Zelpharia walks up the Tara's command console as she listens to
Dufort but pauses and turns around to look at him as he
continues to speak. She frowns a bit at the thought of Dufort
being abandon in jail by his friends as guilt fills her for not
being more aware. Zelpharia then goes to Dufort out of pure
motherly instinct and gives him a hug. Zelpharia: I doubt that
your friends were just going to leave you rot in jail, Dufort,
and I am so sorry that I myself didn't step in sooner. I am
disappointed that you didn't come to me first before following
through with your first attempt to infiltrate Stormstar though,
but the young tend to make mistakes. Zelpharia says as she steps
back a bit and leaves her hands on his shoulder. Zelpharia: Now
you're out of jail and in the service of someone who believes
the same as you about the company and its connection to
Nightshade.. and not too many are willing to question Queen
Elizabeth decisions. If your friends didn't abandon you, then
we'll find out how far they've gotten in terms of physical
evidence, but we can't inform them that you are being backed by
the Queen.. yet. Okay?
Colton steps on board behind Dufort and closes the door behind
himself. He's tempted to be a smartass but refrains as he
remembers how his mother use to get when interrupted during a
serious conversation.

Dufort: If I had gone to you, there's a good chance you might
have springed their trap. I feel as though the trap they laid
out was meant for Hellsing. Dufort hugs her back when she hugs
him. Dufort: As for Chelsea's group, I don't care if they know
or not. At this point, I don't really care. I hoped they would
get the job done, but apparently they didn't, so it doesn't
matter. Honestly, it would be faster if you went back in time
and just recorded the whole incident. Or even better, bring
police with you that you can show the incident to while
recording it. That way you could have seen what really happened
and you could have done so without interfering with the
timeline. If I could have talked to you before you came to see
me, I'd have told you to do just that.

Zelpharia didn't like hearing what Dufort says about not caring
about Chelsea and her friends, but also doesn't know of them to
defend them. She can still help in terms of going back in time
and recording the events like Dufort suggests. Zelpharia: Well I
honestly don't know Chelsea and her friends enough to justify
their actions. I can go back in time still and record the events
like you suggest but...
Colton: There's always a but. He says with a smart-ass grin.
Zelpharia gives Colton a glare and then regains her composure as
she returns to Dufort. Zelpharia: As I was saying I want to do
better than take just cops with me. I want to take Lorenzo and
Jack.. maybe Dr. Canaan. Lorenzo and Jack joining me will give
you far more credible witnesses.

Dufort: Let's just move on from Chelsea and her friends... I'll
find out at some point what they were doing when it's more
convenient. He says, pretty much emotionally detached from the
situation, and while he didn't seem that trusting of Chelsea and
the group, he also didn't seem to want to be eager to try and
get angry at them. As for the recording, that's kind of what I
assumed you'd do... It would only really be credible if you got
the important people and showed them what happened. Dr. Caanan
already believes me so it wouldn't be that hard to get him on my
side. Having those like Lorenzo would be helpful to let them see
what really happened. I'd also suggest showing Dr. Barker what
happened. He's been pretty supportive, and he's been on my side
since I met him. It helps that he's one of Father's friends. He
says, referencing the fact that Nate Barker was friends with
Kindron.And he was doing his own investigation into Stormstar
Industries at Father's request. So he might have more
information on them.

