut down certain aspects of their
mind at will, where some can learn to do things like shut down
their sense of pain through focus. This is another ability that
depends on one's training, with supernaturals often having
better training at this than humans (though humans can still
learn this just as well if they train hard enough). Typically,
this is something that can be overcome by stronger mental
abilities, where some can use things like stronger psychic
abilities or stronger emotional influences to try and influence
the mind of the combatant. This is not a perfect training, and
may not resist every unfavorable condition. This usually depends
on the combatant and their training. James has suffered extreme
conditions, in which he had to learn to control himself under
being tortured for years back when he was captured by a foreign
country (before he was rescued).
- Peak Combat Training and Supernatural Enhanced Physical
Abilities: Combatants, whether supernatural or human, usually
train their abilities to their peak as best they can (if they
don't train then they wouldn't have combat training at all). For
the most part, the specific training depends on the person,
whether it depends on their combat training, their status as a
human or supernatural, or even on just their physical abilities.
As one might guess, this is different depending on the user, as
everyone is built differently, and different things like
different races have different physical abilities. Combatants
often have specific trained abilities depending on their
physiology and abilities, in which they may focus on specific
stat training, or they may have a general stat training to
enhance all their stats. Because of this, it is hard to quantify
every combatant's physical and/or supernatural enhancements.
However, there are usually two levels of enhanced stats. The
first is that users gain special training towards certain stats,
which lets them specialize in a few stats to train those stats
to levels beyond normal supernaturals. The other method is that
one can train in a more general sense and train up all of their
stats for a more even stat boost. There are advantages and
disadvantages to both methods. The specialized stats allow for
much higher stats than other supernaturals depending on the
level of specialization, but the downside is that other stats
will often suffer as a result (IE a speed and agility based
training will often mean strength may not be as well trained and
won't be as enhanced). For those that do the general training,
this offers are more even stat increase, but the stats aren't as
increased as those with specialized training. Those with
specialized training tend to focus more on their strengths, and
often have to leave out their weaker stats and find other ways
around them. However, those with generalized training often are
much more balanced and have a much easier time balancing all of
their stats in combat. Most combatants will often choose one of
these two methods to train, where they will train depending on
their own preferences. This makes each combatant unique in how
they are attuned to combat. Of course, as one might expect,
combatants may still be overcome by those with stronger stats,
or some with experience may also overwhelm the combatant's
physical abilities (as there are some things to be said for
experience giving someone better ability to counter enemies than
just raw training). Opponents experience, training, and
abilities should all be taken into account when it comes to
whether or not they may be able to overtake a combatant's own

Supernatural Hunter and Human Weaknesses:
- What are you again?: Every supernatural hunter still has the
same weaknesses of whatever race they are. Supernatural hunter
training really doesn't grant much in the ways of changing what
someone is. The only way that people can change what they are is
if a supernatural hunter ends up becoming a supernatural
themselves somehow. For example, most supernatural hunters are
human, and the ones that are human still have human weaknesses.
For example, humans can be killed just as easily as they
normally would be able to. Even humans in peak condition are not
immortal, and can be killed. Supernaturals also still have their
own specific weaknesses. There are a few weaknesses many
creatures typically have that one can test if they are not sure
of what someone is. The first is the head. Most creatures will
die if you cut of their heads, with the only known exceptions
being creatures like angels and demons. Another think to test is
the heart, which can be a vital point for many types of
creatures. Of course, this only applies to those with an anatomy
similar to humans, so alien creatures may have different anatomy
with either hearts being in different places or having multiple
hearts, or creatures like dark spirits without hearts may not
have hearts to attack. This mostly depends on the person, and
any supernatural hunter is able to be killed by superior
opponents. No matter how great a combatant is, they can always
lose out to enemies and be killed by superior opponents. Another
thing to note is that many supernatural hunters may also be more
vulnerable to poisons and mental attacks, depending on the
supernatural hunter. Again, most supernatural hunters are
usually human, but there are supernaturals that become hunters
as well. For the most part, while some are easy to figure out
(such as normal humans are usually easier to figure out how to
kill) but some other types of creatures may not be so easy to
figure out (such as supernaturals who become hunters may not be
as easy to read). In the end, it just comes down to if the
opponent understands who and what they're fighting. James is a
human and can be killed just like any other human. Unlike some,
there's no special abilities, no cybernetics, and no special
super soldier stuff. James is just a normal human trained to his
peak condition with some unique combat talents. Other than that,
James is as mortal as they come.
