Zelpharia: Something else you and Rosetta both have in common.
She can also wield purification psychic power and see dark
spirits and other "hidden from sight" entities. Zelpharia says
with a bit of a smile. She's quick to say what she knew Jack
would.
Jack: Rosetta can even make purification psychic energy weapons.
Jack throws in about Rosetta. Jack: Now Xeles though is a
different subject.
Zelpharia: Yes, he is... Celestians didn't call him Xeles during
the days of the Dark Council of Ten. In the old language, he was
called Xerxes which means "evil shadow of man". The Dark Council
is this universe's first record of living realm allies of Xeles.
Zelpharia's internal emotions flair a bit as she talks even
though she maintains composure. It almost as if she's giving the
information more out of emotional release than for information
relaying.
Jack: And Torchwood doesn't typically investigate beings such as
dark spirits or Shadow Realm gods, but your case and subsequent
assignment looks like that's changing things. That means getting
the hard, physical evidence. I would say video recording would
be a good idea except for one thing. Jack says as he gently taps
the folder filled with imprisoned dark spirits.

Dufort: Well... I already recommended a course of action to
mother about getting the evidence we need against Stormstar
Industries. With Nightshade and the Witches allied with people
that are allied with Xeles, then it sounds like our work is cut
out for us.

Jack: Oh we're definitely going to have our work cut out for us.
Jack says in response to Dufort. Jack: As for the recommended
course of action, let me guess. Go back in time and video record
the Stormstar incident, right?
Zelpharia is quick to answer that one. Zelpharia: Yes, you are
correct, and I figured that you could join me.
Jack: Great idea, but dark spirits know at least me and would
probably recognize my presence. Jack sighs a bit as he gets a
serious thoughtful look. Jack: Being a time anomaly has pros and
cons and being sensed by those with ESP is a con. I also don't
want to risk Zeph getting caught either.
Zelpharia: So how do we record? Hack the security system?
Jack gets a big grin and the sense of a smartass emanates as he
gets an idea. He just open the folder and slides out just one
picture. Jack: Actually I was thinking that we just surveil and
record through donated photographic artwork like this. He says
as he holds up the picture of a crystalline wall of Celestian
architecture with a trapped single dark spirit.

Re: Welcome to Torchwood, Dufort

Dufort: You can't hack the security system. When we infiltrated,
I was in the security system and I didn't detect anyone else
hacking the system whether it was through the system itself or
through any of my psychic abilities. Also, the electrical and
security systems had dark spirits flowing through them at the
time. And if we take out the dark spirits, I guarantee past me
is going to sense it. We have to make sure we don't get detected
by me in the past, or by anyone else in our group. If we get
caught by the past versions of me and the group, or by the
leader of Nightshade, we will diverge the flow of time and
create a new timeline. Then we're going to have a whole other
set of problems, because I calculate that kind of change could
radically change the battles with Nightshade in the new
timeline. By my calculations, it will create a chain effect of
minor events that will culminate in a large change to history
that will turn the tide of Nightshade's war with Hellsing
specifically, and then it will spiral with Nightshade even being
able to turn the tides against Black Sun as well. And that's
before it changes events with Chaos, Malice, Galian and a slew
of other events. At least... That's according to the
calculations I could do off hand with the information I have now
and my rough error estimates. There's a lot of uncertainty
calculations to be done with some events that I can't do in my
head. He says to Zeph and Jack. Though he couldn't accurately
predict everything and he didn't have the same level of
precognition a time lord like Zeph has, it was clear that he
could predict events with calculations almost to the same
accuracy as a time lord sensing the future like Zeph, and
predicting events to a fairly accurate degree (though he
couldn't predict the fine details without more information).

Jack: Yes, yes.. I am aware that sensing us is a bad thing in
this situation. Jack says to Dufort with a confident smile.
Jack: I also have a feeling that you can sense every trapped
dark spirit in the Time Lord photos in this file along with the
one in this picture. It takes a psychic as powerful as Rosetta
and yourself to detect trapped beings and spirits in pictures
like this, but so far no psychics except for those like
Zelpharia can detect computerized devices in them. He says as he
places the one picture down. Jack: That's why I am suggesting
hiding the recording devices in Time Lord photographs that could
be given to Stormstar Industries.
Zelpharia: It would also be hard for Dufort or other
non-telemechanic psychics to detect an android as well. She says
with a thoughtful look as she thinks about Naomi. Zelpharia: We
could see if Naomi could help us as well with a couple of
domestic model androids. Set them up with ways to sneak in and
out of the pictures in order to set up other hidden recording
devices.
Jack: That could work too. He says to Zelpharia and then looks
to Dufort with a raised eyebrow. Jack: The real questions what
do you think and what do you know of Time Lord technology
because our options aren't the greatest without recruiting at
least the rest of the Torchwood crew.
Vladimir crosses his arm as he begins to get a bored but his
mind still tries to work out how an alternate of his mother got
together with a Darkfire. Not that Vladimir hates the Darkfires,
but he just couldn't see his mother hooking up with someone like
Hei or Qrow.. Kindron is a maybe. He then wonders if this means
that the Darkfires might be coming around Torchwood more often.
Rosetta can hear and see every single on of Vladimir's thoughts
and sighs. Rosetta: A Darkfire is far more compatible with Mom
than freaking Alucard. At least they would treat you like family
if you were a kid of one them unlike Alucard according to their
file. She says as she pulls up Torchwood's file on the Darkfire
family and opens it. Kindron is the first family member file
that she opens. Rosetta: Seriously, Kindron would totally be a
match for Mom if he wasn't married. She says not knowing that an
alternate Kindron Darkfire is Dufort's father.
Vladimir: I really hate it when you read my mind.
Rosetta: Then improve your mental defenses against psychic
powers like mine.