Zelpharia: Hmm... I'll have to talk to this Dr. Barker then so I
can show him. I also didn't know that Kindron has an interest in
Stormstar Industries. Of course I've been busy with upgrades to
Hellsing's AI system, the Earth's defense shielding, tracking
and investigating unnerving transdimensional portal signatures
across the universe, and meetings with leaders of alien races
within the Federation that I've been rather hard to pin down for
too long. She shakes her head a bit to get herself back on
track. Zelpharia: Anyways.. It sounds like Kindron and her
Majesty have similar interests and that I should perhaps
introduce Dr. Barker and Kindron to the Queen for a chat.
Zelpharia says with a thoughtful look as she turns and walks
over to Tara's control console. Zelpharia: But first, we need to
go back to Torchwood and talk about this among other things with
the other leader of the motley crew I call family.
Colton cracks a grin as he walks away from the door and next to
Dufort. Colton: 10 to 1 odds that Boss Man calls y'all in the
office before Ianto is done greeting the kid.
Zelpharia: I don't bet when I know the odds are against me,
Colt. Zelpharia says as she begins to punch in coordinates and
hit buttons that starts up Tara's main temporal engine with its
wheeze like sound. She looks to Dufort with an apologetic look.
Zelpharia: Please don't mind the smartarse. He likes to rile my
nerves.. but I can't say that Colton is wrong. Jack might be a
little mad because I went behind his back when comes to getting
you out of jail, but he'll get over it and start treating you
like everyone else.

Dufort: I don't mind smartasses... If I can handle Akari,
Takahashi, Raven, and Amber's level of smartassery, I think I
can handle anything. The only thing I care about is people just
not trying to be secretive with me. I hate it when people try to
use me or they don't like me, but try to pretend like I can't
see what they're doing. As long as people are up front about
their intentions, I'll be fine. He explains to Zelpharia. It was
obvious that Dufort was not only not very trusting of people,
but he had also had a lot of bad experiences in the past with
people either trying to use his psychic abilities or trying to
pretend to be friends with him despite not liking him.

Zelpharia: Well no one in Torchwood is in the habit of using
others or keeping secrets.. except for personal relationships.
Hopefully you'll be able to come to trust us. She says with a
smile as the TARDIS takes off. Zelpharia: I'm also hoping that
you'll get to know my other children, both this universe and
another alternate. I think you'll get along with Rosetta who's
also a powerful psychic. Franklin may be a smart-ass, but he's
loyal and caring. Kendrix, an alternate kid of Hei Darkfire and
myself, is a good kid with temporal-spacial distortion powers.
Colton remains quiet for now.

Dufort: We'll see I guess. He says simply. It took him some time
before he started to warm up to even Blademaster Raven and
Takahashi, so taking to Zeph's other kids might clearly take
some work.

In the TARDIS:
Zelpharia: Yes, we will see. You'll get to spend more time with
Rosetta than, Franklin, Vladimir, or Kendrix though. Rosetta
works at Torchwood so is around more often. The boys on the
other hand keep themselves busy with how things have been
lately. I'm also hoping that we'll get know each other better as
well. She says with a warm smile. She doesn't pretend to know
what Dufort in the past but can tell that he's been through some
rough times. She, herself, had trust issues for quite some time
because of her own past. Zelpharia: I'd like for us to be more
like family, but I know that will take time.
Colton remains quiet.
In Torchwood:
Ianto goes about daily chores in the main hall as Rosetta and
Franklin talk to each. Gwen has taken the day off to spend with
her husband while God knows where River is. Jack is sitting in
his office fuming after reading Zelpharia's note with the royal
assignment papers for Dufort. Rosetta figures it was best to
keep Franklin entertained while his father calms down. Rosetta:
So Jack just calls you to get here asap?
Franklin: Yeah. Not sure exactly why Dad did, but he said that
we need to have a talk with Mom. I then get here, and he's
locked himself in his office just ranting.
Ianto: He's just mad because Zelpharia went and pulled strings
for a kid in jail.
Franklin: Mom wouldn't do that without a damn good reason.
Ianto walks over to the desk that Rosetta and Franklin are with
a police profile paper. He then places it in front of Franklin
and points to Dufort's name. Ianto: I do believe that is a damn
good reason.
Franklin and Rosetta read the name on the file. Rosetta raises
an eyebrow while Franklin shakes his head. Franklin: I really
hope he's an alternate kid, or it's time Mom stops drinking.

Dufort: I'm sure it will be fine. It's actually been a little
easier to get to know you and Father in this world since you're
different from the ones in my world. In my world, father was a
pure vampire, while you were in your second incarnation so you
were a bit of a different person too. Nothing replaces the
family you lose, but it has been somewhat nice to have new
family to help fill the gaps. He explains.
