Zelpharia finishes signing the paperwork and then collects any
copies of them for Torchwood. Zelpharia: Then it sounds like we
should all be able to get along well together, Dr. Canaan. It
also appears as if we're done as well. Since Dufort will require
the standard Torchwood training period, I'll make sure that
Agent Cooper will be by to be of any assistance as soon as
possible until Dufort can join her. Zelpharia says as she looks
to Amenadiel with a friendly smile. Zelpharia: I want to make
sure that we don't cause too much of an interruption in any
current cases that Dufort may be helping. Plus, Agent Cooper
will be Dufort's partner after his initial training period so
might be helpful if she is brought up to speed.
Colton: "Do appreciate clearing that misconception up, kid. Just
be careful when catching my stray thoughts as I can get a bit
uncouth depending on the situation." Colton thinks so Dufort can
read his thoughts as he takes a relaxed stances and look. Colton
has worked around enough psychics to have perfected the art of
having a conversation without looking like he's having one. He
does follow the verbal thought though with the image of women in
bikinis playing beach volleyball as an example of when not to
read his thoughts.

Amenadiel: I have Dr. Reid and L here for now, so we should be
fine on any cases. Plus with Kindron's friend Dr. Barker around,
we have the psychic angle covered for the moment. Feel free to
do any training with you need to. We can always call if anything
crazy happens. Agent Cooper is free to contact me if she needs
anything. With Lorenzo busy doing other things, I'm trying to
keep everything as organized as possible. You can also contact
Dr. Reid or Dr. Barker if you need any extra assistance. Dr.
Barker is probably best since he is just consulting with us, so
he's got a little more free time than the rest of us. Plus, he
was also interested in hiring Dufort at his PI firm.
Dufort: Trust me... I've seen much worse. Your mind is pretty
tame compared to some of the things I've seen in some people's
minds. He says, not wanting to elaborate on some of the very
disturbing things he's seen in some people's minds.

Zelpharia: Very well. I'll let Gwen know that she can call you.
As for Dr. Barker, I'll give him a call but Dufort will be on a
five year service term for Torchwood per the Queen. She also has
an interest in his psychic abilities not just for Torchwood but
also for matters of national security and the future of the
United Kingdom. I am fairly certain that he'll be able to
request assistance, but that arrangement will have to be
discussed amongst myself, Dr. Barker, and Captain Harkness. She
then holds out her hand for another handshake once she has
collected all papers that she must take with her and hold them
in her other hand. Zelpharia: So it seems our business is
concluded here for now. Hopefully we'll all have quite the
pleasant work relations from here on out.. and perhaps you and I
could have some friendly conversations. I do enjoy talking to
other doctors and scientists and compare notes.
Colton: "What you seen in one being's mind that is dark is
perhaps something I've seen dark men do with my own eyes as a
law dog. So I understand what you mean." He then sees that
Zelpharia is winding this meeting down and takes a ready to
leave stance. Colton: "Well I ain't gotta be psychic to tell
that we're about to leave. By the way, name's Colton, but you
can call Colt if you want."

Amenadiel: I'm sure we could have some friendly conversations. I
don't have too many friends outside the department right now, so
feel free to come talk to me anytime if I don't bore you too
much. Anything you'd like to know about meta-human psychology
and behavioral analysis, I can talk for hours on it if you don't
get bored. He says jokingly to Zelpharia.
Dufort: Dufort Darkfire. Dufort Tolodora-Darkfire if you want to
use my full name. He says, introducing himself to Colton, though
already knowing Colton probably knew his name if he had been
told it. He gets up and stretches, getting ready to go.

