Acillia: I'm sorry, Kindron... It has to be this way. This is
goodbye.
Kindron: I understand. I wish I could get you to stay, but I'll
do my best to support you from here... He says with a sigh as he
hugs Acillia, who hugs him back.
Acillia: I know. You'll be fine though, I think. You've grown
far stronger the last few years. I'm sure you'll be ready for
anything that will happen next.
Kindron: Maybe... He says to himself as he hugs Acillia, some
tears in his eyes.
That was the final conversation Kindron and Acillia had before
her decision to leave the living world. After working with her
mother, Acillia had started working with Sariel as well, and had
made the decision to leave the living world forever. Acillia
couldn't explain why, only that her purpose was extremely
important to the war against the The'Galin was going to help
turn the tide of the war when the time came. Kindron and Acillia
said their final goodbyes, and Acillia went to Heaven where she
would ascend to a plane where she would be in the place she
needed to be. It didn't mean Acillia was going to die, but
Sariel had made it clear that Acillia wouldn't be able to
interact with the living world any longer if Acillia agreed to
the plan that she had put into action.
However, with her decision, Acillia had also chosen to leave
behind all of her personal connections in the living world.
While Acillia would be able to spend time with Baby Zack in
heaven until whatever event was supposed to happen did finally
happen, Erena was the one that had to bring Zack down to earth
to visit with Kindron. But with everything going on in London,
Kindron wasn't upset about Zack staying in Heaven right now when
not with him, because of the fact that so many enemies wanted to
go after Kindron. As for Acillia, Acillia's choice had not only
had her leaving her sisters behind, but had also had her leaving
Kindron as well as part of her choice to leave behind her mortal
connections.
It had been almost a month since that day, and Kindron had been
trying to get some affairs in order. While Kindron had gotten a
building for his new company he was starting, and had set up
shop in his new building in Black Sun territory. However though,
Kindron had not joined Black Sun like some thought, but it was
more that Hei and Kendrix wanted to keep an eye on Kindron since
Kindron spent most of his time now at the Darkfire Technologies
building, and they didn't want Kindron to get attacked by
Nightshade.
However, today, Kindron wasn't in London, but in New Orleans.
One thing that had also been left by Acillia was her bar in New
Orleans, which was left to Kindron after Acillia gave up her
bar. Since Alice had a bar in London, Acillia thought it best to
give it to Kindron, since Acillia didn't want her bar becoming a
hub for Black Sun, and wanted to keep it as high class as
possible. Acillia's bar had always been a less dangerous bar due
to the fact that it was not a place where criminals were allowed
to hang out and do criminal activity, since Acillia had tried to
keep everything in the bar as legal as possible (not wanting to
get into any trouble, and wanting to have as many people enjoy
her bar as possible).
However, there were a few problems. The first one was solved, in
that the bar was in need of a severe remodel. Thankfully,
Kindron and a friend were able to handle that very easily thanks
to their magic abilities. Kindron and one of his friends from
his magic training days, Merlin Jones, had come to London with
Kindron to help him with the remodel.
Merlin: Well... That took longer than I was expecting. Let's
work on getting a drink! Lucky I brought some drinks for us. He
says as he goes and sits at the bar.
Kindron goes over to him. Kindron: I wish Milos was here... I
think he'd enjoy this place as it is now.
Merlin: How is that old gangster these days? He says, making a
joke about how Milos was head of the Bratva.
Kindron: He's in London if you ever want to come visit. He works
with my brother in Black Sun.
Merlin: No kidding? He says as he pours a drink.
Kindron: I had something I wanted to discuss with you while
you're here. He says to Merlin.
Merlin pours Kindron a drink, and hands it to him, which he
takes.
Merlin: Oh? And what's that? He says before he takes a drink.
Kindron: You said you always wanted your own bar... I was hoping
you'd run this place. He says to Merlin.
Merlin nearly coughs up his liquor at Kindron's statement and
starts coughing more after swallowing the liquor.
