Jack finishes his pizza slice as he listens to Dufort and
smiles. Jack: Sounds like we might be able to pull this off
without problems with your help and calculations, Ford. He then
looks to Zelpharia with a "well what do you think" look.
Zelpharia: It's still risky, but if Dufort can position us where
we won't be sensed by his past version then I don't see why we
can't use either standard recording tech or magic tech. She says
with a hesitant yet thoughtful look. Zelpharia: We'll talk to
Nikki and see what she might have or be able to develop for us.
She makes sure to stress the "we'll" part suggesting that either
Jack or Dufort or both would be going with her to talk to Nikki.
Zelpharia: UNIT is borrowing her for defense shield upgrades so
it might be hard to pin Nikki down for too long though for the
next week.
Jack: That's fine. Take Ford with you when you go and talk to
the future tech girl. He'll be better at helping you with
explaining the situation to Nikki than me. Jack says as he grabs
another slice of pizza. Does that sound fair enough?

Jack smiles as he leans back in his chair. Jack: Good. Now that
we have the beginning of a plan to help our newest team member
clear his name. How about we go over some basic ground rules and
introduce the other kids before introducing him to the rest.
Zelpharia: Which is pretty much just Gwen, River, and Martha at
this point, and Martha and River have been busy while Gwen is on
her day off with her better half. Zelpharia then takes a bite of
her slice.
Jack: Right... so ground rules and meeting the other kids. Rule
number one: any alien technology that you use or study here in
Torchwood is to remain a secret of Torchwood unless shared with
authorized outsiders like UNIT. Rule number two: any work done
for Torchwood is to remain secret to all outside of Torchwood
unless authorized. Rule number three: relationships between
agents is looked down upon and technically a big no-no... but
rarely enforced around by this group. Personal rule: no one
outside of immediate family.. and River.. is to know about
Zeph's and my marriage. Think you can handle that, Ford?

Dufort: I think so. He says in response to Jack after he
finishes going through the rules.

Jack: Good. He says to Dufort with a satisfied smile. He then
looks to Zelpharia. Jack: Go ahead and call the kids in so they
can meet their brother.
Zelpharia puts her paper plate down and walks over to the door.
She pops open the door and steps halfway out into the main area.
This is when she notices that Franklin is here too. She looks
around a moment and sees that Colton has left the area for now
and sighs in relief. Zelpharia: Franklin.. Rosetta.. Vladimir..
will you three please come inside the office for a moment? She
then steps back inside the office.
All three look at each other a moment and then all walk into the
office. Franklin walks in first and looks to Dufort with a
curious look. Franklin: So is it our turn to know what's going
on and be introd...
Rosetta cuts off Franklin by giving him an elbow. Rosetta:
Sorry, Frank's been pacing and dealing with Vlad. Hi, I'm
Rosetta Tolodora. She says to Dufort with a smile.
Vladimir is the last one into the office and looks over Dufort.
Vladimir: Is this guy an alternate son? And why does he sense
like a guy version of Rosetta?

Dufort: Dufort Darkfire. He says, introducing himself to
Rosetta. He then turns to Vladimir. I'm guessing I sense like
her because we're both half Darkfire/Celestian hybrids.

Vladimir: So now I know why Rosetta eats like a horse but
doesn't answer if you're from an alternate universe or not.
Vladimir says to Dufort with a shrug yet a smile.
Rosetta smiles up until Dufort says that both he and she are
Darkfire/Celestian hybrids. That one makes her blink in complete
confusion and has her emotions rolling in a mix of disbelief,
confusion, and "that makes sense". Her feelings turn to annoyed
anger though after Vladimir's comment which she slaps him in the
back of the head for. She then takes a calming breath. Rosetta:
So that means I'm related fully to Kendrix from the Exiles and
Dufort in a way. Just please tell me that I share a father with
at least one of them because I really don't want this to be
hillbilly weird.
Zelpharia: Well.. talking about fathers when it comes down to
it.. Zelpharia says to Rosetta with an awkward smile. Zelpharia:
Your father is Qrow Darkfire while Dufort's father in his
universe is Kindron and Kendrix's father in his universe is Hei.
This wasn't exactly how Zelpharia wants Rosetta to find out who
her father is especially with Vladimir in the room.
Rosetta: Oh for the love of... please tell me you're kidding.
Rosetta says as she face palms with humiliation at the
realization that she's technically Dufort's and Exile Kendrix's
sister-aunt. Just to make matters worse, this revelation had to
happen in front of Vladimir who is now doubled over in laughter.
Vladimir's Thoughts: "Holy sh*t! This is absolutely the funniest
moment in my life right now! I have so many ways to make jokes
about this for at least a month!"
Frank is somehow not surprised by Dufort's comment to Vladimir
about Rosetta being a Darkfire/Celestian hybrid. He was
expecting an alternate of Rosetta to show up eventually. He's
only surprised that the alternate is a guy instead of a girl.
Now he just hopes that they don't end up with an alternate of
Vladimir because the universe couldn't handle two regardless of
gender. Franklin: Dufort? Look more like a Devin or Timothy to
me.
Jack: Nah.. he definitely looks more like a Ford. Jack says to
Franklin and then takes a bite of his pizza slice.
Franklin: How does he look like a car, Dad? Franklin
sarcastically says to Jack with a mock serious look.
Jack: I mean like someone from the Ford family. You know like
Henry Ford the founder of Earth's Ford Motor Company.
Franklin takes a closer look at Dufort and then looks to Jack.
Franklin: I don't see it. I just keep seeing a Devin not a Ford.

Dufort: Why is everyone so obsessed with finding alternate names
for me? First they tried to call me a car, now they're talking
other names. He says to Zelpharia curiously.

Zelpharia: That's just their way of showing that they like you..
well, at least for the smartasses that's how they do it. A lot
of times a nickname is a sign of acceptance and friendly humor.
She says to Dufort with a sympathetic smile.
Rosetta: At least they didn't call you Curly. That was my
nickname for a month after a very hair cut and perm, but it's
still all in good fun. Rosetta says more calmly after her
initial shock.
Franklin: Unless Vladimir starts up then there's no reading that
intended meaning.
Vladimir thinks about rebutting but can't lie about the truth
with psychics. Vladimir: At least I'm just a jackass to this
side of my bloodline and not trying to kill any of you. That is
the genuine truth in his mind. Sure he may negate powers and
regeneration during sparring, but he never uses kill shots.

Dufort didn't really know what to say to the group, so he stays
silent. He mostly just listens to everyone as they talk.