- New to this? Well, you might die before long anyway: When it
comes to supernatural hunting, experience is the best teacher.
In order to learn how to fight, one has to actually fight.
Training is fine, and every supernatural hunter should be
trained, but if they don't gain experience they won't last long.
The problem is that gaining experience is very difficult in the
path of supernatural hunting. One often needs experience to
survive, so people new to supernatural hunting usually may or
may not last long depending on their skill in the field. There
is a cycle where supernatural hunters need experience to fight
supernaturals, but in order to get experience they have to fight
supernaturals. It is a bit of a paradox and makes it very hard
to train supernatural hunters, especially when it comes to
sending them into supernatural hunts. The only real way around
this is to pair inexperienced hunters with experienced hunters
and the experienced hunters step in when the situation gets too
dangerous for the inexperienced hunter. However, this isn't
always effective, as inexperienced hunters have actually also
gotten experienced hunters killed when they make mistakes or
freeze up during a battle. For the most part, it is very
difficult to gain experience as a supernatural hunter, as every
supernatural hunt risks the hunter's life, and each hunt usually
proves very difficult depending on the supernatural hunter.
While some may be naturally gifted, or some may be supernaturals
working as supernatural hunters, it is actually more common that
many supernatural hunters don't last long before being killed by
supernatural. Supernatural hunters gaining experience is usually
only if they survive long enough, and can plan and prepare well
enough to fight supernaturals. Supernatural hunting is not easy,
and can easily end with the death of the supernatural hunter.
Not even experienced supernatural hunters are always able to win
in every situation. This means that no matter one's experience,
they will always need more experience to keep up with their
supernatural hunting. James doesn't have a problem with
experience, as he has been fighting and killing enemies longer
than people think. James has fought both humans and
supernaturals, and come out on top. However, James' experience
is limited because he is human and hasn't been around for a very
long time like some supernaturals have, which does limit his
experience somewhat.
- All alone, Eh? Sucks to be you: When it comes to supernatural
hunting, it is usually best to travel in groups. Because one
person can make mistakes, it is more likely for someone alone to
get killed than if they were with a group. While traveling alone
does remove the risk of being betrayed by others, traveling
alone is not always the best option. Those that travel alone
have far less chance of survival, due to the fact that one
person cannot plan for every contingency. One reason groups work
better is because each person can back up the other, and with
supernaturals, fighting them as a group often is a good way to
overwhelm them rather than one person trying to face one, one on
one. While it is possible, and some supernaturals who work as
supernatural hunters do that, facing supernaturals one on one is
usually hard for any supernatural hunter who isn't some kind of
supernatural creature or experienced enough to take on groups of
supernaturals. However, traveling in groups isn't always the
answer either. Because groups can be infiltrated by enemies, it
is possible for groups of people to be broken apart by people
who would betray the group, and there are always some people who
may turn against the group, willing or not. For the most part,
those that work alone are able to avoid these kinds of
situations, especially among those that have a tendency to get
betrayed more easily. Another risk of those that work in groups
is that those in the group may get lazy if they don't do enough
to fight the supernaturals. For example, if a group has one
person who never helps, that person may not ever get any better
at fighting supernaturals. For the most part, organizing one's
supernatural hunting is important, as well as decided whether or
not they want to work with others. There are disadvantages and
advantages to working alone, and also the same can be said about
working in groups. As such, supernatural hunters need to be
aware of these risks, as supernaturals will take advantage of
any disadvantages they can in order to kill hunters in order to
save their own lives.
