Jack laughs a bit. Jack: Sounds like you and I have similar jobs
when it comes to Zelpharia and Kindron and their work. Jack
smiles then as he thinks of something. Jack: I know that you're
psychic, but I'm curious. Are you also a Time Lord too? Jack
knows how powerful Rosetta is psychically and that she is the
one kid of Zelpharia that isn't a Time Lord because of it. Now
he's curious if that's the same case for Dufort.
Zelpharia finishes delivering Jack's message to Ianto who
immediately goes up to the Torchwood disguised entrance that's
made to resemble an old seedy motel to make the food order. On
her way back to Jack's office, she hears the sound of another
TARDIS landing and pauses to look at it. She frowns a bit
realizing that it's Vladimir's TARDIS. Zelpharia: This I wasn't
expecting. Jack must have called Vladimir here. She then turns
and walks back to Jack's office. Dufort would be able to sense
Zelpharia's apprehension of Vladimir's possible behavior as she
gets closer to the office door. Zelpharia: I really hope
Vladimir doesn't to be his usual jackass self, or Gods help me,
I'll smack that boy along the back side of his head.

Dufort: I'm not. My mentor didn't attempt to train me as a time
lord because he thought I was too unstable because of my psychic
power and thought the amplification of my psychic power that
would come with being a time lord would overwhelm me. He holds
up his hand and shows his alchemic magic in the form of a small
bolt of lightning, being careful not to hurt any electronics
with it or affect them with the magnetic properties. I am one
the only Celestians though that can use and understand magic.

Jack raises an eyebrow in interest as Dufort talks and is
impressed by the bolt.To Jack, Dufort seems to be a male
alternate to Rosetta with the exception of magic. Rosetta wields
raw psychic energy as weapons and to simulate some spells.
Another difference, Zelpharia can't remember who Rosetta's
father is, but Jack's keen eye and mind are quick to pick up on
other similarities. As for the bolt, luckily there's plenty of
open stone and concrete bare walls for Dufort to target. Jack:
Nice trick with the electricity. Not too dissimilar to Rosetta
except I've never seen her use magic. Zeph decided the same
thing for Rosetta as your mentor and for similar reasons. Jack
smiles a bit to Dufort. Jack: I have seen Rosie use white
lightning and dark fire but not through magic. Jack then softly,
quickly chuckles as he looks like he's figuring out a puzzle.
Jack reaches over to his keyboard and types a database search on
the Darkfires just out of a hunch in his gut as he talks. Jack:
Just always credit that to Zelpharia's electrokinesis... though
the dark fire throws me off.
Zelpharia stops before entering Jack's office. She can hear
what's being said by Jack and quickly figures out that Jack is
learning and solving at the same time. She wonders what Jack's
angle is though as she decides to wait a moment. She also prays
that Vladimir gives her just one moment to listen.

Dufort: Is that so? He says as he dispels his magic lightning.
He then forms dark flames around his hand using his Darkfire
power which wasn't magic, but just standard dark flames of the
Darkfire family. Are her dark flames like this? The easy answer
is that she could be descended from my father's family, though I
do know that not all dark flame users are Darkfires.

[B]Jack's smile broadens a bit as Dufort shows Jack his dark
flames. The look is almost as if a detective is near figuring
out a case. Jack and Zelpharia have often talked about
possibilities of who Rosetta's father might be. Now Dufort is
shedding a far more firm possibility.[/b] Jack: That is exactly
what Rosetta's dark fire is like. It's almost like you're a male
version of her. Jack's search results pop up on his computer
screen as he speaks. He opens Qrow's, Hei's, and Kindron's file.
He's quick to dismiss London Kindron though due to him being a
werepyre. Jack: You suggested that she could possibly be a
descendant of a Darkfire. Zelpharia has taught me a few things
about Darkfire family. Example, the Darkfire clan is very family
oriented and can sense one another. Jack leans forward a bit.
Jack: So what does your senses say about her in that regard?
Zelpharia quickly figures out where Jack is going. She inwardly
sighs as she wishes Jack wasn't nosy detective this soon.
Zelpharia was about to open the door but waits a moment longer
which is out of her normal nature. She finds herself wanting to
hear Dufort's answer and see if he can back up Laura's words
about Rosetta being a Darkfire is true. She knows about Laura's
powers and that she dates Qrow, but Zelpharia rather hear
another Darkfire say it before dropping a bomb on the rest of
the Darkfire family like that.
Vladimir finally opens his TARDIS door and steps out. He thought
about just hollering hello to his mother but decides better when
he sees how she's standing at the door. Vladimir walks over to
Rosetta and Colton. Vladimir: What's up with Mom?
Rosetta: Not sure about right now since she blocks most
telepathic abilities from reading her. All I can figure is that
Jack is having a deep conversation with the new guy.
Vladimir: New guy?? He asks with the sound of amusement.
Vladimir: Then why did Jack call me here? I ain't a member of
Torchwood.
Colton grabs the file on Dufort and hands it to Vladimir.
Colton: That's because the tender foot is also your brother from
another universe.
Vladimir: *takes and look at the file* What the hell? An
alternate of Mom got it on with a Darkfire? Seriously??
Rosetta: Yep... absolutely serious.

