Re: Welcome to Torchwood, Dufort

Vladimir: Well that is impressive indeed. Not exactly the old
Tepes power, but it's still impressive. He says as he lets his
hand return to normal. Vladimir: I like this kid.
Rosetta: Well if you can copy psychic powers then you should be
able to copy this easy enough.Rosetta says after Vladimir
finishes. She then focuses her psychic energy into a psi-sword
of purifying psychic energy. Rosetta: It's useful against dark
spirits when faced against them.

After seeing Rosetta's psychic blade, Dufort is able to recreate
it perfectly with his psychic power copy. He ignites a blade of
the same purifying psychic energy. Dufort: I've seen a few
others do this before, but not quite with the potency of power
you have. A little honing, and this should be very useful. It's
actually stronger than my spirit purification alchemy magic
currently. He says to Rosetta.

Rosetta nods in approval with an impressed look. Rosetta: Now
that's impressive for a first try. You have quite a bit
potential. Now if all of my psychic powers were that easy to
teach. Like my ability to see invisible portals and weak spots
in the fabric of space-time would be harder since I just see
them.
Vladimir: I'll be honest. I'm glad that I'm not psychic, but it
would be interesting in some regard. He says more to himself
than to Dufort and Rosetta.

Dufort: I understand some of them not being easy to teach... I
have a few of my own that are always active, and are more of a
pain, even though they have some uses.

Rosetta: I know what it's like to have powers active all the
time. My ability to see invisible portals and weak spots is one
of those powers on all the time. She says as she dissipates her
psi-sword. Rosetta: Reading unguarded minds is another one that
is always active. Humans can be disgusting in their minds.
Vladimir listens as the 2 talk.

Re: Welcome to Torchwood, Dufort

Dufort: Yeah... It's even worse for me, since my mind reading
overpowers most defenses. The only ones that work on protecting
the mind are skills like the Darkfire training that let one shut
down parts of the mind so that there are no thoughts going on. I
also have my psychometry power that reads items and connects to
people's senses through touch, so I use transparent gloves on my
hands to prevent myself from being overwhelmed every time I
touch something... He then has a thought. Actually, that could
be useful to copy your portal sight power. When I touch someone,
I share their senses. Anyway, I do also have a vision that's
always active, and that's my X-ray vision. He then turns to
Vladimir. And before you make some juvenile joke, no, it's not
just seeing through clothes. He says, almost anticipating
Vladimir would make some kind of joke about Dufort having X-ray
vision. My vision sees through everything. Everyone around me
just looks like skeletons. I don't see through clothes, but
through skin as well. It has its uses like seeing concealed
weapons and stuff, but I do have to rely on my Darkfire senses
to sense everything around me, since my X-ray vision sees
through almost everything. My normal vision is almost useless to
see the world around me. He explains.

Rosetta: Oh wow! I couldn't imagine having X-ray vision on all
the time. Have you ever thought about trying something like a
power suppression stone? Rosetta says to Dufort as she tries to
figure out a solution to Dufort's vision problems. She's glad
that his x-ray vision goes deeper than clothes.
Vladimir: Damn, that was going to be a good joke too, but I
guess it's also quite predictable. He says with a shrug and then
goes back to listening.

Dufort: Trust me, any joke you come up with, I can guarantee
I've heard a thousand times before. he says sarcastically to
Vladimir. He then turns back to Rosetta. I've tried, but so far,
my x-ray vision and my psychometric powers haven't been able to
be suppressed. I've been trying to work on a special set of
glasses that might restrict my vision and only process light so
that I could see somewhat normally. Tech glasses aren't an issue
to make, but finding a way to hold back my X-Ray vision hasn't
worked yet unless I use something like lead to block my vision.

Rosetta: Hmm... then I'm not sure if a techno-wizard that I know
might be able to help. He specializes in making unique magic
items like glasses and guns. Rosetta thinks for a moment after
speaking with a furrowed brow. She then brightens a little.
Rosetta: But he could still be worth a try. He might be able to
teach you his technique and spells that you can modify for your
own use. Fezzywig is a good man.
Vladimir: Though seeing him requires a trip to 41st century
Wales. Vladimir says with a bit of snide tone which gets the
tongue being stuck out at him from Rosetta.

Dufort: I'll give it a shot. He says with a shrug. Worst case,
it wouldn't hurt anything for me to learn a new form of magic.