- Knowledge is power... Hope you don't get caught lacking: When
it comes to supernatural hunting, knowing as much as one can
about supernaturals is one of the few things that will save
their lives. It is not enough for one to just go out with a holy
weapon and try to cut down supernaturals like some kind of
Castlevania game protagonist. Those that do try to go out with
little to no preparation usually don't last very long as
supernatural hunters. For the most part, preparation and
learning are the only way to beat supernaturals. And while there
is plenty of lore and things that can be learned that can save a
supernatural hunter out on the hunt, not everything can be
learned by every supernatural hunter. No one can know everything
about every creature, which is usually why some supernatural
hunters tend to specialize in specific types of creatures. For
example, vampire hunters learn about vampires specifically and
hunt mostly vampires. There are advantages to specializing in
specific creatures, but there are also disadvantages. While it
is possible to learn far more about specific types of creatures
if one specializes in a creature, it also means that one is far
less prepared if they end up running into a different kind of
creature than the one they were expecting (for example, trying
to track down a werewolf and finding a demon prove dangerous to
the supernatural hunter). For the most part, the knowledge that
supernatural hunters can get can save their lives, and one has
no idea when something they learn may come in handy. For the
most part, this comes down to the supernatural hunter, and if
their knowledge is not up to the task, they may struggle against
creatures they are not prepared for. However, those that study a
much broader region may be more prepared for other creatures,
but may not be as prepared as those who specialize in specific
kinds of creatures. Depending on the supernatural hunter, every
supernatural hunter has to prepare in their own way, so each one
usually is different in that regard. Many have different levels
of knowledge, and the more knowledge they have, the more likely
they are to be able to come up with ways to beat supernaturals
in combat or find ways to counter them. However, if their
knowledge is lacking, they are far less likely to survive. And
no one can predict every single situation they will run into.
- Not what you expected, eh?: As mentioned before, supernatural
hunters are usually prepared for their battles. Many
supernatural hunters usually try to prepare as much as possible
before going into battles, and usually try to equip themselves
depending on what they're planning to fight. Preparation is a
key method of winning against supernaturals. While it is not as
necessary with supernaturals who become supernatural hunters,
humans almost always have to prepare. As mentioned, there are
different methods of studying supernaturals and learning how to
fight and kill them (in that one can specialize in one type, or
one can learn a more general knowledge of supernaturals).
However, a danger to all supernatural hunters is if they expect
to face a specific supernatural and then find they are fighting
something they weren't prepared for. This is a problem very
dangerous to those that specialize in specific types of
supernaturals, in that they may be completely unprepared for
finding a supernatural other than the type they specialize in.
However, don't think this is only a problem for those that
specialize, because even those that have a general knowledge of
all supernaturals can be thrown off by a supernatural creature
they're hunting not being what they expected. For example, if
one were to expect a vampire and then suddenly find themselves
face to face with a werepyre, they may not be as prepared to
face a werepyre as they would a vampire. For the most part, if
supernatural hunters get it wrong what creature they are facing,
it can be a very dangerous situation for them. Depending on the
level of mistake (which may or may not be the supernatural
hunter's fault depending on the situation), encountering a
different kind of supernatural can often lead to a supernatural
hunter getting killed if they aren't prepared enough to take on
a supernatural. For example, if one tries to face down what they
think is a demon, only to find it's a werewolf, a supernatural
hunter's demon traps they set up in preparation would end up
being completely useless. In these cases, the only way for the
supernatural hunter to save their own lives is to either have
backup, be well enough equipped that they have weapons to take
on whatever they end up really fighting, or retreating and
coming back with more preparation.
- If they can see through your tricks, you're probably going to
die: Supernaturals are getting smarter and smarter. While it is
very necessary to be prepared against supernatural hunters,
supernaturals are also preparing for when they face hunters.
Almost any supernatural is going to prepare in some way for
facing hunters. As such, this means that supernatural hunters
have to be ready and learn how to counter supernatural traps.