Merlin: Wait... Say what?! He says, coughing a bit as he
recovers from the surprise.
Kindron: Yeah. I have a business in London I have to worry
about. So I need someone reliable to help out... And since all
the responsible people I know are busy, I have to settle for
you. He says jokingly to Merlin. He then gets serious. Acillia's
old manager of this place said he's not sticking around to run
the place now that Acillia's gone. I need someone who can uphold
what this place stands for. You're the best person to run this
place.
Merlin looks over to Kindron. Merlin: I may be a genius... But
I'm not really sure I'm gonna be able to manage a bar.
Kindron: Don't worry... I'm gonna talk to my dad's girlfriend.
Laura can give you some tips on how to run a bar effectively.
She's got a pretty nice bar of her own in New Orleans, and I'm
sure she'll give you advice if you tell her I sent you.
Merlin stops and ponders for a moment. Merlin: And you're sure
you won't regret this? Your girlfriend gave you this place. I
don't want to sully what you guys want to do for this place.
Kindron smiles and drinks his liquor. He then looks at the
bottle. Kindron: Wow... That's good... You really did combine
the apple and cinnamon flavors really well. He says before
turning back to Merlin. Anyway... You're gonna be fine. I trust
you. You know I can handle it.
Merlin looks at Kindron with a smile. Merlin: So... Do I get to
change the name? He says jokingly.
Kindron: Hey... Say what you want. Darkfire Tavern has a REALLY
nice ring to it. He says jokingly.
However, before Merlin could respond, both of them notice
someone walk in. Since the door was locked, the fact that
someone was coming in wasn't a good sign.
Kindron gets up, realizing immediately that it was Eric
Matthews, Acillia's former FBI agent and member of Nightshade.
Kindron: That's another thing I wanted to talk to you about...
This place is gonna be a target for Nightshade. He says to
Merlin.
Eric looks to Kindron and Merlin curiously. Eric: So... I take
it Acillia isn't going to show up here?
Kindron: I take it you knew she was alive then? He says with a
shrug. But no. She's left the living world. You won't see her
here, or anywhere on earth ever again. He says to Eric.
Eric looks at Kindron for a moment. Eric: Damn... I don't think
you're lying. I was hoping to capture her and kill her again.
But then again... You're the only one I'm after now. He says as
he cracks his knuckles.
Merlin: You know... Come to think of it... I do like Darkfire
Tavern as the name. I think I'll stick with that. He says, not
paying attention to Kindron and Eric's conversation. He then
gets up and gets ready. He summons his magic knuckles, and
clinks them together as he walks over to Eric. Hey Kindron...
I'll handle this one if you don't mind.
Kindron looks to Merlin. Kindron: Sure? But he's tough. And
smart. He's not to be underestimated.
Merlin smiles as he gets into a fighting stance. Merlin: Neither
am I.
Eric chuckles to himself. Eric: Look at that... You think you're
intimidating... I'll be happy to ki- He says before being
interrupt by a gut punch from Merlin, who does a focused fist
combat move from his martial arts style. Once the hit had hit
Eric, he was coughing up blood from the punch.
Merlin silently follows up with his spinning uppercut, and then
goes immediately into another combo as the uppercut sends Eric
flying back and he lands hard through a table. Merlin jumps and
tries to pummel Eric, but Eric manages to recover and bounces up
in a flip as he moves back as he speeds back, breaking a few
tables along the way. Merlin tries to attack again with a
charging strike move from his fighting style designed to let him
close the gap and strike Eric, and tries to hit him while
charging forward, but Eric was now using his werewolf agility to
try and avoid Merlin, knowing he couldn't take Merlin lightly.
Merlin kept trying to hit him, charging after Eric, but Eric
kept moving so Merlin had a hard time hitting him while in
motion.
Merlin: You're a quick little bunny. He says jokingly to Eric.
Eric: You're tougher than I thought... He says, more to himself.
