Zelpharia knows that Dufort is right but hates arguing with Jack
when the rare occasions occur. She sighs a bit and walks into
Jack's office behind Dufort and then closes the door.
Jack sits back in his chair with his arms crossed as he watches
Dufort walk in first followed by Zelpharia. Jack: As unhappy
about certain things as I am, I have to admit that the kid
already impresses. He says to Zelpharia with a serious look.
Jack: He managed to get you in here in under five minutes. He
then continues to speak to both of them in general after get a
guilty, apologetic smile from Zelpharia. Jack: Now I get why
Zelpharia went behind my back and talked to the Queen. The young
man is an alternate son. Jack's emotions turn to that of an
upset husband and father as he picks up Dufort's police record.
Jack: If it had been Zelpharia's and my son who had done
something this incredibly risky and illegal.. Jack sighs a bit
as he puts the file down. Jack: ..then I would've done the same
damn thing. Jack then looks directly at Dufort with a
scrutinizing expression. It's obvious that Jack is looking to
read Dufort's body language for hints of deception which he's
well trained in as a former Time Agent. Jack: Dufort.. Funny.
You look more like a Ford to me. Anyways.. please give me a very
good and truthful answer as to why you went after Stormstar
Industries the way that you did.

Dufort: Did all of you only write one joke about my name? He
asks sarcastically. Dufort's body language was pretty standard
for that of a Darkfire, in which he was pretty well controlled.
Though his cold nature would probably be easily detectable,
since Dufort was someone who showed no emotions at all. His
blank expression seemed to give nothing about his mental state,
making it hard to tell what he was thinking. However, Dufort did
seem like someone who didn't show signs of deception, even
though with a Darkfire it was almost impossible to tell when
they were being deceptive. Dufort looks to Jack as he asks for
the reason he went after Stormstar for a moment before crossing
his arms. You know... At this point, it would just be easier to
show you my memories of the incident so I don't have to explain
this for the fourth time today. I should have started doing this
earlier... I only didn't because I don't like letting people
read my mind. He says before he uncrosses his arms and he walks
over to Jack, preparing to use his telepathic psychic power to
show Jack his memories of the incident.

Jack: I don't normally like letting psychics touch my mind, but
I'll make an exception this time since I know how annoying
repeating yourself can be. Jack says as he takes a more relaxed
position in his chair and releases what trained mental guards he
has up. Jack: Touching my head or hand?
Zelpharia remains quiet for the moment.

Dufort: Your head. I have to connect to your mind for this,
which means brain. He says as he reaches across Jack's desk and
goes to touch his forehead. Once he does, Dufort uses his
Disciplined Mind combined with his telepathic powers to show
Jack the entire Stormstar incident going up to Dufort turning
himself him, and his plan that was for the others that were
helping him to find evidence to clear him.
It actually wasn't necessary for Dufort to touch someone to use
his telepathic powers on them, but it was easier with less
resistance if he applied the powers directly through his
disciplined mind ability which made a smoother connection.

Jack frowns a bit as he sees everything that Dufort had seen and
done. This does justify the Queen's own suspicion about
Stormstar Industries. Once Dufort is done, Jack sits back in his
chair with a thoughtful look and folding his hands in his lap.
Dufort can sense that Jack absolutely believes him Jack: That
is a good reason. So I guess this means your mother and I are
going to have to do what we do best in a situation like this.
Zelpharia: Come up with a plan on how to get evidence without
messing with any of our timelines that may or may not involve
others? She says with a bit of a grin and a raised eyebrow.
Jack raises his right hand and points to Zelpharia with a grin.
Jack: Bingo! Zeph, go tell Ianto to order the Torchwood usual.
This may take awhile. He then looks to Dufort as he lowers his
hand and Zelpharia walks the office. Jack: Since you didn't talk
to Zelpharia first, we're going to go about this evidence
collection a different way. You might as well take a seat and
tell me a bit about yourself. He says as he kicks his feet up on
his desk and his hands behind his head.

Dufort goes and sits down as Jack asks him to tell more about
himself. Dufort: Not too much to tell about me... I'm half
vampire and half Celestian. In my world, I was born to my mother
after her second regeneration and my father, Kindron Darkfire
who was a pure blood vampire in my world rather than the
werepyre he is in this world. I have among the strongest psychic
potential of almost any Celestian I've ever met. After my mother
disappeared and my father was killed by the Order of the Dragon,
I was found by Wykoth and he trained me after he had sought to
help try and fight the Order's rule of our world. But then he
got captured by a member of the Order and eventually I ended up
with the Crow Mercenaries trying to defeat the Order of the
Dragon... Before they turned our world into a glass floor
because they're a*sholes.

Jack: Damn.. sorry about what happened to your family and world.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep that from happening here. He
says with genuine sympathy for what Dufort has lost. A stray
thought about sending Zelpharia away for her safety briefly
crosses his mind. Jack: Hopefully you'll feel comfortable with
the mismatched family we have here. I'm sure you've already
picked up on Rosetta and Franklin. I called Vladimir, but he
shows up when he decides he's ready.
Zelpharia walks out of Jack's office and over to Ianto. This
grabs Colton's attention. Colton: No yelling? I thought he'd be
mad and yell like he does to me.
Zelpharia: I have special timing. Five minutes is all he needs.
She responds to Colton as she gets to Ianto.
Ianto looks to Colton with a smart-ass look. Ianto: That's how
you can tell which is the favorite between us. She's a five
minute cool down while I'm a ten minute cool down.

Dufort: I did pick up on the other two. Mom hadn't told me she
had other kids before today, so I didn't know I'd have other
siblings.

Jack gets an ironic smile as he knows how absent minded
Zelpharia gets at times. Jack: She's been busy between
communicating with potential alien allies, upgrading and
maintaining the Earth's defense shield, helping Hellsing, and
whatever project she's been working on in the Torchwood lab
which all that has made her a bit absent minded. Jack says as he
removes his feet from his desk, brings his hands back to rest on
the arms of his chair, and leans forward a bit. Jack: There's
been times when I've had to literally drag her out of the lab
after she's been locked in for weeks. He then leans back a bit.
Jack: So I'm not surprised if telling you about the others
slipped her mind. That's why I called Vladimir and Franklin to
come to Torchwood.

Dufort shrugs. Dufort: I'm used to that. My father is the same
way. If I didn't keep track of time for him, he'd spend weeks in
his little lab working on stuff.