These days, supernaturals are learning more and more of the
supernatural hunter tricks that are used to track them down and
kill them, and developing ways to counter those methods. As
such, supernatural hunters must also evolve and continue finding
new ways to take out supernaturals as a result. The battle to
constantly evolve strategies is a necessary part of supernatural
hunting, as supernaturals are also evolving. Some supernaturals
have even gone so far as to be trained as supernatural hunters
themselves, learning the tricks of the trade directly so they
can learn to counter supernatural hunters. When it comes to
supernatural hunting, creativity is the only way that
supernatural hunters can come up with new ways to counter
supernaturals as they learn more tricks of the trade. Only by
creatively coming up with new ways to counter supernaturals will
supernatural hunters succeed in taking out supernaturals, since
both sides are constantly seeking to one-up the other. If a
supernatural hunter cannot adapt and try new strategies, the
chances are that they are not going to last very long. Smarter
supernaturals are even often traveling in groups to just
straight up overpower hunters, which makes them even harder to
hunt. For the most part, preparation is still the key to beating
supernaturals, but overall, one must also be creative and
adaptive to their situations, as supernatural hunters will
eventually find supernaturals who know how supernatural hunters
act and how they track supernaturals. Once supernaturals have
figured that out, many can even ambush and kill supernatural
hunters if they predict the supernatural hunter's methods.
- Why don't you die when you're killed?!: There are some
creatures in the multiverse that no amount of preparation is
going to help against. While it is possible to take out most
normal creatures with enough preparation and experience, there
are some creatures that just defy the natural laws. For example,
primordial creatures are often much more difficult to kill than
normal creatures, as many have some form of immortality that
makes them near impossible to kill. For example, the deities of
the Shadow Realm like Xeles, Toranoraos, Death and Phantom are
pretty much impossible to kill, as is the deity of the Spirit
Realm, Orion. Depending on the creature, there are some that
supernatural hunters must stay away from, because no amount of
preparation will not stop them. There are also other primordial
creatures who cannot be killed except under specific conditions,
such as the daemons. While it may be possible to temporarily
trap certain creatures with the right preparation, some cannot
be killed by normal means. Among some other creatures that
cannot be killed by normal means include creatures like the
The'Galin, who outright don't obey the natural laws, and they
are not creatures of life or death. Another thing to note are
creatures of Malice and Saskia's realm of the Void. Many of
these creatures go back to the void when they die, and some can
be summoned again to the world of the living depending on the
creature (meaning they don't truly die). Dark spirits are
another creature to be aware of, as dark spirits are very
difficult to kill. Dark spirits often require special
supernatural hunting techniques to take out, or special
abilities to attack the spiritual in order to stop them. While
dark spirits are easier to take out than some higher level
creatures since they can be overcome with the right preparation,
they are still very a very difficult creature to account for,
especially since there are many dark spirits that replicate the
abilities of other supernaturals. For example, if a supernatural
hunter goes after a demon succubus only to find it is a dark
spirit succubus, their attempts to destroy it with anti-demon
means would not work. In the end, there are creatures in the
world that supernatural hunters have to just walk away from and
accept that they cannot win or kill them, and the best they can
do is delay them or inconvenience them at best.
Assassin Wavelength Weaknesses:
- Hard to learn, harder to master: Whether it's as an assassin,
swordsman, or martial artist, wavelength skills are very
difficult to learn. When it comes to this kind of skill,
experience is what helps someone learn it, not just training and
combat talent. While combat talent can make it a little easier
to learn this skill, it is something that cannot just be copied
or learned instantly by even the strongest of combat talents
(with a few exceptions). In order to learn how to use this,
users must learn how to tune their focus to these wavelengths.