Kindron pours himself a drink while looking at the fight.
Kindron: Be careful, Merlin... He's a werewolf. So look out for
claw swipes. He says before he starts drinking, watching the
fight.
Eric takes the opportunity to try and slash Merlin before Merlin
could process what Kindron had said, but Merlin proves to be
faster as he moves away, letting the claw slash destroy some of
the room before moving in to hit Eric again with another
charging strike move. However, this time, Merlin stopped before
reaching Eric, as Eric had jumped straight back.
Merlin smiles as he moves to attack again, but this time, he
uses lightning magic, boosting himself as he charges in a blink
of an eye to Eric, catching Eric off guard. Merlin punches Eric
in the gut again hard, but this time his punch was infused with
lightning magic, which did more damage to Eric since Eric didn't
have immunity to lightning.
As Eric is sent flying, Merlin moves and hits him again with a
spinning somersault kick (which was more like it sounded), which
sent Eric through a wall.
Eric, tired and damaged from the lightning, caught a surprise
when he came back into the room through the hole in the wall he
made, only to find Merlin doing a drop kick attack that was
infused with fire magic, and not only drop-kicked Eric, but also
blasted him with a fire infused kick that burned Eric's suit and
part of his upper body as Merlin's kick cracks Eric's ribs.
Eric is sent flying again, this time through a few more tables
and almost out through the walls to the outside.
Eric, who knew he was in trouble against Merlin, decides to use
a whistle, doing a dark arts whistle in a wolf howl. The wolf
howl teleported him, and he vanishes before Merlin could cast
anymore spells.
Merlin sighs to himself and goes back to the main area, knowing
the fight was over.
Kindron keeps drinking and looks to Merlin as he walks back in.
Kindron: Nice. We had trouble with him back in London. You made
it look easy. He sighs and looks at the damage. Damn... Now we
gotta fix everything.
Merlin, realizing what Kindron said, looks at the damage the
fight did. Merlin: Son of a-! He says in anger. Merlin: I JUST
got this place looking nice! He says, noticing the bar was
messed up from the fight.
Kindron looks at the damage. He looks at the wall where Eric was
knocked through. Kindron: You know... I was thinking... Right
there. He says, pointing at where the hole was. Let's knock down
that wall, and put a stage there. Then we can get some singers
to come and perform.
Merlin looks at the hole, rubbing his chin as he thinks. Merlin:
That's... actually not a bad idea. He says to Kindron.
Kindron: I know. We just need some people who can do
performances.
Merlin: Well, I do know a few.
Kindron: Yeah, I'm sure you do. I want to get a few, so there's
a little variety. Something classy, you know? He says in
thought.
Merlin: I get what you mean.
Kindron and Merlin are silent, sensing something else as they
turn. However, as they do, something appears to vanish. It
wasn't a physical object, but a spiritual being that was there
watching them.
Kindron: The heck was that?
Merlin: It... felt like a spirit. He says, curious. But not like
a normal spirit. It felt like a corrupted great spirit. At
least, for that brief moment before it vanished.
Kindron: Yeah. So it appears. He says, thinking.
Merlin: Something wrong? Do you know who or what that was? He
says to Kindron, concerned.
Kindron: I dunno... Maybe. He says. It seemed familiar. Great
spirit... Corrupted... I can't quite put my finger on it, but it
sounds familiar. I wonder if it has anything to do with my
abilities I've gained lately.
Merlin: What abilities? He says to Kindron curiously.
Kindron creates three balls of mana. However, he then uses an
art to use his emotional state to turn each ball of mana into
mana elementals, where one uses the passion emotion to create
fire, the coldness emotions to create ice, and the creativity
emotions to create lightning. Each of the three elements shines
for a moment.
Merlin: What the heck is that? Mana elementals? I didn't know
that was possible. He says with a curious look.
