Zelpharia's Little Secret

((RP for [member=1]Zorbak the Ebil Moglin[/member] as Qrow to
start. May open for Black Sun members.))
Zelpharia had a lot to think about after helping Dufort out and
get him settled. She had introduced him to Rosetta who is the
daughter of Qrow but then she thought about how long she's kept
Rosetta's existence from her own father. Of course at the time
Rosetta was conceived, Zelpharia barely knew Qrow except that
she had met him in a bar in 1692 in Paris during the early years
of her 2nd incarnation. They had gotten into a drinking contest
that Zelpharia had provoked. The contest went for a while. Then
the two started getting very friendly while still trying to out
drink each. Well, one thing lead to another which lead to a
drunken one stand in Zelpharia's TARDIS. Within a couple of
weeks, Tara informed Zelpharia of the pregnancy while she was
working on a big problem on a Celestian colony planet in the
27th century. Zelpharia had repressed her contaminate immunity
so well while drinking that she could just remember Qrow's face,
physical features, and that he's a vampire, but couldn't
remember anything else.
Zelpharia had made sure to raise Rosetta with the knowledge of
how she came about and that one day they would find her father.
Then Zelpharia met Hei and memories of that night in Paris came
back to her. Then she met Laura and Qrow one night on a girl's
night out with Anna and Raven. That was when the full memories
flooded back fully. Zelpharia had been delaying telling Qrow
ever since until Dufort.
Zelpharia decided to talk to Laura first and explain the
situation considering the relationship Laura is with Qrow.
Zelpharia was surprised by how well Laura took everything though
Laura said she had a suspicion for awhile after the girl's
night. Laura and Zelpharia got things set up for the meeting
between Qrow and Rosetta at the bar. Now Zelpharia and Rosetta
sit at the bar with Laura cleaning a glass behind it. Zelpharia
is a ball of nerves no matter how much Laura reassures her that
everything will be fine while Rosetta looks more like she's not
getting high hopes for being accepted.
Zelpharia: I don't know if I can do, Laura. I'm just dropping
this on Qrow and you like this doesn't feel right. What if he
rejects everything?
Laura: Now you stop worrying. Qrow be a good man who can be
forgiving depending on the circumstances.. and this be one of
those understanding ones. Besides your Rosie sense strong with
Darkfire and shares a family resemblance. No denying she be a
Darkfire. So stop worrying.
Rosetta: Laura is right, Mom. I've seen pictures of Hei,
Kindron, and Qrow and friends with Yuffie and can safely say
that I even see the family resemblance. So please relax. You're
so nervous that you're starting to flare my empathic powers.
Zelpharia: Fine.. fine.. I'll try to calm down. Zelpharia says
with a nervous tone and then takes a sip of tea that Laura had
given her.
Laura: Please do because Qrow should be here any second.
Zelpharia: Oh Goddess... She then takes another sip of her tea
and thinks how she needs something stronger.

Qrow had been a little late, due to having to take out some dark
spirits that appeared. But after he was done, he headed to meet
Zelpharia and Laura.
Thankfully, Qrow made up for lost time thanks to teleporting,
stopping to get some alcohol on the way. He starts drinking,
heading to meet Zelpharia and Laura. At his side was his sword,
Yami, as was usual for Qrow to have Yami with him. Yami was an
intelligent sword, designed to fight dark spirits by Heaven, and
usually chose guardians of humans to fight dark spirits. Qrow
was the current wielder of Yami, and a sort of self-imposed
guardian of the living world that protected it from dark spirits
(though lately he had been having a lot of difficulty with that
compared to old times since dark spirits had been more easily
appearing in the world, especially in London.
Yami: Are you sure you should be drinking already, Qrow? He asks
Qrow curiously.
Qrow: It's fine. Pretty sure they both know it's what I do by
now. He says as he heads to meet Laura and Zelpharia.
Yami: You don't even know what this meeting is about, though.
What if this is a moment you need to be sober for?
Qrow: It's fine, Yami... I can handle things better when I've
been drinking anyway. I'm not as tense when I drink.
Yami: That's what most drunk people say until they realize
they're morons. He says sarcastically.
Qrow stays silent as he walks in, feeling somewhat ready for
whatever might await him.

