Zelpharia: Only if you learn more than pictures and dates, and
I'm only planning on looking at pictures and dates. I'm a big
stickler on not giving away too many spoilers. I only divulge
future information when historically necessary. She says as she
studies the pattern popping up. Zelpharia: If it means anything,
you die an old man apparently. She looks hard and finally sees
the usual pattern as she speaks. Zelpharia: Tara, what did your
scans reveal?
Tara: My scans reveal that Jack and Malcolm are definitely
generational reincarnation twins. Their soul energy is exactly
the same and the only real difference other than genetics is
that Jack has far higher temporal energy levels due to his
condition. Tara's look goes from surprised to one of curiosity
as she is comparing information scanned with historical data
banks.
Jack: You mean my "doesn't stay dead, doesn't really grow old
fast but can't regenerate a broken arm if I don't die" time
anomaly condition, right?
Tara: Exactly. Now what is surprising is the number of
reincarnations in the same family.
Zelpharia: You've confirmed multiple reincarnations?
Tara: Yes and in an usual pattern that breaks the normal nature
of reincarnation. Tara says as Zelpharia looks to her, Malcolm,
and Jack. Tara: Whoever the very first Merlyn was died with a
determination to reincarnate in the same family..
Zelpharia and Tara: Every 250 years.
Zelpharia: What in the hell could have one person reincarnate
every 250 years in the same family against the natural flow of
reincarnation??

Merlyn thinks for a moment. Merlyn: Maybe it has something to do
with the Lazarus Pit... I swore I'd never use it because of what
it would do to me, but those kinds of pits usually have some
kind of radiation. The Lazarus Pit is a revival goop pool that
is like instant reincarnation. Maybe that has something to do
with it. I am around it a lot, so maybe even though I don't use
it, I am still absorbing some form of energy from it? He then
shrugs. Either that or I'm more stubborn than even I realize. He
says jokingly.

Zelpharia: Lazarus Pit?? I've never heard of this Lazarus Pit.
She says with a thoughtful look. Zelpharia: Perhaps but only if
your ancestor was exposed to it as well. The reincarnations
began before you, Malcolm. According to what I'm seeing, you two
have been reincarnating since the first Merlyn male of the
family back in 1250 AD. Reincarnating in the same family with
the same appearance so precisely is against the nature of
reincarnation. People are reincarnated into different families,
races, on different planets, and even as animals randomly
throughout the life of a universe as typical reincarnation
nature according to Celestian knowledge and science. For this
kind of reincarnation to happen either a powerful curse was
cast, a deal with Death or Toranoraos was made, or some kind of
event or energy has the soul tied. Though considering what I
know about Jack and stubbornness, I can honestly see you and
anyone in your family past and future being that stubborn.
Zelpharia says the last part jokingly.
Jack: Just because I forced you to take a vacation with me and
Ianto to New Venice on Terra Nova One doesn't make me stubborn.
Just caring about your sanity.
Zelpharia: Actually I was talking about your love for that old
Webley six shooter, but you are stubborn in other areas as
you've so kindly pointed out. She says sarcastically to Jack.
She then looks back to Malcolm. Zelpharia: Is it possible that
your family has known about this Lazarus Pit or perhaps exposed
to something similar? Or possibly some kind of metahuman or
supernatural that your family has p*ssed off that could have
caused such repetition?

Merlyn: Before me? Then I wouldn't know about that. He says,
thinking. It is always possibly an ancestor could have been
around one of the Lazarus pits in the world. From what I hear,
there are actually a number of them. Ra's Al Ghul was known for
using the main one in the League's possession to extend his life
for many years. It took a toll on his psyche. I've seen what
that pit does to people, and what it takes away in order to
bring them back. I always swore I wouldn't use it. But if an
ancestor used it without knowing that, then it could be
possible. As for making enemies of supernaturals, that's also a
possibility. I have pissed off a lot of people, but I have no
clue about my ancestors making enemies. As far as I know, I'm
the first one in my family that has been combat trained, let
alone trained by the League of Assassins. But if I am
reincarnated, then perhaps there's a part of my history even I
don't know.