Kindron: You got me... I have NO idea where I picked up this
ability... But I suspect it has something to do with my sudden
awakening of ice abilities. For some reason, I gained a third
Darkfire elemental recently out of nowhere. Even my father was
surprised when I told him how randomly it happened.
Merlin: You have GOT to teach me that! That looks awesome! He
says to Kindron with a smile, curious about his new mana arts.
Kindron: That's the thing... I don't know how I'm doing it. It's
like breathing. I don't think about it, it just happens. Maybe
it has something to do with all the memories I've been having
lately. I feel like it has to be something like that? He
explains.
Merlin: Huh. I've never heard of a mana art like that. Any ideas
where I might learn it?
Kindron: If I figure out where I learned it, I'll let you
know... But I do know most people can only use one of these
three. Call it a hunch, but I don't think anyone but a few
people can use all three arts like I can. I don't know why I
think that. He says with a shrug before disabling the mana orbs.
Merlin: Bummer. Well, then I'm gonna drink until I can! He says
jokingly, as he takes the bottle of liquor and pours himself
another drink.
Meanwhile, outside, as though watching Kindron and Merlin from a
nearby rooftop, a mysterious man is seen with a birdlike being
next to him. The birdlike being was a spiritual being in a
physical form, but since he wasn't visible to anyone on the
streets below, he wasn't in his human form.
Mysterious man: Moltan... You almost got seen. He says to the
birdlike being.
Moltan: I know. It wasn't intentional. I underestimated how much
of his abilities are coming back to him from his previous lives.
And the other one, the one he called Merlin... He's...
different.
Mysterious Man: I noticed that. He says, crossing his arms. He
shouldn't have been able to sense you. Only someone with
guardian blood should be able to have been able to sense you in
your spiritual state... But don't worry about him. He isn't
trained, and I doubt he'll be a threat to you. My brother only
seems interested in making him a bartender for the bar, so I
doubt he'll be too involved in my brother's activities. He
scoffs and turns to Moltan. There is a problem though... If my
brother regains his memories from his past lives, killing him
will be difficult. And... once he remembers his past lives, that
part of the curse will be overcome and he'll remember his past
lives in every life after this. He's already lived much longer
than any other life he's lived in the past. And he's stronger
than any other version of himself so far. He thinks. I'm going
to have to give this some thought. If my brother becomes aware
of us now, it will not go well.
Moltan crosses his arms. Moltan: I don't think you can stop the
reawakening of the Great Guardian. Me and the other guardians
told you once before... The prophecy will be fulfilled. Whether
you want it to or not. You can't seem to ever destroy his
spirit, so you could likely never truly stop him from
reawakening eventually.
The mysterious man looks back at where he could sense Kindron
and Merlin. Mysterious Man: So it appears. I guess I'm going to
have to stick to my original plan and use John Wong. I may have
failed to possess him... But at least his hatred of my brother's
current incarnation should be useful to me. He says with a
smile. He had once tried to possess John Wong without John's
knowledge, but John's devotion to his gods immediately cast the
spirit of the man out.
The man smiles sinisterly, as though looking through the
building at Kindron. Man: Soon, brother. It seems we will meet
again soon. It has been a very long time, but this will likely
be the first time you remember me. But... Just like always,
though, it will be your compassion that will be the reason you
lose to me. It is your greatest weakness. He says before turning
and walking away.
Moltan: Should I watch him? He asks simply.
Man: No... Go and get Voltaire and Tarsis. It's time to gather
all three of the guardians for what is to come. And it has
become obvious that you three won't be able to watch him any
longer. He says to Moltan before vanishing in a blast of mana.
Moltan looks at the building, also seeming to try and look at
Kindron. Moltan: Your brother is getting worse, Kirsch Xercis...
I hope that you awaken soon and remember your previous lives
soon. I still regret killing you. All three of us do. We should
never have let your brother get into our heads. Please... Stop
your brother and free us. He says, though he knew Kindron
couldn't hear him. He then vanishes in a burst of flames.
End.