Dufort: I can detect mechanical beings like androids using my
psychic presence sense combined with my technokinesis. But the
android does have to be close enough for me to sense. It would
be the same for the pictures. I'd have to be close to sense
those, probably in the same room. If the androids stay far
enough away from me, then they should be able to avoid my past
self's senses. As for the time lord tech. I don't have the same
temporal senses and technology as a full time lord since I'm not
one. But my mentor gave me full thorough training in Time Lord
tech, including schooling me on most of the time lord enemies
and how to avoid time lords that might try to hunt me down.
Thankfully though, we can avoid my past self if we stay far
enough away. I would be able to sense a TARDIS, but only if it
were close to the building. If we land about a block away, that
will be far enough I won't be able to sense it there even
accounting for error. I think if we can do this from a distance,
then we can easily make it work. I'm not worried about avoiding
me though, so much as avoiding that dark spirit. I don't know
how far his senses extend, and considering he has Kendrix
Darkfire's powers, including those from Alucard, I assume he has
an omnipresence type power as well.

Jack puts the picture away with the others as Dufort speaks and
then picks up the folder as he quickly opens the warded drawer.
Jack puts the folder in and closes the drawer again. Jack:
Check. Putting androids and surveillance equipment could still
be detected by your past self and possibly by dark-n-brooding
guy that you fought. We don't technically need a TARDIS to
travel through time and arrive at a safe distance just outside
of your range. As much as Zeph hates it, I do have a modified
Time Agency issued time jump device right on my wrist. That
should get us there plus should be far less detectable than the
TARDIS.
Zelpharia: I think I have an idea when it comes to recording
equipment for long distance recording.. and surprisingly its
nothing we have here. Hawkeye with UNIT might be able to get me
some UNIT surveillance equipment and spy-fly drones. That way we
can hopefully get video from a safe distance without being
detected. Even if this guy has omnipresence of Alucard, it has
limits. If he's focused on past Dufort and friends, then his
omnipresence wouldn't alert him to such tiny, non-conflict spy
drones. The best that past Dufort would figure when he sense
UNIT technology is that Stormstar is under surveillance by more
than just himself and friends. That also wouldn't greatly affect
the time line as UNIT is extremely well known for spying on
rising technology firms before approaching or declaring an
enemy.

Re: Welcome to Torchwood, Dufort

---------------------------------------------------------
Dufort: No. We need to make sure past me doesn't sense the UNIT
drones. I didn't sense any UNIT drones, and if past me thinks we
have the safety of UNIT watching us, then past me won't feel the
need to take the fall for the group if he thinks they were
watching the whole thing and that could lead to another change
in the timeline. Not too severe a change overall, but it will
lead to our entire group likely getting pegged as criminals
instead of just me which I'd like to avoid. Our best shot is to
start recording when I join the battle with the dark spirit guy,
because I'll be too focused on them to sense what's going on
outside. However, when the others jump out the window to escape,
we have to have the robots gone by then because I'll be focused
on what's around the others when they jump out, and around me
when I jump out the window after them. It can work, but we have
to avoid any detection by past me for this to work without
creating an alternate timeline. It's difficult, but doable.
Especially since I can help you with finding gaps in what I
could or couldn't sense during that incident. The only variable
I can't fully account for is the other dark spirit guy because
he actually outsmarted me during that incident, so it wouldn't
surprise me if he could do it again. He explains, the last part
he says hesitantly, not wanting to admit that Kuroshi had
outsmarted him that day. Due to how high Dufort's IQ was, and
how much psychic potential he had, it wasn't easy that anyone
would be able to get the better of Dufort, which showed just how
smart Kuroshi was.

Jack: Right... so it's definitely sounding more like distance
recording is to be what we need just to make sure that we don't
get sensed by either Dufort or the dark spirit guy. Anything up
close could get us caught and hacking the security system is
out. Jack says as he leans back with a thoughtful look. A knock
comes from the office door. Jack: Come in.
Ianto pops in with a pizza box and three paper plates in hand.
Ianto: Office brunch just arrived and thought I would bring a
box in here. He says as he walks over and puts the pizza box and
plates on Jack's desk. Ianto: Didn't mean to interrupt.
Jack: It's fine. Oh and tell the nosey ones that they'll find
out what's going on soon enough. He says as he leans forward,
grabs the plates off the pizza box, and opens up the box to
reveal a ranchero style breakfast pizza.
Ianto: Yes, sir. I've been telling them that but you know kids
these days. Ianto says as he walks back out of the office and
closes the door behind him.
Jack: Sorry, I haven't eaten yet. Jack then focuses back on
Dufort and Zelpharia as he grabs a plate and a slice. Jack:
Please have some while we figure out the best distance recording
because it definitely isn't going to figure out the safest way,
and you might get hungry.

Dufort doesn't hesitate to grab a plate and grabs a few slices.
Dufort: Don't mind if I do... I've been living on prison food
for over a year. He says as he almost immediately starts eating.