Zelpharia: Well whatever the cause for the reincarnation may be,
we know that Jack is the last one since his death isn't until
the end of the universe. Zelpharia knows that Jack's death is
actually a hundred years before the end of the universe but
rather not say it.
Jack: The joys of being a temporal anomaly. Exist outside of the
natural flow of time and can't stay dead until it all ends. Jack
says with some humor and a smile but a well trained eye and ear
could tell that there's regret and dislike being hidden. Jack:
Still sucks that I can't regenerate a broken arm or a non-lethal
bullet wound, but hey, I've had a lot of fun in my life so far
including meeting the mother of one of my children. The very
last part puts a genuine smile on his face as he glances to
Zelpharia briefly.
Zelpharia gets the faintest blush at Jack's final words but
recovers and regains her more scientific composure. Zelpharia:
Well, Jack, being exposed to intense amounts of temporal-spacial
energy has that side effect.. as we've learned. She looks at
Jack and then back to Malcolm. Zelpharia: Absolutely incredible
still. Never in my life would I have ever thought I would run
across this type of experience. She looks back and forth between
the two once again and then tilts her head in thought.
Zelpharia: I am so glad that I didn't meet you by myself,
Malcolm, or that could've made for a far more awkward situation.
The likeness is so incredible.. She then gets another thought
that brings a slight frown to her face. Zelpharia: Oh I just
thought of something.. what enemies do you have, Malcolm?

Malcolm: You want a top 5? He says jokingly when Zelpharia asks
about enemies. I head the League of Assassins when Hei isn't
around, and I know at least Vanessa, Ra's Al Ghul's daughter
does want to murder me and Hei. Plus there's some people in Star
City that I pissed off and they hate me. And that's to say
nothing of my competition with my company, Merlyn Global. That's
just the start of the trail.

Zelpharia: Oh boy... we might want the whole list. I just had a
very nasty thought that is a highly possibility. Zelpharia says
with a more worried look. Zelpharia: Considering that you both
look and sound exactly alike..
Jack: There's a very real chance Grandpa's enemies could mistake
me for him and come after me. Jack says as he catches onto where
Zelpharia's train of thought. Jack: That could interfere with
normal Torchwood life.
Zelpharia: Or worse.. make your closest, like me, into targets
thinking that they're going to affect Malcolm. She says quite
seriously to both Jack and Malcolm. Zelpharia: I want to know
every possible enemy just in case.

Malcolm: Most of my enemies aren't gonna know enough about time
travel to do anything or comprehend that they're gonna run into
this other me... He says, pointing to Jack when he says "other
me". The only time traveler I might worry about is if the
speedster I worked with comes back from nonexistence which he's
done before, or possibly Damien Dhark comes out of whatever hole
he's been in since he got put back in the timeline after the
incident. But he supposedly had his memories erased of the time
travel incident. Then again, so did I, but I recovered those
memories somehow. He says the last part with a shrug. Other than
that, the only people that are going to go after me are gonna go
after my son or my daughter first. And thankfully, I have
someone who is always watching out for them.

Zelpharia: Nice to know about the time travelling threats. As
long as your current more mundane enemies don't confuse Jack for
you, then I'll worry less.. She says as she relaxes more after
Malcolm's comment. Zelpharia: ..but if any of your enemies try
Jack, especially if I'm around, then I'll send you a present
letting you know that your family has one last enemy. Just
figured that getting a list might be a good thing.
Jack: As for my enemies, I don't think John Hart will be too
much of a threat. He'd take one look at how you act and dress
and instantly know you're not me. Happens when one of your best
friends becomes one of your worse enemies. Daleks are organic
life haters and a threat to anyone who doesn't embrace their
cybernetic lust so if they come after you then it's because
they're invading Earth as a whole. Jack says to Malcolm as he
thinks about his own enemies. He then thinks of one who could
actually be a threat to Malcolm and his family because of Jack
being a descendant and frowns. Jack: Now a bastard of an evil
Time Lord named the Master is a completely different subject. He
could be a major threat to you and your kids if he thinks that
killing you or just stopping your kids from being born will get
rid of me from the timeline. He's been a top two enemy of mine
since helping the Doctor stop the maniac from trying to take
over the universe.. multiple times. Not sure what he currently
looks like, but we can definitely supply you with a healthy file
on him so you will at least have an idea of his mental state.

Merlyn: And I'll get that list together for you on my enemies. I
may have to include my ally, Oliver Queen's enemies too though
because some of them are my enemies too. But overall, I think I
can get a good list. He listens to Jack's explanation about the
Master. Sounds like an aggravation. I'll warn Oliver in Star
City to be on guard. Though I get the feeling that if he hasn't
attacked by now, he probably either doesn't know I exist, or he
doesn't care. I've been on TV more times than I can count
because of my company, so if he's been in this time period, it
would surprise me more if he didn't know who I was. But
information on him can't hurt.