Dufort: Huh... Well that eliminates her potentially being
related to the death wraith Darkfire family I've heard about
since their shadow elementals are very different. At least from
what I've heard. He then looks to Jack as she asks what his
senses say about her. Combined with Jack's demeanor and him
pulling files on Kindron, Hei and Qrow, Dufort figured out
pretty quickly what Jack was trying to figure out. You want to
know who her father is, I take it. He says in response to Jack.
However, he was a bit hesitant since it was Zelpharia's business
and not his in Dufort's eyes. But then he notices Zelpharia
outside the door, but not coming in, noting that she could have
stopped the conversation if she didn't want the conversation to
continue. Of course, assuming Zelpharia wanted the conversation
to continue was just an assumption since he couldn't easily read
her mind, and wasn't about to try and force himself into her
mind to read it. Dufort: Well... Luckily I have a psychic power
that's purpose is to answer any question based on the
information I have. So here goes... He says as he uses his
Answer-Talker ability. There was no visible sign of using the
power, but his psychic power was using the information he had to
answer the question of who Rosetta's father would most likely
be. He used what he knew so far, and all the information he had.
Though when he got an answer to his question, there was a
visible surprise on his face for a moment before he went back to
his usual blank expression. Dufort: Well... Keep in mind that I
could be wrong. My Answer-Talker ability isn't always accurate
if I don't have all the information necessary to answer a
question... He says, not sure if he should believe what his
Answer Talker ability gave him as an answer. But the most likely
Darkfire to be her Father is Grandpa Qrow.

Jack sits back as Dufort speaks and raises an eyebrow with the
look of surprise that Dufort gets. He smiles with an impressed
look when Dufort says that Qrow is the most likely candidate for
Rosetta's father. Jack: Well that is a very useful ability. I
started to suspect Qrow or Hei, and you've pretty much narrowed
it down even more. I'm sure you're probably wondering why I
would be concerned about Rosetta like I am. Jack relaxes his
mind once again. Jack: You could say that by Celestian and
Federation laws I am her stepfather. I'd explain more but then
we're getting into time travel and how she met me before I met
her. It just gets compli...
Dufort's answer of Qrow being Rosetta's father most likely
brings a flood of hazy memories. She remembers the Paris seedy
bar, how she met Qrow, challenged him to a drinking contest with
her paying the tab, got basically black out drunk, and took Qrow
back to her TARDIS. He was gone before she woke up so Zelpharia
never got his name in the morning. Zelpharia mentally face palms
but for the briefest second as she recovers. She opens the
office and walks in which interrupts Jack. Zelpharia:
Timey-whimey stuff always gets complicated even when it sounds
simple. Jack, thank you for being your usual nosey detective
self in the family. I now halfway remember what happened. She
says with a partially embarrassed smile to Jack and Dufort.
Zelpharia: Thank you for your talent, Dufort.

Dufort: Yeah... Wykoth, in my world, already gave me the
conversation about how time works. I'm not stupid. I can handle
the complicated explanations. I already know how time is
non-linear, and how multi-timeline temporal mechanics work, and
I even know how to calculate spacial and temporal timeline
events and how time lords impact them to a pretty accurate
degree. I even worked on calculating temporal distortion events
better than some of time lords can with their more advanced
technology. Trust me. I'm much smarter than you seem to think.
He says, crossing his arms, in response to them talking about
time travel being complicated.

Jack: I'm sorry if we offended you, but you also have to realize
how much of a habit that is on world that doesn't have many time
travelers. Jack says with an apologetic look and tone. Jack:
Though this time it might also be because of what happened back
then and how it almost killed Zelpharia.
Zelpharia's internal emotions become chaotic as she fights off a
bout of PTSD though externally she shows very little. Zelpharia:
Jack, we don't need to talk about this. Her voice started off
shaky but smooths into more of a plea.
Jack: Ford has the right to know about our experience with dark
spirits before he goes trusting us like he did the Scooby-Doo
gang. Jack says as he reaches down and unlocks a magic warded
draw. Jack opens it which instantly would flood psychic senses
like Dufort's with the presence of imprisoned evil entities
including dark spirits. Jack quickly finds the file that he's
looking for, pulls it out, and closes the draw which reactivates
the wards. Jack: Though it wasn't the dark spirits that almost
killed Zelpharia. The folder in his hand wreaks strong of
multiple imprisoned dark spirits as he places it in front of
Dufort. The folder is marked "Case: Dark Council of Ten. Jack:
It was the 10 Time Lord leaders of the Celestian Empire who
aligned themselves with Xeles prior to the Great Revolution of
Celestia. That's the case files with the photos I secretly took
using a Time Lord camera... all 20 photos.

Dufort mentally focuses as the presence of dark spirits is
flooded into his psychic senses, making sure he wouldn't be
overwhelmed. Thankfully, he had spirit purification magic he
could use to protect himself from the aura. Why the heck has
Xeles been coming up so much lately? It feels like two years ago
no one knew who he was, then all of a sudden it feels like
everyone has heard of, or is allied with him? He says
sarcastically. Though he knew groups like the Witches of Salem
and Nightshade clearly allied with forces of Xeles, and the
Witches of Salem even worshipped Xeles, it still was a comment
he couldn't help but make. It's too bad I can't teach mom spirit
purification magic... He says with a shrug. But I do have spirit
purification psychic power, even though my version of my mother
said it evolved out of most Celestians over time when they
started relying more on tech than psychic power.