Laura smiles brightly when she sees Qrow walk into the bar. She
notices the bottle that he has and her smile turns into a soft
wry grin. Laura waves to Qrow from behind the bar as she puts
away the glass that she finishes cleaning. Laura: There be the
man of the hour. A little late but here. She jokingly says just
to tease him a bit. Laura knows that Qrow has been busier than
usual. Laura: Come and have a seat at the bar, mi amor. You
might need it.
Zelpharia sees Laura's smile and hears her words which only
makes her more nervous about what's about to come next.
Zelpharia doesn't turn around in her seat as her nerves are
getting the best of her. Even a normal human can tell how
nervous Zeph is at this point. Zelpharia typically wouldn't
suppress her temporal 6th sense in cases like this but decided
that nervousness is better than foreseeing anger and rejection
from Qrow. Zelpharia: I think I need something stronger than
Earl Gray tea like a shot of Gentleman Jack or Everclear.
Rosetta: Relax. Everything is going to be fine, Mom. Rosetta
says to Zelpharia with an encouraging tone of voice. She then
adds telepathically. Rosetta: "Besides alcohol impairs judgement
and rational thought." Rosetta doesn't turn around to look at
Qrow but can sense her family connection to him. She figures
that Qrow should be able to sense it too if what Laura and
Zelpharia had told is right. Rosetta does get a bit nervous
herself when she senses Qrow, which she doesn't get nervous
often, and takes a bigger swallow of her JD Tennessee Apple on
the rocks. Rosetta also figures that turning to look at Qrow
would just give away the obvious better as both Zelpharia and
Laura say Rosetta looks more like Qrow than Zelpharia. She
decides to be the "unknown Darkfire" until Zelpharia makes the
introductions.

Qrow sits down. He looks at Rosetta for a moment, wondering
about her as he senses her presence. He could sense her as a
Darkfire, and didn't really know anything about her. His first
thought was either a Darkfire he didn't know, or possibly a
dimensional alternate. He turns back to the group. Qrow:
Compared to the consumers I just beat, I can't imagine this will
be worse than that. He says jokingly.

Zelpharia downs the rest of her tea like it was a shot of
alcohol after Qrow's comment which Laura was quick to refill the
cup when Zelpharia puts it down. Zelpharia: Well I can't say
this is worse than what you just went through, but it definitely
will be a surprise. She says with a bit of a nervous tone as she
looks to Qrow and gives him a nervous smile. Zelpharia doesn't
exactly know how to tell Qrow about Rosetta but knows it will be
better than how Alucard found out about Vladimir. Zelpharia had
told Laura close to everything about what happened and how she
didn't even realize that Qrow could be the father until years
later. She just hopes that Qrow is as understanding as Laura.
Zelpharia: This isn't easy to say but needs to be said. Qrow, do
you remember a night in Paris in 1692 when I challenged you to a
drinking contest in a hole-in-the-wall bar?
Rosetta looks to Qrow as he takes a seat and looks to her and
quickly sees where Hei gets his looks from. Looking at Rosetta,
Qrow would be able to see the family resemblance between her and
his other children with Rosetta having a stronger resemblance to
himself than Zelpharia. Rosetta wasn't sure how her mother was
going to handle this situation as she's suppressing her
telepathy because Zelpharia's mind is a jumble so she remains
quiet for the moment. Rosetta would be lying if she told anyone
that she feels awkward and nervous about the situation.
Laura pulls out a clean glass for Qrow after pouring more tea
for Zelpharia. She quietly places it in front of him so he can
pour himself a shot with the bottle that he brought with him.

Qrow: 1962... Paris... He thinks back for a moment and then
shrugs. Sorry... My memory isn't really the best. After a few
millennia, everything just sort of runs together. Either that or
I was too drunk to remember.
Yami: You're always too drunk, Qrow. It's a miracle you remember
getting up this morning. He says in response to Qrow's comment.
He's the stubborn type that cures hangovers with more alcohol.
He says sarcastically to the group.
Qrow, in the middle of pouring himself a drink, stops at Yami's
comment and then shrugs as he continues pouring his drink.