Most who do learn this usually learn this through near death
experiences, or other extreme situational moments where their
senses might be hypertuned. However, learning to tune one's
senses is only the first step. This particular skill can take
years of training to learn to use effectively, and even longer
to fully master. This is a particular skillset that is very
difficult to fully master, due to the fact that the only way to
master it is with experience. While training on how to tune
one's senses more effectively and instinctively learn how to
access these wavelengths can help tremendously, mastering the
wavelength skills is far more difficult. The only way to fully
master this is to use it and continue to develop it through
experience. Few people ever truly master this skill, and even
among the higher level opponents, there may still be abilities
yet to be discovered with these wavelength skills. For example,
some wavelength skillsets use different abilities, even though
they are using the same power but for different purposes. In the
end, this skillset is something that is only available to those
with experience in the particular area that they use this for
(IE, swordsman with experience can learn swordsman wavelength,
but are highly unlikely to learn martial arts wavelength or the
assassin's wavelength skillsets without also being a martial
artist or assassin specifically). This is one of the downsides
to this skillset, as combat talents don't take people that far
when learning these skills. Wavelengths are only as skilled as
their users, so depending on the user, some may not be able to
use this as effectively as others (usually depending on their
level of experience).
- What is a wavelength? A miserable little pile of waves: When
it comes to the wavelength skills, all of the wavelength skills
have something in common, while different types of people use
them for different purposes, they are all essentially different
ways of using the same thing. No matter the wavelength, all of
them can be countered if one knows the secret behind
wavelengths. When it comes to wavelengths, they are essentially
waves that are emitted from others and even from objects. If one
wants to counter these wavelengths, the best way to do so is
with a counter wave. The biggest example is that those with
their own wavelength skills can counter other opponent's
wavelength skills if they know how the skills work, even if
they're not using the same skill-set (IE a swordsman wavelength
user could counter a martial arts wavelength user). However,
other wavelength users are not the only way to counter this.
Anything one can do in order to counter a wave can be used if
one understands how waves work. In order to counter a wave, you
simply need another wave that counteracts the wave. This can be
done by generating waves through other sources, such as devices
that can generate waves, or other abilities like wind
manipulation that can generate waves through things like sound
or lightning that can generate electromagnetic waves. If one
interrupts the flow of waves, it can interrupt the flow of the
wavelength's abilities as well if done correctly. However, the
only real problem with this is that those that want to counter
this have to also be able to identify the wavelengths that are
being used for the wavelength abilities, and then create a
counter wave based on that (which is not as easy as it sounds).
While it is possible for almost anyone with enough preparation
(as tech can be used if one doesn't have unique skills to
generate waves), generating just waves is not enough. The waves
have to be specifically tuned to counter the wavelengths of the
wavelength powers, which means that the user must identify the
wavelengths of the wavelength power in order to counter it with
waves. However, smart enough people are able to figure out ways
to counter this, and while it isn't the easiest thing, plenty of
smart opponents can figure it out with a little creativity and
preparation.
- Welp... Guess not everyone can be a weak-willed jerk:
Depending on the wavelengths used, some skills are designed to
do different things. However, those that affect the mental state
(such as some wavelengths have skills that increase the
murderous aura of someone to intimidate them) are able to be
resisted against if one has a strong enough will. In order to
overcome wavelength abilities that have mental effects, one just
has to focus their will and use their own mental strength to
overcome the skill. While certain skillsets like special mental
state training can be used to more easily counter the mental
state effects, anyone with strong enough wills can overcome this
if they have a stronger mental will than the effects of the
wavelength. By overpowering the wavelength, one can essentially
overcome the effects that are exerted. There are also easier
ways than just having to use willpower, which are done through
using special skills. For example, those with psychic training
that can properly use mental shielding can also override the
mental effects with proper psychic protection, which is designed
to protect the mind from these types of powers. Another thing
that is used to defend against the mental effects of the
wavelengths is those with special mental training to resist
mental effects, such as iron willpower or the Darkfire's
Disciplined Mind training. These types of trainings can also
counter the mental effects to a large degree, if the person's
will is stronger than the wavelength's mental effects. Depending
on the skills and mental strength of the person trying to resist
the mental effects of wavelength abilities, there are other ways
if one can find ways to boost their mental strength, such as
using cybernetics to monitor and control the mind's reactions
(such as how a cybernetic treatment known as nanomachines can
regulate the brain chemistry if anything abnormal effects it).