Zelpharia: If Socrates, Freud, and Einstein couldn't bore me in
conversations, then I highly doubt you'll be able to. Now Plato
did come close but that was only because he was so monotone with
the emotion of a rock when speaking. She says with a light laugh
in her voice. Zelpharia: I am interested in learning more about
meta-humans in all seriousness so I will be in contact. Besides,
I'm pretty sure that you would be just as interested in knowing
more about my species as well. She gives Amenadiel a wry,
friendly smile and a wink. Zelpharia: Until then though, I'll
bid you a good day and hope that it goes wells for you.
Colton: "Nice to meet ya, Dufort. Your alternate maw had told me
your first name, but the last name you've given me has given
another answer." Colton finally gets a slight grin as he now
sees more puzzle pieces falling in place in long personal
investigation since joining Torchwood. Returning to Torchwood
III should be interesting. Colton: "By the way, you look more
like a Ford than a Dufort."

Amenadiel: Well. I'll be here most likely anytime you want to
talk. A good day to you as well. He says to Zelpharia.
Dufort: A Ford? I look like a car? He says sarcastically. Though
he knew what Colton meant, he still was trying poorly to make a
joke out of it.

Colton could help himself with Dufort's little joke and snickers
softly a bit. Colton: "Good one, kid. You got me on that one."
Zelpharia hears Colton's snicker and figures out that Dufort and
Colton must be having a silent conversation using Dufort's
telepathy. She manages to maintain a professional appearance as
she looks from Amenadiel to Colton and Dufort. Zelpharia: Not to
interrupt the two of you, but let's go ahead and get back to
Torchwood. She says to Dufort and Colton with a soft smile. She
then turns and begins walking out of the police station and
towards her TARDIS.
Colton: Yes, ma'am. He says to Zelpharia with a smile as he
regains his more professional.. as professional as Colton gets..
appearance. Colton: Nice meeting you, Doc. He says to Amenadiel
and then begins to follow Zelpharia. Colton: Let's go and get
you settled at Torchwood, kid.

The walk to the TARDIS wasn't long so Zelpharia decided to keep
her questions for Dufort until the three were inside. She is
surprised that Colton hasn't started with his questions though
as they had walked but let it be as she opens the door. That's
when she looks to Dufort, not with anger but motherly concern.
Zelpharia: I really hope that there is a good explanation for
why you decided to investigate Stormstar Industries the way you
did. She says to Dufort with a soft motherly tone and then walks
inside her TARDIS.
Colton remains quiet for now as he knows what's coming is a
family conversation. Instead he starts putting puzzle pieces
together for some of his curiosity about Zelpharia's and Jack's
odd relationship. Dufort just helped add more pieces for the old
investigator to add to what he's already.

Dufort follows Zelpharia. Dufort: You mean other than the fact
that it was connected to Nightshade? He says to Zelpharia
sarcastically when she asks about the reason. We didn't even
mean to get into a fight. We were actually just snooping around
trying to get information on the place to confirm whether or not
it had connections to Nightshade before we took it to Integra
and the others. When we got to the building, there was a
protective shadow realm bubble on connected to the Deep Shadow
Realm (Xeles's domain) that kept people from forcing their way
inside. That alone was a red flag. Then there were dark spirits
in the electrical system monitoring the place, and they didn't
even care about the fact that a Celestian, an angel with spirit
purification and a demon were in the building. And their leader
was that dark spirit version of the leader of Black Sun using a
human familiar who tried to kill us even though we tried to
leave peacefully. I don't even think that even 90% of death
wraiths and Celestians would have been able to sense him as a
dark spirit. It was only my unique psychic abilities that
recognized he wasn't human. He crosses his arms. So yes. I'd say
we did have a pretty good reason to suspect they were with
Nightshade. Things got out of hand, and that jerk dark spirit
tried to play it off as we attacked him. He sighs. I only got
involved because Chelsea asked for my help in gathering
information. The others were supposed to find physical proof of
their connection to Nightshade. Apparently they either never
did, or decided to just not care and leave me to rot in jail. He
says the last part with a shrug. Though Dufort figured they ever
found evidence, part of him was also a little distrustful and
included the possibility that they just didn't care to get him
out of jail.