Zelpharia: That pretty much sounds like me after a night of
drinking certain types of alcohol. Zelpharia says to Qrow's
sword, Yami. She then takes a sip of her tea and continues with
what she has to say to Qrow. Zelpharia: As for that night in
Paris, Qrow, I really don't remember much except that we got
black out drunk without hardly knowing each other. Then one
thing lead to another which lead to you and I going back to my
TARDIS for a night of fun. Zelpharia then takes a breath and
another sip of her tea. Zelpharia: Two weeks later Tara did her
typical monthly health scan of me and informed me that I was
pregnant with your child, and then nine months later on March
29, 1693, I gave birth to healthy baby girl. I didn't know who
you were so I didn't exactly know how to find you at first, and
Tara wasn't exactly helpful as she's as stubborn about spoilers
involving my own timeline. It wasn't until I met Hei that I
realized who our daughter's father is. Zelpharia says as she
looks to Qrow with less nervousness and more apologetic look.
She then motions to Rosetta. Zelpharia: Qrow, this is your
daughter, Rosetta Tolodora-Darkfire.
Rosetta sips on her drink as her mother speaks to Qrow and keeps
quiet. She knew the story about how she was conceived so was
mostly paying attention for her introduction. When Zelpharia
motions to her, Rosetta slams the rest of her JD Tennessee
Apple, puts the glass down, and waves to Qrow as Zelpharia
finally introduces her. Rosetta: Hello, pops. Nice to finally
meet you after a couple hundred years. She says to Qrow with a
bit of a sarcastic jocular tone similar to Qrow or Kendrix.
Laura grabs a bottle of JD Tennessee Apple and pours more for
Rosetta while saying her own smartass joke. Laura: Between her
attitude and how she drinks, I definitely say she's your kid, mi
amor. There's a light laugh in Laura's voice as she speaks and
then places the bottle down when finished pouring.

Qrow: Oh boy... He says sighing as he starts drinking again. I
guess I owe a ton of child support then huh? He says jokingly.
He turns his attention to Rosetta. Nice to meet ya, I guess. I
wish I could say more, but I don't really know what to say right
now. He says, wondering what he could say to Rosetta. I'm
starting to wonder just how many kids I have running around the
world.

Without missing a beat, Rosetta follows Qrow's comment about
number of kids with a smart-ass reply. Rosetta: I'll take a stab
in the dark and say at least as many kids as Mom has running
around the universe. That makes Laura giggle a while making
Zelpharia sigh and shake her head. Rosetta then takes a sip of
drink after Laura finishes pouring it and continues. Rosetta:
And if you want to pay back child support then you can teach me
more about using this. Rosetta holds out her free hand and
produces black flames in her palm. Her voice becomes calm and
less smartass as she continues. Rosetta: Apparently not only did
the Celestian academy never experience a psychic of my caliber
since the fall of some dark time lords, but they had no clue how
to train me in my vampiric abilities. Poor Mom tried but
Vladimir coming along while we were trying to figure out what
to do when I developed my Darkfire abilities didn't help. Also
doesn't help that Vladimir is a Tepes.. or Draculesti... or
whatever Alucard's family name is.
Zelpharia takes a sip of her tea as Rosetta talks to Qrow.
Zelpharia has visibly become less nervous now that the hardest
part is over. Laura quietly puts the bottle of Tennessee Apple
down on the bar near Rosetta.

Qrow: Well, that shouldn't be too hard. Your psychic potential
and vampire/Celestian mix power seems very similar to one of
Wolf-boy's (Kindron) alternate kids (Dufort). So I'm sure we can
find a way to help train you in your Darkfire and vampire
abilities. The major thing you need to know is that our skills
require discipline and control. And from what that psychic kid
of Wolf-Boy seemed like, it seems like your immense psychic
power will require even more precise control as well. So that is
definitely where your training should start. He explains before
drinking some more.