There are ways that just about anyone can use to overcome it, if
they understand the mental nature of how the wavelength skills
are affecting them. For the most part, it all comes down to
willpower and the strength of the mind.
Personality: James is a very confident, and very charismatic
person. This is usually the first thing people notice about
James. He is the type of person that seems to always have
something witty to say in almost every situation. James is also
a very level-headed person, not usually one to lose his cool in
dangerous situations. For the most part, James is also a very
knowledgeable and experienced person, having traveled the world
and fought all kinds of enemies both human and supernatural
thanks to his time with MI-6. Another thing to note about James
is that he is someone who tends to be a bit of a womanizer at
times, and tends to enjoy flirting with beautiful women (and
will even flirt with dangerous women who could probably kill
him. Overall, James is usually a very well-rounded individual.
While he is very easy to talk to, he is a bit difficult to get
to open up, as he usually keeps things professional with most
people. After an incident with a former MI-6 agent former friend
who turned out to be a terrorist, James is not as trusting as he
used to be, though one wouldn't really know it by how polite he
is to everyone around him. The last thing to note is James angry
side. While James is usually pretty controlled, he does have an
angry side that he doesn't show to people (and doesn't come up
too often except in certain situations that get to him). James
doesn't always yell when he's angry, but commonly, his angry
side is more of a silent rage. James will not hesitate to kill
people when he goes into this kind of angry mode, and will kill
the people who set him off, sometimes losing allies in the
process.
In battle, James is a pretty strategic person, as well as an
instinctive one. James is very creative and instinctive about
how he handles situations, and often surprises his enemies on
how adaptive he can be. For example, James is very good at using
his environment to his advantage, and will use things in the
environment to fight his opponents. James also usually has
hidden weapons such as hidden throwing knives or he also has his
Walter PPK which tends to be his main weapon (though sometimes
he may keep a backup gun strapped to his leg. Because of James'
experience and combat talents, he is able to usually keep up
with most opponents, and adapt to their combat no matter the
situation he's in (usually). For the most part, James is a very
skilled combatant, and he does tend to rely on his instinctive
combat talents, as well as his gadgets to help him win (though
he doesn't rely solely on gadgets and only uses them as a last
resort). However, when James does get angry, he does tend to go
into a silent rage mode where he will not hesitate to kill those
that are his enemies, though he only seems to go into this mode
rarely (usually as a result of being provoked by the death of an
ally or someone trying to use his past against him).
Bio: James Maxwell was born to a relatively normal human family
long ago. Born to a Scottish father and a Swiss mother, James
was much like any other human with nothing really special
sticking out in his life. However, when he was 11 years old, his
parents died in a mountain climbing accident, and James was
orphaned as a result of his parents deaths. Much of James'
history is unknown, but what is known is that he went to college
and then joined the British Royal Navy, eventually earning the
rank of Commander. Eventually he would earn his way into MI-6
and the Secret Service, where he would go on secret missions for
MI-6 during the Cold War era. James would protect the world from
a number of threats, including his former friend and MI-6 agent
Alec Trevelyan who turned against MI-6. And as James started to
gain more recognition, soon, James would also be recruited by
Cain for the Nightstalkers unit and James would learn to hunt
supernatural threats after having proven his combat and
assassination mastery against every enemy he had come across.
When he would be recruited for the Nightstalkers, he would work
for Cain, and learn all about the supernatural world. James
would go on to further his knowledge of the supernatural thanks
to the British Men of Letters and the Liberi Group (Before they
started working with other groups). These days, James acts as
the leader of the Nightstalkers, training new members and
leading the group against supernatural threats that MI-6 assigns
him to take out. While James sometimes would work alone against
enemies, he would also work with others depending on the mission
and helping less experienced members.
